Well, my take on Elena and Caroline's friendship. I read many fanfictions where people hate Elena for what Damon did to Caroline and I do not agree to this, so, this is my piece. Caroline is in a relationship with Klaus for more than a century and as therapist he lets her talk, lets her share how she feels about it.

First thing, Elena forgave Katherine too

Second thing, as someone who has lost her own birth parents I will never forgive someone who tries to recreate the trauma of my parents death just for the same of revenge. Still she forgave Stefan. No wonder she moved on, Stelena turned abusive in season 3, and it was over then and there, I would never be with someone who stoops so low as to use my trauma to get even on his enemy. Stelena was over on the wickery bridge.

Let's not forget, Klaus was the one tormenting he wanted her to sleep with humans and continue her bloodline.

And all this time only Damon stood for her as moral support, as her pillar, so yes she forgave him and fell in love with him when everything in her life was going downwards.

Caroline is the biggest hypocrite she jumped on Klaus' bones the first chance she got. She slept with the man who killed the mother of the one who she claimed to love and told him, "You were not the villain of my story."

If you see Caroline as a victim and fail to see Elena as one. If you choose to overlook the situation she was put in and the circumstances that made Delena happen Then the problem is in the way you see things not in Elena.

When Rayna was chasing Caroline in season 7 she went to NOLA to find Klaus bcz she knew he would protect her and that u understand but when Damon is the only one protecting Elena from the mayhem in her life when Klaus is bent on ruining it you fail to see her pain, her inclination. So yes, Elena forgave Damon, Stefan, Caroline, Katherine and last but not the least Klaus.

You can see Damon as the villain of Caroline's story but you refuse to see Klaus as the villain of Elena's.

If you love Klaroline and hate Delena,

That, my friend, makes you, a hypocrite.

Rape is not the only crime against women, there are other crimes too and to be hurt by the person you love most in the worst way they could hurt you, is what Stefan did. Stefan is responsible for Stelena break up and not Elena, when he kept pushing her telling Damon, "she is ur responsibility now " etc etc.
