Danny walked at a steady pace along the pavement towards the school Clockwork had enrolled him in. Finn was curled up behind his neck under his hood nuzzling into its warmth, his little chest rising and falling slowly. It had been only a day since his conversation with Ladybug and Chat Noir, and Danny had been trying to cheer up the kwami.

He didn't know what truly happened to the other miraculous. But what Ladybug and Chat had said… He couldn't help but think it was true. It would be strange for them to lie about something like this. And they didn't seem like something they would make up. Danny and Finn had slept in the hotel room that night, not doing that much talking as Finn just seemed to want to be with Danny. And Danny wasn't going to object.

In all honesty, Finn being with him so far has been the only thing keeping him distracted and grounded enough that he didn't start thinking about his family again and getting him stuck in self-loathing. If he could help the kwami the same way he unknowingly (or knowingly) helped him, he would be happy to.

Danny didn't even eat anything when he got back. Chloe's butler had offered him some breadsticks or something or other -probably complementary- , but he just thanked the man and put them on his counter, leaving them to dry out. The next day when Finn had woken up he seemed to not be as down. Sure, he wasn't acting the same energetic happiness that Danny was used to seeing in him, but still. The kwami also refused to eat any more of the jerky Danny had offered, Danny was a little worried about that. But he declined food himself so often that he didn't want to pry.

But Danny needed to go to school, and Finn wanted to come with him in case 'Riptide' was needed. As the raven-haired teen walked on he could feel Finn's energy melting off of him in waves. Danny was pretty good at sensing emotions in ghosts. It was a natural thing for them. They didn't often talk about it, but any ghost around could tell how another was feeling.

It's part of ghosts being formed by emotions. Their emotions and their cores are what bond to the ectoplasm to make bodies. So when you were around a ghost if their emotions were strong enough you would be able to tell when they were overjoyed, scared, or angry. Even the other ghosts could feel Danny's emotions when they were strong enough. It was when they knew whether or not he was in a bad mood. Or even needed help.

Danny could feel the emotions off of Finn. They were nowhere as strong as they were if he was next to a ghost feeling these things. But way more than he could feel on a human. Part of Danny wondered if Finn had a core or something of the sort. Or if maybe Finn would be able to feel Danny's emotions as well.

He hasn't even told Finn about his half-ghost status. Danny was pretty sure that Clockwork didn't tell the kwami either, even if he did the shark didn't pay any mind to it. But Danny wasn't sure he was ready to tell another person -being- about this. Right now he just wanted to be normal old Danny Fenton. Just a clumsy kid who wanted to be an astronaut. And now a kid who has a kwami that turns him into a super… -gives him superpowers.

Danny looked around next to him to see if there was anyone nearby. Seeing no one he looked down at his feet again and continued walking with his hood up. "Hey, Finn?" He started quietly.

He could feel the Kwami look up and move around off of his neck. "Yeah?"

"Ladybug and Chat Noir's kwamis… They should be around here somewhere right? Like how you stay with me when I'm not Riptide?" Danny asked.

"Yeah, they should be... Why?"

"Well maybe sometime you should hang out with them, go meet them or something. You will be able to hang around other kwami's." Danny shrugged slightly as he suggested the idea. Sometimes when he was around other ghosts it helped calm him down or put him in a better mood than when he was around humans. Maybe it would do the same for Finn.

"Would you really let me go?" It sounded like Finn's voice was filled with excitement and hopefulness. But why was he asking if Danny would let him go?

Danny stopped and turned his head to the side so he could see Finn looking out the bottom corner of his hood at him, eyes wide. "Of course I would let you go. Why wouldn't I?" Danny felt shocked that kwami would think that he would have to ask for permission just to hang out with someone. What did his old holders do?

Finn tilted his head. "Well, what if you need to transform? I won't be there. I should be with you at all times, and listen to your rules. You are the holder of my miraculous."

Danny sighed. "Finn… I trust you. You can do whatever you want. You don't have to stick with me. If you want to go and find other kwamis to talk to, that's fine. And I am sure you will come back to me if something comes up." Danny shrugged. He felt the kwami tilt his head in confusion. "Really Finn, you don't have to worry about it."

"You mean it?!" Danny's heart almost melted. He nodded with a light simile. Finn hugged Danny's neck. "I mean I should be able to tell where they are! I could just find them!"

"Just don't get hurt." -Or captured- rang out in Danny's mind.

"Can I go while you're in class?"

"Yep. Class will be long anyway so you'll have lots of time." Danny waved his hand to the side as he continued walking again, forgetting that he had stopped earlier.

"Thank you Danny, You are the best holder a kwami could have." Danny chuckled and lifted his hand up inside of his hood to pet the small kwami. Glad that he could make him feel better.

"Danny?" A voice called out. Said raven-haired boy turned his head around to look back behind him on the school steps. He immediately noticed that the person who had called out to him was the girl he had first met here in Paris. The one he had bumped into and yanked out of the way of a car when she ran into the road.

He stopped and turned fully around to face her, now walking back down the steps. He racked his mind for her name. He remembered her telling it to him, but his mind was so caught up in being able to understand French for the first time that he wasn't really paying attention.

It was an interesting name, like mia, lien, lana? Mylene! "Hey, Mylene right?" Danny tilted his head as he walked closer.

"Yeah! Thanks again so much for pulling me out of the road, I would have been a goner." She laughed nervously. "I saw you in class the other day and I was pretty sure it was you. I didn't really get to properly look at your face with your hood up…"

"Yeah, it was me. I was sure I recognized you earlier when I came in, but I didn't really have time to say anything." Danny rubbed the back of his neck.

"As the new guy, everyone kind of flocks towards you." She chuckled. "I mean everyone is still going on about Lila and she has been here for months now." She threw her hand to the side. "But everyone in class is really nice, they are all great friends. It's nice to add you to the friend group." She smiled holding her books against her chest. "Oh, Ivan!" Her eyes focused somewhere behind Danny's shoulder making his head turn.

There just down the sidewalk and stepping towards them was the boy who had been akumatized the other day and the one he was sitting next to in class. "Hey Mylene, I was looking for you." He was wearing that charm that was broken around his wrist.

"Ivan, this is Danny. He was also the guy who saved me from getting run over the other day! Danny, this is my boyfriend Ivan." She moved her hand between them, gesturing.

"Ahh nice to meet you Ivan, we haven't really talked yet." Danny looked up at the boy who was about as tall as Dash. But he seemed remarkably careful as he wrapped his arm around his girlfriend's shoulder.

"Sorry, I'm not much of a talker. But I do want to thank you for what you did for Mylene the other day. I am very glad you saved her in time." He stuck out his hand for Danny to shake, which he did.

"I hope that anyone would have done the same if they were in the same situation." Danny chuckled.

Mylene smiled. "Well thanks again, I know class is starting and we should go. But we should all hang out sometime. Everyone in our class likes to hang out all the time. We should plan something. Go to the movies or something." She shrugged.

"Yeah, That sounds fun. We totally-" The bell went off interrupting Danny. All of them turned to face the school doors. "We better get going." He chuckled.

Finn waited next to Danny for the first 10 minutes of class, he didn't want to immediately run off the moment his human sat down. He didn't want it to seem like he was just trying to abandon him to try and look for other kwamis.

But Danny was a good human, much better than some of his other holders. He had only gone around with holders a couple times. And then he was only used for his power and nothing else. He didn't like using his power. It made him feel not like himself.

But he would have to tell Danny about it at some point. What if he needs it? And even then, would Finn be okay if it was this human using it? He seemed like he would use it well, and would be able to control it. He believed in Danny.

But right now he wanted to find the other kwamis, he had never met the cat and ladybug kwamis. But he had heard so many legends of them from his time in the temple. But it would be nice to speak to others who understood what he was feeling with the other kwamis being gone.

And it would be interesting to talk with them. Maybe they could talk about their holders, maybe then they could work together more often. That would be nice for Danny. Maybe then he could help his human start to feel more like the hero he is.

Finn phased out of Danny's jacket and through the floor silently, quickly checking to make sure Danny was still good before taking off. He could feel the kwamis were close by and that was surprising. But then again it seemed their holders were the same age as his so it would make sense that they would go to highschool.

He floated around the walls silently, staying near corners not wanting to get caught. The classroom right below them was empty. He floated around looking, he could tell they were very close. But where?

Finn floated around the school as he looked, his tail swishing back and forth nervously whenever he stopped to scan over each room. It was strange. He could feel them there, he had been looking for almost 15 minutes.

The next wall he flew through brought him into a much bigger room, it definitely wasn't a class. It had lots of windows on the top and was letting in a lot of natural light. In the room there were rows of lockers and benches. There was no one in there at the minute so Finn floated down to eye level as he flew around the lockers.

Maybe one of the kwamis were in the lockers while they were waiting for their human to finish class? He flew into a couple of lockers not finding much but some extra textbooks and bags. The blue shark tilted his head to the side, he could feel a kwami was close and getting closer. It felt as though they were looking for him too.

He was just about to speed around the corner to look at more lockers when he was almost face to face with a human girl with wide eyes and dark blue hair. The Ladybug kwami floating next to her. Uh oh.
