Okay… I'm going to be perfectly honest with all of you. I didn't expect this story to get as much attention as I did. Yes, this is another unique crossover I am doing, but I'm pleasantly surprised to see fans of both Bleach and A Certain series gather to read this story. For that, I want to thank all of you from the bottom of my heart. Hopefully, I can make this story as entertaining as possible.

I do have to confess something. While looking up info on Karakura town, I realized it was located in West Tokyo. Honestly, that was my fault for not doing enough research prior to writing the first chapter. Luckily, I did fix that issue, but I just wanted to apologize for that guys.

One more quick word before the reviews. Given how Railgun and Accelerator have the words 'scientific' in it while Index has 'Magical,' I thought it'd be best to change the title of the story, so now the story will officially be called A Certain Supernatural Substitute. Yeah, maybe I should've realized this, but it's better to address this now than later, so I hope this won't confuse you guys.

Omni warrior: Well, he has my sympathy. For the first time, we're hoping for an anime original ending… 2020 is definitely a strange year, isn't it?

Ikusatsunahi: I like that pairing.

Phantom Thief of Hearts: You're not wrong. But the harem part is because I can see Ichigo get some attention from girls and he may go on a few dates as a way to be normal. Sorry if this annoyed you.

Cloud111: Thanks.

Zatil Hidayah Spensa: You're caught in my perfect tsukuyomi.

Aesir19: The girl with wire blades? Hell yeah she's awesome.

Docron: I have a few ideas on how this story will go.

Guest: Thanks!

Guest number 2: Oh, I have a way to bring Ichigo's powers in a bit earlier than it happened in canon, but it will still be believable. You read that crossover with Hellsing too? It was fun, but… Yeah, he kinda went a bit crazy. I might not be better with the ideas I have, but who knows.

Matemeo3: Ehhhh, you're not on the wrong path, but I have something similar to canon happen, so watch out for that. Sorry about that, but I feel if I don't explain, people will get triggered.

Messiah of authors: The Fullbringer arc in this story will showcase a lot more than what we saw in Canon, so get ready for that.

Last time: Ichigo Kurosaki thought about how his life without powers had gone, only to be given an opportunity by Kisuke Urahara. Having detected a new source of spirit energy in Academy City, Kisuke asked Ichigo if he would be willing to go while also attending school there. With some encouragement from Isshin, ichigo eventually decided to accept Kisuke and his offer. Elsewhere, Yoruichi was surveying Europe when she was attacked by a stranger with a long sword and ice magic.

Will Ichigo be able to say goodbye to his friends and family when he prepares for the trip? And how will he be able to handle the craziness of Academy City? Let's find out…

'Unagiya Odd Jobs, the next day'

"ARE YOU KIDDING ME, ICHIGO?! AFTER YESTERDAY, YOU DECIDE NOW TO TELL ME THIS?!"

Ichigo flinched at the volume of Ikumi's voice, not that he really blamed her though.

"Look, it was last minute." Ichigo tried explaining, though his boss was of another opinion.

"I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU! WHERE'S THE TRUST WE HAD FOR EACH OTHER?! WHERE'S THE RESPECT?! I SHOULD'VE KNOWN A PUNK LIKE YOU WOULD DO THIS!" Ikumi continued to yell, venting out all her anger. At this point, it wouldn't be surprising if the neighbors called the police for disturbance of peace.

After having his talk with Isshin, Ichigo went ahead and told Kisuke he would accept the offer, which led to some jokes from old Hat and Clogs(which earned more than a fist to the head by Ichigo). Kisuke told him that Isshin would work on having Ichigo transfer schools which he worked on getting Ichigo the much needed supplies for the mission, which was said to take at least a few weeks. Given the time, Ichigo decided the first thing he should do is go and tell his boss.

The results were exactly what he expected.

Ichigo let his boss rant about him for a few more minutes, flinching at some of her choice words before she eventually calmed down. Sitting in her chair, Ikumi ran a hand on her face before looking at Ichigo with a glare. "Seriously, why didn't you tell me?"

"I already said it was last minute." Ichigo reasoned, getting over the pain of hearing his boss yell. "A family friend gave me the chance to transfer to Academy City for a year and since my dad-"

"Wait, wait, wait. Academy City? THE Academy City?" Ikumi asked, her anger being replaced with confusion. "The city that has some of the best schools in Tokyo and the place that has all those Espers?"

"You know about it?" Ichigo questioned with a raised brow, though he should have expected her to know about it. After all, what she said was true.

"Hell yeah I know about it! My sister lives there!" Ikumi informed Ichigo, who widened his eyes in shock. Ikumi had a sister this whole time? Then again, she didn't really need to tell him about her family life.

Speaking of which…

"Mom?" A young male voice called out from the slightly open door behind Ikumi. Clicking her tongue, Ikumi quickly threw her hat and gloves at Ichigo, who caught them while giving her an irritated expression. The door soon opened, revealing a tired young boy. He had mid length black hair between his eyes and ears, along with matching eyes. He wore the Unagiya shirt with a pair of blue shorts and sandals. The boy in question was Kaoru Unagiya, the lone child to Ikumi.

"Hello, sweetie. I'm sorry if I scared you." Ikumi said in a motherly tone, now wearing a yellow apron with flowers on it. "Are you hungry?"

"No, I'm okay." Kaoru told his mom with a smile before he looked over her shoulder and saw Ichigo. "Oh, stupid Ichigo's here." Said person felt a tick mark on his head throbbing at the mention of the dumb nickname he was given. "Why's he here?"

"Don't complain. Ichigo will be leaving soon." Ikumi informed her son, who looked at her in confusion.

"Really?" Kaoru asked while blinking his eyes.

"Yup. He's going to Tokyo." Ikumi said before she looked over to Ichigo with a smirk. For some reason, he felt a chill run down his spine. "Besides, he'll be working with aunt Kagura."

"What?!" Both Ichigo and Kaoru shouted in unison, the former in shock while the latter in surprise.

"That's right. Since he's going there, he'll be helping aunt Kagura at the restaurant. Won't you, Ichigo?" Ikumi asked the orange haired high schooler, turning to him while possessing a dark aura. The scary part was that she still had her motherly smile on her face, which caused the hair behind Ichigo's neck to stand up.

"Oh." Kaoru said before he glared at Ichigo. "Hey, stuipd Ichigo. Don't think of trying anything on my aunt. Just because you work for my mom doesn't mean you can date my aunt." He then pulled one of his eyes down while sticking his tongue at Ichigo.

"Why don't you go and play while mommy finishes her talk with Ichigo, okay?" Ikumi asked her son, who gave her a nod before leaving out of the door. But not before sticking his tongue at Ichigo one last time. Once her son was out of sight, Ikumi let out a sigh while turning to Ichigo with a soft expression. "Sorry about that. I don't know why, but you're the one person he doesn't warm up to. I know you wanna tell him off, but try to hold off, okay?"

"Yeah, whatever. It's not like I'd do whatever he said I'd do." Ichigo scoffed before giving his boss an irritated look. "And what's this about working for your sister? I never said I-" Before he could finish, Ikumi suddenly grabbed him by the head, squeezing it.

"Listen here, Ichigo my boy." Ikumi said threateningly, adding pressure to his head. "Since this is last minute and you'll be in Academy City anyways, you'll work with my sister to pay me back for missing all those days of work. After all, I didn't hire you to slack off. Understand?" As much as Ichigo wanted to call out Ikumi's words, he knew that deep down, she was right. Plus, he didn't know how much it would be to stay in Academy City, especially since his family wasn't especially rich. Having a little job during his stay wasn't something he should complain about.

"Fine. I'll do it. Can you let me go now?" Ichigo asked Ikumi with a glare. Both boss and employee stared at one another before Ikumi let him go, only to ruffle his hair.

"You really are stubborn, Ichigo." Ikumi joked lightly as Ichigo swatted her hand away. "Still, I'm happy for you. Just promise me this." She then softly punched his shoulder with a genuine smile, something that caught Ichigo off guard. "Promise you won't screw around and do your best over there, okay? I don't want to be the boss of a dropout." Hearing her speak so sincerely was a surprise to Ichgio, yet hearing her say that felt good. Maybe it was because Ikumi was a good person or maybe… maybe it was because she acted like a big sister to him. Either way, Ichigo knew he couldn't let her down. "But since you still have a month before you leave…" Reaching to the side, Ikumi grabbed a stack of paper and shoved it against Ichigo's chest, pushing him a bit. "You can do some more jobs for me. They won't finish on their own."

Out of all the things Ichigo was going to miss about Karakura, doing odd jobs for Ikumi wasn't one of them.

'Several weeks later'

"ICHIGO! I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU'RE REALLY LEAVING!" Keigo Asano cried out to his classmate and friend, streams of tears running down his eyes. It was strange to see a senior in high school cry so comedically, but all of Keigo's classmates were used to his emotional outbursts.

The day had finally arrived. The day Ichigo Kurosaki would be leaving for Academy City.

To say it was a hassle to get Ichigo transferred would be an understatement. Luckily, and with the help of Isshin, Ichigo was finally about to get his school to transfer him, and it was even luckier that they were able to finish paperwork for Ogama high school. It was as if the Soul King himself was ensuring that Ichigo would be able to go to Academy City.

Given that it was his last day in Karakura before he had to leave, all his friends decided to give him a proper goodbye outside his house. Though, there were more than a few tears being shed for Ichigo.

"I still can't believe you're actually going to Academy City, Ichigo. That's amazing." Mizuiro Kojima told his friend with a calm smile.

"No kidding. I would've thought you'd wanna stay here, given how many classes you skipped out on." Tatsuki Arisawa added with a teasing tone, a smirk on her face.

"Hey, I only missed a few classes. And you know why I did." Ichigo told his former karate rival with a glare, even if she knew she was teasing. She then surprised him with a light punch to the chest, followed by a smile. "Still, be careful out there. And don't worry about your sisters." Ichigo gave her a small smile and a quick thanks.

"Good luck." Chad said simply as he placed a comforting hang on Ichigo's shoulder, giving him a strong squeeze. Given how much of a gentle giant he was and how quiet he usually is, this was all he could do to wish Ichigo good fortune.

"Thanks, Chad." Ichigo thanked his friend while patting his arm. It was good to see Chad was taking his leave much better than the others.

Speaking of which…

Orihime Inoue had turned into a crying mess. Hers was more understandable than Keigo given how many life and death situations she and Ichigo have been through. Still, it didn't make it any easier for her to say goodbye.

"Come on. You said you'd be happy for him. There's no need to cry." Tatsuki told her friend softly while patting her back.

"I-I know. B-But it's still hard." Orihime said through her tears as she began wiping them away. This wasn't like the time she said goodbye before leaving for Hueco Mundo with Ulquiorra, yet why is she bawling out now?

"Hey." Orihime was surprised when Ichigo put a hand on her shoulder, making her look up to see his charming smile. "Don't worry. I'll be back in a year. You don't need to cry." Feeling her emotions break, Orihime did the unthinkable: she embraced Ichigo. Widening his eyes a bit, Ichigo watched as his friend cried on his shirt. The others were also surprised, though they simply let her do as she pleased. Though he did blush a bit, Ichigo merely patted her back to comfort her. After a good few minutes, Orihime let go, giving Ichigo an embarrassed smile. "Hehehe, sorry about that."

"No, it's fine." Ichigo waved her off, his cheeks returning to normal. At least she wasn't going to cry anymore. If there was one thing Ichigo hated: it was to see a friend cry. Giving him one last smile, Orihime stepped to the side, allowing Ichigo to stare at his former rival/friend, Uryu Ishida.

"I hope you aren't expecting me to cry for you, Ichigo. In fact, without you here, things might actually be a little more peaceful." Uryu told him while fixing his glasses, much to Ichigo's irritation. However, before Ichigo could retort, Uryu stepped up and offered him a hand. "Still, I should be happy for you. After all, enrolling to a school in Academy City is difficult, especially with the high level of Espers there."

"Don't worry about me. I can handle it." Ichigo retorted, but regardless, he shook Uryu's hand with a firm grip. Despite how much he and Uryu argued, Ichigo respected the Quincy and saw him as a decent friend. "Think you can handle the Hollows here?"

"Of course I can." Uryu said with some irritation, though he knew Ichigo was just joking. "I should say the same about the Espers. Then again, you've always been stubborn."

"Screw you, too." The two friendly rivals then backed away, giving each other a nod of acknowledgement. "And you can stop crying, Keigo."

"I can't help it! You're going away when we haven't hung out in ages!" Keigo wailed before he grabbed Ichigo by his collar and started shaking him. "Seriously, couldn't we have gone to the arcade or something?! Is that too much to ask f-GUAH!" Before he could finish, Keigo suddenly felt an arm around his neck, courtesy of Tatsuki as she pulled him away from Ichigo.

"And you're done. Sorry about that, Ichigo." Tatsuki apolgized while applying more pressure to Keigo, causing him to gag comedically. His friends all sweatdropped at his behavior, wondering just how long he was gonna cry.

"Sorry kids, but we have to get going." Isshin suddenly spoke up while exiting Kurosaki Clinic, wearing a simple black suit with a fedora on top. He carried Ichigo's last suitcase with him and his daughters were behind him. Yuzu was obviously in tears while Karin was putting on a brave face. "Getting to Academy City won't be an easy drive, so the sooner I can get my idiot son there, the better." His words earned a glare from Ichigo. Isshin merely ignored the look as he went to put Ichigo's suitcase in the car while the girls gave their final goodbye.

"Take care of yourself, Ichigo!" Yuzu cried out while hugging her brother tightly, getting a chuckle from him.

"I will. And you make sure to do good in school, kay?" Ichigo replied back while rubbing the top of her head. True, he was going to miss Yuzu and her amazing cooking, but he also trusted her to move on. Yuzu released Ichigo with a teary smile before her brother walked up to Karin, who looked away.

"So you're really leaving, huh? I guess it was bound to happen." Karin said while keeping her usual cool demeanor. Being the more reserved of the two, Karin did a good enough job hiding her feelings as opposed to Yuzu, yet even she still felt a bit sad to see her big brother leave. She was then caught off guard when Ichigo began patting her head.

"Take care of Yuzu and dad for me, okay? I'm trusting you, Karin." Ichigo told her in a brotherly tone. He understood Karin and since she was the most mature out of their family besides him(even though he knew Isshin played the part of the fool to hide his identity), he could trust her to watch things while he was away. Letting out a sigh from her nose, Karin quickly gave Ichigo a hug before pulling away to save face. Ichigo took one last look at all his friends and his sisters, making sure to remember their faces. Sure, he wasn't going to be gone forever and will likely return before graduation, but it was still going to be weird not to see them everyday.

*HONK*HONK*

"Come on! We're burning daylight!" Isshin called out while honking the car horn so Ichigo would get moving.

"I'm coming!" Ichigo yelled back with a tick mark before he looked at his friends with a softer expression. They all gave him a nod of understanding(even Keigo, who got over his crying phase and manned up). With a final smile, Ichigo opened the back door of his dad's car, getting inside before closing it. Seeing his son inside, Isshin started the engine before he began driving away. Ichigo took a moment to look back, seeing everyone wave him goodbye.

'Don't worry. I'll come back.'

"So… anyone wanna hit the arcade now?" Keigo asked everyone, who gave him a look.

'Academy City afternoon'

The drive leading Academy City wasn't as bad as Ichigo thought it'd be. During the drive, he either read one of the manga Keigo got him last Christmas, checking his phone for any news on Academy City or simply watching everything from the window. Traffic wasn't bad either, apart from a few delays here and there.

However, what surprised Ichigo was how quiet Isshin was during the whole drive. Sure, he needed to focus on driving so they wouldn't get in an accident, but even Ichigo was more than willing to have a talk, as long as it wasn't anything annoying.

"So…" Ichigo started, trying to get his father's attention. It seemed to work as Isshin glanced at his rearview mirror to look at Ichigo. "Have you been to Academy City? I know you didn't have a lot of free time when you were a Captain."

"Your mother did, actually." Isshin said in a soft tone, causing Ichigo to widen his eyes. His mom had actually come to Academy City? That was something he wasn't expecting. "When she was young, her adoptive mother wanted her to go to a school that would give her the best education, so she brought her to Academy City." A smile crossed Isshin's face as he recalled everything Masaki had told him. "She told me everything about this place. The best places to eat, the schools that have the best fairs. Man, you couldn't stop her from talking about Academy City. She even had a few friends in that all girl school for Espers. We actually talked about moving there someday, but then you were born and took the fun away."

"Hey." Ichigo shot back with a glare, much to Isshin's amusement.

"But anyways, since you were born, Masaki thought it would be good to transfer you to Academy City when you were old enough. So in a way, I'm keeping that promise." Isshin spoke up in a saddened tone, his grip on the steering wheel tightening unconsciously. Thinking about Masaki always brought bitter memories, but also happy ones. If he could keep one promise to Masaki, then not even the Soul Reapers captains could stop him from achieving that.

As for Ichigo, as much as Isshin annoyed him, he had to admit it was nice to learn a bit more about his mom. If she could get through Academy City, then he might as well try as well. Who knows? Maybe he'll be able to see all the great stuff she mentioned. 'Still, I wonder how the Espers there are. Mom didn't have any special powers, so it must have been strange to see them use their gifts. Then again, she married dad and he was a Soul Reaper Captain. But it's not like she knew-'

"Hey, we're here." Isshin spoke up, snapping Ichigo out of his thoughts as he raised his head.

The moment he did, Ichigo's eyes widened as his mouth dropped a bit.

"Woah…"

Not too far from where the two Kurosaki men were stood the school wide city. The place his mother had attended and a place Uryu wanted to go to.

Academy City.

It was MUCH bigger than Karakura town. That much was expected. However, the actual size was what caught Ichigo off guard.

Academy it was MASSIVE. Multiple buildings stood taller than some in Karakura, with several blimps flying over it. There were also large screens with different advertisements on them and weather reports here and there. Surprisingly, there were several wind turbines scattered everywhere and even a massive glass building near the center of it.

'Should've known my idiot son would be like that.' Isshin thought with an amused expression. But even he was surprised at how large Academy City was, and they haven't even gotten inside yet!

After exiting the freeway, Isshin and Ichigo drove through one of the districts in Academy City.

"You'd be shocked by how many students there are. And did you see those trash robots?" Isshin pointed out as several tall robots began wheeling on the concrete, sucking up any trash on the floor. "Seriously, I'm willing to bet most of the people here are total nerds. Not like your awesome dad."

Ichigo merely ignored his father's rants as he continued to take in all the sights they were passing by. He had seen a few images of Academy City in his free time during the last month, but to actually see all of it was a different experience. A majority of the people walking by were teenagers around his age or younger, each wearing similar school uniforms. It was clear that Academy City had some sort of dress code for some students, something Ichigo mentally took a note of.

'It's a lot different from Karakura, that's for sure. Wonder what else this place has.' Ichigo thought in interest. As Isshin turned the corner, Ichigo caught a glimpse of a male student with spiky black hair passing by, looking rather miserable if the wet stains on his clothes were any indication. 'I'd hate to be that guy.'

"Ichigo? Ichigo!" Isshin shouted before he slammed the brakes on a red light on purpose, causing Ichigo to crash face first into the back of the passenger's seat.

"What?!" The orange haired teen shouted while rubbing his slightly red face in irritation.

"I was about to tell you about the spiritual pressure in the air." Isshin said in a serious tone, catching Ichigo's attention as he stayed quiet.

"What can you feel?" Ichigo asked his dad with an equally serious tone. Since his dad still had some of his spirit energy, he could give Ichigo a little insight as to what he should expect.

"I can't tell you what it is, exactly. It must be that A.I.M crap Kisuke told me about before taking you here." Isshin began explaining, his eyes narrowing a bit. "You have no idea what A.I.M is, do you? Of course you don't. From what Kisuke told me, it's short for An Involuntary Movement. Apparently, Espers let out a small wave from their bodies that can affect the area around them, but it's so invisible to the naked eye, that even they can't see it clearly."

"How bad is it?" Ichigo questioned curiously.

"Nothing like Spiritual Pressure that Hollows emit, I can tell you that much." Isshin responded, already throwing that comparison out the window. "But the Reishi is… different from what I can tell. It's a good thing Kisuke packed you a few things to help with your little mission." It wasn't that much of a shock that a man as smart as Kisuke wouldn't let someone as powerless as Ichigo go on a scouting mission without a few tools. "We're here." Ichigo perked up when he heard his father speak before he looked at the window, only to raise a brow.

Isshin had brought Ichigo to what looked like a rather nice apartment complex that looked to be six floors tall. It was painted light yellow with a line of red on each floor. There were small balconies in each room and some were decorated in their own unique way. On top of the doors was a sign that said 'Jitaku Kara.'

"Home from home, huh?" Ichigo translated as Isshin drove through the small parking lot, parking at a good spot. "Not a bad name."

"You better get used to it, cause this is where you'll be staying." Isshin told his son with a smirk as he exited the car.

"Hang on, what?" Ichigo asked in surprise as he also exited the car, grabbing his belongings.

"Like hell I'd pay for you to stay in a five star hotel." Isshin scoffed as he pulled out a long, brown case with the Urahara stamp on it. It was clear that this was what Urahara wanted to give Ichigo before leaving. "A friend of your mom owns this building, so I gave her a call and she said she'd let you stay here. Think of it as an early birthday present." Ichigo just rolled his eyes while throwing his backpack over his shoulders and taking out his suitcase. The two then made their way to the front doors, which opened automatically to give them a view of the inside.

Given how simply the building looked outside, it was a surprise to see the interior looked much like a once of those fancy hotels on TV. The floors were white marble with black squared shaped lines on the top. Several photo frames with different landscapes were hung on the wall proudly, along with an 'Employee of the month' section with different photos of the employees. Near the end of the hallway was a large black desk, with a young man wearing a nice black and white uniform. Seeing Isshin and Ichigo walk through the doors, the young man smiled.

"Welcome to the Jitaku Kara. Your home away from home. How can I help you?" The employee asked them in a respectful tone.

"I'm here for a friend." Isshin spoke up as he reached the desk, leaning against. "She works here and I called her yesterday to let her know we were coming."

"Okay. Can you please tell me their-" Before the employee could finish his sentence, the door behind him opened, followed by a surprising voice.

"Am I losing my mind or is that Isshin Kurosaki I hear?" A female voice called out as the door opened even more, revealing the speaker. It was a rather large woman who looked around Isshin's age, with peach color skin, grey eyes and medium length brown hair tied in a small ponytail. She wore a rather interesting pink kimono with red chinese dragons on the sides, a red sash around her waist, black sandals with white socks, and a pearl necklace around her neck.

"Inca! How are you, beautiful?!" Isshin called out with a big grin as he extended his arms for a big hug. The woman smiled as she began to walk towards Isshin, slowly reaching for something in her sleeve. Just as Isshin was about to embrace her…

*WHACK*

A wooden stick slammed onto Isshin's forehead, causing him to groan before falling on his back. "I told you to come at twelve, but it's already twelve thirty! Don't you know how busy I am or has Masaki forgotten to tell you that?" The woman shouted, her happy expression changing to that of annoyance. "Honestly, I thought you of all people would understand how important keeping a schedule is to a business owner. Next time, I won't be so merciful."

'What the hell is even going on?' Ichigo thought with a sweatdrop. One minute, Isshin and this woman were happy to see each other, yet the next, she was scolding him about time. Then again, Isshin was an idiot who most likely deserved it. The woman then noticed Ichigo looking at her, making him jump a bit before he raised a hand. "Ummm, hi." Narrowing her eyes, the woman moved fast for someone of her size, reaching Ichigo's personal space. Despite being a few inches shorter than him, the woman's gaze made the former Soul Reaper a bit awkward.

"So… you're little Ichigo, aren't you?" The woman asked in a serious tone, getting a nod from Ichigo. She then reached about.. And began squeezing his cheeks with a smile. "Oh my, you've gotten so big since the last time I saw you! You definitely have your mother's eyes and a bit of your father's face, don't you?"

"Can… you… not… do that?" Ichigo said while pulling her hands off his cheeks, allowing him to rub them with an annoyed expression. "And when did you see me?"

"When you were a little baby, I came to visit your dad and mom. You were one of the cutest babies I've ever seen!" The woman cooed as she recalled the memory. "And your cheeks were so chubby, I couldn't help but squeeze them." The more this woman talked, the more uneasy Ichigo felt about her. It was like she was the aunt he never knew about.

"Who is she?" Ichigo asked Isshin, who sat up while rubbing his red forehead.

"Ichigo, this is Inca Ito. She's the owner of this whole building and a woman with the shortest temper I ever-"

*SMACK*

Inca threw her wooden stick at Isshin, striking his forehead yet again as blood shot out of it, making him fall on his back. "I still can't believe Masaki would marry an idiot like you. She always did have other options." Inca said with an irritated tone before she smiled sweetly at Ichigo. "But like he said, I'm the owner of this proud building and best friend to your mother. I have to say…" She gave Ichigo a knowing smile while taking in his appearance. "You've grown up to be quite the handsome young man, Ichigo. I'm willing to bet all the girls want you, am I right?" Ichigo looked a bit put off by her words before he frowned. He wasn't some type of womanizer who would go out with every girl in his school. Hell, the only date he had ever been on was with Tatsuki when they were kids, and it ended with him getting a karate kick to the jaw! "Morty, I'll personally take these two to their room."

"Yes madam. Would you like some help with your bags, sir?" The employee known as Morty asked Ichigo, who shook his head.

"Come with me, Ichigo. Oh, and please stand up, Isshin. It's not professional for someone to die on my floor." Inca told Isshin without any concern for his injury. Grumbling to himself, Isshin picked himself up and followed the two to the elevator. Pressing the number six, Inca watched as the elevator doors closed, lifting her and the other two up. "So, what do you think of Academy City so far?"

"It's a lot different from Karakura, that's for sure." Ichigo confessed with a hand in his pocket.

"I should've known you would say that." Inca giggled a bit before looking at Isshin. "And what about your daughters? Is someone watching them?"

"Don't worry about them. One of Ichigo's friends is watching them for tonight. I won't stay for long." Isshin responded, not looking at her. Inca huffed a bit before she turned away, leaving Ichigo rather confused.

'Please don't tell me these two actually dated.' Ichigo thought with a groan. He was not ready to deal with any love triangle crap like the ones on American TV. Luckily, the quiet tension didn't last as the three finally reached the sixth floor. The hallway itself was simple: red carpet lined up the floor, yellow wallpaper with flowers in the design decorated the walls, and several doors were lined up accordingly.

"Your room number is F10." Inca informed Ichigo as she led him and Isshin down the hallway to the door on the far right. Taking out a small key, Inca inserted it inside the lock before turning it, allowing it to open. "Come in." She then gestured to the other two to walk in, which they did.

The room itself wasn't anything too big. It wasn't anything special: wood flooring, a sizable 32 inch television sitting on a black stand, a small brown coffee table, a simple brown couch with a light stand next to it, a reasonably small kitchen and a small welcome mat in the front.

"It isn't much, but it's a lot better than some of those rundown motels filled with roaches and rats." Inca spoke up with a proud smile. "The TV has fifty channels for you to watch and a small DVD player in case you want to watch a movie. There's also two bathrooms: one on the left and the other inside the bedroom. We like to keep our rooms as clean as possible, so if you need any cleaning services, the number is on the wall. Also, we do like to ask our guests if they can smoke in the balcony so the fire alarm won't go off. Although I trust you haven't picked up on your father's smoking habits. There's also another matter…" Inca gave Ichigo a serious look. "You might be staying here for free, don't think we'll hold your hand all the way. You're almost an adult, so you should know how to take care of yourself. That means shopping for food, making sure to keep up on your studies, and especially washing your clothes."

"And since Yuzu isn't here, you'll have to learn how to cook. Just don't burn down the building, okay son?" Isshin jokes with a cheeky smile as he slapped Ichigo's shoulder, getting a glare from said person. "I know you wanna get your things unpacked, so me and Inca'll leave you alone for now. See ya at dinner!" Before anyone could say anything, Isshin wrapped an arm around Inca and gently pushed her out of the apartment, leaving Ichigo alone with his things.

"Whatever." Ichigo told himself with a shrug before he took one look at his new accommodations and nodded. "Okay, this can work." It wasn't too fancy for Ichigo's taste and true to the name of the building, it felt like a home away from home. "Might as well get my things out." Picking up his suitcase, as well as Urahara's case, Ichigo made his way to the bedroom. It was nice all things considered. The bed was the same size as the one back home and it was against the end of the room, a large window over it, a closet on the other side and an oak dresser. Ichigo placed his things on the bed, rolling his shoulder a bit. "Okay, Hat and Clogs. Let's see what you packed me. It better not be a damn prank." Reaching for the latches, Ichigo flicked them open…

… Only for the case to open itself up.

"FINALLY! I was starting to suffocate in there! You know how hard it is to move in that thing?! I felt my stuffing was about to rip!"

Ichigo blinked a few times, trying to clear his vision so he wasn't seeing things. Yet when he rubbed his eyes, he realized he wasn't hallucinating. The being speaking out in a rant was a yellow sentient bird-shaped plushie with a blue hooded coat, a small amount of orange hair coming out of the hood, a red bowtie and little blue boots.

"Seriously, the next time I see Urahara, I'm gonna punch his stupid grin right off his face!" The plushie shouted while punching the air a few times to prove her point. She then stopped while looking at Ichigo. "Well? Aren't you going to say something?"

"Ririn? Is that really you?" Ichigo questioned with a dumbfound tone. Of all the things Kisuke would have packed for him, he was not expecting one of the Bount detectors to be inside.

"Of course it's me. Don't you remember this is the body you chose for me?" Ririn, the only female of the three Bount detectors, said confidently with her hands on her hips. "Is that all you can say after all this time? You're as rude as ever." Truth be told, she was extremely happy to see Ichigo once again. He and her were partners against the Bounts, so it was only natural they would grow close.

"What the hell are you even doing here? Did Kisuke send you?" Ichigo asked, getting over his surprise.

"Yup. He thought you could use some supervision while you're here." Ririn said with a smile as she raised her head proudly. "And he chose me because of how smart and amazing I am." Ichigo just looked at her with a flat expression, getting her to sweatdrop before huffing. "Okay. He couldn't choose which one of us to go, so me, Kurodo and Noba played rock, paper, scissors and I won."

"That makes more sense." Ichigo said with a sigh, getting a glare from Ririn. And here he was, ready to live alone in peace. Then again, it would be worse with Kon. Speaking of Kon… "Hang on, where's Kon?"

"How should I know? I saw Urahara drag him to his lab to do some experiments or whatever and I haven't seen him since." Ririn said with an uncaring shrug of her shoulders. "I wouldn't worry about him. We both know he wouldn't kill Kon."

"Good point." Ichigo said, though his eyes did soften at the mention of the perverted Mod Soul. As much as Kon annoyed him, especially when he took control of his body, Ichigo still felt fond of the bastard. "Anyways, you know what he packed for me?"

"A little. Why don't you check it out?" Ririn said while hoping out of the case, landing on the bed. Ichigo kneeled in front of the case to look at the contents inside. He reached inside and pulled out the first item: a white flip phone. "He said that phone would help you detect any unordinary Reishi in the area. Then again, you have me, so you might not even need to use it."

"Yeah, sure. I'll have a talking bird doll on my shoulder, telling me where to go." Ichigo responded with heavy sarcasm in his voice. He reached inside and pulled out the second object: a thick brown metal wrist cuff bracelet. "The hell?"

"Urahara said you need to put that on your right wrist." Ririn explained while pointing at his wrist. As confused as he was, Ichigo followed her instructions and attached the bracelet on his right wrist, feeling it up.

"Okay, what does it do?" Ichigo asked Ririn, only for her to smile.

"Flick your wrist." Ririn instructed simply as she did a similar gesture. Ichigo just sighed before he stood up and looked at his wrist.

'It better not be a trick.' Ichigo thought before he flicked his wrist.

But the moment he did… something unexpected happened.

The bracelet suddenly split in half, forming what could only be described as a sword hilt that Ichigo grabbed with his right hand. "What the?!" Before he could finish… a blade suddenly shot out of the hilt, the size being approximately four and a half feet tall. "WHAT?!"

"Say hello to your new sword, Ichigo." Ririn told him with an interested tone as she stared at the blade. "So this is what Urahara's been working on for the past month."

"Wait, you knew he would make me a sword?! Why the hell would he do that?!" Ichigo shouted as he stared at the weapon in his hand. It was definitely different from the Zanpakuto he had seen and its weight wasn't much of an issue. If anything, it was impressive that Kisuke was able to hide something like this inside of a bracelet.

"Since you don't have any powers, you need some way to protect yourself." Ririn explained with a soft expression. "None of us want you to get hurt, so Urahara made this sword for you. Apparently, it can help you block Esper powers. I'm not too sure about it, but it's not a bad idea to have it with you." Ichigo did have some problems with having a weapon in Academy City, especially since it was most likely illegal to have a sword in public. However, it did make sense that Urahara would make something to help Ichigo against the Espers.

"Alright, fine. I'll hang onto it." Ichigo finally said with a defeated sigh. "So… how do I-"

"Just pull your wrist back." Ririn said, knowing what Ichigo was saying. Following her instructions, Ichigo pulled his wrist back. The blade on the sword suddenly began to fold until it reentered the hilt. The hilt then crawled down Ichigo's hand until it formed the bracelet again, wrapping around his wrist.

"I still don't get how he was able to do this." Ichigo confessed before he looked at the case. There were a few trinkets here and there, but the thing that caught his attention were the small packet of pink balls in a small box. "Is this candy?"

"No, silly. It's my Gigai!" Ririn said with a sense of superiority in her tone. "Actually, they're portable Gigai that Urahara was able to make for us so we won't have to run away just to put them on. Just blow in the ball and my Gigai will pop out any time you need my help!"

"... That sounds really wrong." Ichigo told her bluntly, but he pocketed the portable Gigai regardless. It would be useful if Ririn could help him out in the event he needed her illusion powers. Closing the case and putting it on the floor, Ichigo laid back on the bed, looking at the ceiling.

"So… how've you been?" Ririn asked in a shy tone, trying to start another conversation with Ichigo.

"Good, I guess. Still can't believe I'm here." Ichigo confessed while running a hand on his face. However, his eyes soon widened as he sat up. "Crap. Ikumi's sister!" Ririn was caught off guard when Ichigo began emptying his backpack of anything he didn't need. Once he did, he stood up and checked the time.

"What's up? You have somewhere you have to be? School doesn't start for another month!" Ririn told him, clearly confused by the look of urgency on his face.

"Sorry. I've gotta go meet my new boss. I'll be back in a little while." Ichigo told her as he ran towards the door, but no before looking back at her. "And DON'T leave the apartment." And with that, Ichigo exited his new home, leaving a pouting Ririn.

"Sheesh, what a jerk. He could've at least brought me with him." Ririn complained before sighing. "Oh well. Wonder what's on TV?"

'Present time'

Having dealt with the thugs that got in his way and FINALLY getting some much needed directions, Ichigo finally arrived at the place he would be working at for the time being and needless to say, it was quite hard to find.

"This is the place." Ichigo said as he stared at the building in front of him. The building itself was a restaurant known for its coffee and desserts, hence why it was called 'Joseph's Coffee and Restaurant.' The walls were light orange and it had several large pictures of food and specials on the windows. Overall, it gave off a 'family friendly' vibe. "I bet Orihime and Tatsuki would love to come to a place like this." Figuring he shouldn't waste anymore time, Ichigo decided to walk inside, opening the doors.

"Hello, sir. Can I get you a table?" One of the hosts asked Ichigo politely, wearing a rather colorful outfit.

"Um, no. I'm actually looking for Kagura Unagiya. She's my boss' sister and I was told to meet her for a job." Ichigo explained, getting a nod of understanding.

"Oh, okay. Let me go get her. Please sit down and wait." The host asked while gesturing to a small bench on the side for customers to wait for their table. Ichigo complied and sat down while the host went to get Kagura. As he waited, the orange haired teen began examining the layout of the restaurant. He could see a large majority of the patrons were around his age range eating at the tables, chatting amongst themselves. It didn't look like a bad place for him to work at for now, as long as nothing crazy happened.

"Sorry to keep you waiting, mister Kurosaki."

"It's no pro-" Ichigo turned his head to look at the speaker, only to gasp in complete shock. "Ikumi?!

The person he was talking to indeed had the same face as his boss back in Karakura town, only she wore a blue and white uniform and she had a mole under her right eye. Hearing the name, she giggled a bit in her hand.

"Oh, you think I'm my sister, don't you? I get that a lot." The Ikumi look alike said with a hint of amusement in her voice before she bowed. "I'm Kagura Unagiya, Ikumi's twin sister. Didn't she mention we were twins?"

"No, she didn't." Ichigo muttered with a flat expression. He swore he could hear his boss laughing in the back of his mind. "Anyways, it's nice to meet you. Sorry not coming sooner."

"That's alright. I know Academy City's large compared to Karakura Town." Kagura told him sweetly before she motioned him to follow. Standing up from the bench, Ichigo followed her to one of the empty seats in the restaurant. "Ikumi told me you were transferring to Ogama high school this semester, which means you'll be busy for most of the week. Because of that, I think the best times for you to work are the night shifts and the weekend. Is that an issue?"

"No it isn't. But what would I be doing? No offense, but I'm not much of a cook." Ichigo admitted while sheepishly scratching the back of his head.

"Oh, I'm not hiring you as a chef." Kagura explained while giggling again. "Tell me, how are your social skills?"

"They're fine, I guess." Ichigo answered with some confusion in his voice.

"Since you're used to helping with different odd jobs, I think the best position for you is as a host. You know, showing people to their tables, taking their orders, etc. Would that be alright?" Kagura asked Ichigo, who gave her a simple nod. "Wonderful! Though, I might ask for your help in a few other tasks. Is that also fine?"

"Sure. Would I need any training?" Ichigo questioned.

"Of course. In fact, if it's alright with you, we can start your training this week. We don't want my sister to think you're slacking off." Kagura lightly joked with a smile, though Ichigo's face did lose the color on his face. "I am sorry if my sister scared you. She's always been the more violent one."

'No kidding.' Ichigo thought before he shook his head. "Is there anything I can help you with now?"

"That's sweet, but you just got to Academy City." Kagura told him. "Why not spend today looking around and tomorrow, we can get started? It wouldn't hurt to explore." Ichigo found her words to be logical, though he would have to make sure not to lose track of time again to avoid being late for his new job. Both Kagura and Ichigo stood up before giving each other a hand shake. "Have a nice rest of your day, mister Kurosaki. And please be here at nine o'clock."

"I will." Ichigo responded with a nod before he walked out of the restaurant. He was glad that his first meeting with Kagura went better than he expected, and she seemed to be more level headed than Ikumi, which was always a plus.

Still, what the hell was he going to do now?

*BOOM*

An explosion rang in that instant, followed by the sound of a bell alarm. "What the hell?" Ichigo said to himself as he saw a small among of black smoke in the distance. His eyes narrowed before he began running towards the direction. Maybe it was just his instincts kicking in, but he felt that if something big was going done, people might need help. 'Dammit, I knew today wasn't going to be easy.' It took Ichigo a matter of a few minutes to finally reach where the smoke was coming from. From where he was standing, he could see several men, each wearing bandanas over their mouths to hide their faces, running away with bags in their hands. It was obvious that a robbery was taking place.

"Stop right there!" Ichigo heard a young girl call out while standing in front of the thugs. She seemed to be quite young, perhaps twelve, with tawny hair tied into two curly pigtails, with the rest of her hair left to hang as two rows of fringes divided in the middle and red eyes. She wore a light tan sweater vest with a white button up shirt underneath, a black skirt, red shoes with white socks inside and a green and white armband on her right arm with a shield-like symbol on it. "I am a Judgement officer and I am placing you under arrest for destruction of property and bank robbery."

'She's arresting them?' Ichigo thought with a dumbfounded expression. The girl was much smaller than those thugs, yet she thought she could take them? Even if she had powers, it was still a bit of an unfair fight.

"HAHAHAHA!" The thugs began laughing at the young girl, holding their stomachs.

"You hear this shrimp?!"

"Man, Judgement must be short-staffed to bring rugrats like her!"

Annoyed by their mockery, the girl began to walk towards them, something the robbers noticed.

"You should go somewhere else to play, kid." The biggest of the three told her. "Or you can get hurt!" With that, he charged at her, fully intent on taking her down. Ichigo's eyes widened as he saw this, his legs beginning to move on their own. However, his concern was short lived as the girl boredly dodged the big man's punch, kicking his leg and twisting his wrist before he was flipped to the ground, landing on his back with a loud thud.

"You're not much of a professional, are you?" The girl asked rhetorically with a hand on her hip. Ichigo had to admit she had some skills. In a way, it reminded him of Tatsuki.

"Stupid little brat…" Another of the robbers muttered before he opened his palm, creating a small fireball. "It's too late to back down now, girlie. Now, I'm gonna turn you to ash!"

'A pyrokinetic?' The girl thought before she began running the opposite direction.

"Hey, are you running?!" The fire user shouted before launching a fireball towards her.

"Who said I was running?" The girl mocked. Just as the fireball was about to hit her… she disappeared.

"Huh?!" Was all the fire user could say before the girl reappeared behind him, drop kicking the back of his head, causing him to fall face first on the ground. "A teleporter?" To add insult to injury, the girl landed in front of him and lifted her skirt a bit, revealing two brown straps with several metal darts in them. The girl waved her hand over them, causing the darts to disappear and reappear over the robber, pinning his clothes against the ground.

'Woah, that was like a Flash Step. Except she can teleport other things.' Ichigo thought with an impressed expression on his face. This was the first time he actually witnessed Esper abilities being used. They were similar to some techniques back in the Soul Society. However, he got over his observation when he saw one of the robbers run off… towards a little kid. 'Crap!' Ichigo decided it wasn't the time to stand by as he began running towards the robber.

"Hey, let me go!" The kid shouted at the man as he attempted to free him.

"Shut up! You're coming with me!" The robber yelled at the boy before roughly pulling him towards a white car. If he was going to escape, he would need some leverage and there was no way Judgement or Anti Skill would sacrifice a kid.

"Hey!" The robber turned his head to see who was calling him out…

*POW*

Only to get a hard fist to the cheek, causing him to fall on the ground. Ichigo stood over the robber, giving him a deep glare. "You really think you can use a kid as a shield? Bastards like you deserve to go to jail." Ichigo told him with a harsh tone.

"You… little PUNK!" The robber pulled out a knife and stood up, ready to stab Ichigo. He could hear someone yelling "LOOK OUT!' in the background, but he ignored it. 'If there's one thing that I kept in my time as a Soul Reaper besides my Combat Pass…' Just as the robber thrusted his knife towards Ichigo's chest, he grabbed the robber's hand, the knife behind caught between his fingers. Pulling the robber close, Ichigo then punched him hard in the air, knocking him completely out cold. 'It's the reflexes and physical training I went through. It's a good thing it came in handy now.'

"Woah… that was so cool!" The boy next to Ichigo called out with wide eyes.

"You okay?" Ichigo asked him, making sure to see if the boy was injured in any way. Smiling, the boy shook his head. "Good. You should get out of here be-"

*WOOSH*

Ichigo let out a gasp of pain as an invisible source suddenly slammed against his chest, sending him flying in the air before landing on his back. "Mister!" The boy shouted in concern as he kneeled in front of Ichigo, who held his stomach in pain. "Are you okay?"

'W-What the hell was that? It felt like a damn brick hit my gut.' Ichigo thought in pain, holding his stomach. He didn't see where it came from, and it hurt like a bitch.

"I told those idiots not to go without me, yet here they are." An annoyed voice called out from the distance. Ichigo pushed himself on his elbows to stare at whoever attacked him. Walking towards him while smoking a cigar was a rather large coat, a cowlick hairstyle and several rings on his fingers. He sucked in some smoke from his cigar before blowing it. "Oh well, it's my fault for not watching them. Sorry about hurting ya, kid. But I've got work to do. I hope you understand that." Ichigo gritted his teeth as he began to push himself up, though the pain kept him down. One of the cons of being fully human again.

'I don't have enough darts to stop him.' The pigtailed girl thought with a frustrated tone. Her eyes widened as the man thrust his fist towards her, launching compressed air towards him. She quickly teleported away from him, causing his attack to hit a nearby wall. The man didn't stop as he continued to launch more air fists, forcing those nearby to find cover.

'Dammit… I can't do anything.' Ichigo thought in frustration as he ducked down to dodge another air fist. How the hell was he going to fight someone who can punch the air and send it flying? If he had his powers, this fight would be over in a second. He noticed some of the man's attacks were striking a bus that was being Ichigo, scaring several other kids nearby. 'No. I have to… I have to do something.' Taking a deep breath, Ichigo stood back on his feet, glaring at the man in front of him. "You really… can't fight… one on one… can you?"

"Oh? You got guts, kid. Not a lot of level zeroes can stand up to my attacks." The man complimented before smirking. "But I promise this next one will knock you out for good!" With that, the leader of the robbers began concentrating wind into his right hand, pulling it back as he prepared to strike.

"Mister, run!" The kid called out, trying to help Ichigo get out of the way. However, the orange haired resident of Karakura ignored the boy as he clenched his fist. It was at this moment that he remembered what he was wearing: the bracelet.

'Kisuke, this thing better work.' Ichigo thought as he looked at the accessory/hidden weapon. He was hoping the sword would help him against this. Either it did or he would be paying a trip to the hospital.

"Air Shot." The man said before punching forward. Ichigo opened his wrist, causing the sword to slowly form in his hand.

"LOOK OUT!"

*CLANG*

Ichigo closed his eyes tightly as he swung his sword down. However, he felt his hand shake as he felt something hit his sword. Slowly opening his eyes, Ichigo widened them in pure shock.

His sword was actually HOLDING the compressed air in place. Of course, the weapon itself was shaking due to holding the attack in place, but other than that, Ichigo seemed completely unharmed. 'So this is what Kisuke meant. It's actually blocking the attack.' Ichigo thought in genuine shock, amazed by the genius invention in his hands. Everyone around him, including the boss, all gasped in shock and awe.

"How the hell are you blocking my Air Shot?! No one's been able to do that!" The boss shouted in anger before he punched the air once again, shooting more compressed air at Ichigo. Yet all it did was push Ichigo back a little as he held his ground.

'I can't hold it all day. I need… to… push it… back!' Ichigo thought before holding the sword tighter. With his iconic battle cry, Ichigo began walking forward, each step echoing under him.

"Get back… GET BACK!" Feeling a bit frantic, the boss began throwing even more air punches at Ichigo. Every time he was pushed back, he stepped forward. It was like he was more machine than man at this point!

"HYAHHHHH!" Stomping on the ground hard, Ichigo slashed his sword upwards, causing it to cut through the air attacks, sending them flying harmlessly in the air. He panted a bit as he lowered his sword, his hand shaking a bit. It was clear that his sword skills were rusty and pushing back such a strong attack affected his grip.

"I don't know who the hell you are, kid." The boss growled in anger. "But I swear you're gonna crush you, that little kid, and that short Judge-"

*ZAP*

A bolt of electricity suddenly shot past Ichigo's left shoulder, blasting the man. He howled in pain before falling on his ass.

"I think you've caused enough trouble for today." A new female voice spoke up from behind Ichigo. Even as he caught his breath, Ichigo was able to turn his head to see who it was that attacked the air user. The person was a female that was two years older than the teleporter, with chestnut brown hair and matching colored eyes. She wore a similar outfit to the girl with pigtails, only she had a small hair clip on the right side of her hair. As soon as she walked past Ichigo, she glanced at him, then his sword. "That's a strange weapon you have. Let me finish this."

"But… who are…" Ichigo couldn't finish as he fell on one knee, still holding his stomach. There was likely a bruise under his shirt, and just as he was about to start training at Joseph's. The brown haired girl casually reached into her pocket and pulled out an arcade token.

"You really shouldn't worry about Sissy." The Teleporter said while appearing next to Ichigo, a confident smirk on her face. "She's one of the most powerful Espers of the twenty three million people in the city." The brown haired girl then flicked the token in the air. "Out of the seven level five Espers in Academy City, she'd ranked third."

"Level fives?" Ichigo questioned in confusion as he stared at the girl in front of him.

"I'll blow you away!" The aur user then punched the air with both his fists, launching a large gust of compressed air. However, the brown haired girl merely narrowed her eyes as she aimed her hand at the man, her thumb in a flicking position. Electricity suddenly began to course out of her arm just as the token reached her thumb.

And then she flicked it.

*BOOM*

The moment she did, the token was launched forward in a thin orange beam of energy, followed by a powerful gust of wind shooting behind the girl. Ichigo and the Teleporter quickly crossed their arms to avoid any dust in their eyes. The beam was so strong, it began breaking the ground under it as it clashed with the wind user's attack, effortlessly breaking through it. "OH SHI-!" Was all the boss could say before the attack struck him, engulfing him in an explosion.

"Railgun. Mikoto Misaka. My Sissy." The Teleporter said in a louder tone due to the large explosion, though she spoke with a dreamy way. "The pride and joy of Tokiwadai Middle School. The ultimate, unstoppable shock princess."

"Yeah… no kidding." Ichigo muttered as he stared at this Mikoto girl's work. With that an arcade token, she was able to break through that bastard's wind attacks AND knock him out. "Are you sure he's not dead?"

"Of course he's not." The girl known as Mikoto said, hearing Ichigo's claim with a frown as she jabbed her thumb at where the wind user stood. True to her word, he was in fact alive… albeit, with more than a few burns and shock marks. The fact that he was moaning while twitching at least gave them a sign that he was fine. "So…" Both girls looked at Ichigo's sword, something he noticed.

"Would you mind telling us what THAT is?"

Okay… before all of you start writing in the reviews about how BS it is for Ichigo to get a weapon like this, let me explain.

It's not CANCELLING Esper powers like Touma's Imagine Breaker. As you read, it can reflect powers that hit the blade. More of the blade's design will be explained in the next chapter since I am exhausted with this one.

The inspiration for the Fold Sword came from both the game Dishonored(one of my favorite game series) and the Grass Sword from Adventure Time. Having a weapon that could fold out from a small shape seemed much more useful than Ichigo carrying a sword in a sheath everywhere. Unless he's given special permission, the bracelet will have to do. And given how much of a genius Kisuke is, I don't have any doubts he would actually make a sword like this in his free time. That's just me.

I hope this was a good enough follow up to the last chapter. Yes, there was a lot of talking and exposition, which can be boring. But it does lead up to the Railgun series. The reason I chose Ririn to come with Ichigo instead of Kon is because I can see her being more useful than Kon(which sucks since the first episode he was introduced in, he was kind of a badass). Don't worry, later on, we might see the lion plushie pervert, most likely when Ichigo gets his powers back.

Before you ask: yes, Inca and Kagura are OCs(which I am aware some people hate), and they will have some minor roles, but it won't take away from the main plot. And I HAVEN'T forgotten about Yoruichi. We will learn about how she is next time, I promise.

Again, if you guys have some ideas for how this story can progress, I'm all ears.
