Greenworld

I've overslept, Sara Lance realised. The morning sun was shining through the bedroom window, straight onto her face.

She reached out with one hand, but Leonard hadn't overslept. His part of the bed was quite cool.

She slipped out from under the covers and slipped into a light robe, tying it abut her waist. She padded through the small rooms their Grenworld home, looking for him.

There was the smell of coffee - actual coffee no less - coming from the kitchen, she she headed that way.

He was standing just inside the open back door, in what would be a shadowy area to anyone looking their way from the beach. And there were several people down there. She moved to stand beside him. His arm slipped around her waist - but he was still looking down onto the sandy expanse.

Dinah Drake was there -of course - and a woman who resembled her - her sister, Elaine Jams. Elaine's husband. Their three children. And two teenagers.

Dinah had wanted her sister's family brought to Greenworld for safety, while things were so unsettled on Earth 1. Joe had been reluctant, even though it was plain that young Barry would come with them. Leonard had, verbally, supported Dinah's view.

Now he was watching Saffron. That was something that Sara could understand. At the same time, she was aware that it was going to have consequences. Her earlier thought - that the girl was a Snart - was being confirmed now that she saw more of her. Sooner or later people were going to put two and two together and make five - if they hadn't done so already. Saffron resembled her father - soon or later someone would say something o her or she would realise it on her own. Neither was the best way for her to find out.

''You should talk to Dinah'' she made herself say. ''About Saffron, I mean. Dinah has to tell her before someone else does or he figures it out on her own.''

They were walking across a far expanse of the beach, out of sight of the settlement. She was angry.

''She's my daughter and I'll decide what's best for her!'' She had already argued that Saffron wasn't old enough to know the truth.

He had repeated what Sara had said - it was the truth after all.

''She's mine too.''

''You haven't been her father.''

''That was your choice.''

''And it was the right one.''

He took a deep breath and backed away from quarreling with her. ''OK, it is your decision. But you know teenagers - sooner or later one of them going to say something to her -or sh'll notice it on her own. Face facts, she does look like me.''

After that he walked away, back towards the settlement, back towards Sara.

She watched him go, facing what she hadn't wanted to face. He'd changed, become someone she could respect - as well as love. But he had changed. He didn't love her any more - he never would.

There were voices coming from the kitchen when he got back home. Sara's and another that he knew. Puzzled, even a bit wary as to why she was there, he walked in through the open door.

Felicity Smoak swung round to look at him, an urgent expression on her face.
