Danny leaped up onto the fire escape and pulled himself up using his increased strength, launching him up onto the lip of the building easily. From there he quickly looked around to get a sense of where he needed to go before he took off running across rooftops.

He was trying his best to not be spotted by anyone below, but much like in amity park, it was unlikely that anyone would lookup. After about 20 minutes of running and taking shortcuts, he saw the large hotel in the distance, it was probably one of the biggest buildings in the city if Danny could have guessed. But she did say her dad was the mayor.

It probably wouldn't take that much more time to get there after he could see it. Suddenly Danny's ears perked up and he stopped in his tracks looking forward, body going tense. Someone was here, he could sense them. Danny turned his head around just as Chat Noir landed on the edge of the roof behind him. "How's it going whiskers?" Danny asked with a smirk as he turned his whole body around to face the black-clad cat.

Chat Noir smiled as he spun his tail around in his hands while he walked closer to Riptide. "Pretty good, you know I was just hanging around the neighborhood and saw you run by and wanted to check-in."

Riptide smiled relaxing his shoulders a little bit. "Pretty big neighborhood." He looked around. "I was just going to go meet with someone and thought running would be faster." He shrugged.

"I'd figure you'd rather swim?" Chat smiled.

Danny chuckled. "Well next time you see water in the middle of the city you should let me know."

Chat chuckled closing his eyes. "It is actually a very common occurrence here believe it or not."

Danny tilted his head to the side. "Really? Well, how bout that." He put his hand to his chin before putting it on his hip.

Chat stepped forward again, but not close enough to make Danny feel trapped. He could still get away very easily and Danny appreciated that Chat was paying attention to that. "You said you were new to town. So… what do you think so far?"

"Pretty good, I mean the angry people turning into supervillains is new, but besides that it's nice."

"Ooh, where did you come from before? I hope it wasn't the ocean."

"No, no. It wasn't the ocean. I'm from America." Danny shrugged, technically he was swimming with the fishes, Danny chuckled too himself.

Chat snapped his fingers. "I thought I recognized your accent. But it is really hard to tell. You must have been speaking French for a long time."

"Not that long actually, only recently got a handle on it. What about you? I don't see any giant cat trees around." He put his hand above his eyes and looked around.

"Born and raised in Paris. Though a cat tree wouldn't be half bad. Maybe I should talk to the mayor." Chat put his hand to his chin thoughtfully, and Danny chuckled.

Chat Noir paused and shifted his feet from side to side. Danny looked at him with a raised eyebrow. "There is actually something I wanted to talk to you about." Chat started.

Danny tilted his head but looked a little apprehensive. "What is it?"

Chat held his hands out in a peaceful motion. "Okay look. I know you are not a bad guy. But Things about your miraculous are raising some questions." Danny took a step back. "No, no wait! Don't worry we are not trying to take it away or anything. We just need to talk with you a bit ask a few questions. Nothing big."

Danny crossed his arms. "What kind of questions, because I am not about to go and tell my aft-, life story to a bunch of people I just met. This isn't some Disney movie where everyone's your friend. There needs to be trust, or else people could get seriously hurt." Danny looked to the ground thoughtfully.

"See that is what we are looking for. We don't fully trust you yet, and you don't trust us. That's why we want to ask you the questions, to make sure you are not going to hurt anyone. Would you not do the same thing if we randomly showed up where you lived?"

Danny paused. That is exactly what he would do, If a random ghost or hero showed up in his haunt and started saving people he would definitely be suspicious and very protective over his humans and territory.

"How about this." Chat continued. "You come with us, talk with the guardian and, you can ask your questions too. There will obviously be a line for questions either of us can ask. And you don't have to answer any that you don't want to. And I am sure you have some questions of your own. This is an exchange, not an interrogation."

Danny put his hand to his chin debating. "...You're right, I would do the same thing." Danny sighed. "I understand this is your territory and because of that fact, I am willing to go with you and talk. But that's it. Only talk." Chat's ears perked up and he smiled. Danny held up his hand before Chat could get too excited. "But there is somewhere I need to be first. I can meet again after I get this thing dealt with, I hope you can understand that."

Chat nodded. "Of course. How about we meet where we first saw you. On the rooftop."

"Three hours then."

"Three hours." Chat agreed with a kind smile. He stuck out his arm towards Riptide. Danny smiled back and shook Chat's hand, before turning and jumping off the edge of the building in a different direction than he was heading before. Just because he agreed didn't mean they weren't going to follow him. Might as well go in a different direction just to be safe.

Chat watched as Riptide rushed away to catch up with whatever he was about to do before he showed up. Adrian turned around and started walking in the opposite direction of where Riptide left to. Back to where Ladybug was standing a couple of rooftops away hiding back ready to come out if there was any trouble.

Chat landed next to her in a squatted position on the lip of the building. "What's up bugaboo. How was that?" Chat asked cheerily.

Ladybug took her bug phone away from her ear and snapped it shut ending the call she had started with Chat to listen in to the conversation. "Good, at least he agreed. But I am not sure about letting him just leave like that. What if he doesn't come back? Maybe we should follow him." She started biting her knuckle.

She was about to start pacing again when Chat put his hand on her shoulder. "If we follow him we will lose the small trust we have gained. I am sure he will meet us. He understands what is going on and the situation we are in. Don't worry." He took his hands off her shoulders. "Now we just need to talk with the guardian, and I believe that is where you are up, as you haven't told me where he lives."

"Sorry Chat It's just-."

Chat shook his head. "It's fine I understand. Trust, remember." He put his hand over his chest. Before taking off using his staff to vault over to the next building. "Meet you there!" He called out behind him.

Ladybug smiled lightly as he left before taking off in another direction as well.

He doubted that Chat Noir would follow him, but if Ladybug was there listening, which she probably was, he wouldn't be too sure about her trying to follow him. But he didn't feel them follow them. He most likely would have heard.

He looked around one more time before jumping down into a dark ally and transforming just as his feet touched the ground. Finn flew out of his necklace and landed on the palm of his hand. "You okay?" Danny asked the small shark.

Finn waved him off. "I'm okay, just a little tired." Danny pulled his backpack off of his shoulder and put it on the ground and started rummaging through it looking for the rest jerky packet. Danny hadn't even realized he had been wearing his backpack when he had transformed. And when he thought about it, he hadn't been wearing it when he was Riptide. It must have been absorbed into his suit like his other clothes. He will have to check out that theory later though, he was going to be late.

Danny quickly pulled the bag of jerky out and ripped a piece in half and gave it to the kwami. Finn grabbed it eagerly and started nibbling on it, his teeth tearing through it easily. He instantly started perking up when he ate it, making Danny smile.

He picked up his backpack again and threw it over his shoulder as he stood up. He then put his hand up to his pocket and Finn flew in still nibbling contently on the meat. Danny ran to the entrance of the ally and looked out both ways before running across the road and started walking towards the hotel. Hopefully, he will make it in time. She didn't really give him a specific time, but he would rather be early. This is a chance he can't let fall through his fingers like everything else in his life does.

As Danny walked up to the doors of the hotel he saw now just how fancy it is. It looked very expensive and pristine, definitely on the high-end side. There was a man in a fancy suit standing at the door of the hotel. Danny walked up to the doors cautiously before looking up at the man. "Uh, I'm looking for Chloe? Do you know where she is?"

The man gestured to the doors of the hotel. "She is inside, someone will call her down." The doorman grabbed onto the glass door and held it open for Danny to walk inside.

Danny nodded to the man. "Thank you." He said before walking into the building. It had a large red carpet and a bunch of bars along the walls all different kinds. One of them being a sushi bar. Danny chuckled when he looked down to see Finn's bright eyes as the kwami stared at the fish on the counter. "We will get some later." He pet Finn's head and the shark looked up at him with a smile.

Danny then heard footsteps and turned his head to look up at the stairs as Chloe walked down them. Looking at her phone. After she made it down the stairs she looked up from the screen. "Manny, there you are." She walked closer to him. "I was beginning to think you weren't going to show up."

He rubbed the back of his neck. "Sorry, something came up." Not bothering to correct her on his name.

She rolled her eyes turned around to start walking back towards the stairs. She paused and turned back to Danny once she realized he was just standing there. "Aren't you coming?" She asked in a slightly snobby tone.

Danny quickly raised his eyebrows before he jogged the couple feet closer to her and then started walking at her pace as she walked up the stairs, which was actually pretty fast. "I'll take you to your room and you can put your stuff there or something." Chloe waved him off. "I'll talk to dad later."

Danny tilted his head. "You haven't talked to your dad about this yet?" Worry creeping in. "Are you sure I can stay?" He asked.

"Pfft. Please, Daddy will do whatever I say. I am the most important thing in his life. You'll be fine." She rolled her eyes.

After a couple of minutes of walking, they reached some of the doors that were closer together. "Most people don't stay in these rooms. But if there is a big thing coming up where we need all of them you will have to move out for a while. Father will figure that stuff out though."

She passed him a key card and Danny held it above his door lock and it beeped with a green light. He opened the door to reveal a room with a queen-sized bed in the middle. On the wall was a small kitchen with a mini-fridge a stove and a sink.

On the other side of the bed, there was a door on the other side of the room that undoubtedly leads to a bathroom. There was a small balcony that lead out looking over a bunch of houses. Letting all of the afternoon light in. It was much bigger than he was expecting, and it looked super nice and fancy.

"Woah..." That was all Danny could say as he and Chloe walked in. Chloe was looking at her nails uninterested.

"Please, this is nothing, you should see my room. 40 times the size of this." She said.

Danny walked over and put his backpack on the bed and walked over to the balcony window. "It's beautiful." Chloe looked up at Danny as he gazed out the window. She then spun on her heel and started to leave the room.

"Thank you." Chloe turned around and looked at the boy who had now turned to face her.

She looked at him confused. "...It was nothing."

"I also doubt that you needed to come up here and show me the room yourself. You have a lot of people here that could have done it."

She started to turn towards the door again, putting her hand on the doorframe. "I was just bored, figured I might as well."

Danny smiled before turning back to the balcony. "Thanks again."

"See you later Danny," Chloe said as she walked out of the room closing the door behind her.

Authors Notes

Thank you all so much for commenting and liking the story! All of your support is amazing and so uplifting! :D

I do not intend on shipping anyone with Danny yet. That may change depending on what you guys think. There will be small crushes but nothing major, similar to the show. I think that it would seem a little out of place in this story. Especially with all that Danny had gone through. And who says a boy and girl can't be good friends that support each other.

I hope you liked this chapter. Please tell me what you thought of it! I read all of the comments. XD
