Chapter 4: Agroprom
Pyrrha groans as she wakes up with her vision spinning. Feeling nauseous and weak, she looks around and finds herself on a bed in a room made of wood and bits of corrugated metal sheets.
"Ugh…" Pyrrha groans as she places a hand on her head. She then tries to get off the bed but has to lean against the wall when her knees buckled and ached, "Sergei?" She calls out weakly as she slowly walks to the doorless entrance only to be surprised when she bumps her head on Sergei's chest. The stalker has his mask off and is holding a bottle and pills on either hand.
"Oh, you're up?" Sergei sighs in relief and helps her walk back to the bed she was on earlier and where she then sits. "Well, looks like you took in too much radiation from the anomalies earlier." He says with a somewhat guilty look on his face, "So how are you feeling?" He asks as he places down on a stool and sits in front of Pyrrha.
"I feel rather lightheaded, but I'll be alright." Pyrrha weakly replies before glancing at the items that Sergei has in hand "What do you have with you?"
Sergei then opens the bottle and hands it to Pyrrha along with a pill, "Here, it should help you out a bit." He says as Pyrrha gingerly takes the items.
Pyrrha pops the pill in her mouth and takes a gulp of the bottle's contents before gagging and coughing, "I-is this alcohol!?" She yells at Sergei before coughing again.
Sergei shrugs "Well vodka apparently helps with radiation, and you did take in a lot of rads, so, hey why not toss in some vodka with anti-rad pills?" He chuckles before taking the bottle from her hands.
Pyrrha gives Sergei a hard look "I'm still not at the age to drink you know."
Sergei's eyes widen as he freezes in realization.
"Pizdec…" he sighs heavily "Better drunk than getting radiation poisoning?"
An awkward silence passes, and Pyrrha thought how to break the ice before her an idea struck her "So how old are you?" she asks, wanting to know her stalker companion even just a little – knowing she'll be sticking with Sergei for who knows how long.
"…19, you?" Sergei replies after a moment of hesitation.
"17… and in normal circumstances things would have not gone well for you." Pyrrha chuckles before she hiccups "Ugh, I think the alcohol is getting to me." She grumbles and lays back down on the bed before asking "So how long have you been here…in the Zone?"
"Three years, though occasionally getting out of the Zone for medical reasons." Sergei replies before then noticing that Pyrrha's face has turned red "And your face is telling me you're not taking the drink in too well." He grins, changing the topic away to something less personal, as good stalkers ought to do.
"And who's fault is that?" Pyrrha retorts as she pulls up her jacket collar to cover half her face in embarrassment.
"Hey, I did not know!" Sergei complains, eliciting a chuckle from Pyrrha.
"Apology accepted." Pyrrha replies before sighing "You did save me… again…"
Sergei shakes his head "Well, we're now even - you did save my ass too you know." He replies with a grin.
"Mhm… just tell me next time if you're giving me any alcohol or if I'm about to faint from excessive radiation." Then puts a hand over her mouth to cover a yawn "I'm feeling drowsy."
Sergei nods, "Alright, we have a long and dangerous day tomorrow… as usual." He chuckles before standing up, also yawning afterwards.
Pyrrha gives him a small smile "Understood. Well… goodnight then." She says and then closes her eyes.
Sergei sighs "Good night…" and then walks over to an already rolled out sleeping mat on the floor. He gets down and situates himself, his PDA beeps soon after to alert him of an incoming emission moments before signal was lost.
Sergei wakes up at the feeling of someone shaking him awake, "Sergei, Sergei! Hey, wake up!" a girl's voice calls out to him, and he groggily opens his eyes then blinking the sleepiness out. To have his amber ones meet Pyrrha's green.
"Ugh… what time is it?" He groans before getting up, yawning, and then stretching his limbs.
Pyrrha grumbles "Around eight am, and my head hurts all thanks to you." She then moves away to put on her backpack.
Sergei groans "Ugh, don't remind me, I had no idea!" He sighs before also standing up to collect his things.
Pyrrha nods "It's fine. Better drunk than radiation poisoned, as you said. And besides, I do feel a lot better than last night thanks to your treatment." She quotes his words last night as she slings her submachinegun on her shoulder while giving Sergei a smile.
Sergei replies with a smile of his own "Yeah, better than being irradiated." He chuckles as he reloads his shotgun "Let's go, we got no more time to waste." He says and walks out of the exit.
"Agreed." Pyrrha replies and then follows Sergei, all the while mentally preparing herself for what's to come.
They exit through the rear gate, and as usual Sergei peeks behind the gate to make sure it was clear. He then motions for Pyrrha to follow as he slides out of the gate with his shotgun out.
Now outside, they continue to walk to the path heading towards Agroprom. Pyrrha looks around and sees an abandoned train on the rails leading towards the train depot, inciting her curiosity as to what happened to the place. She makes a mental note to ask Sergei when they have the time.
They pass through piles of debris, seemingly stacked by stalkers to provide some cover in a firefight, they then hear the faint sound of warping with the air seemingly to vibrate and contort not far from the side of the road. Sergei calmly ignores it, but Pyrrha anxiously takes out a metal bolt and twirls it between her fingers.
After minutes of walking, they arrive at another gate, which is already open. The two tenses up when they hear intense gunfire erupt from the abandoned chemical plant not too far from where they are.
They continue to walk towards chemical plant, and soon enough, they come across bodies of bandits strewn out across the ground as they come closer to the chemical plant. Sergei quickly sifts through the bodies for anything useful while Pyrrha stands watch behind him just in case anything hostile tries to sneak up on them…
Sergei finishes looting the bodies and brings up his shotgun, "Okay, let's go. One of the entrances to the underground sections of this place isn't far." He says as he motions for Pyrrha to follow.
"Anything that I should be aware of at said place?" Pyrrha asks while swerving her head left and right as they jog towards four large tanks close to the ground. There, she notices a manhole cover at the center of a small white concrete platform at the center of said tanks.
"Well, a lot of acid anomalies, some electric ones, bandits, military, and mutants…mainly bloodsuckers and psychic ones unfortunately." Sergei sighs as he looks down at the shotgun he has in hand and makes a mental note to get a new one.
"Oh…" Pyrrha replies, "I hope we won't encounter them." She says optimistically, making Sergei chuckle.
"Aaand, you just cursed our luck today!" The Stalker jokes before bullets hit the ground near them along with some distant yelling, "Shit! Military!" he curses and then gets them both to run to the manhole and opens it – Pyrrha being a great help with her semblance - he then motions to Pyrrha to enter, which she does with no hesitation, and Sergei follows after her just as more bullets start raining all around the area where they are.
Climbing down the dark tunnel, with rusty and broken pipes running through the walls and chunks of concrete littering on the floor, Sergei whispers: "Well…bad luck…" he sighs before handing Pyrrha a flashlight. Pyrrha moves to turn it on, but Sergei then glances back and says: "Not yet, let me check something first."
He creeps up at the doorway at the end of the tunnel and then motions to Pyrrha to come to him as he prepares to enter, his shotgun up and ready in his hands. Quickly making his entry, the first thing he sees are multiple bandit corpses, he immediately makes sure that the area was clear before looting the bodies. He knows something is off…evident from how the bandits died - their bodies seemingly crushed with extreme force.
The next room was like the tunnel they were in earlier, dirty, and almost everything was corroded from neglect while green lights shine somewhere in the corner. As Pyrrha looks around, she sees more corpses. She winces at the sight, but disturbingly enough she thinks that's she's starting to feel less horrified than she should be.
Sergei stands up "Something's not right…" he says as he hands her a box of submachine gun ammo while he pockets more shotgun shells and money.
"What's wrong?" Pyrrha asks, to which Sergei points the bodies.
"Something went in here, killed these bastards…hell, not even bloodsuckers can do this shit." Sergei said with a hard look on his face before walking to the next room, where he finds more corpses, and loots them while the unsettling thought weighs itself on him.
Pyrrha notices a rifle as she stands and watches over Sergei to her old weapon. It reminded her of Miló in rifle form, and from the looks it's old and beaten; with its wooden frame's varnish chipped and riddled with scratches and gashes, the same can be said for its metal parts, which is covered in grime and had bits of rust and spots on it. She picks it up and pulls the charging handle back, revealing a round in the chamber. Pyrrha then gulps as she crouches and hesitantly puts her hands on the corpse, "I'm sorry…" she whispers before checking the pockets and finds a few pieces of old ammunition for her SKS which she immediately pockets before quickly standing up.
Sergei raises an eyebrow as he didn't expect her to start looting bodies. However, he quickly hides it when she turns to face him, "Let's go?" he says instead, deciding not to comment on Pyrrha's actions as he knew they must go through this place quickly.
Pyrrha nods "Yes, let's go." She slings her new rifle over her shoulder, all the while trying not to look behind as she follows Sergei down a rusty spiral staircase that was dimly lit by a failing lightbulb overhead. Upon reaching the bottom, she sees an intimidating amount of green glowing puddles crowding the small tunnel's interior.
"So, what are those anomalies called?" Pyrrha asks while motioning a hand towards one of the glowing patches of green on the ground by the tunnel.
Sergei shrugs, "They're called fruit punch anomalies. And before you ask: No, I am not the one responsible naming them. "He chuckles, "just don't go near them as usual, or else you'll get nasty acid burns." The stalker adds as he picks a pebble up and tosses it to the anomaly which causes it to glow brightly for a second while letting out hisses as the pebble is dissolved.
Nearing a doorway, the two feel the ground shake before it is then followed by heavy thumping and rumbling. Sergei looks towards the doorway and sees a humanoid corpse, it's lower half missing after being ripped by extreme force.
"Shit…pseudogiant, how the hell did it get here?" Sergei mutters, keeping his voice down, as he doesn't want to alert the dangerous mutant of their presence.
Pyrrha looks at the torn upper half of the dead mutant, it has sickly pale greyish skin, with a wiry body, abnormally long arms end into claws. Its face is the stuff of nightmares; a snarling expression, glowing yellow eyes and a bloody squid like mouth in place of a normal face. She remembers the partial description of how these mutants fed, making her shudder at the mere thought of it as she turns to Sergei, "Pseudogiant?" she asks, and although she knows what the mutant is, she thinks it was better to ask the more experienced stalker regardless.
"Large mutant, a real bastard to deal with. And pray it dies before we run out of ammo." Sergei says as he makes a quick peek out of the door and quickly ducks back inside as the heavy footsteps of the mutant starts to become even louder, he then moves and gets the two of them to quickly hide behind the doorway, with Pyrrha standing opposite to Sergei's spot.
Pyrrha can see a glimpse on what was going on in the other room; like in the previous areas, it's still dark, dilapidated and covered in grime and anomalies. But then a large abomination comes into view, with its disturbingly grotesque human like face snarling as it grabs the bloodsucker's upper torso on the ground and rips it apart with its shark-like teeth. And from what she can see, the pseudogiant has abnormally huge legs that were thick as tree trunks at the end, a grotesque body with small limbs – seemingly too small for its body but turns into wicked sharp claws, which are getting covered in blood as the mutant continues to rip the dead bloodsucker's corpse apart. Pyrrha immediately ducks back in, with her heart pounding in her chest, she did not want to take her chances with the creature, even with aura.
It's a small blessing that mutants can't sense fear…
When the creature turns away and runs off somewhere else, Sergei turns to Pyrrha, "Alright I got a plan. See those pipes and some piles of junk right there?" He motions to the inside of the room "I want you to use your magic powers or something to slow the bitch down, so that we can get to this stash Fox told us about fast."
Pyrrha nods "Alright, on your signal." She says and then peeks into the room, the pseudogiant audibly coming closer.
The two then wait for the pseudo giant to come closer as it stomps closer to where Sergei and Pyrrha are hiding, Pyrrha was surprised as to how it's so fast for something so large and bulky, but she didn't dwell on that for long and she readies her semblance, making a nearby pole as thick as her arm float just slightly so that the mutant won't notice their presence.
The mutant stops, and Sergei shoots a nod towards Pyrrha, and she then lets the pole fly towards the mutant at high speeds and stabs through one of its legs before embedding itself on the concrete floor. The mutant roars as the two quickly run past it and into another room where they find more mangled bodies seemingly belonging to the military.
As much as Sergei wanted to stop and check the bodies, he knows that there isn't enough time when he hears the pole snap with a loud clang and the mutant roars again before stomping forwards and quickly gaining on them.
The two then runs to a smaller room and out into another tunnel, Sergei then points at a smaller side tunnel not far from where they are and yells, "There, that's where the stash is!" before they suddenly trip over when sudden shockwave causes them to lose their balance. The pseudogiant shakes the ground as it advances, the mutant very much unhappy over its leg getting impaled.
"Run!" Sergei yells and stumbles to get up to wildly fire his shotgun. However instead of a blast, he only hears a click, and his blood runs cold in the realization that his gun is jammed. The pseudogiant is now in front of him, and the mutant immediately slashes at him with its smaller arms, cutting through the Kevlar and his clothes, and slicing in deep in into his flesh, making him scream out in pain as he's then thrown to a nearby wall with his shotgun clattering out of his grip.
Pyrrha continues to run but stops when she hears Sergei cry out in pain before he flies past her, and onto a wall, which knocks him out while blood seeps from his head. Alarmed, Pyrrha then uses her semblance once again, slamming a large pipe onto the mutant and embeds it into the wall. She then quickly runs to Sergei, ignoring the mutant's roars as it tries to free itself from the wall.
Pyrrha then lifts Sergei and throws his arm around her shoulder, she then picks his shotgun up and starts dragging him to the small tunnel entrance, she then sees the pipe that was keeping the mutant from escaping becoming loose, so she slams the pipe against the mutant again for good measure before quickly going into the small pipe that barely fit them both. Then she climbs the small ladder – a task made more difficult by Sergei's bulk – at the end of which she stumbles into a small room only lit by a light bulb at the other end of the room.
Pyrrha plops Sergei down onto a small bedroll on the floor, and then she quickly looks for a first aid kit in his pack. Upon finding it, she then checks his head concussion that was still bleeding out and now staining the bedroll. Not wasting any more time Pyrrha quickly strips off his webbings and damaged vest and unbuttons his shirt before inspecting the bleeding gash on his chest. She tries to clean it up with the alcohol she found in the medpack before bandaging his wounds as best she can, but his wound continues to bleed especially from his concussion.
Fear, the sort that is not for herself, spikes through her heart as she realizes that her only friend could die here and now. 'Think, Pyrrha, what can you do? How can you- '
Her eyes widen, and then she takes a deep breath while activating her aura and places her hand onto his chest and chanting: "For it is in passing that we achieve immortality. Through this we become the paragon of virtue and glory to rise above all, infinite in distance and unbound by death. I release your soul and by my shoulder protect thee…" before sighing shakily as she feels her aura drop considerably. But she thought it was worth it when Sergei starts to emit a light blue glow, confirming that his aura is now activated.
After treating Sergei, Pyrrha inspects the room for anything useful, and finds more ammo of various calibers and two assault rifles - one seemingly being a carbine version of the other assault rifle she found. Pyrrha then turns her attention to a board, with maps and photos pinned on it. She then examines the maps which are all written in Cryllic which she does not understand. She then looks back at Sergei and sees that he now was curled into a ball, and so she quickly strips off her jacket and puts it over the Stalker. She then sits and leans back on the wall beside him, trying her best to ignore the sounds of the rampaging pseudogiant before looking up towards the dirty, grime-filled ceiling and then closing her eyes.
…
A few hours pass and Sergei wakes up grasping his now bandaged chest in pain. Holding back a rain of curses, he looks around and sees Pyrrha asleep not far to his left, her jacket removed and only wearing the old clothes she had when she arrived in the Zone.
Sergei then stands up slowly, to not reopen his wounds. He then walks over to Pyrrha and is about to put her jacket back over her when her eyes blearily open "Sergei?" she asks sleepily.
"H-hey." Sergei stammers in surprise as he retracts his hand, "Was just giving you back your 'blanket'." He chuckles before taking a step back to give Pyrrha some space as she stood "Thanks for patching me up, by the way." He said with small smile.
Pyrrha shakes her head "Well we're stuck with each other, and I would definitely not like the idea of losing my only guide and friend in this world." She chuckles before yawning to rid herself of what's left of her sleepiness. "Should we go?" she asks.
'A friend huh…' Sergei thinks to himself. It has been a long time since someone called him as such. He chuckles, feeling a slight sense of elation "Well if the Zone allows me to." He smirks before checking his wristwatch and sees that it reads 9:22 pm "Well, since we're grabbing some documents from the military, and I can't wait to get my hands on that AN-94." he then looks around the room "There should be one here…" he says as he walks around the room, checking every nook and cranny. There's a board leaning against the walls, he pushes it aside to reveal a small briefcase in thick grey casing sitting in a small port in the wall. Sergei picks it up and grins "Got it!" Before wincing when pain from his wounds flares. Causing him to stagger at which Pyrrha runs over when she notices.
"Are you okay?" she concernedly asks as she helps recompose his posture. She looks at his bandages and sees blood starting to seep through it again as he doubles over making him lean on Pyrrha for support.
Sergei weakly nods "Yeah, I am…" and then looks down before he asks "Uhm, why am I glowing blue?" with confusion on his face.
"It's your aura, I may have forgotten to tell you I activated it for you." Pyrrha replies while she chuckles nervously, as Sergei slowly regains his balance then examines his aura on his arms, she says "But as you wanted, your aura unlocked, you should be healing a lot faster now, and you're not exactly in the best condition to travel or fight at the moment." She smirks at Sergei.
Sergei scoffs at Pyrrha "Oh please – I had that one time I became a mummy because I got ambushed by mercenaries. Trust me I'll be fine!" He then grins "So when do I get to shoot lasers from my eyes?"
Pyrrha laughs at Sergei before shaking her head, "If you meant semblance, it would come eventually... But seeing how dangerous the Zone is, it probably won't take long." Pyrrha explains "You can also activate and deactivate your aura if you wanted t but keep it on as you are still healing." Before walking over to a near nearby table and hands Sergei the two assault rifles as he sits down "I also found these, thought you might be interested in them." She said as she hands him the assault rifles while the Stalker sits on the floor.
"Damn, a kalash and a krink." He chuckles as he examines the two guns, looking over the externals and then tests the internals by pulling back it's bolt, "Well, they're both in good condition." As he hands the AKS to Pyrrha while he took the AK-74M "Well did you find ammo for it?" he asks.
"Uhm, what caliber does it fire?" Pyrrha asks as she sets the boxes of ammo she found in the room on a nearby table.
"Look for 5.45x39." Sergei replies and not long after Pyrrha hands him four boxes of ammo to him which he takes two and pushes the other two boxes to her "Take it as thanks for helping me out and well…and helping me get my aura on."
"It's alright…" Pyrrha nods as she takes the boxes of assault rifle ammo from Sergei.
They stay in the room for a while more, reloading and cleaning their weapons. When Pyrrha asked for help from Sergei to how to disassemble the weapons she has, Sergei shows her how to disassemble all three, surprising her.
"You seem to know how to maintain a lot of weapons." Pyrrha comments as she watches Sergei strip her SKS down to its parts before moving onto her AKS-74U and MP5.
"Well, you have to learn how to maintain your stuff one way or another. Here in the Zone, getting it repaired from a specialist is expensive and a lot of us stalkers don't really have the pocket money t." Sergei replies, keeping his attention on disassembling her weapons and segregates the parts after disassembling.
Pyrrha nods, "That makes sense." she replies before then taking the parts from Sergei to examine them one by one.
Silence fills the air again as they go about maintaining their weapons, with Sergei letting out an exasperated sigh when finds out that his trusty shotgun's barrel has been bent to uselessness, so he decides to disassemble the gun and put the parts in his pack 'Maybe I should've asked for a Saiga-12 or something similar instead of an AN-94…besides it's a pain to maintain that thing.' He thought.
Pyrrha quietly reassembles her SKS while thinking of Remnant again, about her friends could be up to. They're likely continuing their huntsman training, and hopefully catching that woman, Cinder Fall.
The mere thought of her makes her grit her teeth in anger.
"Pyrrha, are you okay?" Sergei asks, his eyes switching between Pyrrha and a grate that suddenly had started to float and slowly contort into a ball.
Pyrrha's eyes widen in realization, and she drops the grate on the floor, making her wince, "S-sorry, but yes I am fine." She stammers out as Sergei looks at her with an unconvinced expression but shrugs in response.
"Alright, I just noticed your aura flaring and then that grate is suddenly floating." Sergei chuckles as he finishes cleaning his new AK-74 before reassembling "So what did you do in your world? Aside from being a student."
"Hmmm…" Pyrrha ponders for a moment, pausing her cleaning of the barrel of her SKS, "I was a huntress… well, a trainee, at least." She says with a smile as she remembers the good old days with her team in beacon.
"Huntress? So, you guys hunt animals and sell their skins and whatnot?" Sergei asks as he positions himself in a more comfortable seating position.
Pyrrha shakes her head "No, we hunt grimm instead for the safety of the people and the world." She replies while reassembling her rifle.
"I see…so is it like mandatory to become one? Because it kind of sounds like you guys are sort of like a civilian militia from what I just heard." Sergei says as he grabs his bloodied fatigues and puts it on, smoothing out the kinks caused by dried blood as best he can.
Pyrrha shakes her head "No, it isn't mandatory to become one, but it is encouraged. And as for being a civilian militia? Not really, some of us travel around, helping who we can, some others do grimm bounties, while some…go and become and become mercenaries."
"Oh, I see…so anything else? Hobbies, or maybe a career?" Sergei asks again while taking out a bag of stale chips and starts to eat it.
Pyrrha sighs before chuckling "I was a celebrity back there for winning the Mistral Tournament thrice a row." She sheepishly rubs the side of her neck, smiling slightly.
Sergei raises an eyebrow, "That tournament must've been big one, so how'd it treat yah?" He chuckles before offering some chips to Pyrrha "Hungry?"
"I thought you'd never ask." Pyrrha replies with light laugh before taking the bag of chips and starts eating, "So where was I? Right…well, about celebrity life, well I'd say it's enjoyable, but sometimes the limelight can get overbearing and stressful I admit." She sighs, "And it's actually kind of refreshing that people here don't recognize or even know my name." She smiles a little as her expression relaxes.
"Huh, what about the magazine reporters, paparazzis, parties and more exhausting stuff?" Sergei asks, his curiosity clear in his expression "Hell still can't understand how celebrities handle that stuff." He says as he puts on his vest.
"It takes time to get used to." Pyrrha chuckles before raising an eyebrow at Sergei as he stands up "Are you fine now?" she asks.
Sergei nods, "It's still there but not as bad as earlier." He yawns "Well this aura stuff is neat. You better teach me more." He grins and pats her shoulder before picking up his things and new assault rifle.
They both then walk back to the entrance of the hide out quietly as to not alert the Pseudogiant.
Climbing down the ladder and then crawling out of the small tunnel, they emerge back into the dark dimly lit tunnels with the Psuedogiant closing in. Silently as they can, they make a run for it until they find a room with stairs leading up to another narrow dimly lit room with larger pipes on one side of the room.
They then continue to walk until they emerge into another tunnel, this time leading up to the surface as in the far end of the tunnel was a ladder. But while preparing to ascend, they hear footsteps and growling behind them. Turning back around, they see a vaguely humanoid figure in the dark.
Before anyone of them could react, a high-pitched squeal pierces their ears causing both to cover it. The figure then shoots out an arm towards Pyrrha, and she suddenly staggers and collapses onto the ground, curling into a ball as she feels something creeping into her mind, trying to take over her consciousness in the midst of incomprehensible whispers.
"Controller!" Sergei yells as he runs towards the controller while firing his assault rifle. The controller turns to make another psychic attack, but Sergei takes out his bayonet and stabs the mutant, causing it to let out a roar before it then attempts to make a swipe at the stalker with its mutated claws. The stalker nimbly jumps back to gain some distance out of its psychic field dumping whatever left of his magazine into to the mutant's head, making it stumble and roar again before shuffling towards the stalker who is reloading a fresh mag into his rifle and attaching bayonet in the end of his rifle. The mutant tries to stab Sergei, but he manages to dodge it, though the mutant then succeeds to land a hit when it swipes a claw immediately afterwards.
Sergei could feel the mutant's claws hit him, but it makes almost no damage to him thanks to his aura. Although it feels like the hot knives slicing across his skin. Cyka.
Before the mutant can make another move, Sergei pulls the trigger of his assault rifle and unloads his newly loaded magazine into the Controller while shouting: "Die mutant!" He then laughs maniacally when the mutant's abdomen burst open from the amount of 5.45 rounds it took before collapsing on the ground, its entrails now turned to mush.
Sergei pants heavily and falls to one knee. He leans on his rifle for a moment, taking a breather before standing up and jogging back to Pyrrha who is just now sitting up to hold her head, "Ugh, that felt horrible." She groans.
"Tell me about it." Sergei sighs "We just met two of the most dangerous mutants in the Zone, my friend." He laughs before patting Pyrrha's back then lends her hand to pull her up which she takes. They then continue walking towards the ladder.
"Oh, by the way…you're running low on aura since it's flickering." Pyrrha comments as they stop by the ladder leading up to the surface.
"Eh? Maybe it's the radiation doing it's 'magic'." Sergei jokes before coughing lightly "But seriously, controllers hit hard even though they don't look like it, and there's also the fact my aura got spent from healing me for at least an hour or two." He sighs before looking up "Ready? We might face a shit ton of military up there." He points towards the open manhole above them.
Pyrrha nods while looking out through the manhole opening above "Yes, and let's make it quick." Before putting her hands ascending up the manhole with Sergei following below her.
A/N: Phew! That took a week. Sorry for the late publishing as things have been quite busy.
So looks like Sergei has his aura activated and the duo are now going to kick some military butt.
So thank you sooo much NlaEid for helping me edit out this chapter! (note: uhhh will also edit some of the chapters as I may have missed some mistakes that need fixing.)
