This is a completely original story with a twist, of course. I do not own any rights to Highschool DXD but will use the characters and most of the same storyline but include some new characters; of course, it will be a harem story but wait and find out with who.

Prologue

Death is only natural, but sometimes a cruel thing can happen. At the age of 5, a young Issei Hyoudou lost both his parents, but how they died was never revealed; for a confused boy, he was left with his Grandparents to bring him up and look after him.

Looking over their graves, Issei promised he would be a good boy and grow up to be someone they would be proud of. While the Grandparents looked at him in awe with tears coming down their eyes, they also promised they would teach him the ways of protection and make sure he studied well.

Over the next couple of years, Issei was getting taught not only ways of the sword but also archery to help him gain the focus and drive he needed; It helped him in his studies and his want to look after his grandparents when he got older so he can repay the kindness they gave him.

"Hey, Oji-san, fancy a game of Chess or Shogi?" Said the young boy

"Hohoho, you think you will be able to take me this time, my boy." Replied his Oji-san

"Today, you bet I will show you how much I have improved," Issei replied while giggling nonstop.

"OK, my boy, chess it is. Let's see how well you improved," Oji-san replied.

After a couple of hours, Issei has been defeated yet again.

"Ahh, I thought I had you this time," Issei said while pouting.

"Issei, it's OK, but you have improved," says Oji-san, laughing then a smile.

"Do you think?" Asked Issei While tilting his head to the side with a clueless look.

"Yeah, you have now, my boy. Have you finished all your homework for school?" Ask Oji-san.

"Yep, I had most of it done before the end of school. I even brought home a book about the mythical dragons of Japan. I was drawn to it and came to an interesting one about Ryujin." Said Issei.

"Ho, now that's interesting Ryujin is a respected but also feared dragon as they could change their attitude with a swift instance if not careful." Said Oji-san

"Really, wow, I did see that they helped out with crops and the tides being under the water element," says Issei.

"Yes, ancestors thought of the dragon as a water God, controlling the storms. Anyways, my boy, we need to get ready for your Grandma will have both are behinds for being late to go to Ise Jingū," Said Oji-san.

"I don't want to remember what happened last time," Issei remembers.

Flashback

Issei and his Grandad got to work up in a game of shogi, not realizing what time it was; when suddenly *Wack, Wack* both Issei and his Grandad said ouch while rubbing their heads with their hands, seeing an Annoyed Grandma pointing at her watch. Both looked at the time and then said in sync we're sorry, with heads down on the floor, knowing what would happen when they got home.

End of Flashback

Both Issei and his Grandad laughed as both were thinking the same thing. After they got ready, they visited the shrine and paid their respects to the Goddess Amaterasu. Issei managed to get separated from them in the crowds, but he didn't panic as he knew they would call him on his cell to meet them. While Issei was walking around, he saw a lovely woman with black hair wearing a white and red kimono with a golden obi, looking sad and lonely.

"Onee-chan, are you OK? Would you like some company or help with anything?" Asked Issei out of curiosity.

Issei, not knowing who he was talking to, was being a polite young boy as his parents and grandparents taught him.

"Yes, I am OK, sweetheart. Thank you for asking, are you lost?" Said Amaterasu gasping that she was seen

"No, but I did get separated from my grandparents due to the big crowd; they will ring me on my phone soon to tell me where they are," said Issei while looking at her lovely smile.

'oh my god, so cute' "Well, that's good then, May I ask for your name? Sweetheart?" asked Amaterasu while pointing her hand to her face while tilting.

"Oh yeah, sorry for my rudeness, Onee-chan. My name is Hyoudou Issei." As giving a low bow to her.

"Oh my, what a lovely name, and it's OK you were being so kind worrying about me. You can call me Ama-chan if you like," said Amaterasu while giving Issei a bright smile.

"Thank you, Ama-Onee-chan. Can I keep you company till my grandparents ring me or message me?" Asked Issei

"Of course, you can. I would love that, and you can also tell me about yourself if you like," Said Amaterasu.

Issei then tells Amaterasu about his life and how he came to live with his grandparents as well as his studies at school; being shocked but also feeling happy about how well he had been brought up made her smile even more, but one thing did bug her, and that was how Issei was able to see her as most humans or children his age shouldn't be able to with her particular barrier up.

'Hmm, I wonder if he has a gift to be able to see me and enter my barrier,' Amaterasu was thinking.

While Amaterasu was thinking, Issei's phone rang. His grandparents told him if they were waiting for him at the Torii gate entrance to the shrine to meet them there to nod and say OK on the phone, then put the phone back into his pocket.

"Well, I got to go now, Ama-Onee-chan. Thank you for the cup of tea. I hope I can see you again soon," said Issei as he bowed and warmly smiled after coming back up.

"You're most welcome. I would like that very much, so be safe and keep studying hard," said Amaterasu while giving him a lovely smile.

While Issei waves her off and disappears, she suddenly uses magic to talk to Yasaka, the Yokai Leader, and explain what happened.

Meanwhile…

Issei is walking home with his Grandparents when someone charged at them without warning; lucky his Oji-san had a Bokken with him from what he got from the shrine for Issei to train with and quickly used it to delay the attacker, to which he told his wife and Issei to run and lock up.

They quickly got home and locked up just in case. While his Oba-san did that, Issei went into his room and got his old worn Bokken and his bow just in case and waited as he would defend his Oba-san as a temporary man of the house rule.

That's when his Oji-san came back and was bleeding and told them we needed to pack and move before more attackers came.

Back to Amaterasu

With Yasaka at her residency, she is currently being told about Amaterasu's encounter with the young boy and nodding and listening to all the details.

"Ama-chan, I would say next time you see him try and use senjutsu and see if you can detect any hidden powers as he might become a great ally in the future for us or maybe more," replied Yasaka.

"OK, Yasaka, I felt some power that attracted me the more I was near him. Still, it's the not knowing what it was that's putting me on edge, with the possibility he might get targeted by hidden forces," said Amaterasu.

"I know what you mean. We will need to keep an eye on the Himejima and Shinra clans. I heard there'd been a lot of unrest since both had problems with ex-clan family members, One was a mother who killed and hunted their daughter, and the other got given away as she was scared of her power." Yasaka said.

"I might have to check on him since I got an idea where he lives from our talk," said Amaterasu while in thought. 'I hope he's OK. I do get a bad feeling about this.'

"OK, keep me posted, Ama-chan," Yasaka said, ending the magic circle to her ear.

Amaterasu then teleported near the Hyoudou residency and found it been emptied but also looked like a fight had taken place also, but no good sign of dead bodies, but I can sense a bit of ancient magic used by the Shinra clan 'hmmm, this is interesting for Shinra clan to attack this area.' Amaterasu thought.

Then in the corner of her eye, she saw a book about Ryujin, but what was odd was a little bit of paper sticking out of it; she picked it up and took the form, which had a note on her with a shocked expression.

Note on paper

Dear Ama-Oneechan,

Sorry, I can't get to see you again as I said, but as I write this note, I am currently packing with my Grandparents as we were attacked on the way back from your shrine; my Grandad was injured but managed to give us time to load so we can move if you are wondering how I knew you get this note is because I figured out who you was sorry I couldn't explain. Still, my grandparents told me about the supernatural and part the two together. When I saw you, I felt drawn and sensed some pressure around my body. My Grandad said he was related to the famous Kamatari from Ryujin's legend. I was shocked but explained why I was so calm at the same time. Just to let you know, I am fine, and I hope we get to see each other again shortly. At the time, I was moving into the city of Kuoh. They have friendly schools there so don't be sad.

Yours Truly

Hyoudou Issei
