Izuku yawned as he walked into Class 1A, happily looking over his new green sleeping bag while Jirou followed him from behind, shaking her head in amusement.
"You're a child." she said as he wrapped himself up into the reinforced material as he laid down beside the desks.
"I can't hear you over how comfortable I am." he sighed, "I feel warm…"
Jirou sat down beside him, watching as the boy almost immediately fell asleep.
"Hey earlobes!" Bakugo barked, walking in, "where's Deku?"
"Asleep." she said, motioning to the snoring sleeping bag.
"He really got one?" he asked incredulously.
"He doesn't joke when it comes to sleep." Jirou said dryly.
"So he's like a real vampire huh?" Ojiro asked as he walked in, carefully stepping around Izuku.
"For the most part," Jirou confirmed, "really he's just like a tired old dog that sometimes bites when he's hungry."
"He hasn't' actually bitten anyone...right?" Kaminari asked worriedly, shaking in fear when Bakugo raised his arm to show off a scar.
'Pushed him past his blood limit and refused to give him any blood, he ended up lunging at me." Bakugo said conversationally, "my fault."
"How can you say that so nonchalantly?" Kaminari asked in worry.
"Because he's not trying to bite anyone." Jirou said pointedly, "He just...loses himself sometimes."
"Guys like that always end up with a harem." Mineta muttered, flinching away from Jirou when her earphones rose up threateningly.
"He said it's too tiring to have a harem." Temari laughed as she walked in, "besides, he's gotta come to an understanding with his Countess before he can have a harem."
"Watch it Sendo." Jirou growled while Tokoyami nodded his head in understanding, "keeper of the dark." he stated, unflinching as Jirou turned her glare to him.
"You're the reason he's started talking like that." She accused.
"The darkness cannot be contained."
"EVERYONE! TO YOUR DESKS!" Iida shouted, running into the room.
"Uh...dude, other than you and Midoriya, we're all in our seats." Sato said as Sero and Mina laughed.
"Curses!" Iida grumbled as he settled into his desk and Izuku slowly slunk into his, still bunched up in his sleeping bag, a wave of content flowing off of him.
Classes were fairly normal compared to their middle school experience, with the added wow factor of having pro heroes as their teachers. Lunch was amazing, as the pro hero lunch rush was the chef; and created amazing dishes for the students, including a rare steak marinated in deer blood for Izuku. Who received\ a few horrified stares as he allowed the blood to trail down his chin.
"This place is awesome." he mumbled around his steak, Uraraka looking fairly green as she watched him wipe the blood off his chin.
"And...all of you are used to this?" she asked curiously, looking at a disinterested Jirou and Temari, only Bakugo looked green, but still much better then how Uraraka looked.
"You get used to it after the first month." Temari said with a shrug.
"Some of us get used to it after the first month." Jirou added as Bakugo growled.
"Blood isn't something' I like seeing.' he grumbled. "It's supposed to be in your body damn it!"
"He passed out the first time one of my blood pods burst in my pocket." Izuku drew, making Bakugo begin to shout angrily at Izuku.
"So Midoriya," Kaminari began as he sat down at their table, "I'm curious, you said you've drained a lot of animals right?"
"Right," he confirmed.
"So uh...which one's blood did you like the most."
"Dude." Temari said, shaking her head while Jirou and Bakugo glared at him.
"I personally like the taste of bear.' Izuku said, not even looking at his friends as they stared at him in surprise, "it's sweeter than dog blood, but saltier than bird blood...Bakugo's blood was spicy so I'm wondering if people's quirks have a difference in the taste of blood…"
"Would mine be sour?" Kaminari wondered, "like...because of the electricity."
"Maybe it's got a bit of a kick to it." Izuku supplied.
"hmm...what does Jirou's blood taste like?"
"Who says he's drunk my blood!?" Jirou demanded to know angrily while Izuku said, "definitely sweet, bit of a bite to it at the end."
Jirou blushed furiously while Temari laughed, "you forgot he drank your blood when you broke him out of that gang stronghold didn't you?"
"I remember watching that!" Kaminari exclaimed with a grin, "You were seriously bad ass bro."
"It wasn't that impressive," Izuku said in embarrassment while Kaminari continued to gush as the bell rang.
They all filed out of the cafeteria and back towards their classroom, Izuku walking alongside Jirou, who was still a deep red, "what's wrong?" Izuku asked her quietly as they walked.
"N-nothing." she mumbled.
"I can tell when you're lying." he reminded her.
She sighed, "I just...don't you think it's weird that Kaminari asked you what blood tastes like?"
"I assumed it was his attempt at finding a topic to talk to me about." Izuku said, "Though I did lie to him, Bear blood isn't my favorite.'
"Then what is…" She trailed off as she seemed to figure it out before he whispered into her ears.
"The Blood of my Countess will always be my favorite."
She blushed the entire way back to the classroom, refusing to look at Izuku as the vampire leaned back smugly in his chair.
"I AM COMING THROUGH THE DOOR LIKE A HERO!"
Izuku winced at the loud proclamation, "forgot All-Might would be here…' he muttered as the class cheered for the number one hero, Izuku kept his head low until they were dismissed to change into their costumes.
"I still don't think this design is me." Izuku said as he and Jirou grabbed their suitcases.
"Maybe not, but it'll definitely have a fear factor that you wouldn't be able to pull off any other way."
Everyone watched in surprise as Izuku was suddenly pouting in the corner, a dark cloud over him, "I can be intimidating…" he mumbled quietly.
Jirou rolled her eyes, "Sure you can, now hurry up, you gotta change."
WVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVW
All-Might grinned as he watched the class walk out, 'YOU ALL LOOK SO COOL!" he exclaimed, noting his protege's costume.
She was dressed in a black tank top and camouflage pants tucked into combat boots, a domino mask much like Bakugo's covered her eyes, and a black leather jacket was slung over her shoulders. "Shirts a bit tight," she muttered as she settled against the wall beside Bakugo.
"It's fine." he growled, looking up as Izuku walked out.
The boy was dressed in a pair of jeans and red combat boots, a loose muscle shirt was on underneath a sleeveless robe-like sweater, the hem of the unzipped sweater brushing his ankles. The hood was up, making his hair spill out from under it. His mask had been replaced by another black one, a pair of valves sitting on either side of his mouth, as he came to a stop beside Bakugo, the valves opened and expelled cold vapor that lingered around the vampire, "you look dangerous." Bakugo said with a feral grin.
"I'm happy I was able to stay in that sleeping bag for most of the day," he sighed, "I'm warmer than I was yesterday."
The friends quieted down as All-might explained the scenario and divided them up in teams, Temari was paired with Uraraka and Izuku was paired with Ojiro; who looked decidedly uncomfortable beside the dark clad boy.
"Don't worry," Izuku drawled as they walked into the viewing room, "I don't bite."
"Are...you sure about that?" he asked with a chuckle, making Izuku laugh.
"No, not at all." he mused, settling against the wall beside Ojiro as they watched the teams prepare, 'This will be nothing but carnage, Bakugo loves a fight, and Sendo know's how to get under his skin, if the building is still standing at the end of it I'll be surprised."
"They really are powerhouses aren't they?" Ojiro questioned, looking at Izuku and sweat dropping when he saw the boy in his sleeping bag snoring quietly.
"You'll get used to it." Jirou said, nudging Ojiro.
"I guess he's taking advantage huh?"
"Yeah, he's usually allowed to sleep during classes, but it was never comfortable, so this is probably heaven for him."
A loud explosion shook the building, making everyone-save for midoriya- look to the video feed where Bakugo and Temari had erupted out of the building in a show of power that left everyone staring in awe. Inside the building, Tenya and Uraraka were likewise staring in shock.
'YOUNG BAKUGO! YOUNG TEMARI! ENOUGH! IF YOU CONTINUE AS YOU ARE I WILL DISQUALIFY YOU BOTH! " All-Might ordered as Temari yelled something the rest of the class couldn't hear as she grabbed Bakugo's arm and slung him towards the street before diving towards the bomb at breakneck speeds.
At the last second her course changed and she took Iida out as she shouted, "Uraraka! Now!"
A few seconds laterAll-Night was calling the victory of the heroes and all four came walking in, Bakugo covered in rubble and dirt.
"I think it's safe to say that of the four of you, only Uraraka and Iida will be passing." All-might said sternly, "you two completely ignored the exercise until I threatened to disqualify you, and were instead using this as an opportunity to fight! You two need to learn to prioritize the mission over petty squabbles! Now, let's move on to the next fight! Team B vs Team I! Team I will be the villains! You boys have fifteen minutes to get ready!"
Ojiro nudged Izuku with his foot and he immediately jumped up, "is the building still standing?" he mumbled blearily.
"We're on." Ojiro said with a chuckle.
"Oh, heroes or villains?" He asked as they began walking out, folding up his sleeping bag into a perfect square that fit into his back pocket comfortably.
"Villains."
"Hmm...I'll have my dogs patrol the halls." he said, "with how dark it is, they should be a little more menacing."
"What do you mean?"
"Watch." Izuku said as they entered a new building, as he stepped into the shadow of the building, several dogs slinked out of the shadows, their eyes noticeably darker and some had two heads, the air around them shifted as a smoke like substance rolled off their bodies.
"Protect." Izuku said simply, waving them off as he turned back to ojiro, the valves on his mask once again dispelling the cold vapor, "we'll be guarding the bomb."
"R-right." he chuckled nervously, 'after you."
WVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVW
"So, you're a martial artist?" Izuku asked Ojiro as they looked at the large fake bomb. "What's that like?"
"Physically taxing, but rewarding." Ojiro said, "Do you know any techniques?"
"Not really, I don't really need fancy moves when I have my summons, I'm also no slouch when it comes to strength."
"Yeah, I saw that yesterday, is this not taxing you?"
"It is, but i've been working on keeping my blood consumption to a minimum. I should be fine unless I have to re-summon them, then I have my extra blood pods." he turned to the door, his goggles hiding his emotions from Ojiro as he stepped forward. 'You ready?"
"Yeah,' Ojiro said, getting into a defensive stance as All-Might started the exercise, "How do you think they'll come in?" Ojiro asked, "Can they beat your dogs?"
"Probably," Izuku said, "They're not very strong, but they're fast, Shoji shouldn't have a problem with them, then there's Todoroki, who's a powerhouse on par with-Ojiro jump onto my shoulders, Now!"
Ojiro instantly jumped for Izuku's shoulders, noting the urgency in the boy's voice, his eyes widened as the room they were in suddenly froze over, rooting Izuku to the floor.
"Damn it," Izuku growled as he looked at his feet, completely encased in ice, "My summons are likewise incapacitated."
"Looks like Todoroki decided freezing us was easier than fighting." ojiro muttered as he jumped off Izuku's shoulders, slipping a bit.
"He's an idiot," Izuku said dryly as he brought his mask down popping three blood pods into his mouth; his eyes glowing red behind his goggles as he replaced the mask, "it's apparent that my senses are heightened, so I knew when he was dropping the temperature, not only that but I can simply summon more of my familiars." As he said this the shadows warped and more dogs came slinking out, Baskerville among them, with a quick flash, his claws broke through the ice keeping his feet stuck, "Stay here Ojiro, I'll go greet our guests."
"Are you sure that's a good call Midoriya? Maybe we should fight them together."
"No, with this opening attack, Todoroki probably didn't try and unfreeze a path for Shoji, he's alone, and i'm more than enough for him."
"If you're sure…" he trailed off as Izuku looked back to him, the blank mask and glowing goggles unnerving.
"Today I was blissfully warm for the first time in months," he drawled, his voice gaining an edge as he turned to the door, walking towards it, "and in one instance Todoroki took that away from me. I'm sure I can handle him."
WVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVW
Todoroki shivered slightly as he walked through the ice covered halls, the usual cold was seeping into his right side, but it didn't help that he kept passing Midoriya's summons, the dogs frozen in place, two of them had lunged for him when he first walked in, tearing their paws off to try to get even a small bite off of him.
He had responded by freezing them completely, and was slightly shaken when they faded like smoke.
"Todoroki."
The pure malice in Midoriya's voice had Todoroki shivering once more as he looked ahead, squinting to see the glowing red eyes of the vampire boy, surrounded by churning darkness as he walked towards the half-and-half prodigy.
"It's over." Todoroki said pointedly, "you got lucky in evading my ice, but I'm sure Ojiro is still immobilized."
"Your ice didn't freeze either of us." Izuku said coldly, now steam was coming out of his valves, adding to his dangerous aura as he squatted down, "all it did was take away the warmth from my sleep, that makes me mad."
As he said this, more red eyes began to glow from behind him, Todoroki took a small step back.
"Baskerville." Izuku growled, making the large mastiff materialize beside him, "Fetch."
WVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVW
"Midoriya's really amping up the fear factor isn't he?" Mina said with a shiver, 'That entrance was horror movie worthy.'
"He'll take that as a compliment.' Temari sighed, "usually the guy's as dangerous as a sleepy kitten, but right now...he's irritated."
"Why would he be irritated? He's countering TOdoroki pretty easily right now." Sato wondered.
"Izuku's body runs cold," Jirou explained, "usually he can't wear clothes that will help keep him warm, so that sleeping bag was a god send-"
"-and then Icy-Hot turned the Heater off." Bakugo said gruffly, grinning ferally as he watched Todoroki dodge Izuku's pack, "he didn't do anything but piss him off."
WVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVW
Izuku dodged Todoroki's attack, clinging to the wall easily as his dogs swarmed the boy.
"Are you really so flippant in sending your summons to be frozen?" Todoroki demanded to know as he threw Baskerville down the hall, freezing two huskies in place, "this could harm them."
"My summons are made of shadows," Izuku said dismissively as the two huskies tore tier limbs away from their paws, using the movement to lung at Todoroki, who narrowly avoided them as they faded from existence, "when they sustain enough damage they return to me." he jumped down, running a hand over Baskervilles head, "they don't appreciate the cold, neither do i for that matter, where's your fire Todoroki?"
Todoroki glared at him as he slammed a foot down, sending spikes right at Izuku, who easily dodged them, his mask and goggles tearing apart as one got too close, "I really liked those." Izuku grumbled as he tore off the remains and dropped them, his red eyes narrowing on Todoroki, "think you're too good to use both sides Todoroki?"
"Enough." Todoroki ordered. Sending another spike attack, this time his eyes widened as they pierced Izuku's body, "oh no…" he whispered shakily as he began to raise his left to melt the ice.
"Pathetic."
Todoroki gasped and took another step back as Midoriya pulled himself off the spikes, the injuries healing over as he pulled another three blood pods out. "Aren't you taking this too far?" Todoroki asked, feeling sick as he watched the muscles and skin knit back together. "This is just an exercise."
"You're scared of your fire." he sneered as he bit into the blood pods, ignoring his question as he let the excess run down his chin, licking it clean with a longer then usual tongue as his sclera spiderwebbed, "too scared to use your full power, I have no such qualms."
Todoroki threw his hand up, sending an icy wall straight for the boy as he seemed to blur, he stiffened when he felt a dark aura behind him.
"You shouldn't be scared of your quirk." Izuku whispered into his ear. Laughing as Todoroki jumped away from him, sending yet another wave of Ice at him. "You should be scared of me!"
"You're a monster!" Todoroki shouted, shivering as another ice blast shot from his foot.
Izuku easily raked his claws through the ice. "And you're dead." he said.
Todoroki's eyes widened as he felt the capture tape wrap around his arm, he looked to his side and saw Baskerville and another dog holding either end of it tight, "How…" he whispered as All-Might shouted, "TODOROKI HAS BEEN CAPTURED! FIVE MINUTES LEFT!"
"They're smarter than you give them credit for." Izuku said, walking past Todoroki as his constructs disappeared. "You played the game wrong Todoroki, you'll get someone killed some day fighting like that."
Todoroki slowly turned to watch the retreating Vampire, his entire frame shaking.
"And they call me a monster."
WVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVW
"It's no good."
"Are you sure? Maybe mom can-"
"-it won't work Izuku, I'm sorry." Jirou sighed as she put a hand on her boyfriend's shoulder as he let his head fall, both were looking down at his sleeping bag, several holes torn through it, "Todoroki's attack tore it apart, it's totaled."
"It was so young." Izuku sniffled, wiping a nonexistent tear away as Kaminari and Kirishima saluted the destroyed sleeping bag.
"It gave it's life for you dude," Kaminari sighed.
"It will be missed." Kirishima wiped away a manly tear.
Izuku stood, cradling the sleeping bag, "this insult will not be forgotten." he said, "I will get revenge!"
"Didn't you beat Todoroki already?" Tsuyu asked curiously as Shoji and Todoroki walked in, the apparent losers for the exercise, with Todoroki incapacitated, Shoji was unable to walk on the ice without slipping, and Todoroki couldn't melt it. So all Ojiro and Izuku had to do was wait the remaining five minutes.
It was in those five minutes that Izuku realized what had happened to his sleeping bag.
"It's the principle of the thing Tsu.' he sighed, looking over to Mina and Momo, who were gaping at him, 'what?"
"You were speared by icicles, and yet you're only worried about a sleeping bag?" Momo asked, looking appalled at the apparent lack of self preservation.
"Yeah! And you're like, seriously cute! Why do you wear that mask and goggles!?" Mina demanded to know.
Izuku blushed a bit as he looked away,"my healing factor is almost instantaneous, so I wasn't too concerned…" he trailed off as he ran a hand through his hair, "the mask is to help with my sensitivity to smell, sometimes it can get overwhelming, so the mask helps keep me kosher, as well as provides an extra layer of protection in case i try to bite someone; the goggles help because my eyes are sensitive to light. It was honestly irritating walking back here." he glared at the window as he said this, "it's too bright."
"So cute!" Uraraka and Mina gushed, as Izuku began to pout.
"I'm not cute!" he protested.
"Yes you are." Jirou sighed, making him hang his head in the corner as Sero and Temari sweat dropped.
"He put the literal fear of god into one of the strongest guys in our class, and now he's pouting like a child." Sero sighed.
"That's Midoriya for you." Temari muttered.
"ALRIGHT STUDENTS!" All-Might called, "LET'S HAVE OUR AFTER ACTION REPORT! FIRST OFF! THE MVP IS APPARENT HERE! YOUNG MIDORIYA! CAN ANYONE TELL ME WHY!"
"I can sir." Momo said, stepping forward, "Midoriya never stopped planning this entire time, and actively countered all of Todoroki's attacks; not only that, but Midoriya also took on the roll of the villain. While Todoroki was a close second, Midoriya never once let it slip and used shock and fear to make Todoroki falter.'
"CORRECT! TODOROKI ALSO PLAYED A DANGEROUS GAME IN NOT WORKING WITH HIS PARTNER! WHEN HE WAS CAPTURED HIS OPENING ATTACK ENDED UP WORKING AGAINST THE REMAINING HERO!"
Izuku settled against the wall, watching Todoroki as the boy leveled a glare at him, Izuku gave him a cheshire smile, allowing his fangs to elongate as his eyes flashed.
Todoroki flinched away from him, averting eyes as Izuku returned to normal as Jirou slapped him in the back of the head.
"Ow!" he whined, looking up at her with a pout, "He started it."
"I'm ending it." she said sternly as Bakugo snickered.
"Not gonna be friends with him Loser?" he asked his old friend.
"Probably not, he rubs me the wrong way." he sighed tiredly, "I was really looking forward to that nap too."
"You can take a nap after school." Jirou reassured him, running a hand through his long hair.
"Will you be with me when I sleep, my Countess?"
Jirou blushed but nodded, "of course...my Count."
"You two are disgusting." Bakugo grunted, cringing as Temari drove an elbow into his head.
"Leave them alone asshole, they're adorable." Temari griped at him.
