Chapter III :

Roaring Muscles

The two young boys were confused about what All Might said. What did he mean that Midoriya is worthy of inheriting his power? Is this another secret the top hero hides from the public? The younger teen broke up the silence questioning: "Inherit your power?"

Gohan (asking): "All Might… what do you mean by this?"

The tall skinny blond man surprised the two by laughing at them saying: "What's with these faces? It's just a suggestion. The real show starts after this." Then he started talking seriously, raising his finger high: "Listen, young man. You need to decide whether or not (suddenly he started spouting blood again) you will accept my power!"

Izuku approached Gohan a little and whispered in his ear: "Gohan, wh-what is All Might talking about...?"

Gohan (whispering): "No idea."

All Might (continuing while explaining his Quirk): "I'm talking about my power, young men. The tabloids called it "superhuman strength" and a "boost", and I constantly dodged the question during interviews with a funny joke. Because the Symbol of Peace, All Might, had to be a natural-born hero. But young men, I will tell you two the truth. My Quirk was passed on to me like a sacred torch."

Gohan (shocked): "It was passed on..?"

Izuku (shocked): "To you…?"

Toshinori: "That's right. And next, it is your turn."

Izuku (in disbelief): "W-Wait! Wait a minute! It's true that your Quirk is something hotly debated as one of the world's greatest mysteries. So much so that not a day goes by when I don't see someone talking about it online. (and with that the timid boy began his endless mumbling) But, well, I don't really understand what you mean by inheriting or passing on a Quirk… I've never heard of anything like that before, and it's never even been conjectured in the debate. Why is that? Is it because since the dawn of history, a Quirk like that was never confirmed? In the first place, it's…"

Toshinori (speaking with the young Saiyan): "Does he always mumble like that?"

Gohan (annoyed): "Yes, he does. It seems like he's denying what you said."

Toshinori (screaming/bringing the young teenager back to reality): "Nonsense! (speaking normally) I may hide a lot of things, but I don't lie! The power to transfer power… That is the Quirk I inherited! (Suddenly, the top hero's left hand lighted up as if all his power was transferred there) I was crowned with "One For All"!"

Izuku (repeating): "One For All…"

Toshinori: "That's right. One person cultivates the power and passes it on to another person, who also cultivates it and passes it on. It is the crystallization of power that spins together the voices of those who need help with a courageous heart."

Izuku: "Why are you… Why are you giving me something so great?"

Toshinori (replying): "I have been looking for a successor. And then, I thought it would be all right for you to inherit it. You are just a Quirkless hero fanboy, but you were more heroic than anyone else back there!"

Gohan: "You hear that, Izuku? All Might himself believes that you can be a hero and that you are worthy of inheriting his power!"

Izuku (in tears): "Yes, yes I do."

Toshinori: "Never mind! Well, it's up to you, though."

Gohan (encouraging): "Come on, buddy. Wipe your tears and accept it. It's your chance to be a hero! The next Symbol of Peace!"

Izuku (standing up with a serious face): "I'll do it!"

Toshinori (gladly): "An immediate reply. That's what I thought you'd say! From now on, you are my student! (turning to Gohan) I'm sorry, young Gohan. You too were amazing when you saved your two friends from the villain, but I don't think you need my power. In the end, you're the strongest person on this planet after you defeated Cell."

Gohan: "Thanks. I also didn't want to- Wait? WHAT?! You know?!"

Toshinori: "Yup, I do."

Izuku (shocked): "A-All Might… y-you didn't hear our conversation, did you?"

Toshinori: "What? No. Well, a little, but I already knew about the truth, Hercule himself told me the full story of what happened back then."

Gohan (shocked): "He did!? Who else knows!?"

Toshinori: "Well, there's only King Furry and some of his guards. When Hercule told us of what truly happened during the Cell Games, we discussed what we should say to the people of Earth. At first, the king wanted to reveal the truth but then I suggest that Mr. Satan should take the credit for defeating him, otherwise, the reports will rush to your house to know more about your secrets and how you revived all of Cell's victims. I already know that you guys are the ones behind it. Plus, people would've recognized your two friends, King Piccolo, and the Saiyan, and they could've had some problems with society."

Gohan (worried): "So, I'm not getting into any trouble, will I?"

Toshinori: "Don't worry, you had permission from a hero."

Gohan (confused): "A hero? Who?"

Toshinori: "Your father. The kid who saved the world from King Piccolo and got hero licenses from the Turtle School. We know almost everything about him."

Gohan (feeling safe): "Thank God."

Toshinori: "But, young man, you don't mind telling me your full backstory, don't you? I'm really curious about knowing your origins."

Gohan: "Of course not, sir."

Toshinori: "Great, and you don't need to call me 'sir'. Do as everyone does and call me All Might."

Half an hour later…

Toshinori: "Saiyans, Namekians, Ki, Dragon Balls, your story is really weird, young man. However, I'm sorry about your father, it seems that he was a great hero, too."

Gohan: "For me, he was the greatest hero to ever live, and it was my mistake that he died."

Toshinori: "Listen to me, young Gohan, you really should've listened to him when he ordered you to finish Cell but, the past is past. You need now to think of the present and future. We all make mistakes so we can learn from them."

Gohan: "Thank you, All Might. I just wish he'll ever forgive me."

Izuku: "Gohan, I'm sure that your father forgives you because he loves you. You're his son, if he didn't he wouldn't sacrifice his life for you. As you told me, he was always there next to you. When you launched all your power against Cell, he was there to save you. When Recoome almost cracked you to pieces, he came to save you. The point is: your dad doesn't hate you for what you've done, even if he's mad at you he'll sooner or later forgive you because that's what a father will always do."

Gohan (smiling at his best friend): "Thanks, both of you."

Toshinori: "Anyway, young man, I think that you'll be helpful in training young Midoriya. Meet me on Saturday at 4 a.m. I'll be waiting for you at Dagoba Municipal Sea Park. As for now, you two must get home, it's getting late."

Izuku: "Really? What time is it?"

Toshinori (looking at the time on his phone): "Let's see, it's almost 8 p.m."

Gohan (shocked): "What?! Eight p.m.! Mom is gonna kill me!"

Izuku: "I'll never be home on time!"

Even though the Saiyan teen is the strongest person on the whole planet, he can never survive his mother's wrath. If the two boys won't be home in less than five minutes, they'll both sleep outside tonight. Since there was no other choice in front of the two, the hybrid earthling asked the top hero for permission to fly, which the latter accepted. First, he carried his friend on his back to his apartment, then, in half a second, he flew at light's speed to his home hoping that he won't find his mom waiting for him at the door. Luckily for him, Chichi wasn't home tonight, his little brother Goten told him that she went visiting Bulma a few hours ago and she didn't return yet. Gladly, Gohan went to his room and lay on his bed thinking of all that All Might said to him and Midoriya today. Who knew that the number one hero was hiding all those secrets from the public? Of course not him. Anyway, he also should think of his own training. Maybe he's the strongest person on Earth, yet he needs to become stronger so he'll be prepared when a new threat appears. He can think of all of this tomorrow but right now, he needs to have some sleep, even the Saiyans get tired. He turned down the lights and closed his eyes, falling to sleep.

Dagoba Municipal Beach Park, two days later – early morning

What was once a beach has become through the years a junkyard due to the polluted human actions. Wherever you turn your eyes, you only see rubbish and scrap heaps here and there. Between the hills of trash, a green-haired male with a plain face was hardly pulling an old fridge on which two other males were sitting watching the young teenager trying his best to not disappoint them while the two were somehow supporting him.

All Might: "Hey, hey, hey! This is such a comfy fridge to sit on!"

After doing all he's able to and using all the energy in his body, Izuku Midoriya collapsed on the ground feeling exhausted. Maybe the training will be harder than he thought. The half Saiyan teen stood up from his seat and approached his friend trying to encourage him.

Gohan: "Come on, Izuku. You're not using your full potential. I know you have more behind. I know it'll be hard at the beginning but with time, it'll be much easier."

All Might: "Your friend is right. If you could move it even a little, it would be a little easier."

Izuku (trying to stand gathering all his power): "Well yeah, I mean, you weigh 61 kilograms while your weight All Might is 274 kilograms, right?"

Gohan (surprised): "Wow, you really remember all the notes you took of me."

All Might: "I don't know about young Gohan but you're wrong about me. I lost weight by doing a regimen in the last few months, so I'm only 255 kilograms now… in this form."

Izuku (questioning/looking around): "Anyway, why am I dragging trash at the beach park?"

All Might took some pictures of the boy in his current state and then answered him laughing: "It's 'cause, you know, you're not a proper vessel."

These words hearted the young teenager's feelings, he thought that All Might was actually doubting his potential. He started crying and screaming: "What you're saying now is the opposite of what you said before!"

Gohan: "Izuku, calm down, please! He's just talking about your body!"

All Might (standing up/walking towards the two boys): "Your friend is right. My Quirk, One For All, is the fullest physical ability of many people gathered into one. An unprepared body cannot inherit it fully. The limbs will come off and the body will explode."

Izuku (frightened): "The limbs will what?!"

Gohan (shocked): "All Might you must be joking!"

All Might (replying): "Nope, it's the truth, and here comes your turn."

Gohan (confused): "Me?"

All Might: "Yup, as you told me in your story, your father learned a strong technique that also might destroy the user's body, the Kaio-Ken, right? You also told me that your father was able to sustain it by controlling the body's power called Ki. If that's the case then if young Midoriya also learned to control his Ki he may be prepared to use One For All in a shorter time."

Gohan: "You're right! Actually, in Izuku's case, I think it'll be much easier because OFA doesn't seem to me to have the same side effects as Kaio-Ken. Controlling it won't be that difficult."

Izuku: "Then… I must pick up trash and control my Ki in order to train my body…?"

All Might (responding): "Yes! And don't worry about picking up trash, young Gohan will help you in cleaning the beach."

Gohan (surprised): "Wait, I also must help clean?"

All Might: "Right, and you're not allowed to use your power like flying or blasting fires from your hands, nor to pick up many at the same time. You must clean it piece by piece."

Gohan: "What?! Why?! It's gonna take a very long time!"

All Might (answering): "Well, you see, after some research on the internet yesterday, I discovered that part of this beach's park coast has been like this for many years."

Izuku (replying/looking around him for all that trash): "Yeah… For some reason, because of the currents, objects drift here a lot, and people take advantage of that to hide their illegal dumping… The local residents don't come near here, either."

All Might: "Heroes these days are all after the showy stuff. (Using his right hand, the top hero smashed the old fridge easily, creating a strong wind pressure which caused all the scrap pieces behind him to fly away) Originally, being a hero meant doing volunteer service. Even if people called that boring or whatever. You can't waver from those roots. You will restore the horizon for this whole section! The point is that, by helping clean this place, you'll practice doing heroes' jobs. That is the first step for both of you toward becoming a hero!"

Izuku: "Our…?"

Gohan: "… first step?"

Izuku/Gohan: "Clean… this… (with a high voice) All of it…?!"

All Might: "Young Midoriya, you want to go to U.A., right?"

Izuku (answering/hopefully): "Yes… Yes! Because it's where you went! So if I'm going to go… I thought… it would definitely have to be U.A. …"

All Might (joyfully): "You're a go-getter fanboy! But I've told you this before. It's not something you can do without a Quirk. It's sad, but that is what reality is. And U.A.'s is the hardest hero course to get into. In other words…"

Izuku (completing): "In the ten months until U.A.'s entrance exam, I have to complete my vessel!"

All Might: "Exactly! As for you, young Gohan, we can tell the school that your powers are part of your Quirk, but as I said, you need to practice a true hero's work. Also, don't think that just because you're very strong it doesn't mean you don't have to train."

Gohan: "Yes, I know. Dad told me that we need to always be prepared for a new strong threat. In other words, there's a possibility that a new villain much stronger than Cell may appear in the future."

All Might: "Your father knows best about being a hero, and that's why I'll be the mentor of both of you in the next months. (Then the Symbol of Peace brought up some papers that he found on the internet yesterday) That's where this comes in! I came up with this: "Aim to Pass: American Dream Plan"! It's a training plan to help you finish cleaning up the beach. I'll have you follow this in every aspect of your life! Especially you, young Midoriya!"

The two friends took a look at the plan's papers to see what type of training they'll pass through. The training was harder than they thought. From today till the entrance exams, these papers are going to control their life. Every single thing was included: the food, their free time, even the sleep time was included! There were also some exercises about not using the flying ability, controlling appetite, running/flying over 200 miles a day, not using the Super Saiyan, controlling the power of SSJ2… The two knew that All Might added those types of training to Gohan based on the capabilities that he told them about. It seems that they're gonna have a lot to do in these months. The number one hero approached them and whispered in their ears: "Frankly, this is a super hard schedule, even for you young Gohan. Can you follow it?"

Izuku (smiling): "Of course… we have to work many times harder than anyone else, or else we can't do it!"

Gohan (smiling): "If I learned anything during all the battles and training I passed through, it's that I should always go beyond. Like Vegeta says: "There are no limits for the Saiyans' power."

And so began ten months of hell.

Next day

On the same beach, the green-haired earthling was lying on the saltwater of the sea with his eyes closed trying to relax to the maximum. The half-Saiyan boy was floating in the air observing him quietly feeling the amount of his Ki with Toshinori Yagi watching them from the beach in his skinny form in order to understand more about the body's power. Then, the half-human spoke to his friend calmly: "Being calm is the key to control your power. The more relaxed you are, the stronger you can get. You fight, you must be able to think and battle at the same time." The 14-year old teen started losing his focus when he felt the waves getting stronger but his friend calmed him down saying: "Izuku, don't forget your training. Imagine that these waves' hits are your enemies' fists. You must learn to not lose concentration when you fight, no matter what. The anger can also make you stronger but you should not lose your control or… your power can become your point of weakness." Finally, the boy restored his calm and tried his best to focus on his own energy. But, this calmness couldn't rest forever. The two heard Toshinori shouting loudly: "Young men! Be careful! Look behind you!" When the two friends turned to see what All Might was warning them from, they saw a huge wave about 5 meters high moving towards them. The poor boy tried his best to swim to the beach before the wave reached him but he knew he couldn't do it in time. Gohan too knew that his friend cannot escape from the wave, so, he grabbed him quickly and flew with him to the beach.

The three watched as the wave faded at the shore of the sea, it wasn't expected that a surge that high may happen especially in this time of year. It was good that Gohan saved Izuku in time 'cause, with that huge wave and in that depth, the boy could've drowned there. Then, Midoriya broke up the silence calling his friend's name: "Gohan."

Gohan (responding): "Yes?"

Izuku (blushing): "Thanks for saving me… but… can you please… put me down now?"

At that moment, the Saiyan teen realized: he was still carrying his partner with his legs crossed around his waist. All Might couldn't sustain himself and started laughing at them hilariously. It was such an embarrassing moment for both of them. Luckily, the place was empty of people so no one could see them or take pictures of them in this state. The two decided to forget what happened and to continue their training on controlling Ki.

7th day of training

The two teenagers were busy cleaning up the place piece by piece as All Might ordered. It was a bit hard for the two, mostly to the Quirkless earthling, but no one said it'll be easy. At least, Toshinori was helping them by encouraging them.

Toshinori: "Come on! Come on! Carry that to the park entrance! Put it in the truck! Hurry, faster, faster! Ten months will be over before you know it! Let's become athletic!"

The two heroes of the future were doing their best to not disappoint their master. Sometimes they fall down to the ground but they soon recover and stand up finishing their job. They were also helping each other when one of the two needed help because teamwork is necessary for being a hero. Everything was going well until…

Gohan (screaming): "Izuku, move!"

Izuku: "Huh?"

Before he could react, the young Saiyan pushed his mate aside before he could be hurt by a blast that came out of nowhere. This move was similar to the hybrid Saiyan: it was a Ki beam that only Ki users could perform. It wasn't very strong for him, but if it touched his friend, he could've been badly injured right now. The blast hit some scrap near them leading to an explosion as strong as Katsuki's.

Toshinori: "What? What was that?! Could it be… a villain?!"

Izuku: "Wait, is it… K-Kacchan?!"

Gohan: "No, this Ki…"

?: "Well, at least you didn't fully lose your fighting skills."

?: "Glad you were able to react in time."

Next to three, two men landed on land after they were floating in the air. Both of them were so muscular and had a serious look on their faces. The first one was a very tall man with green skin. He has a solid facial structure with less pronounced cheekbones, a rounder chin, and a straight nose. He was wearing a dark purplish-blue gi, pointy orange shoes, sky blue obi, a white turban, and a white cape. The other one was a slim yet very well-built man of a below-average stature, standing at 164 centimeters tall. His hair was black and spikes upwards. He also possessed defined eyes with a consistently stern look to them. The two of them seemed familiar for the top hero and his student.

Izuku: "Hey, aren't those two-?"

Gohan (surprised): "Vegeta-san? Piccolo-san?"

Toshinori (recognizing the two): "You are King Piccolo and the Saiyan that appeared in Cell Games."

Vegeta: "Hmph, and who are you?"

Toshinori: "I… Aaa… I'm…"

Gohan: "Wait for just a second, what are you two doing here?"

Izuku: "Yeah, and most importantly, why did you try to kill me?!"

Vegeta: "Nobody tried to kill you, you little freak."

Izuku (frightened): "Umm, sorry sir."

Piccolo (answering Gohan's question): "We just came here because we heard from your mother that you found a new mentor, All Might right?"

Gohan (panicked): "Wait, Piccolo, it's not like how it looks like, you see-"

Toshinori (cutting the boy angrily): "Gohan, what does he mean by "your mother told him"?! Didn't I order you not to tell anyone of our secret?!"

Gohan: "All Might, please I can explain you see…"

Flashback two days ago…

The teen Saiyan was heading home after another day at school. His mother was in the living room sitting on a couch reading a book while waiting for her eldest son to come. When he did, she asked him gently: "Gohan, can you please come here for a second?"

Gohan (responding): "Yes, mom."

Chi-Chi: "Gohan, can I ask you why in the past few days you've been acting strangely?"

Gohan: "Strangely? Mom, what are you talking about? I'm as usual."

Chi-Chi: "Don't think I don't know what's happening, young man: first you started leaving home at 3 a.m. Second, when I took a look at your computer, I found that you recently started searching for information about heroes and especially All Might, something you always didn't care about. Thirdly, I found these papers on your desk." Then she put the copies she found on the table. It is the American Dream Plan that All Might gave to Gohan. The boy knew that he made a horrible mistake.

Gohan (panicked): "Wait, mom, relax. I-It's nothing…"

Chi Chi (a bit angry): "Gohan, I'm your mother and you should not hide anything from me! You're not hanging out with bad people, are you?!"

Gohan: "What?! Of course not! I-I can explain everything!"

Chi-Chi: "Alright then, go on. Explain."

Gohan (in mind): "Sigh, no other choice, I'll tell her."

End of flashback…

Gohan (nervously): "So, you see, I told her that I'm helping you train my friend but I didn't mention your secrets. She was overjoyed that I'm working with the Symbol of Peace but I told her not to tell anyone."

Vegeta: "Yet she told me and Bulma everything."

Toshinori (sighing): "At least the worst didn't happen."

Vegeta (sarcastically): "So, you are All Might? Didn't imagine that the strongest and famous hero of Earth is no more than a skeleton."

Izuku: "Hey, this still doesn't explain why you tried to hit me!"

Vegeta: "Just wanted to be sure that this Saiyan didn't become so soft."

Gohan (annoyed): "Thanks, Vegeta but please, next time you want to test me, attack me directly and not my friends! (looking to his old friend and mentor) What about you, Piccolo? What brings you here?"

Piccolo: "Nothing, I just wanted to see what type of training you're doing here. I see that you and your friend are preparing for the hero courses."

Izuku (responding): "Yes, sir… I mean Mr. Piccolo Sir. Gohan is helping me in controlling the body's energy, Ki."

Piccolo: "Just call me Piccolo. So, my student has finally become a master."

Gohan (chuckling): "You can say so. Hey, this gives me an idea, why don't you and Vegeta join us?"

Everyone: "Join you/us?"

Gohan (smiling): "Yes, as Vegeta said, I should not lose my fighting skills. You two are the only people in the world I can fight using SSJ and SSJ2. Plus, you may be helpful in training Izuku."

Vegeta: "Me battling you, huh? Why not, I haven't had a real battle since years ago."

Piccolo: "Well, not a bad idea. I can make from your weak friend a strong warrior as I did with you."

Toshinori: "Seems like things are turning to the best."

Vegeta (approaching Midoriya and Gohan): "Alright kids. Prepare yourselves for hell."

15th day of training

In the middle of the air, the two strongest Saiyans in the living world were battling each other using their full Super Saiyan powers. They were clashing, punching, charging at each other with all their might. The two finally had a battle worth fighting, something they didn't have since the Cell Games. It's now their chance to test themselves and to prove their powers. Meanwhile, Piccolo and All Might were keeping an eye on Midoriya who was having a hard time collecting the trash while wearing the weighted clothes he got from the Namekian.

All Might: "He doesn't seem to use all his potential, does he?"

Piccolo (answering): "Nope, until now he didn't release his full power. All he needs is just motivation, and I know the best one." Suddenly, the two huge warriors started launching blasts and scrap on the poor boy who was running in fear.

Izuku (scared to death): "GUYS! What are you doing?! STOP!"

Piccolo: "When you fight your opponent he won't show you any mercy."

All Might: "Pros are always risking their lives, either you survive or you die. Run faster if you wanna live!"

Meanwhile with the Saiyans…

Vegeta (excited): "I should, you're a little bit stronger than you were five years ago against Cell!"

Gohan (excited as well): "You too, Vegeta. I can say we are now equal in power, even though I still can beat you using Super Saiyan 2."

Vegeta: "Maybe, but it doesn't mean I don't have more." Then, he started screaming and increasing his power turning into Super Saiyan Grade 2 aka Ascended Super Saiyan, and launched a powerful Final Flash at his opponent who quickly avoided it.

Gohan: "Wait, Vegeta, doesn't this form drain your energy?"

Vegeta: "It does but I learned to control it a bit. I have about 2 hours and a half 'till I drain all of my energy, now fight! Show me all that you have!"

Gohan (with a smile): "As you wish." And in a second, he transformed into his strongest form: The Super Saiyan 2. Even though he could've defeated him, Gohan avoided using his full power so he can enjoy the battle for the longest time possible. At the same time, Izuku was watching their fight in amazement and admirably.

Izuku (speechless): "A-A-Amazing… So, this is… Gohan's full power…? I… I can feel the ground shaking around me… I had never ever seen a hero that strong… No wonder that he beat Cell. I wish… I wish I can someday be as strong as you, Gohan…"

Piccolo (shouting loudly): "Midoriya!"

Izuku: "Huh? What?!"

All Might (throwing old heavy stuff at the boy): "How many times should I repeat 'Don't lose your focus'!"

Izuku (running in fear): "Ahh! I'm sorry! I won't repeat it!"

Piccolo (launching Ki blasts): "Shut up and move faster!"

2nd month of training

The five heroes were sitting on the beach doing some meditation exercises to better control their power.

All Might: "So, this is how you usually train?"

Gohan: "Shhh."

All Might (quietly): "Sorry."

Piccolo (Speaking to Izuku): "Close your eyes. Be calm. Try to bring out the energy in your body and gather all of it in your hands. These are the basics in controlling Ki."

The youngest male repeated his mentor's words and tried to do as he said. He needs to create at least one small energy ball and with that, he'll complete the first step in using his body's energy. He did his best in following the orders of the green Namekian. He tried, and tried, and tried until…

Gohan (joyfully): "Izuku, open your eyes…"

Izuku: "What?" And when he did, he couldn't believe it: he finally made a small green energy ball in his hands. The green-haired male jumped with joy and started screaming in happiness: "I did it! I did it!" Until suddenly, it disappeared. The boy was confused about what happened but then, his confusion turned into pain when a strong hand almost smashed his head to pieces.

Vegeta (angrily): "You fool, your excessive happiness caused you to be distracted. If you'll always jump and scream like a crazy man each time you succeed, we won't be able to do anything!"

Izuku (in pain): "I-I-I-I'm s-s-so-r-ry…."

Gohan (patting on his friend's head): "Vegeta, don't you think this was a bit harsh."

Vegeta (with annoyance): "Harsh? And since when the training was soft, Gohan?"

Piccolo: "You know, Gohan. Midoriya reminds me of you when you were a little crying brat. Maybe if I put him in the wilderness alone as I did with you he may become a strong warrior very fast."

Izuku (in shock and fear): "Wilderness?!"

All Might: "Now, now, calm down young man, no one is going to the wilderness. Mr. Piccolo, I owe you a lot for caring about my student, but in the meantime, we're preparing him to enter U.A. not to battle that Frieza guy and the androids. We need him just to be able to sustain One For All, no more."

Piccolo (sighing): "Sigh, fine. But sooner or later, he must be able to clean the roof with beings like Frieza and even Cell."

Izuku: "Can't promise you 'bout Cell but… I'll try to get to Freezer's… I mean Frieza's level."

All Might: "And that reminds me, it's 7:45. Now is the time for you two to..."

Gohan/Izuku (with a boring tone): "Clean the beach, we know."

7th month of training…

It's been already 6 a.m. In the nearby park, Vegeta and Midoriya were doing some hogging with All Might leading them in the front riding his Hi Wheel Hoverboard. The two were almost moving at the same speed, not because the Saiyan prince was holding back, but because he was, as the young boy, wearing some weighing clothes so he could feel like he was in his gravity chamber. The poor kid was having problems during this hard time, it wasn't just that the clothes were too heavy for him, but at the same time, he was carrying an old heavy metal safe that weighs over 100 pounds. Then he started running slower and slower, annoying the Saiyan.

Vegeta (with annoyance and anger): "What're you doing?! It's been only two hours and you're already tired?!"

Izuku (exhausted/breathing hardly): "Sorry… Master… Vegeta… It's just… these things that Mr. Piccolo gave me weighs about 90 pounds… and with this safe… it's just… so… so hard…"

Vegeta (getting angry): "And so what?! If you don't know, mine weighs 24 tons!"

Toshinori: "Well, I'm not surprised. Remember, you are over 20 times stronger than me in my prime, and in only your base form."

Vegeta (angry): "Hey, are you with me or him?!"

The two knew what this was: when they turned they saw their pupil lying on the ground unable to move. Seems like he already surpassed his limits. The two saw it coming, yet they were really disappointed.

Vegeta (shouting angrily): "Hey, wake up! This is neither the place nor the time to sleep!"

Toshinori (shouting): "There are only three months left! We should not lose one single second in resting!"

Vegeta (shouting angrily): "If that's all that you have you'll never make it!"

Toshinori (shouting): "Wanna give up? Wanna take it easy and rest today?"

Vegeta (angry): "Come on All Might, let's go and find a better successor worth training. It will take us thousands if not millions of years to make a hero from this piece of disappointment!"

Then, the green-haired male tried his best to move even if he was forced to crawl to the ground. The Saiyan prince was surprised that the boy had such a will and determination to overcome his weakness, as for All Might, he wasn't very happy with this. He was afraid that his student's overwork may lead to the opposite effect they were looking for. He scolded him saying: "Young man, you haven't been sticking to the plan, have you? Overdoing it will have the opposite effect! Don't you want to get in?"

Vegeta (furiously): "What are you fool talking about?! This is exactly what he needs! If he wants to be the greatest hero ever, he needs to go further beyond his limits! Sticking to that stupid plan won't give us any results!"

Toshinori (angry): "For the last time I'm training him to be able to inherit One For All, not to fight one of your super-strong villains! O.K.?!"

Vegeta (furiously): "All right, let's say that a monster far stronger than Cell appeared, do you want him to just sit around watching us come to the rescue?! He must be that level of power or he will never be the top hero!"

Toshinori (getting angrier/bringing the papers of the plan): "Should I remind you that WE ALL discussed this plan and agreed on it?! You even signed on it! So either you follow it or bye-bye!"

Vegeta (furiously): "GIVE ME THIS!" And quickly, before the number one hero could even react, the adult Saiyan took the plan from his hand, and furiously, he cut it into pieces to the shock of the pro hero. At this moment, the Symbol of Peace was unable to sustain himself any longer, he transformed immediately into his muscular form and grabbed Vegeta by his shirt and screamed in his face furiously: "Do you know how long it took me to have a copy of this plan! Vegeta (furiously): "Don't speak to me with such a language! First, your way is ridiculous and it'll take us such a long time to reach our goal! Secondly, you said it earlier by yourself, I'm over twenty times stronger than you in your prime age and only in my base form! Don't think that just because your Earth's so-called greatest hero ever I wouldn't dare to smash… Your… Ugly… FACE!"

All Might (furious): "And don't think that just because you're thousands of times stronger than me I wouldn't dare to fight you in order to defend my own opinion! If you don't like the idea, why did you join us in the first place?!"

Vegeta (furiously/turning into a Super Saiyan): "Because I promised Gohan that I'll make from him and his useless friend true HEROES! Not some clowns who say nonsense and wear stupid clothes like if they were in an american circus!"

All Might (screaming furiously): "AND YOU ALSO PROMISED ME TO FOLLOW THE PLAN THAT YOU CUT INTO PIECES MOMENTS AGO!"

Izuku (standing up/screaming): "Would you two stop FIGHTING!"

With these words, the boy stopped a battle that was almost gonna happen. The two were surprised to see the kid standing up again, even though he seemed like he's gonna collapse at any moment. All Might left the prince's shirt who calmed down and returned to his base form. After being sure his mentors were in full silence, Midoriya continued: "All Might, I owe you everything: my childhood, my training, and my dream… But, Vegeta is right, I cannot totally stick with this plan… I need… I need to work harder… I have to work a lot more than other people… Or I won't catch up… I want to be worthy of being the number one hero… I want to be much stronger… I want to be like you two… I want… I want to be… I want to be like GOHAN! I want to be strong enough to defeat enemies such as Nappa, Frieza, and even Cell… I want to be a hero like my friend!" And then, he fell down ready to hit the ground again, but he was surprised when he felt a hand grabbing him and lifting him up. It was the hand of the last full-blooded Saiyan on Earth who spoke to him saying: "Even though you're weak, you want to be strong like us, huh? You really have big dreams for a kid. Now I understand why Gohan is focusing on helping you." And suddenly, the tall muscular hero brought his two partners into a one-sided hug, much to the annoyance of Vegeta, and said joyfully: "You're looking for the future, I love that! You really are a go-getter fanboy! I like that!"

Vegeta (with annoyance): "Can you please break this stupid hug?!"

All Might (breaking the hug): "Sorry. (talking with Midoriya) Listen, young man, if that's the case, then you really can't rush things now. But I understand your feelings. I promise you that from now on, will try to make from you a galaxy… no, a UNIVERSE-BUSTER! Leave it all to this old guy to adjust your plan!"

Izuku: "You're not old… All Might…" With his comment, All Might started laughing hilariously. As for Vegeta, he just smiled and said proudly: "I think your friend will be proud of you."

All Might: "That reminds me, where's young Gohan? I haven't seen him for two weeks. Is he O.K.?"

Vegeta: "He said he's gonna train on using a new technique but he didn't tell which one, he wanted it to be a surprise for us."

Suddenly, out of nowhere, the young Saiyan appeared in front of the three surprisingly, much to their fear and surprise. He was putting two hands on his head like the way his dad did when using Instant Transmission. The latter cried joyfully: "I did it! I finally did it! Thanks, King Kai!" And then a voice was heard from the sky saying: "You're welcome, Gohan. But please, next time you want me to train you, don't ask me during my vacation please."

Gohan (chuckling): "Fine, I'll try."

All Might/Vegeta/Izuku (shocked): "Whose sound was that?!"

Gohan (answering): "It's King Kai, my father's mentor, remember? I asked him to teach me Instant Transmission and he did! Now I can travel to any place instantly!"

Izuku: "Seriously! Oh, I'd like to learn this technique too!"

Gohan: "Alright but everything is on its time, buddy. You already learned to perform Ki blasts and to control your energy. Now you need to know how to fly and create strong Ki attacks like the Kamehameha."

Vegeta: "Or the Galick Gun instead."

All Might: "Speaking of training, Gohan, don't you think it's time for you to go clean the beach? You already missed doing that tens of times in the last few days."

Gohan: "Yes, I forgot. (grabbing his friend) Come on, Izuku. I'll take you with me."

Izuku (tired): "Thanks… Gohan…"

Then, the two flew away leaving their two mentors alone. Those two almost forgot that they had an argument a few minutes ago. But now, they're acting as nothing happened. Still, they both knew they needed to apologize to each other. Toshinori decided to start first, so, he took a breath and then spoke with the Saiyan prince saying: "Listen, about what happened before, I-"

Vegeta (cutting him): "I know what you're going to say and… I'm sorry too… I shouldn't have controlled him to achieve my own desires. He's your student at the end…"

All Might (replying): "Actually, his student of all us four."

Vegeta (confused): "Four?"

All Might: "Yes, four. Me, you, Piccolo and… Gohan. I should say, those two share a very strong bond with each other, they care for each other, they help each other… You know, Vegeta, in the end, you're not such a bad guy at the end. Gohan was right about you, you're really a nice person."

Vegeta (getting angry): "What?! No, I'm not! I'm the prince of destruction, Vegeta! I'm only helping all of you for my own purposes!" And then he jumped into the air and flew away.

All Might knew that Vegeta was really a good person but he just didn't want to show that to anyone because of his pride, and that was true. Since the Cell Games, since the day his son was killed in front of his eyes by Cell, since the time his rival and even his friend Kakarot sacrificed his life to save him, his son, and the whole universe, something changed in him. He started acting more nicely to the others, he became more caring about his family especially Trunks, he even opened a hero agency in Capsule Corp. Five to six years ago, he lost his rival and opponent, but now, he found a new one: his rival's son. For a boy at that age, Gohan was able to reach levels Vegeta himself didn't dream of. Now he has someone to train with and fight with, he can't also lose him, nor anyone else. Many years ago, the Saiyan prince came to destroy this planet and its inhabitants, but now… he wants to protect it. A new Vegeta was born.

Back with King Kai

On the planet of the Dai Kai, the old short blue-skinned male was standing in the gardens with his monkey Bubbles and his cricket Gregory. He seemed as if he was irritated by something. Then he started speaking to himself: "Those Saiyans, I cannot understand them. They always think about training and training and training! Oh god, I took a few days off from training Goku so his son comes and asks me to train him. Sigh, who knows when my next holiday will be."

At an early time in the morning, Toshinori was riding his truck to the beach as usual. Where's young Gohan and young Midoriya?"

Piccolo: "We were going to ask you the same thing."

Vegeta: "Seems like they really stayed there cleaning the area as they said yesterday."

All Might: "Great, that shorts the way. We can head immediately there." And the three completed their way to the seaside. And when they reached the seashore, a very loud voice was heard. It was the sound of two young teenagers screaming: "We did it!" The three lifted their heads up, only for their eyes to widen from the scene. Gohan and Izuku were standing on the top of all the scrap that was there yesterday, with Gohan lifting his friend's arm into the sky. Their three mentors couldn't believe what they just saw. In just one single night, the two were able to collect what was left of junk and put it all together. They even cleaned outside of where they were told to clean! Seems like they miscalculated the two of them again. The only single thing they were able to do is just staring at this scene with their jaws open.

Vegeta: "How…?"

Piccolo: "Im-Impossible…!"

Toshinori: "Oh my… Oh my… (transforming into his muscular form) …goodness!"

Then, the two young heroes jumped from their position to the sand of the beach where their masters quickly followed them with smiles across their faces. All Might was the happiest one among all of them because finally he completed training his students to enter the U.A. and his successor is ready to inherit his power. Izuku smiled back at him saying: "All Might… I did it… I did it!"

All Might (gladly): "Yes, you two really surpassed my imagination. Teenagers are amazing. (Then he took his phone and showed his student the picture that he took of him ten months ago when they started their training) Here, take a look. It's you, ten months ago."

Vegeta (taking a look at Izuku's new muscular body): "For a Quirkless kid at your age, I can say that you did well."

Piccolo: "We still can make you a lot stronger."

Gohan (smiling): "And when you face someone you can't defeat, be sure we'll all be with you. So, how do you feel now?"

Izuku (with teary eyes): "I feel like I'm cheating… You guys did all this for me… I'm too blessed…"

Vegeta: "We seriously need to find a solution to fix those leaky eyes of yours."

Gohan (joyfully/wiping his best friend's tears): "Izuku, buddy, you came to this level by your own strength, we just helped you. You must feel proud of yourself. Now I think we both are ready to enter the heroes courses!"

All Might: "Not yet, there's one thing left."

Piccolo (smiling): "It's time for Izuku to inherit his new Quirk."

All Might (proudly): "This is something I was once told: Something that you receive because you're lucky and something that you are given because you are recognized is different in essence. Take that to heart… both of you. Young Midoriya, this is the power that you earned because of your own effort." At this moment, Midoriya was ready to get his new Quirk and be One For All's new user, but he was surprised when his idol gave him a piece of his hair ordering him to eat it.

Izuku/Gohan/Vegeta/Piccolo (shocked): "Whhhhhaaaaaaaattttttttt?!"

Piccolo: "Is this some kind of sick joke?!"

All Might: "Believe me it's not, it doesn't matter what it is as long as he takes in my DNA."

Izuku (shocked): "It's too different from what I imagined!"

Gohan (in shock): "All Might you can't be serious! How can a person eat your hair?!"

All Might: "Sorry, there's no time for questions! You'll be late for the exam! Come, come, come!"

Izuku (refusing): "No, I can't do that!"

Vegeta: "Can you give me this for a moment."

All Might: "Please don't tell me you'll cut it as well."

Vegeta: "Don't worry, I'm gonna just feed it to him. (turning to Izuku) Open your mouth."

Izuku (confused): "What?" But before he could react, the Saiyan Prince punched him hard in the stomach to the point that he screamed in pain, so he took advantage of this and fed him the piece of hair.

Vegeta: "Well, it's done."

Later…

Our two heroes were flying in the air with Nimbus enjoying the view from above the clouds until they reached U.A. 's entrance where they said goodbye to the magical cloud and walked together to their destiny. Finally, their chance to enter the #1 ranked high school for heroics had come. Who knows what kind of exams are waiting for them. They need to be prepared for the worst.

Izuku: "Glad we made it in time."

Gohan: "Me, too. Sorry, we couldn't test your new power in time. And sorry also for the way you received it."

Izuku: "No problem, and please don't remind me of how I ate All Might's hair. You know, I may have swallowed it, but I don't feel any difference. Do you think it worked?"

Izuku (smiling back to his friend): "Yes. Thanks, Gohan, for everything."

Gohan (happily/bringing his friend closer to him): "Anytime. In the end, what are friends for."

?: "Outta my way, you extras!" (When the two friends turned back, they saw their old classmate, Katsuki Bakugou, who like always was angry even for nothing. The two weren't so glad to see him here.) "Don't stand in front of me, or I'll kill both of you."

Izuku (panicked): "M-Morning. L-let's all do our best…"

Gohan (with a serious face): "Katsuki."

Katsuki (turning back angrily): "What do you want, you freak?"

Gohan (seriously): "This is a new year for all of us, so you better let it be a good and peaceful year in the U.A. or maybe you'll end up expelled or beaten up badly by my own hands on the first day at the academy. O.K.?"

Katsuki (angrily/ walking away): "Sigh, like if you two will even stand one second in the tests."

Gohan( getting angry): "Oh, seriously? Maybe you forgot that beat down I gave you a few months ago!"

Izuku (calming his partner): "Gohan, please calm down! I don't want to start the day with a problem."

Gohan (calming down): "Ahh, fine. I'll let him go just for you. Anyway, Izuku, you need to stop fearing him. You're not that weak kid from before. You're now a whole new person."

Izuku (shaking): "Yes, you're right. I've been training for the last ten months and now, I'm ready to take my first step into being a hero." But sadly for the green-haired teenager, his first step was almost gonna be his last as well, 'cause when he was walking, his feet tripped and his head almost hit the ground. Luckily, a nearby girl with brown hair used her Quirk to save him, making him float in the air.

The girl: "Are you alright?"

Izuku (panicked): "W-What?! What's happening? Why am I floating like this?!"

Gohan (worried): "Can you please deactivate your Quirk."

The girl: "Sure thing." And then she touched the young teenager leading him to stop floating in the air.

Gohan: "Phew, thanks Mrs. …?"

The girl (smiling): "Ochaco. Ochaco Uraraka."

Izuku (nervous): "N-N-Nice… t-to… me-me-meet you…"

Ochaco (happily): "Nice to meet you, too. Sorry for using my Quirk without asking first. But it'd be bad luck if you fell, right? (Uraraka noticed that the boy's face started blushing after talking to her. She thought he was nervous about the exams.) Are you nervous?"

Izuku (nervously): "W-What? Me? No, I… aaa… I'm…"

Gohan (chuckling): "Actually, I think he's blushing from something else. Or should I say, from someone else."

Ochaco (confused): "Huh? Someone?"

Izuku: "GOHAN, STOP! THIS IS NOT FUNNY AT ALL!"

Gohan (laughing): "Relax, I'm only teasing you no more." Then, the three heard another girl from behind calling for Uraraka. She was a beautiful fair-skinned young woman of very slim figure build and below average height with straight black hair that has side bangs with five loose short strands over her forehead, light-blue eyes, and a slender frame yet athletic physique. She also had low beautiful pigtails that stopped at her chest. When Gohan saw her, his heartbeat quickened and his face blushed as well. He also had a strange feeling that he never had before. Could it be what he thought it was?. That feeling that only comes one time in life?

Ochaco: "Videl. You're finally here."

Videl: "Sorry I couldn't catch with you earlier. I had some problems with my alarm. (Looking at the two males) Who are these two? Do you know them?"

Ochaco: "No, I've just met them a few moments ago."

Videl: "Alright. Come let's go before we'll be late." And so the two girls went together to the entrance door of U.A. but they stopped once they heard the tall teen they met asking them to wait. The two turned to see what's the problem, then, Gohan blushed a bit and said nervously: "I just… wanted to wish you good luck."

Videl (confused): "Umm, thanks. Now come on, Uraraka." Gohan's face stayed with the same emotion for a few seconds until Izuku approached him and whispered in his ears with a chuckle: "I think some buddy had fallen in L-O-V-E. Right, Gohan?"

Gohan: "Alright, Izuku, stop! I get it, you're trying to return to me what I said to you earlier but now is not the time. Ahh, come on. We too need to enter before the doors close."

Later in the Exam Orientation…

The pupils were sitting in their sites waiting to know the types of tests they'll pass. Suddenly, the lights were on, a huge screen appeared in front of them with the academy's symbol 'U.A.' and then appeared a tall, slim man with long blond spiky hair and a small brown mustache and he had a large smile on his face. He was wearing a black jacket with a very tall collar, upturned and complete with studs, and matching black pants and knee-high boots. Then, the man spoke excitedly with a high voice: "For all you examinee listeners turning in, welcome to my show today! Everybody say hey!" But the whole room was in total silence. "No Hey? All right, what if I said that this year, on the U.A. 200th anniversary, there'll be two extra students in Class 1-A! Doesn't it seem amazing?!" Again, the whole room was in total silence. "What a refined response. Then I'll quickly present to you the rundown on the practical exam! Are you ready?! Yeah!" Again, the whole room was in total silence.

Gohan: "Pss, Izuku, do you know who this hero is?"

Izuku (joyfully): "It's the Voice Hero, Present Mic! Wow…!"

Gohan: "So, this is Present Mic, huh? Wait, isn't he the guy we always listen to on the radio?"

Izuku (joyfully): "Yes, it's him. I'm so moved to meet him! All the teachers at U.A. are pro heroes!"

Katsuki: "Deku."

Izuku: "Kacchan, what is it?"

Katsuki: "Two simple words: 'Shut' and 'Up'. Shut up. O.K. ?"

Present Mic: "As it says in the application requirements, you listeners will be conducting ten-minute mock urban battles after this! You can bring whatever you want with you. After the presentation, you'll head to the specified battle center, okay?" And again, the whole room was in total silence. "Okay?!"

Katsuki: "In other words, they won't let you work with your friends, huh?"

Izuku: "Y-You're right. Even though our examinee numbers are consecutive, each one of us three is assigned to different battle centers."

Katsuki (angrily/talking to Izuku): "Don't look. I'll kill you. Damn, now I can't crush any of you two."

Gohan: "Hmph, like if you even can."

Present Mic: "Three different types of faux villains are stationed in each battle center. You earn points for each of them based on their level of difficulty. Your goal, dear listeners, is to use your Quirks to earn points by immobilizing the faux villains. Of course, attacking other examinees and any other unheroic actions are prohibited!"

Katsuki: "What?!"

Gohan (teasing his partner): "Isn't this sad, Kacchan, you cannot crush anyone at all, or… Bye Bye U.A."

Katsuki (angry): "Can you shut your mouth for a while?!"

Then, between the middle of the students, a tall muscular teenager with short dark blue hair, glasses, and a serious expression stood up raising his hand to have permission to ask a question. He said: "May I ask a question?"

Present Mic (pointing to the boy): "Okay!"

The teenager: "On the printout, there are four types of villains. If that is a misprint, then U.A., the most prominent school in Japan, should be ashamed of that fooled mistake!
