Authors notes

Hey guys, sorry this update was a little more behind than I would have liked. I had my finals week and then we moved the week after so it was kinda chaotic. I also had some writer's block on the fight scene, I couldn't seem to get it right. I hope it is good enough. I am so excited to be writing more of this for you amazing people to read. This picks up right where we left off, enjoy!

"Lucky Charm!" Ladybug called out. Riptide's eyes widened when a strange red and black spotted object appeared in a flash of light above her, it fell down to Ladybug and she caught it.

Ladybug looked down at what she had been gifted by her power. She had been given a… camera? How was she-? Suddenly she was yanked backward just as Stoneheart's fist smashed into the ground right where she had been standing. She quickly whipped her head around to look back at Riptide who was now standing next to her after he had just pulled her out of harm's way. His yellow slit eyes now looked at her with curiosity. "What is that for?" He asked, his eyes quickly glancing down to the camera in her arms. Not even mentioning the fact that he had just saved her.

"It's my power, we need it for a plan." She explained. She then looked up at Riptide just as she had gotten an idea. She looked around at all of the components of her plan. Chat Noir, Riptide's dagger, the camera, and then Stoneheart's fist. "Okay, I have one."

Riptide tilted his head. "Are you sure it will work?"

"Yes. Just trust me." Ladybug said. Danny listened closely to her heartbeat. She was sure about this plan.

He narrowed his eyes slightly. "Okay, shoot."

"As soon as he is about to grab me, stab his closed fist with your dagger." Riptide looked down at the dagger he was holding in his hand, and back up at Ladybug before nodding.

She started running towards the giant, without another word. Danny raised his eyebrow. "Are you not going to be telling us the rest of this plan?" He asked, mostly to himself.

Chat stood next to him looking battle-ready for whatever his m'lady had planned. "You'll figure it out." He said before running forward brandishing his staff.

"That still doesn't help!"

Ladybug ran up in front of Stoneheart, taking dozens of photos with the flash on. "Smile for the camera." She quipped cheerily. Stoneheart roared and held his arm up to cover his eyes from the bright sudden flashes of light. Riptide ran closer, preparing for his part in this plan he didn't quite understand yet.

Stoneheart reached forward trying to grab Ladybug or at least stop the flashing light, shifting his attention away from the akumatized object. She smiled as she looked to the side at Riptide who was now very close to Stoneheart's closed hand.

He did as he was told and stabbed the closed fist. Hoping it didn't hurt the akumatized person too much. Stoneheart roared again angrily. His fist opening a bit as he tried to grab the shark-themed hero for stabbing him.

Just as the broken bracelet began to slip, Stoneheart grew bigger making his hand too big to be able to catch it again quickly. The creature looked as the bracelet fell with wide glowing eyes. "Chat Noir now!" Ladybug yelled.

Chat jumped through the air yelling out. "Cataclysm!" His hand was engulfed in the black aura of magic, looking kind of similar to an ectoblast on Danny's hand. The moment he had grabbed the bracelet in his hand it turned brown as if it was rusted and fell to the ground like crumbling dirt. From the remains, a dark purple butterfly fluttered out of it.

Danny stepped back with wide eyes as purple smoke engulfed the stone being, leaving behind a tall buff teenager with a skull and crossbones on his shirt. He was kneeling on the ground.

Ladybug stepped forward and threw the yo-yo out catching the purple butterfly in it. When she pulled it back to her and opened it a beautiful white clean butterfly flew out happily. She and her partner smiled happily. They both fist-bumped each other. "Pound it!" They called out in unison.

"Wh-what happened?" Ivan said. Riptide's attention was drawn away from the two other heroes and back to the teen. He was looking around confused. "Oh no! I let it happen again, didn't I?" He sounded disappointed in himself.

Ladybug rushed over to the teen and put her hand on his shoulder. "Ivan, It's not your fault. Hawkmoth gets to the best of us." She tried to reassure. "What happened? Can you tell me?" Her voice was kind and understanding.

"Mylene was going to be so sad." He started. "She made me a bracelet, but I broke it. I'm so dumb." He hung his head low.

Riptide walked over and helped the boy up. "I'm sure she would rather you be safe than a bracelet. I'm sure she will understand." Ladybug glanced over at Riptide who was surprising her with his kind and friendly tone.

Her eyes quickly drifted around at the damage done. She quickly picked up the abandoned camera from the ground and threw it into the air yelling out. "Miraculous Ladybug!"

Riptide stumbled back, dumbfounded as the magic ladybugs whizzed around, returning everything to brand new. All of the damage, gone! "Wa-What?" He stifled.

Chat leaned on Riptide's shoulder with a smirk, causing Danny to jump slightly, but Chat didn't notice. "That's one of m'lady's powers. She can fix all of the damage done in an Akuma fight." Danny glanced over at the Chat who was looking at Ladybug with stars in his eyes.

Danny smiled. "Man I wish I had that power for some of my fights." He chuckled nervously before rubbing the back of his neck. "Maybe people would hate me less." He then sighed.

Ladybug bent down and picked up the now repaired bracelet off the ground and handed it to Ivan. Ladybug reached up to her ear as she heard beeping, it was her warning before she would transform back.

She had about a minute. Chat would get the same warning any second now. Chat looked over at her and then back at Riptide. "See ya Toothy Hope to work with you again soon." Chat smiled brightly at Riptide before walking next to Ladybug and volting away.

Ladybug looked back at him and sent him a small wave. "Yeah… thanks for the help today Riptide, I may have misjudged you." She smiled slightly before using her yo-yo to swing away.

Riptide himself quickly decided to get out of there before any more reporters and people show up. Even with his identity being hidden, that still didn't mean he would be prancing around with the press.

He quickly turned around and leaped up, grabbing onto a light post launching himself up to the building. Surely there had to be a better way for him to get around. Ladybug and Chat Noir both had their ways of travel, did he have one?

He ended up ducking into another alleyway, not too far from the one he started in, and pinned his back against the brick wall. And waited for a second to hear if anyone was following him. He sighed in relief before looking back down at the shark tooth necklace that was now embedded in the chest of his suit. He should probably transform back.

"Resurface."

Danny closed his eyes as a bright flash of light blue light flashed over him once again. When they reopened there was the small shark floating in front of him with a bright toothy smile on his face. "So… Whatcha think?" He asked before giggling a bit.

Danny smiled at the kwamis happy personality. "That was great. I feel great!" Danny's core felt happy again, whole again, after he had protected those people. It was a much-needed recharge. "That was so cool."

Finn flew around Danny's head a few times. "I haven't been in a fight in ages! It feels good to stretch my flippers."

Danny tilted his head slightly. "So, can you see everything I see?"

"Yep. Pretty useful if you need to talk to your kwami about the fight after. But the holders can block out what their kwami's see or hear if they want." He put his flipper to his chin. "But I am not sure how though."

"So, what about those heroes? 'Ladybug' and 'Chat Noir'." Danny asked.

"Oh! Yeah, those guys are also miraculous holders. But their miraculous are some of the most powerful. The ring of the black cat and the earrings of the ladybug. The powers of destruction and creation. If brought together they can make any wish come true, or something or other, I wasn't really paying attention in kwami school."

Danny raised an eyebrow confused. "Kwami school?" He asked.

Finn chuckled and leaned back in the air. "Nah, I'm just messing with you." He spun around. "There's no kwami school. I never even really got to meet most of the other kwamis. We didn't get out much, the guardians often kept us locked up." Finn chuckled nervously.

Danny felt bad for Finn, he couldn't imagine being locked up for however long these beings existed. Their only purpose was to be a power for others to use.

Finn quickly noticed Danny's worried looks and decided to change the subject. "Uh, how about some food, I'm starving."

Danny didn't have a dime to his name right then, but he was sure he could come up with something to eat for the small kwami. He just helped him in a fight for crying out loud, he must be starving.

Danny ambled down the sidewalk of wherever he was in Paris, he had no idea. His hands shoved into his hoodie pockets and his hood pulled up over his head. He was just glad that the weather was not so hot that he would get any weird glances for wearing something this warm outside.

He didn't really feel temperature. Sure he did worse in the heat but it would have to be pretty noticeable for him to feel it. As an ice core ghost, his core would release cold around him when he got too hot as a self defense mechanism. That is unless he was healing and his core was working harder on regenerating any lost ectoplasm.

His friends back home would often ask to hang around him on really hot days, even Jazz would ask to sit in the same room as him. If Danny gets stressed or is really mad about something, he subconsciously lowers the temperature of the room, it was often a sign to his friends that he didn't want to be there or something was up.

Danny sighed remembering his friends again, Sam and Tucker, even Jazz. He missed them so much, he had only been away for about a day and he already missed them. Maybe they thought he was dead? He wished he could have seen them one last time to tell them goodbye or that everything would be okay. One last time.

A silent tear rolled down Danny's cheek, would he ever see them again? Danny was pulled out of his spiral when his neck was nudged by something. Danny quickly remembered that Finn had been hiding out on his shoulder under his hood this whole time. He also quickly noticed that he had been standing in the middle of the sidewalk doing nothing for who knows how long.

Finn gazed up at Danny with worried eyes. Something was troubling him, he was on the verge of a panic attack. He had no idea what had gone on in this boy's life, but he knew it was bad. He just wanted to make sure he was okay. If he ever wanted to talk about it, Finn would be here. He already felt strangely attached to the boy.

Danny started walking forward again. "Uh, what is it that you eat?" Danny started.

Finn smiled. "Well I prefer fish, but any meat will do! But I don't like fruit and bread stuff. Eck, makes me feel all sick." He stuck out his sharp tongue and scrunched his little nose.

Danny chuckled slightly. "Well, I'll keep that in mind." He pulled his hand up to pet Finn's head still under the cover of Danny's hood. "Fresh fish might be hard to come by, at least for now anyway," Danny said. "But I might be able to get my hands on some beef jerky." He shrugged.

"Beef jerky?" Finn questioned.

Danny continued walking. "It's some kind of dried meat I think. It's not bad. It's also pretty cheap and easy to come by."

X

Danny had managed to snatch a bag of beef jerky from a convenience store. It was only one euro. Danny was sure that was probably slightly more than an American dollar, but he would have to check. He went up to the till and told the worker that he had forgotten his wallet and asked if he could have it for free. She agreed, never even taking her eyes off her phone as she leaned against the till.

Danny shrugged and took the small bag with him out of the store. After walking for a couple of minutes he came across a bench at a nearby park. It was a small park surrounded by a short black fence. There weren't many people out right then, thankfully.

Danny opened the medium-sized bag and pulled one of the pieces of jerky, holding it next to his hoodie pocket that Finn had moved to because it was more comfortable. "Here." Danny offered. Finn reached out and grabbed onto the piece of dried meat. His sharp teeth ripping into it easily.

"Yum, it's amazing what the humans have come up with since I was last around. This is so interesting. Still doesn't beat fresh fish though." Finn said happily.

Danny tilted his head down, to look at Finn. "When was the last time you were 'around'?"

"Well, I wasn't used that much. I didn't have a permanent holder you see, lots of the kwamis were only brought out when a certain power was needed. Yada yada. It got kinda boring after a while." He sighed, but his voice brightened up again. "That's why it is so cool to be your kwami now! I get to talk to you and hang out, this is probably the best thing to have happened to me. Even if I do miss some of the other kwamis, I hope they are doing well." Finn took another bite of his jerky.

Danny was about to say something else when there was a small flash of green light next to him. Finn poked his head out to see what had happened, the last piece of jerky sticking out of his mouth. Danny reached down and grabbed onto a green piece of paper with a note on it. From Clockwork.
