Chapter 11

We arrived at Lorenzo's house about 5 minutes later. (It wouldn't have taken as long if Ash didn't crash into a bunch of trees.) Misty, Brock, and the others hadn't arrived yet, so Latias unlocked the door with a small psychic pulse.

"When can you teach me that?" I asked Latias.

"I'll teach it to you eventually, don't worry," said Latias, grinning slightly.

"I still need to learn how not to crash into things," said Ash, rubbing his forehead where he had accidentally rammed a tree.

"You're doing pretty well," said Latios, "you didn't crash into anything on the second half of the way here."

The door opened and Misty, Brock, Lorenzo, and Bianca walked in.

"Hi," said Bianca, "I see you guys already made it here."

"Well," said Latias, "flying is much faster than walking."

"You do have a point," said Brock, "anyway, who's ready for some dinner?"

"I'm starving," said Ash, "I can't believe I haven't eaten for a whole day."

"Actually, Ash, it's been about a week," said Brock.

"I haven't eaten for a whole week?!" asked Ash, horrified.

"Uh, Ash, you have to use telepathy, remember?" said Brock. I just laughed to myself at Ash's antics.

"Right," said Ash.

After a few minutes of everyone coming and getting their food, and another five minutes of Latios helping Ash through the halls to the dining room, everyone finally began to eat, while Ash chowed down like there was no tomorrow.

"Is Ash always like this?" Latias asked Pikachu.

"Like what?" Ash asked. "Hey, that's cool, now I can talk while I'm eating!" We all sweatdropped.

"Never mind," she said, sighing.

"Should he be eating that much Latios?" asked Lorenzo.

"I don't know," said Latios, "I don't usually eat that much food, but this is Ash…"

"Don't worry," said Brock, "I've seen him eat more than that on several occasions,"

"What?" asked Ash, "Saving a life takes a lot of energy."

'He's eaten more than this?' I thought. 'Now I don't feel so bad about overeating."

After a large dinner, (there was still plenty even though Ash ate most of it) we decided to go to the garden so we could have a discussion to try to answer a few of the questions that Brock, Misty, Lorenzo, and Bianca had. However, the meeting was short since neither Latios nor Latias seemed to know much more than I did. Ash, of course, was even more clueless as to what happened. I didn't blame him, since I don't usually remember anything after I've fainted.

"I'm very sorry," said Latios, "but we don't know any more than what I've already told you."

"*sigh* Well, we'd better turn in." said Lorenzo, "I think we can all agree that it's been a long day."

Everyone nodded, although I didn't feel very tired, considering I had just woken up from a week-long nap.

"Are you coming Ash?" asked Brock.

"No, I think I'll stay here for the night." replied Ash, "do you mind Latios?"

"It's perfectly fine Ash," replied Latios, "you helped save my life after all,"

"Ok then, I guess I'm staying here," said Ash.

"Alright, see you in the morning," said Brock.

"See you!" said Misty, "Don't sleep in too late!"

"Don't worry," said Latias, "If he sleeps in, I'll wake him up." Latios chuckled.

"What's so funny?" I asked him.

He leaned in close so that only I could hear. "Let's just say that you don't want Latias to wake you up. Like, EVER,"

I looked at him. "Really?"

"Yes, really. If you don't believe me I could ask her to wake you up…"

"Uh, no thanks," I said.

"Do you guys want to do something?" asked Ash. "I'm not really that tired."

"Sure," I said, not being very tired either.

"How about a game of tag?" asked Latias. "Tag! Michael, you're it!"

"Hey! No fair!" I said and raced after her. We all played until Ash shouted something.

"What is it- oh wow…" I looked up and gasped. From the sky, there came a brilliant light. Brighter than anything I had seen before. I saw a figure slowly descending from it. It looked like a- honestly, I didn't know what it looked like. 'Maybe another Pokemon?' I thought to myself.

"Greetings, Eons," I heard it say.

"A-Arceus" stammered Latios and Latios. 'Who's Arceus?' I wondered.

"Well, Chosen One, we finally meet," said the now-named Arceus.

"Are you talking to me?" asked Ash.

"Yes," replied Arceus, "I see that all has been fulfilled here. Usually, I would let another Legendary tell you what to do but this is very important so I decided to tell you myself. Lady Ho-oh was right when she said that you were special. You have gained the body of a Latios, and are the only human one to become one. In ancient times, I gave word to the very first eons that in thousands of years to come, a special human would gain the body of an eon, one that would have the powers of both Latias, and Latios. This is my chosen one, and, also you."

Ash gasped. I could see the pure shock in his eyes. "But I-"

"No 'buts'," said Arceus, "all of these years I have watched you save many legendaries over and over. You constantly put yourself on the line for others, you calmed Mewtwo, stopped Moltres', Zapdos', and Articunos' battle, saved Celebi, and now saved Latios' life. I could not think of anyone more worthy of being called my chosen one."

"Th-thank you," said Ash. "and no offense, but, who are you?"

Latios and Latias facepalmed. Arceus just chuckled. "That's right, you haven't met me yet. I am Arceus, I am the highest of all legendaries and also their creator."

I marveled at that statement. 'This 'Arceus' must be very powerful.' I thought to myself.

"You mean," said Ash, "you're the strongest of all the legendary Pokemon, and you picked me to be your chosen one,"

"As I said," said Arceus, "out of all the humans that have ever roamed this planet, you are the most pure-hearted and kind of them all. However, it is time for me to give you your greatest, and possibly hardest mission yet. This time though, it will not be only you." He turned to us. "This mission is for you, Latios, Latias, and Michael." My stomach gave a sudden lurch. I was going on this 'mission' too? "Now, what you will need to do is this: A new evil team, Team Galactic, has come into power. They have developed these Pokeballs that they call 'void balls'. These balls turn whatever pokemon they capture into pure evil. Now only that, but they also make the Pokemon immensely powerful. Thankfully, they do not work on Pokemon that have already been caught. However, they have a 100% catch rate on all wild Pokemon, including Legendaries. You MUST stop them. They are very powerful, but I have some gifts for all of you so that you can succeed."

Arceus waved his 'arm?' and several objects appeared. "This is for you, Ash, it is called a Z-ring. With it, you can use Z-moves. A Z-move is a very powerful move that you can use once during a battle. It contains a special move for Latios, Latias, and one for your Pikachu. For all of you, I created special Pokeballs that boost a Pokemon's stats significantly when caught by one. Ash, I want you to catch Latios, Latias, and yourself. Michael," I turned. "Since you are used to living as a human, I assume that you want to catch yourself. Now then, go ahead Ash." Arceus handed Ash some strange-looking spheres.

"Are- are you sure Arceus?" asked Ash.

"Yes, Chosen One, now fulfill your destiny."

"Well," said Ash, "Latios, Latias, would you like to come with me?"

"Yes," said Latios, "you saved my life, and for that, I owe it to you."

"Yeah," said Latias, "you were super nice to me, saving me and Michael from those crooks and helping us get through the crisis."

I could see Ash had tears in his eyes. "W-well then," he stammered, "g-go p-pokeball,"
