Earth 1, Star City
The captured members pf Team Acheron were now locked in cells at A.R.G.U.S. and guarded by Watson's colleagues. Carter and Kendra, although not confined together, were in adjacent cells - no doubt to encourage them to talk to each other. They were careful to keep their conversational banal. Ralph was next to Kendra, Nate next to Carter, Rip beyond Nate.
At intervals, they were taken out of their cells, individually, and questioned by either Watson or a senior member of her team. Who had they killed? Exactly what vigilante activities had they engaged in? Where were the other members of this so-called 'Legends'? At the start, those were the questions - met with repeated answers that they hadn't killed anyone, they wouldn't talk about vigilantism, they didn't know where the others were.
Watson could be a bit more subtle.
''You were knocked out, kidnapped, kept prisoner by these people'' she reminded Ralph. ''Why are you so determined to protect them?''
His answer about team loyalty didn't convince her. She thought he was in this for the fame he hoped to gain from being part of this team.
As time went on, she was coming under pressure - from Director Michaels and from Ava Sharpe - the missing Evelyn's cousin. Just this morning, she had been asked to come to the Director's office. Sharpe ad been there, with what the Director assured her was important news.
''We can positively clear all Legends from involvement in murder on the night of the riot'' Sharpe announced. ''Aside from accidents and ordinary criminal activity, we've identified eight of Savage's people. All are currently being processed for repatriation or transfer to the law authorities.''
Rather than rolling over, as they may have been hoping, and releasing the prisoners, Watson sat back in her chair.
''That was mainly your investigation, I have a rather wider scope for mine. My findings to date indicate that you, Director Michaels, had an unexpected reaction to the Anti-Vigilante Laws. You took a number of suspect individuals into your organisation. Some of them still remain, within this X Unit.''
''I ordered them detained.'' Lyla pointed out.
''As part of the riot investigation. I was the one who actually caught them.'' She glanced at Ava for a moment. ''Might we speak alone, Director?''
Ava bristled slightly, but Lyla nodded, so she slipped irritably out of the office.
''What is it you want?'' Lyla asked bluntly.
''For you to realise just how dangerous some of these people are and give them up. Look at just two of them - a convicted felon who has acquired the ability to control other people's minds and a woman with telekinetic - and so-called magical - powers. ''
''What would you want done with them - if I had them to give up?'' Lyla asked. She was playing for time, not sure what she would do if it came to savings the Legends or saving A.R.G.U.S. She was beginning to regret having tacitly encouraged them to slip away rather than be detained.
''Let's start with Snart. Keep him sedated until we can find a way to shut off his telepathic abilities permanently. Then hand him over to the law authorities, along with Rory and Hervey.''
Leaving aside the matter of how you catch someone with a strong danger sense and the ability to control you psychically, Lyla thought. She had been relieved when Barry's friends had designed that blocking device, more so at the news Barry had let slip that it was now implanted, ready to be switched on.
''Of course, we'll have to catch them first'' she said. ''That may take some time and effort.''
''Not that much'' Watson played her trump card. ''We've got one of them. Possibly the most dangerous one. My people are bringing the prisoner in now.''

Someone was being brought into their cell block. Ralph, Kendra and Carter tried unsuccessfully to see who it was, Nate caught a glimpse of a prone figure strapped to a stretcher - he had an unwelcome feeling he knew who it was. Rip confirmed it.
''Yes, I saw'' he said grimly. ''It's Nora.''
