Chat Noir raised his eyebrow. "What do you mean m'lady?" He straightened his back and gained a more serious look, given Ladybug's tone she was worried, and he needed to listen.

Ladybug paced back and forth a couple more times in front of him with her hand on her chin. "I don't know, Chat, don't you think something is kinda… off?" She asked, not looking up from the ground she was staring holes into.

"I don't see anything out of the ordinary, well besides the fact of being a teenager with superpowers." He shrugged. "But that's normal for us." He chuckled trying to lighten the mood before returning back to a more serious demeanor. "Ladybug, what I mean is, he seems nice. He also helped us with the Akuma battle. He hasn't done anything wrong yet. We can't just decide that he is bad because we don't understand how he got his miraculous." Chat explained.

Ladybug threw her hand to the side while still pacing. "I just can't afford to mess this up, Chat. I mean what if we just let him in with open arms and then he backstabs us? Or he's working for Hawkmoth to steal our miraculous! What if he is trying to steal it for his own gain and there is nothing to do with Hawkmoth!?"

She started pacing faster and faster. Chat Noir's eyes follow her worriedly, his ears aiming backward. "I can't fail, Chat." She continued. "He could just be another Volpina, I could lose you, lose everyone. I can't-"

She stopped as Chat Noir grabbed onto her forearms and steadied her. Causing her to look up into his green eyes. "Ladybug, you need to stop panicking." He said calmly. "I am sure this won't turn out like Volpina. And I won't leave you no matter what." He reassured. "Now, what did the guardian say?" He asked.

Ladybug sucked in a deep breath, closing her eyes for a second to try and calm herself down from that rant. "We need to find Riptide and find a way to get him to the guardian for a conversation. We need to ask him some questions."

Chat looked a bit surprised. "You want to bring him, to, the guardian? Wouldn't he then know the Guardian's identity? wasn't that the whole reason I couldn't meet him to begin with?

"I already talked with him earlier, we will have to meet somewhere where he can't see the guardian. It's best for them to talk directly, so the guardian can see his motives and actions." She pinched the bridge of her nose. "So we have to convince him to come with us."

Chat raised an eyebrow. "The way you said convince sounds problematic."

"It's that or he runs free rein around the city with powers we don't understand. And that's something we just can't risk." She tapped her finger against her chin biting her bottom lip slightly.

Chat Noir jumped up on the lip of the building in a crouch looking out over the city. "Well, I'll follow your lead m'lady."

"That's the thing." Chat Noir turned to look back at Ladybug with a tilted head. "We're going to have to follow your lead on this one." She pointed towards Chat.

"What do you mean?" He asked with a confused tone. "Normally you're the one that leads the plan."

"He seems less tense around you, he will be more likely to talk to you than anyone else." She explained. "And you… Well, you will probably have a more open mind when it comes to this." She sighed looking away slightly. "You might be able to see things I can't while talking to him, my mind so far has been clouded with different facts, but you will be able to read his actions better." She said, sounding unsure of herself. She gripped her upper arm tightly.

Chat Noir smiled nicely showing off one of his sharpened canine teeth before standing up and walking towards her. "I am glad to see you are thinking things through first. I will be happy to go in first." He put his hand on her shoulder so she looked up at him again. "And, if something happens I'll always have 8 extra lives." He quipped with a smirk.

Danny had just walked out of the school and down the stone steps when he heard someone calling out to him. He quickly raised an eyebrow before turning around. There was a girl from his class running up to him, the girl who sat near the front. She was wearing a yellow jacket and had her blond hair up in a high ponytail. She was waving one arm in the air to get his attention as she ran up.

She quickly caught up to him and was now standing directly in front of him. He was quite a bit taller than her. "Hey, Manny was it." She said, her tone sounded kind of stuck up.

"Danny." He corrected.

"Ahh, yes. Danny. So you're this new American boy I have been hearing so much about." She flipped her ponytail to the side with the back of her hand.

Danny raised an eyebrow. "I guess so?" He shifted his weight from one foot to the other.

"I am surprised you didn't come to talk to me earlier, considering how influential my father is." She scoffed slightly.

Danny tilted his head. "Sorry, but I don't know who your dad is. Or who you are."

She looked dumbfounded for a second before catching herself again regaining her confident attitude. "I'm Chloe Bourgeois, esteemed daughter of the mayor of Paris, Andre Bourgeois." She said it as if it was obvious, which it kinda was if you live in the city. "I am surprised you don't know who I am." She scoffed.

She was starting to seem more and more like Paulina. "Well, I only dropped into town a couple days ago." He shrugged. "I haven't heard much about most of the people here." He chuckled nervously.

"Hmm, well I suppose that is understandable, it would be kinda hard to memorize the names of all of the influential people in Paris before you came." She closed her eyes and turned her head to the side. Giving Danny a full view of her bright blue eyeshadow on her eyelids. "Well you just have to stay at my father's hotel while you are in the city." She grabbed his arm and started to drag him down the sidewalk, surprising him. Not only by the strength of the pull but the suddenness of it.

"I, uh…-"

"Le Grand Paris is the best hotel in all of Paris, and I am sure it would be the perfect place for an American boy like you to stay." She stopped to look back at Danny who had stopped walking and had slipped out of her grip. He had a confused look on his face, that puzzled her. "You already have a place to stay then?" She asked, closing her eyes and scoffing a bit. "I can assure you Daddy's hotel is better than anywhere else you could stay."

She just looked back at Danny's dumbfounded face again. "What?" She asked, putting her hand on her hip.

"That's uh, very nice of you to offer Chloe." He put his hands up in defense. "But I don't have enough money to stay at a hotel or something like that." She looked at him for a second, looking like she couldn't comprehend what he had just said. Danny rubbed the back of his neck nervously.

She quickly tried to recover. "Where are you staying then?" She asked with a raised eyebrow and her hands on her hips.

Danny paused. "Uh… I am still looking for a place to stay. I just c-."

She put up her hand to stop him. "Nonsense, you are staying at the hotel. Daddy has tons of empty, eh hem, lower class rooms I guess." She rolled her eyes. "There should be room for you." She said looking down at her nails on her newly manicured hand.

"Chloe, I don't have the money to stay at a hotel." Danny tried to explain again.

She groaned. "I am sure Daddy has a job for you there or whatever." She waved him off. "One of the boys at the sushi bar quit last week. I'm sure you can work there or something." She scoffed. "You were looking for a place to stay, no?" She asked, rolling her eyes.

Danny looked at her with one of the most stunned expression he could muster. Did she?… did she just offer him a place to stay, and somewhere to work!? "Well, do you want it or not?" she asked impatiently, still looking at her nails.

"Yeah… Yeah! that would be, amazing." Danny replied, sounding so stunned. Did she even realize that the small thing she just offered might be able to help him so greatly? "Thank you, thank you so much."

"Yeah, whatever. Just be there later today I guess." She scoffed before turning away walking towards her limo. "See you later, Manny."

She left Danny just standing there blinking in confusion. Did that really just happen? He looked down at his pocket to see Finn looking back up at him as well with an extremely surprised expression.

Chloe got into her limo after leaving the American boy standing on the sidewalk outside the school. She was surprised by herself. Why did she do that? He just told her that he didn't have any money and she offered him a place at the hotel? Sure it would be nothing for her to accomplish. Just batting her eyelashes at her dad and everything will figure itself out.

Well the American boy, Danny, seemed nice enough. And he didn't know her at all. That was interesting. Maybe she should talk with him more. And she guessed now he had a place to stay, she could.

But why was she just so nice like that? She heard he had nowhere to go and then bam she decided that he would stay. She didn't get it. Is she trying to be better for Ladybug, for Adrien, maybe? Besides, no one would know that she helped him. Not like her reputation would be ruined. She didn't get it.

Danny quickly walks away from the school and into a small alley, Finn flies out of his pocket and looks at him with a toothy smile. "Can you believe it, Finn? She just offered a place for us to stay. And a job! I didn't know what to say." Danny leaned back against the brick wall behind him. "We won't have to sleep outside anymore."

"I'm so happy for you Danny." Finn spread his flippers out and gave Danny's arm a hug. "And the sushi bar job is a nice touch."

Danny smirked at the kwami. "You better not eat everything, or I'll be out of a job before I even start."

Finn crossed his flippers with a grin on his face. "I make no such promises."

Danny chuckled, petting the kwami's head. "We have to find the place first." He put his hand on his chin. "What did she call it? Le... Le Grand Paris?" Danny's memory quickly flashed with something he saw in his backpack earlier and he pulled it off of his shoulders and placed it on the ground. He quickly unzipped it. Finn looked at him with a tilted head as the boy shuffled through the stuff inside until he pulled out a brochure for a hotel. 'Le Grand Paris'. It said in bold gold-colored letters across the front. Danny rolled his eyes. Of course. "Honestly Clockwork?"

Finn chuckled at his human's annoyed tone. "He does like to do that doesn't he?"

"He's going to give me a headache." Danny groaned, rubbing his temples with one hand.

Finn flew over top of Danny's shoulder to nestle his neck before looking down onto the brochure that Clockwork had left with Danny. "Where is it?" Finn asked.

"Ugh, almost the other side of the city. It's going to take me forever to get there!"

Finn smiled mischievously. "Forever for you maybe, but not for Riptide."

Danny looked up at the small shark and smirked. "Finn, Deep dive!"

Authors notes.

Thank you to Dragoknitter who beta read this chapter.

Hello all, thank you so much for all of the comments on the last chapter! They are all so nice and supportive, And I always love to read them! They give me the drive to write the next chapters for all of you lovely people to read. They mean so much to me. :D

This has been the latest chapter of the story and I worked really hard on it. I am working with Chloe a little bit in this one but I do have big plans for her in the future. I am only finishing what the miraculous creators started with her character in season 3. Please remember that this story is set during season 3 and before the episode 'feast'. I don't think that conversation with her was too out of character, I tried to make it as in character as I could, and I hope it was alright. I am very excited to show you all of the concepts that I have planned for future chapters!

Thank you all so much for reading and I hope you enjoyed this chapter! Please tell me what you thought of it. :)

Also, any predictions? love to hear them.
