Blake stood in front of the victim's parents, hoping to catch a lead that he could pursue while Rollins talked to Lily Romanova, the sixteen-year-old victim. The pair had decided that having Rollins talk to Lily might help her feel a little more at ease while giving her statement. For someone that had seen his fair share of horrors in Los Angeles, Blake was extremely bothered about the case. How could anyone rape someone, break their arm, give them a concussion, and just drop them off at home like nothing happened? he wondered sadly. She's a teenager trying to live her life and find her way! He did his best to relax and sent a caramel-piercing gaze towards the Romanovs. "I hate to ask this, but can you think of anyone that may want to hurt your daughter?"
"I can't imagine who would want to hurt our daughter," Anastasia Romanova told Blake, her voice threatening to break like a cracked window.
"Forgive me for asking this, but has she had any exes, or maybe some guys, that she didn't exactly... like?" Blake continued softly, his mind already in overdrive because of the sensitive nature of the case.
Ilya Romanova glanced sideways at his wife before answering. "There was one that we didn't like…"
Blake took note of Ilya's words. "What's this boy's name..?"
"D- Damian Williams," Anastasia choked out. "He's Lily's ex-boyfriend..."
Blake wrote down the name in his notepad. "Do you know of any reasons why your daughter and Damian didn't get along?"
"He... he began pressing our daughter to have sex with him, and she kept saying no," Ilya replied hesitantly. "He got angry about her saying no, so Lily broke off the relationship."
"Mr. Romanova, how would you define 'angry..?'" Blake asked.
"Saying stuff like 'you're making a mistake' and 'you'll pay for this!'" Ilya sputtered, his face red with rage. The mix of terror and rage caught Blake off guard, and he knew that the squad would have to act fast just in case Ilya got any ideas.
The tall, handsome newcomer took a second to process what he'd just learned from the Romanovas- Damian Williams was a definite person of interest (POI) and Blake knew that the squad would look into it.
"Do... do you think he could've done this?" Anastasia sputtered.
"Mrs. Romanova, I don't know for sure if he did or did not do this, but rest assured that we will definitely look into it and ask him some questions." He produced one of his new business cards and offered it to Anastasia. "Here's my business card; feel free to call if you think of anything else. Thank you for your time."
Anastasia could only take the card and nod before she turned away and rested her face on Ilya's chest. Her daughter had been attacked, maybe by her ex-boyfriend, and she wanted Blake and his partner to catch the person responsible.
