Chapter 2
Time Skip A Week…
After a week at Kuoh Academy, Issei has managed to get fully settled and to enjoy every second as its never a dull day, especially today; Issei is relaxing under a big tree on the hill near the kendo club, watching the two known perverts called Matsuda & Motohama which are currently peeping through a hole and started counting down three..two..one.. now hearing screams coming from the kendo clubroom then now seeing both boys running away from a bunch of girls dressed in kendo gear.
'Hm, I wondered if I can use a slip spell on them one of these days.' Thought Issei.
I sense someone staring at me from the old schoolhouse again. Said Issei.
[I think that's the other heiress called Rias Gremory] Says Ryujin.
Ah, one of the rumored great ladies of Kuoh Academy. I think Akeno was the second. Says Issei.
[Why do humans give stupid titles to people like that] Says Ryujin.
It beats me; I think I might try and make her blush in a second, Said Issei.
Issei suddenly tilts his head to the side to see Rias from the window and winks at her, suddenly seeing her blush and closing the window.
[Bet she didn't expect that] Says Ryujin while both dragons laugh.
Meanwhile…
Rias Sudden closes the window suddenly as her cheeks go crimson from blushing.
"Ara Ara, what's the blushing? Rias did a certain someone catches you staring at him," says Akeno while giggling at Ria's sudden blush.
"Grumbling under her breath, Yeah, it surprised me. Then Coughs to change the subject, anyways, what you think about him," said Rias.
"Truthfully, he's still a mystery, but he can sense us when watching him does make me think he might know about the supernatural," says Akeno.
"Yeah, I did think that…." Says Rias before getting interrupted.
*knock knock*
"Come in," said Rias as she shouted.
"Hey, Rias & Akeno," said Sona while she walked into the room.
"Hey, Sona, you ok?" asked Rias and Akeno in sync
"Yeah, I'm all good, thank you, I just came in to let you know Issei's telling bits about his past, but nothing about the Shinra clan incident," said Sona.
"Oh, that's good. While you're here, do you think Issei knows about the supernatural since he speaks to you and Tsubaki a lot lately?" Asked Rias
"Hmm, I did wonder cause he knows Senjutsu, but it depends how in-depth he is with it," says Sona.
"That explains why he knew I was staring at him," said Rias as she turned crimson again
"Rias, you have to be careful. Might suspect something," said Sona while raising her eyebrows.
"I know. It's just like his aura pulls you to him," said Rias.
"True, but I must admit he is fun to play chess with," says Sona.
"Does he play chess?" Asked Rias
"Yeah, he's pretty good at it; I think we are at 4 - 3 each," says Sona.
"Wow, even I struggle against you," says Rias in a shocked tone.
"It shows you he is very alert and intelligent simultaneously," says Sona while giving off a sly smirk.
Hometime.
Issei is just packing up his things when Tsubaki asks him to come to the Student Council room and nods to agree.
Now wondering what he is being called for. At the front of the door, Tsubaki opens it and shows Issei, then closes the door behind her.
"Hi Kaichou, Everything ok?" Asked Issei
"Hi, Hyoudou-Kun, everything is fine. I just wanted to ask you something if that's ok?" Asked Sona
"Sure, if it's something I can answer, I will be happy to," says Issei while giving a warm smile.
"Well, I was wondering if you know anything about magic?" Asked Sona while placing her hands under her chin.
"Like the street Magicians?" Said Issei while playing dumb
"No, I mean this," says Sona while casting a magic circle.
*Shin*
"Kaichou, I hate to say this, but I thought you were smarter than that to show a casting spell in front of someone like this," said Issei while putting his head into his palm.
"S-So you're aware of the supernatural, I'm guessing?" Asked Sona while being shocked by the response.
"Yes, I know of the supernatural and know you are the heiress of the Sitri clan," said Issei.
"But how did you know that?" Asked Sona
"I can't hide it now, but can you please cast the privacy barrier, as I don't want unwanted people knowing about me?" Asked Issei
"Ok," says Sona as she casts a barrier up.
"I know about the supernatural when I was told about it by my Grandparents when we were packing and moving due to a sudden surprise attack from members of a Shinra clan," said Issei.
"Ah, that explains why you cringed when you heard Tsubaki's family name," said Sona.
"Yes, even though I thought I hid it well as he gives off a small giggle, I guess you like to know why they suddenly attacked us?" Asked Issei
"I know you don't have to tell me, but I would like to know?" Asked Sona
"No worries, as I trust you, I think I hold 2 Sacred Gears, as you call them," said Issei.
"Ah… Wait, did you say 2 Sacred Gears!" Says Sona in shock
"Yes, I did, but I will show you one as I want to keep the other one a secret till the time is right, if that's ok," says Issei with another small giggle coming out.
"Hmm, I rather know both, but I respect your decision," Sona said
"Thank you. It's more for safety reasons, but here" says Issei
*summons Ryujins Sacred Gear*
"This is called Storm Bringer."
*Issei's shoulders and chest get covered by sea blue/green samurai armor*
"Storm Bringer? I never heard of that Sacred Gear before, but I can tell it's powerful and beautiful," asked Sona.
["Thank you, young Sitri," says Ryujun]
"Who is that?" Asked Sona as she suddenly jumped out of her skin and nearly clung to the ceiling.
["I am Ryujin, a Dragon king of this native country"]. Replied Ryujin
"Ryujin, I didn't realize you turned into a Sacred Gear?" Asked Sona
["Well, that's a mystery to me as well. The last thing I remember was enjoying a nice sleep,"] Said Ryujin.
"I have been trying to help solve the mystery, but no luck lately," says Issei.
"I'm sure I'll be able to find out sometime. The only downside is that it would be hard to find if done in the past. Issei, I wondered if you can help me out since you know about the supernatural," says Sona.
*Issei's Sacred Gear disappears as Ryujin goes back inside*.
"Depends in what way?" Asked Issei while having question marks above his head.
"Do you know that I am not the only Heiress of a devil king here?" Said, Sona
"Oh, you mean Gremory-Senpai?" Said Issei
"Oh, so you do know, She's the president of the Occult Research Club or ORC for short," says Sona.
"Ok, so I'm guessing it involves her someway?" Asked Issei
"Yes, sadly, I wondered when you would help out in a way?" Asked Sona
"I don't mind, but what's her problem?" Asked Issei
"Sadly, I can't say at the moment. Please forgive me," said Sona.
"Ah, that's fair enough," said Issei.
"I wondered if you care to have a spar and see how strong you are, if that's ok?" Asked Sona
"What is here? Wouldn't that cause a problem?" Said Issei
"No, I have a secret underground training room at my home, so I can do it there but need to teleport. I want to see how strong you are and maybe help in some training," says Sona as she gives a polite giggle at Issei's response
"Hmm… I like the sound of that as I actually wanted to test a new skill and had nowhere to practice without being noticed or damaging the surrounding area," said Issei.
"Now that's concerning. May I ask whose side you are on?" Asked Sona as she lifted her eyebrow in response
"I am currently neutral as I prefer to have peace, but I feel I might get dragged into conflict at some point; if I do, I will decide on the matter. I hope you can understand," Issei replied.
"No, that's fair. I rather not be enemies either as I get along with you, which I don't usually do," says Sona.
"I can understand that to be fair, you have a territory to worry about and student council jobs, too," says Issei.
"At least someone gets it. So when would you like to go as we can go now if you want?" Asked Sona while laughing.
"Let me message my Grandma saying I am staying behind a bit to help out around the school," says Issei.
"No worries, I let the barrier down now since we are not discussing private matters now," said Sona.
"Ok, quickly sending a message on his phone, well that's sent, so I am free whenever you are ready, Kaichou," says Issei.
"Ok, you know you can call me Sona when in private matters since we are friends," says Sona as she gives a small smile.
"Ok, Sona-kun, you can call me Issei if you like," Issei smiled back at her.
*Teleportation activates*
"Here you go, Issei-kun. This is a dimension field designed for my peers and me to do training, so it can handle a lot of power as long as it isn't god level, of course," said Sona.
"Wow, it's so bright in here. Ok, Sona-Kun, I am ready for the test. When you are," said Issei giving a mischievous smirk.
"Don't regret it later, Issei-Kun says," Sona smirked back at him.
Both Sona and Issei started battling, Sona using water spells and barriers to stop incoming attacks. Issei used the techniques he learned with the sword and senjutsu to either dodge or attacked the incoming attacks from Sona. Then Issei used his mirage skill to get some distance to try the storm arrow attack he wanted to try.
*Storm Arrow* shouted Issei
As Issei used his attack, Sona only noticed it at the last second before trying to block it with a barrier, but because it was fast, the wall was incomplete and got hit with it. Sona was left Stunned by the electricity, but her water abilities had been nullified.
"Ouch, Hmm, how did you manage to nullify my water abilities? what kind of attack was that, Issei?" Asked Sona
"It's the skill I wanted to try. The purpose of the attack was to stun and also disrupt their magic source for a limited amount of time," says Issei
"Wow, that's an unprecedented attack for support use. What elements did you use for it? As I noticed, you said storm arrow?" Asked Sona
"The main element is water but with a low lightning input for the stun effect. Then rest is just imagining the shape and bow. So what did you think of my strength?" Asked Issei
"Fantastic, to be honest, but if your magic front isn't the best, maybe I can help out in that so you can get even more robust inputs and various skills to add with the storm arrow," said Sona.
"That's a good idea. I've been having trouble with magic fronts as I never really had anything to base off apart from the odd barrier or protection spell I learned from a friend," says Issei.
"Ok, we will sort a time we can train with you then if you like and if possible, would you like to train with some of my peerage members? "Asked Sona
"I don't mind, but I wouldn't want to cause any trouble," said Issei.
"No trouble at all, but I guess I can see where you are coming from as not been introduced yet, so maybe just Tsubaki and me," says Sona.
"If that's ok, I will also help you out in whatever way I can, so it's fair for taking the time to teach me more about magic. Well, about time I should head home. Thank you for today, Sona-Kun, and you have my contact info if you need to talk to me," said Issei.
"Ok, let me teleport us back to the student council room then so you can return home said," Sona.
*Teleports back*
"Thank you again, Sona-Kun, and I'll see you tomorrow," said Issei as he waved goodbye to her.
"Bye, Issei-Kun," says Sona waving back to him
"Welcome back, Sona. How did it go?" Asked Tsubaki
"Quite well, he is firm but weak in certain areas. He did agree to train with us and hopefully with the other peerage members in due time," says Sona.
"Oh, that's good then. Do you think Rias will move soon then?" Asked Sona
"I know she keeps looking at him, but I can't tell apart from that, but I also know he hangs out with Kiba a lot, so I'm guessing he is filling Rias in on what he notices. But I tell you what, and Issei isn't stupid. He knows she's been watching him and knows Kiba is with her, so in a way, he's playing a mental game of chess to see who wins the move first," says Sona.
"Really? I never thought he knew about her, but it was shocking he knew about the supernatural and us, to be fair," says Tsubaki.
Meanwhile
Well, that was an exciting evening, says Issei.
[Yeah, and we gained some information. At least the attack worked out perfectly,] said Ryujin.
Just perfect, and Sona did give me ideas to maybe try other elements with it, So maybe combine lightning with ice or something to freeze them to a spot, says Issei.
[Hmm, well, I don't know,] Said Ryujin.
(I would love to see the fire and lightning move. Also, you could be able to learn about other types of fires) Said Ddraig.
Do you mean like what Ama-Oneechan can use? Asked Issei
(Well, hers is Purgatory Flames of hell flames, to be exact) said Ddraig.
Maybe I can ask her about it next time and see if she can teach me, Said Issei.
Issei is nearing his home to find his Grandma waiting outside, which Issei sees and starts smiling and gives her a wave. His Grandma smiles back and returns the lock, but also she has a bit of sadness in her smile as she knows she won't be with him soon as she's planning to move to a hot spring area to help with her joints but doesn't want to take Issei with her.
'Going to be sad when I tell Issei I am moving away soon. I hope he will be ok with this.' thought Ise's Grandma.
Issei just finished eating and is now enjoying a nice bath before heading to sleep. While in the tub, he is thinking about what move to make now as he knows Rias is watching, and the fact Sona knows about him now will make things more exciting and some trouble.
'I wonder what Sona wants me to help Rias with. I'm sure it isn't training. It must be something else… I hope it isn't to join her peerage as I have not spoken to her, so it is weird if I had to join someone. Either try and get my own or join under Sona as she knows about me more' thought Issei.
"Issei, don't fall asleep in the bath, or you will get my slipper thrown at you again," says Ise's Grandma.
"! I did not fall asleep in the bath, don't worry, I was just in a long thought," says Issei.
"I'm just checking as I know what you're like," says Ise's Grandma.
Issei blushing at the response
Issei finishes his bath and is now in his room relaxing on his bed and thinking about when he met Amaterasu again and started training with her and even got to train with her younger brother Susanoo who was a sword-bearer but also able to control the sea and storms like Ryujin, so he was able to learn and combine moves using their powers.
He was going back to when he was ten years old.
Issei was traveling from Kuoh to visit Amaterasu Shrine and hoping to catch the Goddess, so he could catch up with her and see if she remembered him. He got off the train and now heading there by foot. Once he gets outside the shrine entrance, he gets nervous and excited.
*breaths in and out*
'Moment of truth,' thought Issei
As Issei enters the shrine, he starts to see how crowded it is, as it always is this time of year, but then feels a strange atmosphere and knows it is the barrier that prevents people from entering that space. He walks through it like he did when he first encountered Amaterasu, looking for her at each corner until he sees her drinking tea, looking lonely like last time.
"Hi Ama-Oneechan, long time no see," says Issei after he crept up to her.
"Jumping out of her skin and spilling her drink in the process, Who did that," says Amaterasu turning round to see who made her jump.
Issei waves to her while having the biggest grin on his face
"Do I know you? And how did you manage to get inside this barrier?" Asked Amaterasu being cautious and alert.
"Don't you remember me? It's Issei, and I did say that I will try to revisit you," said Issei while giving out a sad pout.
"Issei…. Oh, now I remember. Sorry that it has been a while. You look so grown up now, and I sense something on you like a calming aura," says Amaterasu.
"Oh yeah, I wanted to talk to you about it. I have two Sacred Gears, I think they are called, and I wondered if you could help me understand them better and maybe learn some protection and barrier spells to protect my family?" Asked Issei.
"Wait, you hold 2 Sacred Gears. How is that possible? And can I ask which ones?" Asked Amaterasu
"Well, one is Storm Bringer, and the Other is Called Boosted Gear," says Issei.
"Wait, you possess the Red Dragon Emperor? And I never heard of Storm Bringer. What does that do?" Asked Amaterasu
"Well, Storm Bringer possesses Ryujin. Ddraig is in the other one," said Issei.
"Since when did Ryujin get put into a Sacred Gear? I thought he was asleep at home?" Asked Amaterasu
"Well, that's the last thing he remembers, and he wondered how he got put into one as well, so I'm currently trying to solve that mystery," said Issei.
"I will see what I can find out as well for you. By the way, how is your sword training getting along?" Asked Amaterasu
"Good, thanks, but Grandpa has not been well lately, so I have been helping around the house more now but would love to get even better with the sword," says Issei.
"Well, my younger brother will be here soon. He might be able to help you out in that department, and also, I will be happy to teach you some barrier and protection spells; how long will you be here?" Asked Amaterasu
"The last train back to Kuoh is 6 pm, so all day," said Issei.
After that, Issei meets Susanoo and gets taught many things with the sword and barrier/protection spells from Amaterasu.
Back to Present Day.
'Ah, that was good times. Maybe I can get to spare with Susanoo again when I revisit Amaterasu,' Thought Issei.
After that, Issei finally closes his eyes to sleep and is already planning his summer holiday to visit Amaterasu for more training.
