Chapter 6

As everyone made their way to the docks and calmed down. Mutsuki had stopped crying, but was still clinging on to Kisaragi as if her life depended on it. "Mutsuki," Kisaragi said, "are you feeling any better now?"

Mutsuki looks up to Kisaragi and nods, "Y…Yeah."

Although she was hesitant to ask, "Mutsuki, what did you mean by Fubuki's gone?"

Mutsuki seemed to shiver at the question, "well, two days ago she just left and we haven't been able to find her since."

Kisaragi was surprised by the news, she hadn't even thought of someone just up and leaving the naval district especially during a time like this. While she didn't want to judge this wasn't exactly the desirable choice on Fubuki's end; but that could wait for a later time. While Mutsuki seemed calm and composed, Kisaragi knew that the recent events were still placing a heavy weight on her mind. She tried to think of something to get Mutsuki's mind off of it but could only think of only one thing, "hey Mutsuki," she starts. Hearing Kisaragi call out to her causes Mutsuki to move her head to look at her in the eyes, wondering why she called her name. "Do you remember that promise I made to you," she asked?

Mutsuki's eyes then widened, "you mean?"

Kisaragi nodded, "weren't you gonna tell me something after our last mission together?"

Mutsuki nodded, "yeah." Blushing and looking away from Kisaragi, "well to put it simply I want to tell that I," she nearly hesitated to finish the sentence, "that I love you."

Kisaragi was at first taken back by Mitsuki's confession. But she knew that deep down she not only anticipated this moment but wanted it to happen too. She smiled, "well, I love you too Mutsuki," she said blushing before hugging Mutsuki.

As Mutsuki returned the hug she couldn't help but sigh out of happiness and regret, "I just wish Fubuki were here to see this, I'm sure she'd be very happy for us."

"Well what'll you say that after we get out of here we help find her together," Kisaragi offered.

Mutsuki looked up into Kisaragi's eyes again, smiling brightly, "yes let's." Before relaxing into her newfound lover, Mutsuki uttered, "thank you."

Kisaragi smiled, laying a hand on Mutsuki's head and replying, "anything for you, my love."
