For the next two days, I trained for the Tour de Altomare and Nurse Joy kept working on my wounds until they were completely healed. Overall, things were going pretty well. Not much happened during this time, so I won't recount it. But now it was time for the Tour de Altomare!
"Ready Michael?" asked Ash.
"I'm ready as I'll ever be," I replied.
"Hello everyone and welcome to the Tour de Alto mare!" I heard the announcer shout. "Racers, when you hear the Xatu, the race will begin!"
I didn't know what a Xatu was, but I did see three little birds perched on top of a big one and I just assumed that it was the Xatu.
"Ready Politoad?" I asked the frog Pokemon.
"Yep, I'm ready!" he replied.
"Alright then," I said, "let's do our best!"
"Nau," "Nau," "Nau," "Xatu!"
"Let's go!" I heard Ash shout.
As soon as I started the race, however, I heard a familiar voice in my head.
"Michael!? Is that you?"
'Latias?'
"Yeah, it's me! Listen, before you say anything, I'm sorry I didn't come back for you like I said I would. Remember how I told you I wasn't supposed to leave Altomare? Well, my brother didn't believe that I had seen you and thought that I had just made it up so I could leave again. So he trapped me inside the garden and I couldn't come and get you," said Latias apologetically.
'So that's what happened?' I asked.
"Yeah, I'm sorry you got hurt so badly, I spend the last few days hoping you were ok,"
'It's ok, I forgive you,' I said.
"Thanks, Michael, I have to go now. You should probably focus on the race," Latias giggled.
'Oh, yeah I almost forgot about that, bye Latias!'
"Bye! I'll meet you at my home later ok?"
'Sure, but how will I know where to find it?' I asked.
"Don't worry, I'll show you!"
'Ok thanks, bye!'
"Bye!"
I felt the telepathy waves go away and I realized that I was crossing the finish line! I saw Misty, Brock, and Ash waiting for me.
"Hey good job Michael!" said Misty, "You got 5th place!"
"Who won?" I asked.
"I did!" said Misty, proudly showing me her glass medallion with a picture of what looked like a Latios and a Latias?!
"Uh, what's that picture of?" I asked.
"That is a picture of Latios and Latias," said a voice, "they are said to be the guardians of this city,"
I looked around to see a young man with brown hair and a red and white striped shirt.
"Ross?" said Misty.
"Yeah It's me," said Ross, "that was a great race Misty, I was wondering if you would let me take you and your friends on a tour of Altomare?"
"Really, that would be great!" said Misty.
Ross took us on a very nice tour. He showed us all the great shops, good places to eat, and even took us for a ride in his gondola.
"And here's a great place to eat ice cream if you're still hungry," said Ross.
"Wow, thanks so much for the tour Ross!" said Misty.
"Anytime," said Ross, "well I've got to go now so bye, I hope we meet again!"
"Bye!" said Misty.
"Well, that sure was nice," said Brock.
"Come on!" said Ash, "Let's go get some ice cream, I'm starving!"
"But you just ate Ash," I said.
"Well, that's Ash for you," said Misty, "he only thinks about Pokemon and food,"
As we were walking Pikachu suddenly darted off into an alleyway.
"Pikachu!" said Ash, "Where are you going?"
Ash started to chase after Pikachu and I followed him. Pikachu ran to a little water pump that had just been turned off by another trainer.
"Aww," said Pikachu, disappointed.
Just then, the water turned back on, surprising Pikachu. He looked up and saw a girl with a green outfit smiling at him.
"Thanks!" said Pikachu and enjoyed the water.
"There you are Pikachu!" said Ash, "Why did you run off like that,"
As soon as the girl saw me, she looked at me like she was very surprised.
"Michael?"
"Latias? What are you doing here?"
"I just happened to be here. But who's that boy with you?"
"Oh, he's just a friend of mine that I when I got to Altomare,"
"What's his name?"
"Uh, Ash Ketchum I believe,"
"You mean THE Ash Ketchum?"
"What do you mean THE Ash Ketchum?" I asked.
"Oh, you wouldn't know, I'll explain later. Anyways, now I can show you the Secret Garden!"
"Oh yeah, I completely forgot about that. But what about Ash?"
"He can come, he's trustworthy,"
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah, I'm sure,"
"Um, Michael, are you ok?" Ash asked me.
"Oh, yeah, sorry, just got lost in thought," I replied.
"Who's that girl?" asked Ash, "You were looking at her like you knew her,"
"Just say my name is Tia and that I can't talk," Latias told me.
"Uh, her name is Tia, but she's mute so she can't talk," I said.
"Oh," said Ash, "hello, my name is Ash Ketchum, from Pallet Town. I guess your name is Tia?"
Latias nodded in reply, then waved her arm in a 'come along' motion and started slowly running through an alleyway.
"I think she wants us to follow her," I said.
"Ok," said Ash.
We followed Latias through a maze of alleyways and we got to one that was on the side of a canal. I heard a noise coming from behind us and saw two women sitting in a boat. One had blueish hair and the other had blond hair.
"Hey kid," I heard one of them say. We all turned around. "You, the one in the blue vest,"
"Me?" asked Ash.
"Yeah, you. Now, would you be so kind as to hand over those legendary Pokemon?"
"What legendary Pokemon?" asked Ash.
'What!? How did she know?' I thought to myself.
"Don't be silly kid, we know they're right next to you,"
"Where?" asked Ash.
"Come on you idiot, they're in plain sight!"
"Huh? Is this some kind of joke?"
"No it isn't see look right there and there," She pointed to me and Latias. I was getting worried.
"What should we do Latias?" I asked.
"I don't know, I didn't expect this to happen," She replied.
"Where and where?" asked Ash.
"Ugh, we've wasted enough time with you, Ariados, get them!"
"You to Espeon!" I heard the other girl shout.
Espeon and Ariados lunged at me and Latias! We were just about to be hit when Pikachu blasted them away with a thundershock.
"Hey!" said Ash, "Why are you trying to hurt my friends?"
"Oh, we're not trying to hurt them. If you'd just hand them over we won't have to,"
"Why do you want them anyway?" asked Ash.
"We already told you," said the one with the blue hair, "because they're legendary Pokemon,"
"Yeah right," said Ash, "I don't know why you're trying to take them, but nobody hurts my friends! Pikachu, use iron tail!"
"Take this!" said Pikachu, and slashed at Espeon and Ariados with his tail glowing a metallic color. They barely managed to get away and into the boat on time.
"Alright, Pikachu, use your strongest thunderbolt!" yelled Ash.
"Pikachuuuuuu!" said Pikachu as he unleashed a powerful thunderbolt.
Annie and Oakley yelled in shock as their boat was electrified.
"Come on, let's go!" said Ash, grabbing our hands and running. We ran until we were all out of breath.
"Whew," said Ash, "I think we lost them. Are you two ok?"
"Yeah," I said.
Latias nodded.
"It's strange," said Ash, "I wonder why they thought you were legendary Pokemon. Or maybe they were just making that up to trick me,"
"They weren't lying," said Latias.
"Woah, who said that?" asked Ash.
"I did," replied Latias.
"Are you saying that Tia?" asked Ash.
"Yeah, I did,"
"What do you mean they weren't lying?" asked Ash, confused.
"I'll tell you when we get to my home, follow me!"
"Uh, ok," said Ash.
We followed Latias to an alleyway with an archway and a fountain.
"Ok, follow me," she said.
I watched and was shocked when she walked right through a wall! Pikachu soon ran after her. Ash and I exchanged a glance and walked through the wall as well.
"Wow," I said as I walked into the garden. There were tons of Pokemon living here, and a small pond lie in the center of the garden.
"Now," said Latias, "this is why those women said we were legendary Pokemon. Ready Michael?"
"Are you sure?" I asked her.
"Yes, I'm sure," she replied.
"Ok then," A shower of green light engulfed both of us as we turned into our Latiforms.
Ash fell over in shock. "Are you guys the legendary guardians of Altomare?!" He asked.
"Well, Latias is," I said, "I'm just visiting,"
"Yeah," said Latias, "my brother and I guard the city together. That reminds me, I have to go get my brother!"
"No need sis," I heard a voice answer, "I'm already here. It's nice to meet you, Michael,"
"Uh, good to meet you too," I said, unsure of what to say.
"Who's this boy you brought here Latias?" asked Latios.
"Guess what?" said Latias, "He's THE Ash Ketchum!"
"Are you really Ash Ketchum?" Latios asked Ash.
"Uh, yeah?" replied Ash, "How did you know about me?"
"Well, you are the Chosen One," said Latios, "nearly every Pokemon knows about you,"
"Really?" asked Ash, "I thought that was just for the one prophecy with Lugia,"
"It wasn't just for that," said Latios, "you are the Chosen One of Arceus, which means that It's an honor to meet you,"
Ash looked even more stunned than when Latias and I had revealed ourselves to him and Pikachu even fell off his shoulder. "Ok, give me a sec, I just have to process all this information," said Ash.
"Anyways," said Latios, "it's good to see you're ok Michael. I'm sorry for what happened to you. I'm afraid it's partially my fault. I didn't believe my sister when she said that she found you so I kept her from leaving the garden,"
"That's ok," I said.
We talked for a while until sunset. (sorry I got a bit lazy)
"Well," said Ash, "I have to leave now. I think Misty and Brock are very worried about and Misty will probably smash me with her mallet. Do you want to come with me or stay here Michael?"
"Is it ok if I stay here?" I asked Latios, not wanting an encounter with an angry hammer-wielding Misty.
"That's fine," said Latios, "you can just pick a tree to sleep in,"
"Well, looks like I'm staying here for the night," I said to Ash.
"Ok, well goodbye! See you later!" replied Ash.
Ash walked out of the garden with Pikachu and I went to find a comfortable tree to sleep in. Little did I know how soon I would see Ash.
I woke up from my sleep to a strange buzzing noise. I noticed that Latios and Latias were awake as well, so I flew up to them.
"Is something wrong?" I asked Latios.
"I'll go check," he replied, and flew off.
A few seconds later I heard him call, "Michael! Latias! We have intruders!"
I gasped and flew in the direction of his voice. I saw those women from earlier, they had just taken the soul dew out of its well and their pokemon looked like they were charging up attacks.
"What do we do?" I asked.
"Turn invisible!" I heard Latios yell.
I activated my invisibility and Latios and Latias did the same.
"Try to hit them!" said Latios.
I didn't know how to use any of my moves, so I just shot off and rammed one of the women. I saw them put on some glasses, but I didn't know why. Then I heard Latios scream, he was trapped in a net that was shocking him! I saw one flying towards Latias, but Latios got in the way so it hit him instead.
"Latios!" I yelled.
"Michael! Latias! Dive into the pool in the garden!" said Latios.
"But Latios-"
"Now! Go!"
I didn't want to leave Latios, but eventually, I dove into the pool and swam away. I came up in a random alleyway with Latias right behind me.
