Loving this story so far, really wish I found this earlier.
When does this take place in the show, anyway? I thought it was the start of summer by how Luz was writing her book report without the snakes and fireworks
Writer: Thank you and I'm glad you found it when you did.
This takes place in the beginning before the show even starts. I always believed that the event of the book report happened earlier in the year and summer camp was a couple months later. But in this AU Luz actually held back on the snakes and fireworks saving her from camp later on.

Oddly enough I haven't read much fan-fics for Amity in the human realm. A lot of my inspiration is coming from Star Vs. The Forces of evil.

I really like this story so far, I've been browsing fanfic pretty much all day and this one had the best grammar yet-
Writer: Thank you very much. I try to keep my grammar as good as possible. I personally dislike fanfic that I have to really try hard to read.
WELP... GUESS WHO'S BACK! Yeah sorry, for the long break. A combination of getting sick, then having writer's block for this chapter really delayed it. But eventually I sat down and finished the chapter. A lot happens in this chapter so I hope you enjoy it.
Also on the other hand... 4K VIEWS! It was just last chapter that I was freaking over 2k views. Now it doubled that. Like I said before. I can't thank you guys enough. And here's to me hopefully not disappearing again

"Well she's in the human realm, and at this point, she could be anywhere in that realm, she could even be dead."
The words echoed around the study of the manor, as a lone observer watched. They had been waiting for the chance to capture the owl lady for a while, and it had finally come. Now was the time to execute.
They were broken out of their thoughts as the door slowly opened.
"Odalia dear, you in here?" Alador Blight said as he opened the door all the way. Odalia, ignoring her husband's call, started speaking to him, "This is perfect Alador. Everything we wanted is in the grasp of my hand. All we have to do is capture that owl lady." Alador pulled his goggle off his eyes, "Yes, but what about Amity?" Odalia turned away waving him off, "Yes, yes, we'll get her back too," she looked back at him, "Are they done?"
Alador sighed, "Yes they are done, and ready to go." Odalia smiled, "Perfect," she looked at the crystal ball, "Send them out immediately."
Alador nodded, "Yes dear." He left shutting the door behind him.
Odalia looked up at the family picture in her study,
"Soon. Soon we'll live like royalty."
"I'm so dead!" Luz said to herself as she was running for her life. How did she know that today was gonna end up like this? She thought it was gonna be a typical day at school, but no.
Up ahead Luz saw her escape and bolted after it. She ran, ran, and ran until…
*Fweeet*
"20 minutes and 13 seconds. That worse than last month Noceda," Mr. Johnson, the P.E. teacher said as he wrote down Luz's time.
Luz, while leaning on her knees said, "Why must you put us through this torture." Mr. Johnson finished writing on his clipboard and said, "Its not torture Luz, just exercise," and walked off.
As Luz stood there resting, Amity walked up to her, "Hey Luz." Luz shot up not trying to look tired, "Oh hey, Amity. What are you do-aagh," Luz said as she tried to look cool by leaning on something, forgetting that there was nothing to lean on causing her to fall.
Amity giggled. "Here, let me help," Amity said, holding a hand out for Luz. Luz accepted it and Amity helped her up. As she was helping her up she saw a soccer ball flying right towards Luz, and without any hesitation, spun her around into a deep dance bow.
Luz, caught off guard by Amity's sudden movement, blushed as she stared at Amity. "Are you okay?" Amity asked, still holding Luz. All she could do was nod. Amity, finally noticing their position, brought Luz back up and let go.
They both looked away from each other to hide their embarrassment, but their moment was broken by a not-so-friendly voice.
"Oops Sorry, Didn't see you there. Thought you were the goal," Amanda said as she walked up to the two with her group. Luz looked away while Amity stepped forward, "I thought I told her to leave Luz alone!" Amity said threateningly.
"Oh what are you gonna do, Ms. New Girl," Amanda said, getting up in Amity's face. Amity, not backing up, said, "You wanna find out?" Amity's eyes started to turn ever so slightly purple.
But before Amity could cover the girl head-to-toe in abomination, Amanda backed off. "Tch, let's go girls. Let's leave these weirdos in their little 'witch' world," she said walking off.
As they were moving away Amity summoned a tiny bit of abomination goo to cover Amanda's feet, causing her to trip. She immediately shot back up and looked around, "Who did that!" she yelled. Amanda looked back at Amity and Luz but they were already far off walking in the other direction.
The words of the owl lady floated around the twins' heads as they made their way through school. Eda had reassured them that she would be ok. She said if Amity was as strong as they were, she would be fine.
This made them feel a little better, but who wouldn't be worried, their sister was in another unknown dimension. They wanted to go right away but Eda stopped them, telling them that she would prepare supplies for them.
Now here they were, sitting at lunch. Picking at their food, with no appetite. They both sat in silence until a voice called out to them.
"Hey guys, Where's Amity?"
They both looked surprised to see who walked up to them. Willow Park, Amity's previous best friend, and current bully victim. They both knew what had gone down between the two, even their parents' involvement. So they would have never expected her of all people to care about Amity.
Willow went on, "I know me and Amity don't have the best relationship, but I'm still worried, she hasn't come to class for like three days."
"Don't worry she-," Emera stopped. She had planned to lie but felt Willow should know. "She's currently missing right now," She said, slumping her head down.
"Oh no, do you know where she is?" Willow asked worriedly. This time Edric spoke, "Yeah, she is in the human realm, and we have no idea what to expect over there."
"Wait, the human realm? And you guys are planning to go after her?!" Willow asked surprised. "Well, yeah. We can't just leave our sister in another dimension," Emera said.
Willow didn't speak for a moment before saying, "Wait, right here," and sped off. The twins were dumbfounded by the girl's sudden departure. Without giving them time to think, Willow came back with a boy they had never seen before.
"Hey guys, I'd like you to meet Augustus Porter, or Gus for short." Willow said as she walked up to the two. Ed spoke, "Oh I've heard of you, you're that prodigy from the year below," Ed stuck his hand out," Edric Blight, nice to meet you."
Gus looked at Ed's hand and ignored it saying, "I know who you are, Blight, and I also know how your sister treated Willow."
Willow put a hand on Gus's shoulder, and leaned in to whisper, "Gus we talked about this." Gus sighed and shook Ed's hand, "Fine I'll help."
Emera stood there confused. "Help with what exactly?" she asked. "Well if you are going to the human realm, I thought you might need a guide, so…" Willow started to explain before putting her arms out," Presenting… The president of the Human Appreciation Society!"
Ed and Em looked at each other before looking back at Willow and Gus.
"What?!"
Amity and Luz were walking through the halls after pe class. They had some time to waste, so they were in no hurry. As the two were walking Amity noticed whispering, similar to the first day, but this time it was different. It wasn't at them. It was like everyone was restless about something.
With her curiosity winning, Amity asked, "Why does everyone seem so nervous today?" Luz turned to Amity, "Oh yeah, Don't know if you have them in the Boiling Isles but…" Luz stopped as she was cut off by the announcements.
"Hello, students! I'm sure you all already know what this announcement is for. So without further ado. Your Endless Summer Fun Dance royalty is…. AMANDA WRIGHT!"
Everyone was silent, and Amity crossed her arms, "Serves her right." she said to herself. But Amity was shocked when everyone started cheering. She immediately asked Luz, "What's all the cheering for? Isn't being royalty for a dance a bad thing?" Luz tilted her head in confusion, "What do you mean? Do dance royalty get sacrificed to some school demon or something?" Luz said as a joke.
Amity looked at Luz with a serious face, "Actually yeah. Whoever is Grom royalty at my school is forced to fight their worst fear." Luz responded, "Woah, thats extreme. Well here, people act like they're actually royalty," Luz squinted at Amanda in the distance, "and Amanda gets it every year."
Amity looked at Amanda too, "Well it's too bad she's not Grom Royalty." Luz just giggled. They both stood there without saying anything for a while before Amity nudged Luz, "So… You asking anyone to the dance?" Luz looked away rubbing her arm, "I don't know, I got kicked out of our last dance for dressing like an otter. So I thought I wouldn't go this time." Luz said and then added. "Of course, I don't have anyone like that right now."
Amity didn't know what to say but did feel a little happy to know that Luz's Dance card was open. Amity was just about to ask Luz a question but was stopped by the bell ringing and Luz grabbing her hand and pulling her. "Oh, crap we are gonna be late. Let's go."
Amity let herself get pulled. She would ask her question later.
"Oh man, I'm so excited. I'm actually going to the human realm," Gus said as he walked with Willow, Edric, and Emera on their way to the Owl House.
"Did you know that humans drill out their teeth?" Gus said as he looked at a picture for a dentist ad. "Not to ruin your excitement Gus, but we don't even know if the owl lady will allow it." Willow said as they approached the owl house.
Gus was against the whole helping the Blights in the beginning but after they explained everything, he was more than happy to help. Who would turn down a free trip to the human realm.
As they walked up to the door Edric and Emera immediately put up anti-hooty countermeasures and summoned a group of bugs. With Hooty out of the way, the group hurried inside.
"Oh great, there's more of you," Eda said as they closed the door behind them. Emera started apologizing, "Sorry Eda, but they offered to help us. And Gus here is a human expert." Emera gestured at Gus, who gave a small wave to the Owl Lady.
Eda rubbed her chin while staring at Gus, "An expert, huh?" She reached into her hair and pulled something out, "Quickly! What is this?!"
"Oh that's easy," Gus said confidently, "it's a human torture device." Eda looked down the slinky in her hand, "Correct!", Eda started to put the slinky back in her hair, "You're not so bad kid," Eda looked at Willow.
"So, what about you?" Eda questioned Willow. Starting to panic, Willow asked, "What about me?" "What kind of magic do you use dummy," Eda said tapping on Willows's forehead. "Oh, I'm a part of the abomination track, Mrs. Owl Lady," Willow responded.
Eda rolled her eyes, "Ugh, please just call me Eda. And anyway you look more proficient in plant magic to me." Willow put her hands up in denial, "Oh no Mrs… I mean Eda. I'm not that good at it."
"Oh really… quick catch!" Eda said as she launched a book at Willows's face. Willow reacting quickly, grew the plant near the windowsill to catch the book. "See told you," Eda said putting her hands on her hips. Willow looked at the plant holding the book in amazement.
"Alright you guys can all go," Eda said to the group. All of them started to get excited but Eda calmed them down, "Alright, Alright I know your excited, but your gonna have to wait a little longer." Emera immediately cried out, "But why? We have already have waited long enough!"
"Yes, I know. But with you two brining an extra two people, I need to pack extra supplies. And with King still out collecting supplies its gonna be a while. Anyways it will be safer for you guys to travel in the morning." Edric and Emera's shoulders slumped. Eda noticing, put a hand on each of their shoulders, "Don't worry you two, your sister is fine. And you'll find her." The twins stood up a bit higher as Eda walked to the hall to grab something.
"Here you'll need this," Eda said tossing a few blankets at the group. Gus looked at the blanket and asked, "What are these for?"
Eda popped her head from around the corner of the hall, "Well, for staying the night. You guys are leaving first thing in the morning." and walked off.
As Eda walked down the hall to her room she had a feeling that something terrible had happened to King.
Luz and Amity were sitting down in Luz's room, both reading Azura books, relaxing. Nothing much had happened the rest of the day at school. Just people sucking up to Amanda like usual. Luckily with her being appointed dance royalty, Amanda left Luz alone for the rest of the day.
While Amity was engrossed in the stories of Azura, Luz was restless, peering over her book multiple times to look at Amity. She knew it was a dumb thing to worry about but she couldn't stop worrying. Luz tapped her foot over and over again, and couldn't take it anymore as she shot up from her sitting position.
Amity looked up at her confused, "Is there something wrong Luz?" Luz waved her off and said nervously, "Something wrong with me? Pfft, as if." Amity looked at her questioningly. Luz not being able to take Amity's questioning gaze quickly said, "Um, I have to go to the bathroom… bye!" and sped off.
Luz ran to the bathroom and closed the door. Putting both hands on the counter, she looked at herself in the mirror.
"Come on Luz it's not that hard of a question," Luz said to her reflection.
"But what if she turns you down harshly?" the reflection asked.
"Amity wouldn't do that… would she?" Luz said worryingly.
After the reflection didn't say anything for a while, Luz ruffled her hair, "Ugh, why do I talk to you?" Luz asked the reflection.
"Well I'm you so…" the reflection said turning away.
Luz was now looking at the bathtub with her back to the door. "Alright Luz you got this. All you got to ask is…
Amity will you go to the dance with me?"
"Yes."
Luz's face immediately went bright red as she turned around to see Amity's face in the same state. Amity started talking quickly, "Well you got up quickly and I was worried so I just decided…"
Amity was cut off by Luz hugging her tightly, "Thank you." Amity said nothing as she hugged back. After a couple of moments, Luz broke the hug but kept her hands on Amity's shoulders.
"Alright let me try this again," Luz said taking a deep breath, "Amity Blight will you go to the dance with me?"
Amity quickly answered smiling, "YES!"
