"Your last nightshift, how did you go?" Trevor wanted to know with a little smile as he placed her breakfast down before her. Lucy had taken the kids to school and Olivia had barely just walked in the door, claiming to be famished.
"It was so, so long," she groaned, resting her head back dramatically. "It was hard not to slip to anyone that I won't be coming back after my next set of day shift… I really, really want to tell Sonny."
He smiled at her. "Eat up, make sure you have a good breakfast."
"Have you eaten?" she asked, feeling the weariness sinking in as soon as she'd sat down. She wondered why he wasn't entirely dressed and ready for work. She watched him move around the kitchen.
"No," he smiled, "I got my schedule mixed up and I have an 11:30 start with a 7:30 finish so I thought I'd get to eat at least one meal with you today." He grabbed another plate and started loading his own up.
She smiled back at him. "Thank you for the food… it looks amazing, you are amazing." He paused to kiss her before her sat down.
She glanced down at the scrambled eggs, hash browns, fried tomato and well-cooked bacon just as she liked. He'd even sliced her toast for her too. She sprinkled some pepper over her eggs and a little salt over the whole lot before she dug in, trying to remember to take it slow so she didn't have another case of indigestion.
He sat down across from her at the table. "So Lucy is taking Noah to Tee-ball after school and Erika is going to pick up Elly from daycare at about 2:30 and they'll hang out for a bit and come back here. She's gonna have dinner here, is that okay?"
Olivia nodded. "She doesn't have to do all that, I have a few days to catch up on sleep before I'm back on shift. She could just drop Elly off if she has other stuff to do…"
"No, she wanted to. I told her I'd be home around 8 but she said she was more interested in hanging out with you—" he laughed.
Olivia chuckled, "Harsh huh?"
He shrugged, "I mean, I don't blame her, truthfully. I'd rather hang out with you than my sister right now."
She knew what he meant. It was hard when she worked nights, they missed each other – especially when he was in the middle of a case or on a different shift than she was. Sometimes he had to be available at night for warrants or for visiting defendants or to look at evidence before requesting warrants.
She felt like she'd hardly seen him for almost two weeks.
"Thank God it's Friday, huh?" she asked.
"Yeah, at least we can spend some time together tomorrow."
Olivia was so happy to have something to eat. She remembered how amazing Trevor's famous scrambled eggs were – she wasn't really a big fan of eggs, but pregnancy made her crave them. They were light and fluffy and not runny at all.
"Liv, I have to go to Pennsylvania the week after next," he announced, "there's a four day trial there that I have to go to to collect and share evidence with the DA out there."
"Four days?" she almost choked. "How am I gonna live without you for four days!" she exclaimed.
He couldn't help but to smile, "Come on, you can do it… but I do worry about you being with the kids day in and day out – they might send you around the bend."
"They already do…" she laughed, "seriously though, four days? That's crazy. We're going to miss you so much."
"I know," he made a face, "I'm going to miss you guys too and I'm reticent to leave you alone that far along with your pregnancy. I am thinking it might be nice if my sister stays here with you…"
"Erika has got better things to do," Olivia replied. "Its alright Trev, This baby isn't going to fall out of me any time soon, I'll be okay. The kids know that I don't have a lot of patience for bad behavior right now."
"They've been so good this week, Liv," he smiled. She'd barely seen the kids either. She was lucky to see them for a short while before she went off to work or if she managed to stay awake, long enough to take Noah to school and drop Eloise off. "Eloise really wants to go and look at the flowers in Central Park this weekend because she wants to get some ideas for the garden on the balcony we talked about at the new place."
Olivia smiled, "Okay we can do that. What about Noah? Does he have a game tomorrow?" she wondered, hating that she could barely keep up with their schedules while she was on nights.
"No they had a forfeit, no sport this weekend but I did promise that we could go and buy him a basketball for the court at the new place too; I think they're a bit excited so I thought we could maybe go and get them a few things each for their new room, let them pick out some bedding, maybe a little bit of furniture – what do you think?"
She smiled, "Sounds good, I'm excited to just hang out with the three of you..." she replied.
Trevor watched her eat. She was starting to eat a lot more and her cravings were out of control. "There's more scrambled eggs in the pan if you want more," he told her.
"Ooh thanks…"
"You're very quiet," he remarked, "everything okay?"
She nodded, "I'm just really exhausted, I really need to sleep but I keep thinking about all these things I have to do and we just caught a really bad case last night so it's all… you know," she shrugged, stabbing her bacon with her fork and pushing it in to her mouth, "a lot."
"Its okay, why don't you tell me what I can do – all these things, what are they? Are they things I can help with?" he asked, sipping his coffee
"No, its just work stuff, paperwork things and after last night I have to put together the report and the findings. I have to catch up on all the end of month paperwork; I have to leave Carisi with some kind of manual or instructions on what he needs to do…"
"I think it's crazy that Garland has left it so late to tell him," Trevor remarked, taking a bite of his toast that he had piled some egg on to.
Olivia shrugged, too tired to commit to an emotion about it. "Sorry if I'm not very talkative, I just feel really… blech…" she admitted. "I have put on so much weight this week and I feel like my body is going to burst out of my skin, I feel so uncomfortable."
Trevor reached across the table and took her hand and gave it a squeeze. "My heart, you haven't put on weight, the baby has grown a lot in these past few weeks, it's totally normal and you still look beautiful."
She smiled at him. "Thanks… but its just so uncomfortable…literally the only thing that makes it feel better is water because there's no gravity."
He felt bad for her and he could tell that she had had enough. "I'm like, what? 33 weeks and I look like I'm ready to start pushing…" she added with a sigh, eating the rest of the bacon on her plate.
"What can I do to make you feel better?" he asked gently. "I know I can't take away that discomfort, but is there something I can do to ease it?" he asked, "I could rub your back until you go to sleep or… get you in to a nice warm bath…"
"Thanks baby, I'll be okay. I'm sorry I'm just a misery today," she replied, swallowing her food. She had wanted to go for some extra scrambled eggs but as she cleared her plate she realized she didn't need much else.
He shook his head. "You're fine, you're tired… you need a break. Do you want some more food?" he asked, nodding toward her empty plate.
"No thanks, thank you for making me breakfast, it was so good…" she slowly eased herself up from the table. He could see it was effort for her. In the few short weeks her belly had popped and the baby seemed to be growing daily. In her better moods they joked together that she looked like she had a tortoise shell beneath her shirt.
"Honey, leave it all there, I'll clean up, you go up to bed and get changed and I'll come up and lay in with you for a short while as soon as I'm done."
"No it's okay—you did all this hard work in the kitchen, I'm not a total invalid."
"Olivia," Trevor said firmly, standing up, to stop her from going in to the kitchen, "you are exhausted, I can see it, please go up to bed and let me worry about the kitchen, okay?" he took her shoulders gently in her hands and could see her eyes fill with tears. "Oh, honey…"
She laughed and sobbed at the same time. He hugged her close to him, "it's just hormones and weariness," he told her, "you're feeling everything just that bit extra at the moment."
She nodded in agreement.
"Go on my heart, please go to bed," he spoke softly, giving her his best encouraging smile. "I love you."
"Okay," she replied, feeling him thumbing at her tears, getting rid of them. He kissed her lips lingeringly and let go of her.
/
"Hey what do you have planned for the weekend?" Trevor asked Erika softly as he walked in to the study at the end of the hall and slid the door closed.
"Sonny is working until 6 unless overtime, so probably just dinner and hanging out, why what do you have planned?" she asked him.
"Mmm I don't want to do this to you, I can ask Mom but… Liv's come off 5 nights and has three days off. She's gotten big this week," he was able to chuckle, "and she's really feeling it, she said the only thing that gets rid of that discomfort feeling is water so I thought… maybe if you wanted, you could take the kids for a night but if you want time with Sonny, just say no…."
Erika listened to her brother babble on for a few moments with a smile. "Trevor, I'll take the kids… I realize as Liv gets closer you're going to need more help, I'm not planning nothing and Sonny and I are flexible. Are you still going to Pennsylvania?" she wondered.
"Yeah, but it got delayed because the defendant had to spend some time in the hospital so it's week or so away, I'll let you know as soon as I find out."
"Cool," she smiled, "do you guys need help with the packing or anything?"
"No, we're almost done," he replied, "thanks though… I just thought I'd take Liv to stay somewhere a bit fancy where she can lay in a pool for awhile and have a good night's rest without having to worry about anything."
"You're a good man, Trev," she smiled. "And actually, I wanted to run something by you."
"Sure, of course… what is it?" he asked curiously.
"It's Mom's birthday in a few weeks, I was going to have her meet Sonny but … after everything that happened when Liv was here, I figure that's a situation that's only going to go south and unlike Mitch, I don't think Sonny is going to have good-humor about the way she speaks to me…"
Trevor liked to avoid the contention with his mother. Apart from warning his mother never to speak to either Erika or Olivia like she had again, he liked to pretend the situation hadn't occurred – he stayed far enough away from his mother because he knew if she was rude about Olivia, it would have awoken something within him that he wouldn't have had control over.
"Right…" Trevor listened, "I thought we could do a family birthday dinner for her. I think enough people will be around for her to keep her in line, I can't deal with being on my own with her right now. She won't behave in front of you the way that Olivia witnessed…" she told him.
"OK, let's do something I guess. Do you want me to set it up?" he asked, "It has to be on a weeknight though, we have the move in a few weeks, actually the weekend I get back from Pennsylvania, don't forget."
"I know, I know…"she groaned, "Sonny is coming and he said he is gonna bring his Dad despite what you say so … be ready for that."
Trevor laughed, "that's really kind. I like Sonny, Ez," he told her sincerely, "I had my reservations, but I really like him. He's so good to you, he's a kind person and he knows how to show up with the food goods, what's not to like?" he joked.
Erika laughed, "Well, I think I just witnessed history, my big brother not just accepts or tolerates but actually likes my boyfriend," she laughed. "Thanks Trev, that actually means a lot to me but don't think that you can get out of organizing Mom's birthday."
He laughed, "Its okay, I don't mind. I'll let you know the details when I book it.
"Great," she replied. "So you just let me know what you want to do tomorrow with the kids, what your plans are and I'll let Sonny know."
"Thanks so much Ez," he replied. "I'm gonna go and make sure Liv is okay, love you."
"Love you too, give Liv a hug from me, I'll see her later this afternoon."
/
Trevor found Olivia sitting on the edge of the bed crying, her body wracked with silent sobs. He rushed over to her, "Olivia!" he exclaimed, "what's wrong honey?" He eased down beside her and pulled her in to his arms, wrapping them around her tightly. "Sweetheart, what is it?"
She couldn't speak through her tears so he held her close.
He stroked her hair and kissed her temple and waited for her to calm.
"What is it?" he asked again softly.
"Its so stupid, I'm so stupid…" she murmured.
"No, you're not and I'm sure whatever it is, its okay…" he replied.
"Remember Renee Anderson?" she asked him, her voice as soft as a whisper as fresh tears mapped their way down her cheeks.
He nodded. The young teen that had been blowing up Olivia's phone looking for guidance and direction after a brutal assault in Chelsea. Trevor was vague on the details, but he had suggested more than once that Olivia should speak to her about getting professional help instead of looking to Olivia for friendship and a band-aid for her pain.
"Yeah," he replied.
"She came to see me last week and I told her that she was such a great kid but I needed her to start living a life again, to stop blocking out her father, to find friendships back at school – that I couldn't be her Mama and I didn't always have the right answers… I referred her to a great therapist…"
He nodded, momentarily proud of his wife-to-be.
"She didn't take it well, she took it as me breaking a promise to always be there for her, she said she felt rejected and abandoned by me…"
"That's a lot of things to pin on you," Trevor replied, wondering how it was that teens could be so hurtful.
"I knew she was fragile, I shouldn't have told her that—but I was tired and I didn't have the energy, I didn't do my job…"Olivia cried, finally glancing at Trevor.
"No, Liv, it's not appropriate for you to be fielding phone calls and text messages around the clock while you're at home with your family."
"She tried to take her life and I feel so responsible…"
"I'm sorry," he breathed. He wanted to add that it was not her responsibility, but he thought better of it. He slid his arms around her and held her again. "You are almost 8 months pregnant Olivia, you can't do everything, this is not your fault."
"I just feel like a failure. I know you think its stupid, but this is how I've always lived my work life."
"I don't think its stupid. I'm sorry she hurt herself. Is she alright?"
Olivia nodded and wiped her eyes with the heels of her palms. "She's okay, I went to see her…she hadn't woken up yet but I just had to see for myself that she was okay or I wouldn't have been able to sleep."
"Why didn't you tell me?" he asked, "you could have told me…" he murmured.
"Because I know how annoyed you got with the constant texting-"
"I'm sorry," he said, "I won't do that to you, I won't put you in that position again, I didn't mean to make you second guess what you do, Liv, I'm really sorry that you felt like you had to keep it from me." He meant his words, the last thing he ever wanted was to make her feel like she had to hide things.
"Its okay," she said, "I'm just so tired and so emotional."
He kissed her. "You're pregnant. And I have a surprise for you tomorrow night that involves you doing absolutely nothing but relaxing, so I need for you to go easy on yourself, Olivia." He was serious, "you don't need any of these burdens right now, so whatever you need to do to make yourself feel better, you do it, okay?"
"Thanks," she said softly.
"Why don't you have a hot shower and get in to bed?" he suggested.
She nodded again.
/
Trevor went downstairs and readied Olivia's wheat pack and took her a cup of warm milk that he hoped would help her brain wind down. "I'd prefer if you didn't stare at me waddling back in to the room…" Olivia muttered crankily after her shower. She wore her usual, but she could no longer fit in to Trevor's shirts so she had bought a few loose-fitting maternity t-shirts to wear.
"Why not?" he asked with a smile. He pulled back the covers for her. "You look beautiful and that giant baby growing inside of you is just trying to make himself known."
He managed a smile. He did always make her feel better about herself. He told her she was beautiful so constantly without hesitation or flinching that she knew he meant it.
She got in to bed and thanked him as he handed her the warm milk. She took a few sips before setting it down. "I love you."
"I love you too." He reached to his bedside and grabbed her heat pack. "Why don't you lay down and I'll press this in to your back after you get comfortable."
"Thanks Trevor…" she said again. It took her a few minutes to find a comfortable position but she sighed with relief once she found it. He wedged it where the pain usually radiated.
He darkened their room with the shut out curtains and slid on to the bed in front of her. He placed a hand on her warm belly that was exposed from beneath her long, soft cotton shirt. She opened her eyes and he could tell that she was exhausted and almost ready to fall asleep.
"You've had a big night by the sounds of things," he told her, sidling up close to her. She lifted her head and he pulled her gently in to the crook of his arm and rubbed her belly. "Close your eyes, baby…" he said gently. "When you wake up, there's some food in the fridge covered over, make sure you eat…"
"I love you…" she told him, almost asleep.
"I love you too," he kissed her forehead. "I'm gonna sleep a little bit longer too." He told her. He didn't normally sleep late, but he had been up late with Noah who was missing his Mom and had woken up several times crying out for her. In the end, both kids had come in to bed with him and he'd copped several punches to the back and ribs.
"I won't be able to wake you up once I'm out…" she murmured with a little smile.
"I know, I've set my watch alarm to buzz me awake… sweet dreams, my Olivia," he kissed her lips forehead again.
/
"How do you like it?" Trevor asked, watching Olivia walk around the room looking a little in awe. It was the most opulent place she'd ever stayed in.
She turned around to face him and grinned at him. "This is crazy," she murmured, taking a step toward him, grabbing his hands and interlacing her fingers within his, "honestly, look at the view…" the ceiling to floor glass windows in the corner room allowed them to feel like they were staring out in to the city from a ledge. All around them the buildings sparkled with bright lights and Central Park was spread out below.
All the furnishings were decadent and beyond what she could have imagined for their night away. It was certainly not what she expected.
"I like the view that I'm looking at right in front of me…" he winked at her. She chuckled, blushing slightly because she didn't feel great about herself, that his compliments felt undeserving. "I just wanted you to have a night of relaxation, a relax in some water and to hang out with your darling fiancé," he winked.
"Thank you," she replied. "I am eternally grateful for how kind you are to me, this is amazing, Trevor, seriously, thank you." He leaned over and kissed her lips lingeringly, feeling the bump against his body between them.
"You're welcome, love," he replied.
They were interrupted briefly by their luggage being brought up to their room. Trevor tipped the bell boy and thanked him.
He took Olivia's hand again and pulled her in to the bedroom to survey the huge bed and the bathroom attached. The room was small but it shared the same huge windows as the living area did with a giant TV affixed in to aa cavity to the side- Olivia loved that she could lay in bed and stare straight in to the city lights.
"Trevor… this is perfect…" she gushed, letting go of his hand to see a large bath tub and a twin shower. Their bathroom was a little bit bigger at home but she didn't care, it was still all just so thoughtful and wonderful of him.
"As soon as I saw the pictures of the room with the bed right by this huge window I was like, this is the only place for My Liv."
She felt her heart soar a little at his sweetness. She wrapped her arms around him and kissed his lips again. "You are so thoughtful, I'm so sorry that I've been difficult this week."
"You haven't been sweetheart," he replied, "stop giving yourself such a hard time, you're tired, you have a lot to do before you leave work, it's totally fine. The kids and I understand."
"Thanks baby," she sighed.
"So…. I was thinking we could go downstairs and swim before dinner."
She sighed, "I don't have anything suitable to swim in," she pouted. "I'm too big, someone might call Green Peace to report a sighting of a beached whale."
Trevor couldn't help but to laugh at her dramatics. "Stop it, Olivia, of course you have something to wear. Put your bikini on and you can wear a black t-shirt over it."
"I didn't bring them…" she replied, feeling as though she could cry. "I feel so stupid."
"Oh my god, Olivia stop with the negative self-talk!" he exclaimed, "you look beautiful, you do not look like a whale, you are not stupid, I packed your bikini and shoved an extra shirt in."
She wrapped her arms around him, thankful for him. He chuckled. "You poor thing, your hormones are everywhere, aren't they?" he asked, stroking her hair.
"Yeah, I feel so fucking… unhinged," she admitted, hating that he was trying to hide his frustration with her.
"Its okay, come on…"
/
Trevor waited for Olivia to get changed. He couldn't help but to smile pridefully as she came from the bathroom, her hands resting on the basketball-like bump. "You look so good, baby," he promised.
She rose an eyebrow at him. He couldn't help but to laugh at her doubt. She tied a thin wrap around her waist to cover her thighs and Trevor grabbed the hotel key and his phone and they went down to the pool.
"I don't know if I'll get in the water…" she murmured, looking around to see other people, younger women huddled together in a group. She never expected that she would ever feel so insecure, it was not something she was used to feeling and it was overwhelming and all-consuming.
"Listen to me," Trevor took her by her shoulders and looked her in the eye and waited for her complete attention, "you have put on some weight, but you are pregnant with our baby – our child who is more important than anyone else's opinion or thought, okay?"
She breathed her tension out and blinked back tears as she nodded.
"I want you to believe me when I tell you that you are beautiful, inside and outside and I really just need you to relax and breathe and stop stressing about the size of the baby, the shape of your face, or the size of your thighs, it's fine. You'll give birth in a month and I know what you're like, you'll eat your way back to shape and you'll be way too consumed with the baby to care about all of what you're worried about now."
He wiped a tear away with his thumb that escaped the corner of her eye. "Now, I brought you here to relax and because you told me you feel comfortable in water cos you can float and don't feel heavy, so you better get your sweet ass in to that pool and start relaxing." She managed to smile and reached up and covered his hand at her cheek with her own.
He kissed her lingeringly. "I love you," she murmured, "you're putting up with so much of my bullshit."
He chuckled, "its okay, you're emotional because this is the business end of getting this baby out of you."
They both laughed. "I mean, I need him to hold off for a few weeks but as soon as he can, I want him to exit."
"Me too," he agreed, "I hate how miserable you feel and how helpless I am."
"I promise I'll try harder not to act like such a baby, it must suck to be you right now…" she murmured, feeling guilty.
"No baby, that's not what I'm saying, I understand. I just want you to feel better. I'll tell you a hundred times if I have to, that you're beautiful and I find this Mommy look totaaaally sexy," he winked.
"Even if sex has sucked?" she asked him, referring to the awkwardness of trying to have sex with him a few nights earlier with no success due to her discomfort."
"I don't even care about that, honey," he replied, kissing her. "but if it helps, know that I've done a little research so if you feel like you're in the mood, I can probably accommodate you a little better," he winked.
She smiled at him, genuinely happy. "Love you," she told him again, kissing his lips.
"I love you," he said in reply.
"You're coming in the water with me, right?"
"Of course," he replied. He watched her gingerly disrobe. Surprising him, she pulled her t-shirt off, revealing a tighter than usual bikini with her breasts filling it out more than he was used to.
"Could you please just…" she was holding the two triangles of fabric up, trying to give her breasts more lift, "could you do the tie at the back of my neck a bit tighter for me so I don't have a wardrobe malfunction?"
He smiled. "Of course." He helped her adjust the back of her bikini but the halter string became a little tight that it made a ridge in her skin. "It needs to be tighter," she told him.
"You can't make it tighter baby, it'll cut in, its fine, your boobs look fine, you're pregnant, they look how they're meant to look."
"Like udders," she was able to laugh in good humor, looking down at them. It was a little better, at least, she thought examining herself.
Trevor laughed at her, all but giving up. "Come on let's get you in this water and in to a better mood."
She felt bad that he felt as though she was in a bad mood – she wasn't, she was just second guessing her body; it had never betrayed her before but now… she sighed.
He got in to the water first and reached out, dragging her in. She had to admit, it felt amazing to submerge herself in to the weightless, cool water. She sighed, forgetting about her insecurities. Trevor pulled her in deeper, holding her close. "How's that?"
"Amaziiiing," she breathed. "You are the best husband to be…" He swam in circles around her before pulling her against him from behind. She leaned in to him, lifting her legs, feeling his arms wrapped beneath her chest, dragging her to the deep end of the pool.
He listened to her chuckle as she yielded to his affections.
/
Olivia groaned and picked up the phone. It had been going off all day and all she wanted to do was to sleep for the pain that was in her back and the children who didn't seem to stop fighting all of a sudden.
"Sorry Cap," it was Carisi, "this is the last time I'll call you today, I swear." He promised.
"Its alright, honey," she replied. "What's up?"
"I'm trying to approve the statements in bulk and it's not letting me, is there something I have to do, or do I have to go through them and do them all individually?"
"Oh," she chuckled, "welcome to my world, the pain –you have to do it individually so the system is satisfied that you have checked them all thoroughly. Be careful because it also logs the amount of time you spend looking over something so if something gets audited they'll see you approved it without looking."
"I looked when it was on my desk," he groaned, "that's so irritating, okay Cap, all good. How do you manage to get all this done?" he asked.
She laughed, "I open the statements maybe five at a time, do something else for 15 or so minutes and then come and submit them all – otherwise I'd literally get nothing done."
"Thanks Captain, sorry I know you're not feeling the best, I can hear it."
"Its okay Sonny, I told you to call me anytime and I mean it," she replied.
"Trevor's leaving tomorrow, right?" he asked, "so… Erika and I could come and help with the kids if you like?" he offered.
She smiled, "I'll be okay, Sonny, I promise. But if I need help I'll call.. he's only gone for three nights."
"Okay, are you still coming to the birthday dinner tonight?" he asked with a chuckle.
"Ugh, yes…" she muttered, "I am dreading it."
"Me too, between you and me… I have heard stories and I'm really nervous about this woman… I don't want to lose my cool."
"Me either," she was able to laugh, "and last time I almost did. Just brace yourself, she's emotionally manipulative and has a way of turning compliments in to insults." Olivia warned him. "Just be there to assure Erika and don't be afraid to put her back in place, I know I'm not."
"I'm just careful of offending anyone," he replied, "I certainly don't want to upset Trevor."
"You leave Trev to me, your first priority is Erika, be supportive, I can't stress how much she needs that from you," Olivia told him.
"Thanks Liv," he replied, "I'll see you tonight."
"Good luck, call me if you need."
/
"How are you going, sweetie?" Trevor asked as they stood outside of the restaurant. "Are you okay?"
She nodded. She felt confident, happy and happy to have a night out with Trevor before he was off on a work trip. She was wearing a calf length black maternity dress with sheer material covering her arms and and lining the hem. She just wanted to enjoy her time with the kids and Trevor together and hoped that with everyone in attendance, things would go off without a hitch.
"Yeah baby, I'm okay, you?" she asked.
He smiled at her and nodded.
He kissed her cheek and slipped an arm around her. "Okay kids," he spoke to them, "I want to see your best manners, tonight, alright?" he warned them. He glanced to Elly who he had balanced on his hip and then glanced down to Noah who was holding Olivia's hand.
They both nodded. "I want to see you both eat most of your dinner and you can choose a dessert if you're both well-behaved and polite, okay?" Olivia added.
"Yeahhhh," Noah pumped his fist with excitement.
Trevor looked at Liv, she could see the reservation on his face. She knew he was nervous about introducing Noah to his mother. She was too, but she knew Noah would be on his best behavior and take it like a trooper if Joan was mean to him.
Trevor held the door open while they all entered first. He took Olivia's hand and guided her to where he could see his mother waving. Erika hadn't arrived yet. Joan stood up to greet her son.
"Hi Mom, Happy birthday." Trevor smiled at her, leaning over to give his mother a hug and a kiss.
"Happy birthday Grandma!" Eloise exclaimed, excitedly, throwing herself at her grandma. Joan picked her up and gave her a kiss.
"Hi sweetie! Thank you so much!" Joan greeted Eloise.
Olivia smiled and gave Trevor's Mom a kiss on the cheek. "Hi Joan, nice to see you again, happy birthday" she tried to be as polite and as amiable as possible.
"Thank you, Olivia," she glanced down at her stomach and put her hand on it, still holding on to her granddaughter, "I can't wait to meet my grandson!" she said, "how many more weeks?" she wondered.
"Just a few, just under a month," Olivia smiled.
"She's 36 weeks as of yesterday," Trevor supplied, "but Mom, I want you to meet Noah." He held his hand out to Noah who was hiding behind Liv's legs, shy. He took Trevor's hand reluctantly. Trevor picked him up. "Noah this is my Mommy, her name is Joan, but you can call her Grandma too if you like."
"Hello Noah," Joan smiled warmly at him. To her credit, Olivia sensed that Trevor's mother would be nothing but kind to her son. "I've been so excited to meet you! Dad has told me all about you!"
Both Liv and Trevor smiled while Noah looked to his parents back to Joan awkwardly. "Well go on," Liv encouraged him, "say hello to Joan."
"Hello," Noah smiled bashfully and rested his head on Trevor's shoulder.
Trevor handed over a bag of gifts and took seats. Noah stayed comfortably on Trevor's lap with Joan at the head with Eloise with her and Trevor to her left while Olivia sat on the other side of Trevor. "Mom," Trevor began, looking around to make sure Erika wasn't around, "Go easy on Ez tonight, okay? I mean it-"
She went to say something, "No," he held up his hand, "she organized this tonight and she's trying really hard so you need to try too. If things get heated, We are taking the kids and we are going home, so keep any nasty comments to yourself."
Looking slighted, Joan rose an eyebrow and stared her son down but eventually looked away first.
She changed the subject and turned to Olivia, "Sweetheart, you are glowing at the moment, are you all prepared?"
"Mostly," Olivia replied, "Trevor's off to Pennsylvania tomorrow for a few days for work and then we finally move in to the new house and we can all breathe and wait for the baby."
Joan looked to Trevor and then to Olivia pointedly. "I don't know, you look ready to pop any day," she replied.
"No, he has to wait," she replied with a laugh. "He can't come now."
"Grandma, I get to see my brother soon!" Eloise announced.
Joan went to reply but Eloise yelled out Erika's name. She was about to run toward her auntie but Trevor grabbed her. "Wait!" he said firmly, "the restaurant is not for running!"
Erika grinned at her neice and nephew and made a beeline toward them with her arms out. Trevor finally released Eloise. "Elly! Noah! My babies!" Noah slipped off his lap and made her way to Erika. She crouched down to meet their level, pushing her handbag aside.
"Hello!" she greeted them, kissing Noah's cheek. Noah excitedly broke away from Erika and greeted Sonny who picked him up and gave him a hug. "Uncle Sonny, I was so excited to see you! I told alllll of my friends."
"What!" Carisi grinned, "That is the nicest thing anyone has said to me all day!" he hugged him, squatting down to pick up Eloise too.
Erika greeted her Mom and wished her a happy birthday. She waited for Sonny to set the kids back down. "Hi Mrs. Langan, I'm Dominic Carisi, but everyone calls me Sonny."
"Hello Sonny," Trevor's mother smiled, appraising the tall lean detective who was still wearing his grey suit from work. "its lovely to meet you."
"You too," he replied.
They all got seated and Trevor ordered a round of drinks and they made small talk. Surprisingly, Joan did as Trevor asked and kept her comments to herself. She even complimented Erika at a certain point and boasted to Sonny about how smart she was.
Olivia could tell her sister-in-law was over the moon. She was relieved that dinner went off without a hitch, she wasn't sure she could handle any drama.
"Guys we should get going…" Trevor piped up, the kids were getting tired and he knew the way Olivia kept resting her head on his shoulder that she was tired too. "I need to get these three to bed," he joked.
Trevor excused himself to use the bathroom and took care of the bill. Olivia watched Trevor and Sonny squabble over it as they walked outside.
"Mom, Sonny and I will drop you off at your apartment on our way home, you can't get a cab on your own at this time," Erika offered.
"Its okay, I'll be fine," she replied.
Erika insisted and Joan looked pleased that her daughter was making such a fuss over her. Trevor and Olivia shared a little smile. Olivia only hoped that their mother continued to behave after Trevor was taken out of the equation.
They all said their goodbyes and Olivia was excited to get home and get her shoes off.
/
Olivia watched Trevor put the last of his things aside for his trip in the morning. She didn't want to make it harder but she was sad that he was leaving.
"Are you doing okay babe?" he asked as he got close to where she was sitting at the end of the bed, watching him, halfway undressed from dinner. She was sitting in her underwear with her sleeping shirt beside her that looked like she had become too exhausted to put on.
She pouted at him, "I know you're not going til tomorrow but I already miss you and I miss having sex with you and its making me feel frustrated and sad."
A smile spread across Trevor's lips. "I'm gonna miss you too… but you should take Erika up on her offer and have her come and stay here while I'm gone."
"I can manage the kids, Trev," she murmured. She pushed herself up off of the bed and took her bra off and left it at the foot of the bed, covering her breasts with her hands. They ached and felt heavy. Trevor picked up her bra and put it away.
"Baby, are you mad at me?" he asked.
"I just told you that I missed having sex and you smiled at me… like you're amused."
"Aww no," he replied, watching her take her shirt and turn her back to him to slip it over her head. "I'm sorry," he said quickly, coming up behind her, wrapping her arms around her. "I just think you are being so sweet. I miss having sex too but its okay, the priority is the baby and we'll resume things as we're supposed to when the time is right… I think you need to get as much sleep as possible and I'll wake you up early tomorrow."
She nodded.
"I love you." She replied, turning to him.
She climbed in to bed and enjoyed the comfort of laying down. Trevor dressed down too and set his alarm and turned all the lights out but his bedside lamp.
"My back hurts so much," she sighed and he could tell she was in a lot of pain.
"Scale of 1-10?" he asked.
"A 9…" she murmured.
"Why don't you roll over and I'll give you a back rub, I know it might not make the pain away but it might be relaxing enough for you to sleep," he suggested. "And I really think Erika should come and stay, it'd make me feel so much better."
"Okay…" she agreed, not wanting him to worry about her. She shifted over carefully on to her side, allowing Trevor access to her back so that he could massage it for her.
She felt him get closer and slip his hand beneath the cotton of her shirt. "Close your eyes honey," he told her, "only 4 days and I'll be home and you'll be almost one week closer to getting this baby out."
She was able to chuckle. "I'm ready for him to come out now…" she sighed, "I've suffered enough."
Trevor joined her, laughing. "It'll all be worth it in the end," he replied.
"I know, I'm just kidding. I am complaining a lot and I'm miserable but that's because I feel uncomfortable, other than that, I'm happy to be having your baby—really happy."
She felt him press his lips against the back of her neck.
"You're probably just giving birth to a giant baby," he joked, "I mean, us Langan men are very tall men, I was a big baby too."
"Great," Olivia replied with a laugh, "that's just what I need, damage to my vagina."
They both laughed. "Close your eyes babe, get some rest… Lucy will be here to take Noah in the morning and I'll bring Eloise in here to be with you."
"Its okay, I'll get up to see you off," she replied. "I might go back to bed later, we'll see."
"Okay," he agreed, absently rubbing her back. "I love you so much," he told her, "I hate that I have to go, but I'm gonna do my best to get back to you as quickly as I can because this will literally be the longest time we've spent away from one another."
"I know… I won't get to see your face for four days…"
"I won't see yours…" he murmured, thinking about how much he was going to miss her.
"Sweetie, I am going to say something and it's totally out of insecurity so don't be mad okay?"
"Okay?" he braced himself.
She rolled slightly so she could see his face. "Please just don't… misplace my trust."
"What?" he stared for a second, wondering what she was getting at when it finally dawned on him. "What do you mean? Do you think I'm going to cheat?"
Suddenly her eyes filled with tears and she began to apologize. "I'm being stupid, I know… I just know what it means when someone goes away for work," she thought of Cassidy and what she had to endure there.
At first Trevor felt offended at first but with her past and his thoughts fleeting to Cassidy and his UC work, he immediately softened. "Baby…" he breathed. He went to speak but Olivia stopped him.
"I'm sorry," she apologized, "I just am scared-" she paused and collected herself, "I've been such a pain in the ass and I can't have sex properly without it being awkward and uncomfort-"
"Liv, please-" he tried to stop her but she was on a roll.
"I'm not very attractive and I'm-"
"Stop," he said gently, but in a firm tone. "Please, just stop-"
Her words trailed mid-sentence and she reached up to wipe her eyes. "Sorry," she whispered.
"I know you're scared, I can see you're scared," he told her meaningfully, "and I don't want to dismiss it, Olivia," he added, kissing her cheek, taking her hand as she eased back around to face him. He tried to give her an encouraging smile. "I know you were hurt and betrayed by what Cassidy did while he was," Trevor made lazy air quote, 'at work,'" he told her, "but you know my background with Helena," he brushed the tears from her cheeks, letting his eyes search hers, "I'm not a cheater and I would never put our whole relationship and our family at risk for the sake of a cheap night with someone that I won't ever feel for like I do for you."
"I know that," she sighed, "but I'm still scared."
"You love and trust me, I know that," he said, "and I know that you don't believe I'll cheat, but I think you're really emotional because of the hormones and you need constant reassurance which I'm happy to give you," he told her, "I'll be calling you every night to Facetime because I will be missing you as much as you'll be missing me."
She nodded, knowing he was being honest.
"Okay?" he wanted to make sure she was taking in his words.
"K…"
"And when I'm back, you can lay back on the couch like a lady of leisure while the rest of us move the apartment and you can bark orders and we'll feed you snacks and you'll be treated like the absolute queen you are."
She was finally able to smile, her eyes glassy again. "I love you, I'm sorry. I want to be fun to be around again…"
Trevor chuckled. "You are fun to be around, its just that you're having all this self-awareness… but I love you and I don't mind, but I just wish that you'd give yourself a break."
She nodded again.
"Come here, Liv…" he waited for her to scoot closer until her belly touched his. He leaned over her and kissed her lips. He took her hand and laced his fingers with hers, resting on her belly. Liv almost jumped at the feel of the baby kicking.
They both shared a smile in the dim light of his bedside lamp. "See?" he grinned at her, "this is the reminder, baby, Teddy is reminding us that these last few hard yards are for him… and if you weren't getting bigger it'd mean he isn't getting bigger. He's going to be happy and healthy and we are going to have an amazing time becoming parents again and navigating that experience together."
Olivia smiled, feeling the baby kick again. "I do love to feel him kicking even if that means I have to pee every ten minutes."
He laughed. "I love to feel him moving too," Trevor replied. "It's so exciting and I am so excited to carry him in my arms…. Not long to go, my lovely one…" he promised her.
"I know… and then it starts to get real," she chuckled. "my boobs will no longer be your boobs…" she added with a weary smile.
"Uh-uh," he shook his head, "they'll always be my boobs," he replied, tucking his head down and kissing the area just above the valley of her breasts.
They both laughed.
"Good night my heart…" she let her voice trail.
"Night baby," he replied. "I love you with all of my heart."
"Me too," she whispered as they kissed. Trevor broke away and turned off the lamp.
/
"FREEZE!" Olivia rose her voice, "Stop right this second, both of you!"
Both of the children stopped what they were doing and looked up at her- shock, panic and guilt crossing both of their faces. If she wasn't so tired and so annoyed with their constant bickering and fighting she might have been amused.
"What are you both doing?" she demanded to know.
"I'm sorry Mommy!" Noah exclaimed, dissolving immediately in to tears.
She glanced at Eloise and to the elaborate painting on the wall. "I told you both no! No painting!" she tried hard to not yell but the mess on the wall was so infuriating given that they were supposed to move houses in just a few days.
Both kids had a paint pot in front of them and had paint up their arms and a brush perched in-hand – or in Eloise's case, two.
"Noah Benson, you should absolutely know better!" she snapped at him, "and you!" she shook her head at Eloise, "you have paint everywhere, all over your face and your pajamas!"
"Give me those." She took the brushes from them, "both of you get in to the bathroom, right now. I'm not messing around."
She let the kids go and leaned over to put the lid on the paints and put them away. She tried to calm down before she went to see them. She drew in a deep breath. Black paint smeared over her hand, irritating her further as she took the brushes to the bathroom with her.
"Right," she began, "I want you both to be absolutely silent. I'm very upset with the both of you," she informed them. She washed her own hands and rinsed out the paint brushes in the sink before picking up a wash cloth and rinsing it with warm water while both kids cried.
She ignored their tears, too angry to soften with them right away. She took the cloth and grabbed Noah's hands, wiping the paint off as best she could and then heading over to Eloise and wiping the paint off of her face. She had a long stripe of red across her cheek and a smear of black under her chin. She wiped her hands off and then rinsed the cloth.
She glanced at her watch and saw that it was still a bit early for bed.
"Both of you are in time out. We are going to the living room and I am putting the TV on. No devices. You are both going to sit and be still and not move from the couch. Do you understand?"
There were sniffles and nods.
"But Mommy—" Eloise began, "I don't wa-"
"E-nough," Olivia said sternly, "No 'But Mommy', I'm very angry. Let's go, downstairs!"
Once the kids were settled, Olivia left them in the living room while she cleaned up the kitchen and allowed herself the time to calm down.
She picked up her phone and dialed Trevor, hoping that he was available to chat.
/
He sat at the desk in his hotel suite, desperately trying to finish of the case notes so that he could get home a day earlier. He was done with Pennsylvania. He'd visited a chocolate shop for Olivia and work and was tired. He wanted to get home and get an early start on moving.
He heard his phone vibrating and picked it up immediately, noticing Liv's face filling up the screen. He smiled as he brought the phone to his ear.
"Hi sweetheart, how are you?"
"Hi baby," she replied – her tone was flat and he could tell she was just over it all. "I just need to unload for a second, sorry, is that okay?" she asked.
"Of course, what's up?" he cradled the phone between his ear and shoulder and capped off his pen and leaned back in to his desk chair.
"I almost lost it so bad with the kids just now," she breathed, "And I hate that I raised my voice and ignored them when they were both crying … but shit, Trevor, I've never been so angry with them."
"What did they do?" he wondered, a little concerned.
"They wanted to paint but I said no, it was too late, they'd already had a bath. I was just finishing up putting some things from the cupboard in to boxes and I thought they were a bit quiet so I checked in and ….. there's a mural all over Eloise's bedroom wall. Paint everywhere."
"Shit," Trevor sighed, "Does this mean we're going to have to paint Eloise's room before we leave?" he asked.
"I guess so," she sighed. "I marched them in to the bathroom, Noah broke first," she managed a laugh, "that kid would be the worst in an interrogation, he'd rat out his co-conspirator in half a second." Trevor laughed. "Elly cried too and I washed their hands and faces and forced them in to the living room where they are sitting like delightful angels, too afraid to move."
Trevor laughed. "Oh honey, you sound fed up."
"They have been monsters today," she told him, "just constant fighting, not doing as I ask, taking forever to do everything," she sighed, "I know they're going to have days like this, but I'm just being a shit Mom."
"Nah," Trevor replied, "You don't have your support guy there," he smiled to himself, "if I was home, I'd be chasing them around, it's okay if you're frustrated, they're just testing the waters cos I'm not there," he told her.
"I know… sorry I didn't mean to call and be a downer, I just needed to vent and I already feel a bit better. I don't want to be mean to them but I want them to know that that behavior is unacceptable."
"You're not a downer and they do need to know that you mean business… what are they watching?" he wanted to know.
"I put Toy Story on…"
"Okay," Trevor told her, "Baby put me on FaceTime, I want to talk with them both."
Olivia smiled and put the phone on FaceTime. She grinned at him when his face came in to view. "Hello handsome," she greeted him.
"Sweetheart, hellooooo" he smiled softly at her, speaking slowly. "You look gorgeous, I've missed your face."
"I missed yours," she chuckled, so happy to see him smile. He looked tired too. "Have you been sleeping?" she wondered.
"Yeah, but I'm working late," he turned his camera around to show her all the open files scattered around.
"MMm as interesting as that is, I want to see your face." She waited a second and saw his face fill the screen again. They smiled at one another for a moment before she sighed with contentment. "Okay baby, I feel better already…"
"Me too," he replied. "How about you put me on to the kids and then when they go to bed, you can FaceTime me again and we can have a better chat without you having to worry about what they're doing."
She went in to the living room and picked up the remote. "Hey guys," she greeted them, pressing pause. Both kids looked up at her with wide eyes, wondering if they were still in trouble. "Daddy is on the phone and he wants to say hello."
"Scoot over," she told them. They were sitting side-by-side. They both made room for her between them and Olivia sat down holding the phone out. "Okay, Dad, I've got Noah and Elly ready to talk…"
"Hi guys!" he greeted them as they both got in close to Olivia so that they were in frame. "I miss you both!"
"We miss you tooooo Daddy!" Eloise exclaimed, but Noah still seemed a little gun-shy, still upset about being in trouble.
"Hey Noah, how are you going, bud?" he asked.
"I'm Okay Daddy," he replied.
"Hey guys, listen—Mom told me you were doing something earlier that you shouldn't have been doing—" Trevor began. Olivia hid a smile, both kids got very quiet. "I asked you guys when I left to be on your best behavior and Mom's telling me that's not what's happening and it makes me really disappointed."
"I'm sorry Daddy," Noah replied.
"Don't be sorry to me, be sorry to Mommy, she told you no when you asked to paint and you did it anyway, both of you… that's not listening," he told them both, "and that's not behaving or doing as you're asked. So, I know you're both on time-out and I don't think you need me to get angry with you again, but if Mom has to call me again, I will be really upset, you got it?"
They both nodded solemnly.
"Great," he said with a smile. "Now, let's put it all behind us and I want you to both think about why you got in to trouble and apologize to Mommy before you go to bed."
"Okay," they both chorused.
"Great. Now, it's almost bed time, so I'm gonna go and finish my work now and I'm going to speak to you both tomorrow, okay?"
"Yes Daddy," they both agreed.
He said goodnight to the kids and Olivia got up and headed out of the room, telling the kids they had bed time in ten minutes.
/
"Thank you for that," she breathed a content sigh, ignoring the pain in her lower back again, almost a cramp. "I love you, thanks for being the best."
He smiled, "You are the best. Call me when the kids are in bed."
"Oooft," she responded to his grin, "if only you were home and I wasn't 8 months huge with a baby in me…"
"I'd be putting another baby in you," he laughed cheekily.
"Don't!" she laughed, "you are too much and you have no idea how bad I've wanted to just-" she stopped and gave her head a shake. "I better let you go while I put these kids to bed."
"Okay babe, call me back soon, okay? I love you."
"Love you too," she blew him a little kiss before she hung up.
/
Noah cuddled Liv tightly. "I'm sorry Mommy, I didn't want to make you angry."
"Its okay, my love," she replied. "We can talk about it tomorrow, I'm not angry anymore. Mommy is just so tired because your brother is almost fully grown and it hurts after a little while to carry him around inside my belly…"
"I don't want him to hurt you," he pouted.
Liv smiled, placing her hand over her unborn, "Its alright, it's not the kind of pain that makes me want to cry, its just the kind of pain that makes me tired," she explained.
"I will be so excited when I see that baby. I will help you Mommy, so you're not tired anymore and when you are sore because you are holding him, I will hold him to give you a rest."
Olivia beamed at her son. "I love you, you are going to be my big helper, I can't wait for you to meet your brother… You are going to love him so much!"
She kissed his forehead and said goodnight.
She turned out his light and checked to make sure Eloise was asleep.
/
Trevor was in bed reading the news on his phone when he saw Olivia calling again.
He smiled and picked up her call.
"Oooooft that's playing dirty!" she exclaimed when she saw his face; his eyes covered by her favorite pair of glasses that he owned, a set of clear frames.
"What?!" he laughed, looking at her in her. She was wearing her red maternity bra that made her chest look huge. "You're the one playing dirty, all I can see is cleavage."
"You know how hot I think you are in your glasses… and that beard," she smiled. "You look good…" her voice trailed. "I miss you."
"I miss you too…" he murmured. "I can't stop thinking about you tonight," he admitted. "I've been looking up some sex angles," he laughed in spite of himself.
"Find anything better than the other ones?"
He shrugged, "I guess if we can't have sex, I could at least bury my face between your legs…" he told her bluntly.
"Stop it," she held her hand over her face. "I can't have this conversation, Trevor, I haven't had sex with you properly for nearly 4 weeks… this is bullshit. You have no idea how sexually frustrated I am."
"There's always the shower head," he winked.
"That's not doing it for me right now," she replied regretfully. "I need you."
"Maybe…" his voice trailed off, "you should… take off your bra," he suggested as though he would be unsure of her response to such a request.
"No way, champ, these boobs are far too huge and sore without restraint and my nips are so huge right now that they look like flying saucers and I'm afraid I'll let an alien out to abduct you…"
Trevor threw his head back and laughed at her silliness. He had missed this, that fun, lightness between the two of them; of Olivia being herself without the insecurity.
"Welllllll at least show me a little," he pushed gently.
"I will give you a little eyeful," she winked. She had planned on giving him something before she called and had put on nicer underwear for his benefit.
He watched her lower the camera to her chest. She unzipped the zipper that held the fabric together at the front of her chest to allow him a little more to look at.
"Okay….better show me what underwear you have on too, so I have a visual aid." He paused, "And for science, obviously."
Olivia chuckled. She kicked off the covers and turned slightly to show him the matching bottoms.
"Nice…" he replied as she focused the phone back on her face. "You are looking sexy as always, making me hard as a rock…"
"Uh-uh," she shook her head, smiling at his serious expression. She could tell the conversation was degenerating, but she didn't mind. It was better than nothing. "I'll need proof of that."
"Well, I'm not wearing anything over here, I don't want to surprise you with a dick pic."
She smirked, "you think your penis shocks me?" she asked him, "do you think I am ready to pop this baby out because I haven't got any idea about your penis?" She paused, "I think we can agree I've seen your penis at every which angle…" she gave him a little wink but laughed.
"Stop saying penis," he laughed too, "you're making it weird."
"Just… be fair to me. I haven't seen your erect penis for far too long and I miss you both," she smiled, tucking a lock of hair behind her ear.
"Is this okay?" he asked, second guessing himself, "I kinda feel like—I don't want to be sleazy or disrespectful-"
"Trevor, if this is you being a sleaze or disrespecting me, I'm fine with it. Now…give me my visual aid."
He chuckled. "Okay, okay…" he agreed, "is there any way in the world where I can make this look hot?" he asked, "or is it just going to be a screen full of flesh?" he wondered bashfully.
She saw him moving, getting up from his bed and a light went on. She smiled at him, thinking of how quick he was to ask to see her boobs, but how reluctant he was to show much of himself.
Finally, the camera flipped and she was treated to an angle of her husband-to-be that made her want to jump through the screen. "Wow…" she murmured, her voice lowering. He was sitting on the side of the bed, a vanity mirror in front of less than 6 feet away mounted to the wall. His legs were slightly spread apart; his erection sprung to life, he was sitting up straight and avoiding looking at himself, embarrassed.
"I am the luckiest woman alive…" she told him, letting her eyes sweep over him. He wasn't lying, he had a full erection and she was regretful that she could do nothing to help him out with that.
"I wish I was there…" she told him, "I'd at least be able to touch you or help you out with it somehow-"
He smiled at her. Olivia took a screen shot for herself and smiled back. "I just need you to know I took a screen shot," she told him.
He laughed in shock. "Liv! You should delete that, anyone could come across it."
"I have a hidden album … it's fine, I'll delete it when you get home but right now I need something to keep these home embers lit," she joked.
Trevor laughed. "Can I lay back down now? Are you done brazenly staring?" he wondered.
"Sure…" she replied and watched him get back in to bed and switch out the light. He laid back on the pillow and tucked an arm behind his head and watched her, longingly.
"Trev?" she began, feeling a dull, welcomed little ache between her legs for him and a desire that was almost overwhelming.
"Yes?"
"I really want you…" her voice trailed off with the tone that he knew to be unmistakable. He knew what she wanted and how much she craved him – it was a constant subject of their discussions.
"I want you too, baby…" he knew he had to do something, "what are you doing right now?" he asked, but a sudden thought blurted out, preventing her from answering. "Remember you told me that last time I went away that while we were talking, you were touching yourself?"
Olivia felt her cheeks flush, "Vaguely," she coughed.
Trevor laughed, "You were so blunt about that, but now suddenly you wanna get cute and shy…."
"Well… what are you asking of me?" she wanted to know.
He was usually pretty confident but phone sex wasn't really anything he'd partaken in before and it felt a little clumsy and silly, but he knew if they could get past the awkwardness, it'd be fine. He reached down between his legs, wrapping his hands around his member, tensing slightly at his own touch. He stared at her for a moment.
"I'm pretending my hand is yours right now…" he pushed the words from his mouth, scooting down to get a little more comfortable. "And I really wish it was…"
A faint smile crossed her lips as she watched his eyes fall shut briefly. "If I could reach myself properly…" she chuckled, her voice suggestive and a little regretful.
"I think I can help you out with that-" he murmured.
"How?" she asked, turned on by the bass in his tone and the way she watched his chest muscles contracting.
"I uh… I got you something a short while ago and I was too chicken to give it to you, I thought—I guess I wasn't sure if it was too much," he told her.
"What is it?" she asked, her interest piqued.
"You'll need to get up and go in to the closet." He waited for her to slowly make her way in to their closet. "Go to my side," he told her, "on the left, second shelf, it's under a couple of pairs of jeans."
Olivia slipped her hand beneath the material of his jeans as Trevor waited with a little anxiety at how she might respond.
Olivia's hands settled upon something that felt a little soft and slippery. With a surprised laugh, she pulled the small, object out. It was made of flexible silicone. It was small and tasteful and she knew it would get the job done and was immediately excited by the thought of him going out and buying it for her.
"Wow!" she exclaimed, "you got this for me?" she asked him, showing him her face.
"Yeah…. Back when it started to get uncomfortable to have sex but… I wasn't sure—"
"Trevor…" she breathed, taking it back with her to the bedroom. "Just relax, baby, I'm cool with this, I don't feel weird or objectified or embarrassed. I miss you, I really ache for sex, I just want some release and … maybe when you get home…" she smiled, pushing the words from her mouth bashfully, "maybe you could try it on me…"
He grinned at her. "Of course I can do that… it's actually kinda of a hot idea, to be honest." He watched her move back in to their bedroom. "Now, maybe get yourself nice and comfortable—" he directed her and finally she heard the confidence fill his voice that she longed to hear.
He waited a few moments for her to settle. "Why don't you turn it on and find a setting you like…" he suggested.
Olivia messed around with the settings for a moment until she found a light one. Trevor grinned, watching her concentrate. "Got it?" he asked, hearing the soft buzz in the background.
"I think so…" she replied.
"Is this whole thing turning you on or does it feel a little silly?" he wondered.
"Baby, you just showed me your hard-on and you lead me to a vibrator, I am so turned on," she chuckled.
He laughed a throaty laugh too. "You should just… run those soft vibrations between your legs over your pants…just to make sure you're really in to this," he suggested gently.
"Is that what you want me to do?" she asked him softly.
He nodded.
She slowly reached down, doing as he said, pushing the small vibrator down between her thighs, caressing herself with it as it pulsated over her apex. It made her heart race and her head became full with all the things she wished she could do to him; that he could do to her.
"How does it feel?" he wanted to know.
"Amazing," she replied without hesitation. "Do you want to see?" she asked.
He was taken by surprise but his rock-hard member twitched at the idea. "Ooh, I sure do…" he murmured. He watched her angle the phone screen so that he could watch her drawing the vibrator back and forth, from front to back.
"Shit baby…" she heard him curse, "I would have those pants off in half a second and my tongue in that exact spot…" he told her. She gave a soft sigh of pleasure which didn't go unnoticed.
Once she pulled the phone back up to her face, she couldn't mistake the look of desire all over his face. "Are you touching yourself too?" she asked.
He treated her to an angle of himself as he ran his hand slowly back and forth along his shaft. "Yeah…."
"Do it like I would…" she told him, "slowly, don't rush…rub your thumb over your head…"
Trevor chuckled, "You just concentrate on what you're doing there…" he told her, "It's enough to touch myself thinking about what you're doing over there… by far the sexiest woman in the world…" he told her.
She smiled, happy to be so comfortable with him. "Are you wet for me?" he asked her curiously.
"Ha…" she laughed, "yes…"
"Take off your underwear and turn the speed up…"
"Yeah, I don't think I can draw this out?" she laughed. "This is a lot…"
"I better catch up, here you are telling me to take my time."
They both laughed.
She struggled for a second to remove her underwear but settled, slipping the vibrator inside of herself. Trevor could tell from her face at the very moment she had began using it for its intended purpose.
Her eyes clamped shut and all the tension from her face fell away.
"Good?" he asked softly.
"Yeah..." she nodded, a little breathlessly.
"Honey, I'm taking you off FaceTime, I want you to put the phone against your ear and you can pretend I'm next to you…"
She wasn't in any condition to argue. It was easier this way, she thought, she could rest the phone by her pillow and listen rather than trying to concentrate and hold it at a particular angle so he could see her face and chest.
She put her phone down right by her ear. He was right, it was better.
"Tell me what you're doing…" he commanded in a gentle way, one that allowed her to know she could protest.
"I'm sliding it in and out of me…" she told him boldly, feeling intoxicated and heady and an intense feeling of satisfaction as she felt the blood rushing through her veins, making her throb in that one spot beneath her opening. She knew if she let the vibrator spend too long there, she would orgasm instantly.
"Oooh," he chuckled, "you sound so hot," he told her, stroking himself. He closed his eyes and tried to imagine her using it, watching her take control of matters. He could hear her shallow breathing; every now and then a soft whimper of pleasure escaping her mouth.
"Are you still touching yourself?" she asked.
"Uhuh," he replied, "I am so turned on… all I can think about his sliding my cock inside of you."
"Yeah?" Olivia challenged him, "would you go fast or slow?" she wondered.
"Slow at first, so I can enjoy how warm and ready you are," he felt his breath catch. Her voice was sluggish and her breathing was ragged. "And then I'd move faster because I know how difficult it's been and how when you want me, you want me to go as deep as I can…"
"Mmmmm…." A throaty and soft moan erupted in to the silent air.
"I want to hear you come…" he told her bluntly, "I want you to find that spot and run the vibe over it slowly, imagine it's my tongue and I want you to keep going until you come so hard…"
"Fuck Trevor, what are you trying to do to me when you talk like that?" she was able to laugh, releasing some tension.
He laughed too, "I just want you to feel good," he said simply.
"I know and that's why I love the shit out of you…" she replied, pressing the vibrator softly over her opening, getting used to the tiny, intense waves of pleasure it created.
"Deep breaths," he warned her as he worked on himself.
"I think I'm about to come…" she told him.
"Go, baby," he told her, "turn the speed up, make it more intense…"
She did as he said, switching the speed just slightly, giving it more pressure against the place where all the nerve endings met, creating a spark within her that made her dizzy at first until that familiar feeling took over; the feeling she hadn't experienced in almost a month.
"Are you coming?" he asked.
He could tell that he had his answer by her labored breathing and the whimpers she made against the speaker of the phone. She gasped a few times and cursed as her body reacted to the vibrations. Her whole body involuntarily trembled as she felt the warmth of her orgasm pooling between her legs. Trevor could tell she was still going by her inability to speak.
"Breathe baby…" he chuckled, "don't forget to breathe…"
"Fuck, Trevor…" she breathed his name and he wasn't going to lie, it was hot. He was close too.
He heard the buzzing stop and he heard her trying to catch her breath. "You good baby?" he asked.
"Yeah… hows your erection going over there?" she asked breathless and shaky, "I can't wait for us to start doing this again for real…" She gave a laugh. "Wow…" she sighed, feeling her body calm, trying to rid the fuzzy feeling from her brain.
"Me either…" he murmured.
"Want me to tell you what I'm going to do to you the first night I'm able to?" she asked.
"Fuck yes," he sighed. "tell me…"
"Well…. I'd probably want to go down on you, kissing my way down those beautiful pecs, covering you with my mouth, making sure you feel my tongue on the way down just so you can think about what it's going to feel like when its wrapped around your erection."
"Holy shit, baby, you are way better at this than me…" he laughed, "I'm gonna need to up my phone sex game."
They both laughed lightly but Olivia continued, on a one track to make sure he was able to come too.
"I'd wrap my hand around you and guide you in to my warm mouth, licking my way around you, tasting you with my tongue and flicking it over your smooth head…"
She heard his breathing become a little deeper and louder.
"When I feel you start tensing up, I'll make my way back up to you and I'll climb on top of you, feeling your cock sliding in to me as I lower myself down on it… holding on to your shoulders, digging my fingers in, the deeper you get."
"Olivia…" his voice trailed. She grinned to herself. "Don't stop," he murmured, "I'm close."
"I'd rock back and forth on top of you and when I get tired I'll ask you to hold on to my hips to help me along," she told him. "I'll ask you to roll me over and let you put me in to any position that you want…" she spoke slow and softly, enjoying the sounds of his pleasure.
"Yessss…" he hissed. "I would bury myself so deep in you over and over and over…" his voice trailed and she knew by his grunt and his loud moan of relief followed by heavy breathing that he was done.
"Until we both come…" she finished for him.
She gave him a moment to calm down, telling him how gorgeous he was.
He laughed and cursed out loud in pleasure, "You, my sweet Olivia, are a good – no, a great sport."
She laughed too. "I feel so relaxed, I can't even tell you what a relief it felt like…"
"Good!" he exclaimed. "Me too, shit," he was still catching his breath. "I need to get home quick smart so that I can get you on a chair and put my mouth all over you…" he told her, "pregnant or not…"
"Yeah that sounds pretty sweet actually," she chuckled.
"Baby this is so unromantic but can I go and clean up and call you back in ten?"
She laughed, "Sure, how about I call you? I have to go to the bathroom, I'll text to make sure you're ready."
"Okay love you…"
"I love you", she replied.
