Chapter I :
The beginning of legends
Author's note:
Hey everybody. This is my first fanfic on Fanfiction. It's based on Brandon James' amazing fanfic 'My Golden Warrior'. I don't speak English so I'm sorry if there were any grammatical errors. Most of the story is dialogue. Some of the filler movies of DBZ will be canon. I do not own Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, Dragon Ball Super, or Boku no Hero Academia. Enjoy.
Mount Paozu
It's been 2 years since Trunks came from the future and warned Goku and the others from the androids. During this time, Goku and the others were busy training to fight these enemies before it's too late. But today is gonna be something different.
Goku: « Gohan, are you ready? »
Gohan: « Yes, dad. I'm coming right now. »
Today, Goku promised his only son Gohan to go camping with Krillin and the others.
Gohan: « I hope we will not be attacked again. » He said this while having a flashback of when Cooler and his armored squadron came to Earth to take their revenge from his father.
Goku: « Don't worry. Even if the worst happened, I will take you another time. »
Then, a 29-year old woman entered her son's room with books in her hands while saying: « Remember Gohan-san, even if you're not home, you should study to be smarter and to have a bright future. Not like ….. this man who devoted his whole life to training. » After hearing the words of his wife, all that Goku was able to do was just chuckling.
After preparing themselves, Goku and the others flew to the camping area. The place was so beautiful. Krillin and Oolong worked together to set up the tent while Goku was trying to hunt a fish.
Oolong (worried): « Man, this is the same scenario that happened last time before that Coomer guy or whatever was his name attacked us. Are you sure there aren't any villains near us, Goku? »
Goku: « Well, I'm not very sure but, relax, everything is gonna be fine. »
Krillin: « Hey Goku, where is Gohan? »
Goku: « I told him that he can go play in the woods. Who knows, maybe he can find some kids and make friends with them. »
Krillin: « O.K. then. »
The forest
Meanwhile, Gohan was having fun jumping from a tree to another, just like any ordinary kid. Suddenly, he heard a voice screaming for help. The half-Saiyan kid looked right and left and then he lifted his eyes up. He saw an 8-year old boy with green hair sitting on a tree branch. The child was screaming and crying in fear.
The boy: « Help! Help! Mumy! »
Gohan jumped high to him. When he first saw him, the kid was afraid but Gohan calmed him down.
Gohan: « Hey, don't worry. My name is Gohan, Son Gohan. What is yours? »
The boy : « Umm… I-I'm Izuku, Izuku Midoriya. »
Gohan : « Well, nice to meet you Izuku. By the way, what are you doing up here? »
Izuku: « It's just … One of my friends challenged me to claim this tree but then when I saw how high I got, I began to fear and … and I asked him to help me but … he just left me here. »
Gohan : « What ? This wasn't nice of him at all ! Well, do you want me to help you to get down? »
Izuku : « You can? »
Gohan : « Of course, otherwise, how did I get here. »
Izuku : « Oh, yes. I forgot. »
Gohan : « O.k. then. Hold on. »
Then, Gohan jumped down with Midoriya, who was surprised and afraid at the same time.
Izuku : « A-Amazing. You have an amazing quirk! »
Gohan : « Huh ? Oh, yes, of course, quirk. This was part of my quirk. »
Izuku (Enthusiastically): « So tell me: what is your quirk ? »
Gohan : « It's, umm, Ki. My quirk gives me the ability to do different things: flying, launching blast, locating people …. »
Izuku (not believing what he heard) : « This … is … the most … amazing … quirk … I had ever … knew! Are you really telling me the truth? I-I don't wanna say that you are a liar, but, well… »
Gohan : " Alright. Alright. Just calm down." At that moment, Gohan created a Ki ball in his hand.
The green haired kid looked at it in astonishment and admiration and said : « That's really cool! »
Suddenly, a man with an orange gi appeared in front of both of them while putting two fingers on his head. Midoriya jumped out of fear and hided behind Gohan, but he was surprised after he heard his new friend saying : « Dad .»
Goku : « Gohan, I finally found you. It looks like you made a friend. »
Gohan : « Oh, yes. Dad, this is my friend Izuku. »
Midoriya : « Hey sir, sorry because I thought you're a villain. »
Goku : « No problem, I think. However, it's nice to meet you. »
? : « Deku. » This voice made the poor boy freeze in his place.
Goku/Gohan : « Huh ? » When they looked towards the sound source, they saw a blond-haired kid who had an angry face. There was also two other kids who followed him like if he was their leader.
Izuku : « K-Kacchan. »
Gohan : « Midoriya, who is this boy ? And why did he call you Deku ? »
Izuku : « He is my friend that I told you about. As for the name, well… » Before he could finish, Katsuki Bakugo – or like he call him Kacchan – interrupted him : « It's another way to read his name and it means a useless person. »
Gohan : « Hey, that's not very nice of you ! »
Then, one of the two boys said while laughing : « And what do you want us to call someone who doesn't have a quirk ? He's only a weak boy who can't do anything. »
The other boy completed : « The only thing he's capable of is just crying like a baby. »
These words hurt Izuku's feelings and made him start crying. While Gohan tried to calm him down, Goku looked at the other kids with anger and said: « Alright, that's enough! Either you stop making fun of him or you'll all be in real trouble! » This voice and that scary face made the two boys jump out of fear, but not Bakougo who looked at him fearlessly and said: « You're not my father to tell me what to do, OK? One day, I will crush you like an insect because I'll beat be the number one hero with my quirk. » Then some pops appeared in his right hand as he continued his words: « Explosion. » And in an instant, he launched an explosion towards Midoriya with the intention of hurting him. But, as the dust cleared, he was shocked when he saw how Gohan took his attack without any damage. But what really scared him and made him and his comrades run away is how Goku appeared very close to him using Instant Transmission and said calmly: "Go away. Now." And of course, before he goes, he tells Deku that he'll kill him later when he'll be alone.
After calming the poor boy and being sure that the kids went away, Goku decided to leave the two friends to play a little more and went back to their tent.
While walking in the forest, Gohan asked his new friend: « So, Izuku, what are you doing here anyway? »
Izuku: « Oh, umm, my mom promised me to go camping together if I succeeded in my studies. What about you? »
Gohan: « My dad had also promised me to go camping with our friends because … last time we came, things didn't go very well. »
Then, a green-haired woman went towards the boys while calling little Izuku's name. She was none other than his kind mother.
Midoriya: « M-mummy! »
Inko : « Izuku, honey, where have you been? You made me worried about you! (then she took a look at Gohan) Oh, hey there little boy, what is your name? »
Gohan : « Oh, my name is Gohan. Son Gohan. »
Inko : « Gohan? » After hearing his name, Izuku's mother chuckled since Gohan means in Japanese 'cooked rice'.
Gohan : « Yes, I know. My name is a little bit funny. »
Inko : « No, no. It's just …. I'm glad that my son has found a friend for himself. »
Izuku (innocently): "So, would you like to play with me, Gohan?"
Gohan (responding): "Sure thing."
The two boys spent their time playing together and speaking about heroes and quirks. During their conversation, Gohan noticed that Izuku is a big fan of All Might. He knows almost everything about him: the villains he faced, the evolution of his hero costume, he even knows how much he weighs! Then, the green-haired boy said in a sad tone :
« I've always dreamed of becoming a hero, just like my number 1 hero. I just wanted to become someone who saves others with a smile. But … but … (tears start forming in his eyes) this will never happen, because I don't have a quirk.
Without a quirk, I can't be a hero.
Without a quirk, I can't save anyone.
Without a quirk, I'm, just like Kacchan said, a weak boy who is useless and can't do anything. »
'You should probably give it up.'
'I'm sorry, Izuku! I'm sorry. I'm sorry !'
Gohan didn't know Izuku very well, but he was his friend. He is the only friend of his age. He didn't want to see him like that. He put a hand on his friend's shoulder and said :
« Hey body, listen to me. You should not care about what others say. If you believe that you can achieve your dreams then you can, no matter what they say. »
Izuku: « E-even without a quirk? »
Gohan: « Yes. Don't listen to that boy, what was his name? Kacchan, yes, he's only an idiot. »
Izuku (smiling) : « T-thanks. It really helps. But… »
Gohan: « But what ? »
Izuku: « I don't think that Kacchan is an idiot. »
Gohan (confused): « Huh? »
Izuku: « Maybe he bullies me, but I still believe that there is a soft side in him. In the end, he is my first friend ever. »
Gohan (in mind): « I don't know if I should be glad or not. »
Soon, the camping trip has finished and the two friends separated hoping to see each other again. Years have passed and many events happened: the androids appeared, Future Trunks returned, Goku participated in the Other World Tournament, but the most important event was the defeat of Cell.
Like we all know, Gohan was the one who defeated that bio monster, but the people of Earth believe that it was thanks to the number #3 hero 'Hercule Satan'. Even so, they had questions about the Cell Games that made them confused: Who were those golden-haired warriors that appeared? Where in the world was All Might? They haven't heard anything about him since two weeks when he fought Toxic Chainsaw. Also, how did Hercule defeat Cell while Endeavor couldn't? And who was Cell exactly? A cyborg? A supervillain with multiple quirks? And why did he even organize that tournament? If he wanted to destroy the solar system, why didn't he just destroy it from the beginning?
Questions people don't have answers for it. But nobody cared about it. They were all glad, not just because the Earth was safe, but also because somehow all the persons that Cell killed were revived. Soon, everyone returned to their lives and forgot totally about the whole incident.
5 years after the Cell Games
Gohan was sitting in the kitchen eating breakfast with his mother Chichi and his little brother Goten. He is now 15 years old (17 years old physically) so the next year he'll enter the academy. Our hero has two dreams in life:
1. To become a strong hero who protects the planet (like his father wants)
2. To become very intelligent and be the smartest person in the world (like his mother wants)
There is one single academy that can make both his dreams true: 'the UA'.
But, to enter it, he needs to pass a written exam. In the end, an idiot cannot be a hero. Gohan was so smart and intelligent, but Chi-Chi thought that studying at home won't be enough for him. That's why he entered 'Aldera Junior High' to study and make communications with others. At least he'll know how his school life will be. So, after eating his meal, Gohan bid farewell to his mom and baby brother and then he called out: « Nimbus. »
Suddenly, a yellow flying cloud appeared and when it approached him, he jumped on it and said: « Come on buddy, let's go to school. »
Nimbus flew up the clouds so no one could see them. The view from there was so beautiful. Gohan always loved the place so much. He was ready to stay the whole day there relaxing. Suddenly, he started seeing the streets and buildings. Nimbus was coming down to land near the school.
Gohan: « Looks like we're already there. »
After landing, the magical cloud flew far away, leaving the half-Saiyan alone. The teenager took a breath and walked towards the entrance.
Gohan (in mind) : « Alright, Gohan. This is going to be your first year in school. Relax. Don't be nervous. »
Then, while walking, our hero saw a green-haired boy passing next to him. He was about 4 inches shorter than him and he had a set of four symmetrical freckles in diamond formations, one on each cheek. He also had large circular eyes with green that had the same green color as his hair. The half-saiyan felt as if he had seen this boy before.
Gohan (in mind) : « Hmm. That boy seems familiar to me. »
Suddenly, after recognizing him, Gohan ran to him and said : « I-Izuku ?! »
Izuku (surprised) : « Uhh ? Y-yes, I am Izuku. And who are you ? »
Gohan : « Didn't you remember me? It's me, Gohan. »
After a few seconds, Midoriya remembered his old friend and he shouted loudly: « G-Gohan ! » causing the attention of all the other pupils.
Izuku (looking towards the others) : « S-sorry, everyone. » (returning to his friend with a smile on his face) « I haven't seen you in six years! I really missed you. »
Gohan (gladly): « Me, too. I didn't expect to see you here. »
Izuku : « Me, neither. I knew there is a new student attending our school but I didn't expect it to be you! Why did you come anyway? Didn't you tell me that you study at home? »
Gohan : « Yes but, like you, I-»
Before he could finish, the bell rang announcing the beginning of classes.
Gohan : « We can finish talking later. »
Izuku : « Fine. In which class are you anyway? »
Gohan : « Oh, it's class 2-C. »
Izuku : « Hey, that's my class! Come on, I'll lead you there. »
Gohan : « Thanks. »
When the two friends entered their class, all the students looked at them.
Boy 1 : « So, this is the new student. »
Boy 2 : « He looks like a bookworm to me. »
Girl : « He seems nice and handsome. That's exactly my type. »
When he entered, Gohan took a look at his classmates and what caught his attention was a familiar face he saw. Near Izuku's seat, there was a teenager with short, spiky, ash-blond hair who looked like someone you should not miss with him. He was none other than Katsuki Bakugo.
Gohan (whispering in Midoriya's ear): « Hey, isn't that the fool, I mean your 'friend' who was with you last time we met? Kacchan, isn't he? »
Izuku : « Yes, he is. And Gohan, his true name is Katsuki Bakugou. I just like to call him Kacchan. »
Gohan : « Oh, alright. Well, he's not bullying you anymore. Does he? »
Izuku : « Actually, he and the others do sometimes, since I'm the only Quirkless boy in this class. »
Gohan : « Oh, really. I don't think they'll dare to do that again since I'm with you. »
Izuku : « Thanks. This means a lot to me. »
Bakugou (staring at Gohan/in his mind) : « So, Spiky-hair is our new classmate, huh? I don't know why but he looks familiar to me. »
Then, the teacher entered the class and all the students sat in their places.
Teacher : « Goodmorning, class. »
Everyone (except Katsuki) : « Good Morning, teacher. »
Teacher : « Well, like you all know, we have a new student in our class. (looking at Gohan) Please come here and present yourself to the others. »
Gohan : « Yes, sir. »
The half-saiyan walked towards the board and presented himself.
Gohan : « Hello. My name is Gohan. Son Gohan. »
Boy 1 : « Son… »
Boy 2 : « Gohan ? »
The students start laughing calmly at the name of the Saiyan except … for one.
Katsuki : « Gohan ? Who's this idiot who'll name his son with a stupid name like this? »
Gohan (a little bit angry) : « My FATHER gave me this name. O.K. ?! »
Teacher : « Calm down, Son. Bakugo, you're in class not in the schoolyard. Next time you'll do that, you'll end up in the principal's office. And all of you, stop laughing. »
After hearing the instructor's warning, all the students fell silent. In the end, nobody wanted to be in trouble.
Teacher : « That's better. Now Gohan, go and take a seat next to Bakugou and Midoriya. »
Gohan : « Thanks, sir. »
A few hours later
It was 12 o'clock. The pupils were in the cafeteria eating lunch. At one of the tables, our two heroes were sitting eating their food together while discussing. Gohan told Izuku, about the reason why he came to their school and how he wants to enter the UA.
Izuku : « So, you want to enter the heroes' greatest academia? »
Gohan : « Yes. I want to become a hero to make my father proud of me since he … died years ago. »
Izuku : « I'm sorry about that. I'm sure he would be proud of you. Anyway, can you please tell me more about your quirk? »
Gohan : « Umm, O.K. »
Then, the green-haired brought out an old green note. It was written on it 'Hero Analysis for the Future'.
Gohan : « What's that book? »
Izuku : « Oh, this, it's a note and I love to call it 'Hero Analysis for the Future'. I write on it everything I know about heroes and quirks. Do you want to take a look? »
Gohan : « Of course. I'd like to. »
Gohan took it from his friend's hand and started reading it. It was full of information and pictures of heroes. The Saiyan was surprised, not just by how Midoriya got all these details, but also how he discovered ways to defeat some pro-heroes!
Gohan : « Man, this is amazing. »
Izuku : « Thanks. I usually write on it since I … »
Gohan : « Since you what? »
Izuku (with a sad voice): « Since I … don't have lots of friends to talk to. »
Then Gohan noticed he was the only person sitting next to Deku. All the others were ignoring him. He wanted to ask him why, but he knew this would make him feel more pain. Plus, he understood the reason for that when he took another look at his classmates. Wherever he looks, wherever he turns his head, he only sees teenagers with quirks. Even if it wasn't a strong quirk, even if it was useless, every single person had a quirk. His green-haired friend was the only Quirkless boy, not just in their class, but in the whole school!
Gohan : « Izuku … »
Izuku (returning the note to his bag): « The classes are gonna begin, let's return to our classroom. »
Days have passed, and the bond between Gohan and Izuku became stronger. Deku was so glad because now he has a friend he can talk to, a friend he can rely on, a friend he can ask him for help. He is not lonely any longer. More than that, whenever he gets bullied at school, he's there to save him. It only takes a little hit on the neck, and the bully we'll fall asleep.
One month later…
Aldera Junior High
Teacher : « Since you're all third year, it's time for you to think seriously about your future. I'll pass out handouts for your future plans now, but… you're all… (with a big smile) pretty much planning to go into the hero course, right? »
At that moment, all the class started using their quirks except for three: Gohan, Izuku, and Katsuki.
Teacher : « Yes, yes, you all have wonderful Quirks! But using your powers at school is against the rules! »
Bakugou : « Teach! »
After hearing his voice, everyone stopped talking and turned towards Katsuki, who was sitting improperly on his desk.
Katsuki : « Don't lump us all in the same group. I'm not gonna be stuck at the bottom with the rest of these rejects! »
After hearing him, the students couldn't sustain themselves any longer. They all stood up and started yelling at him for that.
Boy 1 : « That was uncalled for, Katsuki! »
Boy 2 : « Yeah, yeah! »
Katsuki (Sarcastically): « You all should shut up like the extras you are. »
Teacher : « Oh, if I remember correctly, you want to go to U.A. High, right, Bakugo? »
These simple words were able to make all the class shocked from this statement. They couldn't believe that one of them was able to make it to UA.
Girl 1 : « U.A. ? That national school ?! »
Boy 1 : « It was the top 0.2% this year, you know! »
Boy 2 : « Their acceptance rate is always really low, too ! »
When Gohan turned his face, he saw how poor Izuku put his face on the desk in shame. He knew how he was feeling. He knew that entering the U.A. was always his dream, so he tried his best to calm him down.
Gohan : « Hey, relax. I'm sure you'll be accepted. »
Izuku (smiling) : « Thanks, Gohan. It really means a lot for me. »
Anyway, Bakugo completed the splurging…
Katsuki : « That's why you guys are just extras ! (standing up the table) I aced the mock test! I'm the only one at this school who could possibly get into the U.A. (Enthusiastically) I'll definitely surpass All Might and become the top hero! My name will be inscribed on the list of top earners ! »
Teacher : « Oh yeah, Gohan and Midoriya wanted to go to the U.A., too, right? »
At that moment, Bakugo was left frozen from the shock. He couldn't believe what his ears heard right now. He wasn't the only one who wanted to attend the heroes' course. There are two other students who'll go with him. Only one extra person is horrible to him, but two! It's totally a nightmare.
As for the other pupils, they could accept the fact that Gohan will enter the U.A. . In the end, he was the teachers' and the coach's pet. But, Izuku on the other hand? Who had ever heard of a Quirkless hero !? They all started laughing at him and teasing him.
Boy 1 : « Huh ? Midoriya ? No way ! »
Boy 2 : « You can't get into the hero course just by studying! »
Izuku (standing up) : « Th-they got rid of that rule! »
Gohan (standing up/seriously) : « He's right! There's just no precedent… »
Before he could finish, Katsuki stood up, and immediately he blew up Deku's desk, and almost injured him. Gohan went to his green-haired friend to help him stand and see if he was O.K. or not.
Gohan : « Izuku! Are you fine, buddy? »
Izuku : « Y-yes, I'm fine. Thank you. »
Katsuki : « Hey, Deku ! » The two turned their faces towards the blond-haired teenager, who smiled at them with a scary face. « You're below the rejects! You're quirkless ! How can you even stand in the same ring as me ! »
Izuku (in fear) : « No, wait, Kacchan ! It's not like I'm trying to compete with you or anything! Believe me! It's just that it's been my goal ever since I was little. And well… I won't know unless I try… »
Katsuki (angered) : « Whaddaya mean, unless you try ?! Are you taking the test for fun ?! What can you do ? You're Quirkless ! »
Poor Izuku looked down in sadness and shame. He has been teased by all his classmates at once. They mocked him and mocked his dreams. The hybrid Saiyan couldn't sustain himself any longer. He stood up and looked into Katsuki's eyes angrily.
Gohan (angrily) : « Katsuki ! This time, you really surpassed your limits! Apologize to Midoriya right now or- »
Katsuki (mad) : « Shut your mouth, Spiky Hair! Don't think that just because you have that stupid and useless Quirk of yours you are better than me or even better than him! I don't wanna any of you extras to be with me at U.A., O.K. ?! »
Finally, the teacher tried to interrupt and finish the fight, but once he saw Bakugo's look, he knew that he wanted to say "don't interrupt or you'll die" so he decided to let the students solve their problems by themselves. Then, Bakugo turned to finish talking with our hero.
Bakugo (mad) : « Just because you stand next to him, it doesn't mean you can protect him! You just never fought me and you don't have any idea about my Quirk! If you did, you'd wish that you had never interrupted my way! Do I make myself clear ?! »
Gohan (with a serious look) : « You're silly Bakugo. I've already protected him once from you, and I'm still able to do it again. »
Katsuki (confused) : « What ? »
Gohan : « It was about six years ago. »
Katsuki : « Six… years… ago? »
At that moment, he remembered everything. That face, it was the same face of the kid who blocked his attack like nothing. The same boy that challenged him. Bakugo is usually angry and sometimes mad, but this time, he became further beyond: enraged.
Without thinking, he grabbed Gohan's shirt and screamed in his face loudly:
« You ! You fool ! Now I remembered you ! You're that idiot kid who challenged me ! Do you know how much shame I felt when I saw my attack, my best one, blocked easily by a stupid weak useless KID ! I've been waiting a long time for the day when I'll kick your ass ! I've wanted to wipe the floor with the face of yours and your dumb father ! Don't think that just because he's an adult he'll survive from me ! I will kill anyone WHO… MESS… WITH… ME ! »
Gohan (with a serious look) : « What did you say right now… about my dad? »
Katsuki (enraged) : « Are you deaf or what ?! A DUMB… WEAK… MAN that I'll kill him after wiping the floor with his FACE! »
Gohan (start getting angry) : « And you dare repeating it. »
Katsuki : « Yes. What's the problem ?! The big baby is gonna cr- »
Before he could finish, Gohan grabbed Bakugo's arm, lifted him up in the air, and then threw him up on the ground with all his force, leading to creating a strong airflow that threw the desks everywhere. He was grabbing Katsuki's arm strongly to the point that he screamed in pain. When he opened his eyes and looked up, he saw a furious Gohan who was looking at him in anger. He seemed like he didn't care what would happen to him next. Even if he killed him, he would not care at all. All he cares about now is that his so-called 'classmate' insulted his father, and he must teach him a lesson. He spoke to him coldly :
« Alright, Kacchan, I've heard you, now it's your turn to hear me. My father was a strong, great and amazing warrior. He was a hero. He saved my life many times and he even sacrificed his own life for me. For everyone. For the whole EARTH! So, if you ever, EVER, said something bad about him, then be sure that you'll be punished, by my own HANDS! DO I MAKE MYSELF CLEAR! »
He then grabbed Kacchan's arm harder, making him scream loudly. But then he turned around and saw what he had done. The class was a mess. All the students and also the teacher were totally afraid to the point that they couldn't move from their places. He turned back and saw that even Izuku was shaking in fear. Funny, the whole time he was trying to protect him, but now, he's not afraid of Bakugou anymore, he's afraid… of him!
Gohan understood what had happened just now: he turned into a monster.
He left him slowly and looked to the others.
Gohan (in shame) : « Guys, I-I'm so sorry for scaring you, especially you, Midoriya. I'm also sorry if I hurt any of you. (turning to the teacher) Sir, I'm really sorry for what I've done. I'll… I'll clean up the mess. »
Teacher (shaking in fear) : « O-O.K., b-but please, don't use your quirk in class again. »
Later, when all the students started leaving, Gohan and Izuku were left alone. Midoriya asked Gohan to go and wait for him near the entrance of the school, but that was something he regretted because once Gohan left, he noticed that Bakugo and his two friends were in the classroom, too. Sadly for him, Katsuki didn't learn his lesson. He took Deku's note then like we all know, he burned it and threw it out the window. After he took it, he returned to his only friend who noticed the sadness on his face and how his notebook seemed burned. When he asked him about that, he couldn't lie, he told him everything.
Gohan : « So, Katsuki didn't learn anything at all, right? Don't worry, Izuku, once I see him, I'll teach him a lesson he will never ever forget! »
Izuku (in a sad voice) : « Nah, no need for it. I don't know why but… sometimes, I feel that… Kacchan may be right. Maybe I really can't be a hero. »
Gohan : « What ?! What is this nonsense! (putting his hands on Deku's shoulders) Midoriya, you said it yourself: 'you will never know unless you try'. Do you still remember the day we first met? I told you to not care about what the others say. You must believe in yourself. »
Izuku (with happiness): « T-thanks, Gohan. You know, you are always here when I need you. »
Gohan : « Of course, that's what friends for. »
Then, at the end of the street, the two friends parted, each one went a different way from the other. Izuku went through the tunnel where he didn't expect to be attacked by a slime-like villain. He tried to run and ask for help, but the villain was faster. He caught him and tried to take his body but, sadly for him, the number one hero, All Might, found him and launched at him with his super attack 'Texas Smash'. With only one powerful wind pressure move, the monster was defeated. Izuku vaguely sees All Might and faints shortly thereafter. Later…
Gohan: « Izuku. Izuku. Izuku wake up ! »
Midoriya slowly opened his eyes only to see his friend holding him trying to wake him up.
Izuku : « G-Gohan, is that you ? What are you doing here? »
Gohan : « I sensed an evil power approaching you, so I decided to come and check out. »
Izuku : « So you're the one who saved me. Thanks. You know, for a moment I thought that I saw All Might himself. »
Gohan : « Midoriya, actually- »
Before he could finish talking, he was interrupted by the laughing of a tall muscular man who was standing near them.
?: « Hahaha! You have been saved by the number #1 hero ?! That is really an amazing dream! But the funniest part is that (turning to face the two teenagers) it really happened ! »
That huge body, that short blond hair, and that… smile on his face. Izuku couldn't believe what was happening: he was standing in front of the greatest hero in the world himself, All Might. Midoriya was left in shock. His best hero, the person who gave him hope, was here in front of him.
All Might (smiling): « I'm glad you're okay! Sorry about getting you caught up in my villain fighting. I don't usually make mistakes like this, but I was in high spirits on my day off in a new place. But, you were a big help. Thanks! (he picked up two bottles of soft drink where he trapped the villain) I captured him safely. »
Gohan (in mind): « I think I lost my appetite for soda. »
Izuku (still in shock): « The number one hero… All Might… H-He's the real thing… He looks completely different in person! »
Gohan : « Umm, Izuku… Are you fine ? »
Izuku (returning to reality): « Uh, what? Oh, yes, I'm fine. Thanks, Gohan. Wait a minute, an autograph! I need an autograph! (Then he started looking for his note) Where, WHERE IS MY- »
Gohan (holding the Hero Analysis note): « Are you looking for this? »
Izuku (grabbing it): « Oh, YES! Thanks! »
Gohan: « Wait, he- »
When Midoriya opened the note and saw the signature, he knew what his friend was going to say.
Izuku : « -ALREADY DID ! »
At that moment, Midoriya stood up and bowed to his idol many times thanking him by saying that his autograph will be the treasure of his family.
After seeing that everybody is safe, All Might prepared himself to leave. He bend over and then, he jumped with all his power flying into the sky. Gohan stood there watching the symbol of peace disappearing in the clouds, he may not be a big fan of the number 1 hero like his friend, but he also was glad to meet him by himself, but more than that, he was glad that his best friend finally met his favorite hero, the man who always give him hope.
Gohan: « It's awesome to meet the world's most famous hero personally, isn't it Izuku. » The Saiyan waited for his friend to answer him but he heard nothing but silence. « Izuku? Izuku! » When he turned, he noticed that his partner wasn't next to him or anywhere. "W-where did he go? Could it be…!"
Back with All Might
The pro hero wasn't the number one for nothing. In his life, he countered different types of villains and enemies, yet, he has never ever been defeated. No matter what, it always took him one single powerful punch and the opponent is defeated. But, there are foes that cannot be defeated by power, foes that may cause trouble without fighting, enemies that even All Might can't defeat. This opponent is the fans.
All Might (a little angry): "Let go of me! Your fanaticism is too much!"
Izuku: "If I… let go now… I'll… I'll die…!"
All might (realizing the situation): "Oh. That's true."
Gohan (shouting loudly): "IZUKU!"
Once All Might turned back, he saw the half-Saiyan teenager flying in his direction with a worried and at the same time a serious face.
All Might (in his mind): "Oh, it's him, I didn't know his Quirk is flying."
Gohan: "Izuku, jump! Jump and I'll catch you!"
Izuku (refusing): "No… I… have… a lot of things… I want to ask him directly!"
Gohan: "What!? Izuku, stop or you're gonna die!"
All Might: "Okay, okay! It seems you won't give up that easily. Close your eyes and mouth. (looking around) Let's see if there is a place where I can land with you. (Suddenly, the pro started coughing and bleeding from his mouth, he knew exactly what this meant) Shit."
Then, All Might and Gohan landed on a near building shaking it a bit. After this little trip, Izuku was totally shaking with fear.
Izuku (shaking): "Th-That was scary…"
Gohan (with a serious look): "Izuku, tell me what were you thinking!? You could have killed yourself!"
Izuku: "I-I'm sorry, Gohan. I… I just wanted to-"
Gohan: "Spent more time with your hero. I know. Look, it was awesome to meet the symbol of peace but, you heard him, he has no time! You must be glad that you at least spoke with him. (turning back to All Might) Sir, I'm really sorry for what my friend had done. He's just… a big fan of yours, if not the biggest."
All Might: "It's not a problem, young man. Now, if you talk to the people downstairs, I'm sure they'll let you down or you can just grab your friend and jump down with your quirk. I seriously am outta time, so I really must go."
Izuku (standing up): "Wait! Umm…"
All Might: "No! I will not wait!"
Izuku: "But-"
Gohan (interrupting/holding his friend): "Izuku, that's enough! Let him just go!"
Izuku (trying to break free): "No, please! I want him to answer a few questions of mine! PLEASE!"
Gohan (getting angry): "That's it! You leave me no choice!" At that moment, Gohan turned Midoriya to face him and then carried him over his shoulder and walked away with him.
Izuku (shocked): "WHAT!? Gohan, what are you doing!? PUT ME DOWN!"
Gohan (refusing): "No! If you're gonna act crazy like earlier then my answer is NO!"
When the green-haired teenager lifted his eyes up, he saw his idol preparing to leave. He knew that this may be his only chance to meet him. If he goes, he may not see him ever again. He wanted him at least to answer one single question of his.
You should probably give it up.
I'm sorry, Izuku! I'm sorry. I'm sorry.
What can you even do? You're Quirkless!
You should not care about what others say. If you believe that you can achieve your dreams then you can, no matter what they say.
Izuku (screaming loudly): "Even if I don't have a Quirk, can I become a hero?"
At that moment both Gohan and All Might stood there without moving. They were surprised by his question. All Might had never heard a question like this before. As for Gohan, he always told Midoriya to not care about what others say, he always told him that his words make him feel better and give hope but it seems that he won't really believe that until he knows the answer from the number one hero himself.
Gohan: "Izuku?"
Izuku (talking with All Might): "Can even someone without a Quirk (yelling) be like you?"
All Might turned to be face-to-face with the boy who closed his eyes of embarrassment waiting for the hero to answer him. Then Gohan put him down and then put a hand on his shoulder.
Gohan (calmly): "Sir, please, answer his question and then you can go. Please, tell him that he can be a hero without a Quirk."
