Earth 1, Star City
The hunter had become the hunted.
He had spotted the Lance sisters about an hour ago, apparently window-shopping, undecided as from which store to purchase whatever clothes they had in mind. Staring into shop windows must be giving them a good opportunity to observe his casual stroll along the far side of the street. They were hardly the quarry he'd been looking for, but their presence here was interesting., making him wonder how many other Legends - and allies - were in the area. He considered what he knew about the younger one, Sara, which was that she was formidable - but he had come to the point of defeating her once. The question was, how did her sister compare to her?
He strolled the city streets, gradually heading towards his office, his home ground. It was while he was on the way that he spotted a second pair of 'tails' - the grey-haired one, Martin Stein, and his companion Jax. The presence of the FIRESTORM counterparts changed the picture. Now he definitely needed to get to his office, his Chronos suit. With an effort he stopped himself from beginning to move faster - he had a chance to lure these four into a trap and didn't want to waste the opportunity.
His office was no more than half a mile away when the four became six - in a highly significant way. Carter Hall and Kendra Saunders appeared round the corner some way ahead of him. Savage wanted them taken alive, which complicated things somewhat. The Chronos suit had not been designed with capture of opponents in mind, despite what improvements Nikki thought she'd made to it.
Keeping up a steady pace, thinking while he did so, brought him to the entrance to the street where his office was. It had also given him time to make a plan. He smiled as he thought about it - let's see how the Legends handle this! By the time he reached the front door the nearest of them, the FIRESTORM duo, were no more than a hundred yards away. His lip curled into a sneer - Stein was hardly a sprinter - he had more than enough time to prepare a few surprises.

Now that they had a location, Sara had thought of Leonard and got the message that the others were on their way - but wouldn't be there for several minutes. He was urging caution, but Jax had already opened the outer door and glanced inside.
''Just an empty hallway'' he reported. He might have heard a door close somewhere in the building, he wasn't sure.
He and Martin slowly eased their way inside, the other four close behind. For a moment they all stood and listened. Total silence - the building feels deserted, Sara thought. But somewhere in there was a brooding, angry, presence.
A momentary flash of irritation crossed her mind -not her own thought. Leonard had had to stop the car, letting Nora take the wheel, so he could concentrate on what was happening here.
It's a trap.
Obviously, she thought back. She needed her League skills for this.
The six of them slowly eased their way into the building, checking rooms as they went. Sara used her lock-pick on a couple of occasions - but was coming to the conclusion that there were only seven people in the building. They reached the stairs and looked at each other for a moment.
''We need to go up'' Martin said hesitantly. He, Jefferson, Carter and Kendra were not really suited to indoor fighting.
Sara began to lead the way, her trained senses alert for any trace of sound. Nothing.
They began to search the offices on this level. Nothing. They were half way along the corridor when they all jumped. A load bang had sounded behind them. Sara was the first to turn and her heart froze.
Chronos was standing in the corridor behind them.
''How did we miss -'' Jax groaned to himself.
Look at him. I can't -. The thought exploded in Sara's mind. He's not in there!
Chronos began moving towards them in an awkward, jerky, fashion, raising a weapon.
''It's on some kind of autopilot'' Sara got out. ''Leonard can't - ''
''Run'' Martin ordered. ''We'll hold him off.'' He and Jax clasped hands.
The four of them raced away, while FIRESTORM was doing what he could to hold Chronos off. Before too long the fire alarm went off and so did the main lights. Unfortunately the hallway split on this floor and they took a wrong turn. Doubling back, Sara did succeed in finding a back stairwell and soon they were all stumbling down and out through a fire door. In the distance sirens could be heard.
''Where are Martin and Jax?'' Carter stared at the building.
Kendra realised there was a possibly more urgent question.
Sara got it out first. ''Where's Laurel?''
