Chapter 4
So far, it's been two weeks into the summer holidays, and Issei is learning all kinds of spells, from attacks to the defense that includes some advanced barrier kind of magic. Meanwhile, he learned how to restore some energy from the sun and moon, and he was also able to use specific properties to enhance his attacks. Meanwhile, he is battling Susanoo and is far equal in speed and senses, but Susanoo has more power in his attacks, which Issei is learning. All you hear in the background are explosions going off.
*Crescent Moon Slash* Shouted Issei
*Earth Shield* Shouted Susanoo
Both skills collide and make a dust cloud, and Issei sneaks in to try and surprise Susanoo but with no luck.
"I got you now! "Shouts Issei
As swords collide, "I don't think so," creating sparks and craters. "Nice try, Issei. That was an impressive move there, especially with the follow-up attack." Says Susanoo
"Thanks, but I think I still need a bit more adjusting." Says Issei
"Well, you could always boost your power and even use the penetrate skill from Ddraig to do significant damage if it ever comes to that." Said Susanoo
"True, I did think that, but I'm also utilizing Ryujin's Skills. Too, I believe most of my water and storm attacks are based on his powers. Well, I use Fire related attacks to Ddraig's powers." Said Issei
"Yeah, it's good to have different element skill sets and other abilities to add to them. I like your combination of barrier magic with some of the attacks. Significantly your magic cut off one with the bow. By the way, I meant to ask you how come Amaterasu and Tsukuyomi always seem to be happy and blushing in the mornings?" Asked Susanoo
"Do you seriously want to know?" Asked Issei as he put his face into his palm at the question.
"Yeah, even more now." Said Susanoo
"When I go to sleep, either one decides to use me as a hugging pillow." Says Issei as he shivers.
"I see that makes sense, and I guess they're pretty much naked then?" Asks Susanoo
"Yep, as much as I love seeing naked women, I just do not expect the goddess to do it and hug me." Said Issei
"Laughing in that response, I can see why but you are unique, though, Issei. I have never seen both of them so happy they are usually either serious or pretty much asleep. Ok, let's take a break, so give yourself a soak, and while you do that, I'll go and get them books for you about the five clans." Says Susanoo
"Hai could do with a nice soak. My shoulders feel a bit stiff after that battle, and hopefully, I will be able to study them and maybe see if I can use their spells." Says Issei
Meanwhile, in the Underworld
"I wonder how Issei-Kun did this summer holiday. He did say he would keep in touch but had no reply yet." Said, Sona
"Well, he's maybe training or studying. Knowing him as you said, he is a fast learner, and not only that, he is well built." Says Tsubaki while blushing
"Tsubaki, I thought you were more into Kiba. Why are you suddenly blushing at Issei as she smirks at her? Then again, it was shocking to be able to take out that stray even being such a disadvantage." Says Sona
"He did take a nasty hit at the end, but not without taking the stray with him, and not only that but holding that Legendary sword was just awe." Said Tsubaki
"You are trying to avoid the earlier question, Tsubaki." Said, Sona
"N-n-no, I wasn't. I didn't know how to respond to that; I like Kiba-san, but Issei-san has that pull, which is overpowering. I wonder what it would be like if he were a devil." Says Tsubaki
"I did think that, but he doesn't seem bothered about that. Then again, his ideal job as a teacher does go well with my goals in the future." Says Sona
"Anyway, Sona, you also like Issei-san. I see that look in your eyes even if you try and hide it." Says Tsubaki as she taunts her.
Suddenly blushing at the tease, "Well, he is brilliant. Maybe I should try to play a serious chess game to see if he can beat me. I am still curious about his second sacred gear as he keeps it a secret. Maybe use that as a wager in the serious chess game and perhaps join us like a devil." Said, Sona
"That would be interesting, so by serious match, and you are also thinking of taking him as a husband if he wins?" Asks Tsubaki
"If he does, then maybe it will still be challenging as he is not a devil, but he is part dragon now due to the organ replacement he had done thanks to his sacred gears. Which reminds me, I will need to contact Tannin-san to see if he would like to train him." Said Sona
"He might be able to come into the underworld but guessing we still have to get permission unless you turn him into a devil. Maybe talk to Sirzechs about it, as we all know your sister would deny it due to your overprotectiveness." Said Tsubaki
"True, very protective and annoying sometimes as holding the bridge of the nose, but if Sirzechs allows it, I might even discuss the plan about maybe getting Issei to help get Rias out of the marriage with Riser Phenix in the future." Says Sona
"Yeah, but we need to make sure we claim him beforehand, as I know he will try and get Rias to swear him in her peerage if not careful." Said Tsubaki
"Maybe, but also, if he's unable to join either peerage, we might be able to make him a High Devil who would be even better as then gives us 3 of us in Kuoh to protect it in the future and the possibility of helping us get peace with the other factions too." Said, Sona
"Well, should we go and prepare? Would you like me to call a meeting with Sirzechs and Tannin?" Asks Tsubaki
"Yes, please do, Tsubaki. That will be very helpful." Said Sona
"Hai!" Said Tsubaki
1 Week Later
Issei is currently learning some of Raijin's powers explaining in detail the control and visualization for his attack, Which he tried to replicate into his style and even created chaotic lightning, which he called the skill Black Lightning which has Amaterasu Characteristics fused to Rajini's. The skill itself is lethal and would kill the most supernatural and damage the higher ranking. Suddenly Issei's Phone started ringing.
*Phone Rings*
"Hello?" Asked Issei
"Hey Issei, how's your summer holiday coming along?" Asks Sona
"Good, thanks been learning some more depth abilities of my sacred gears and elements and other magic." Said Issei
"Oh, I can't wait to see if. I'm ringing to allow you to learn some dragon abilities if you're interested?" Asked Sona
"Is there a Dragon that would teach me? Is it even possible for me to go to him?" Asked Issei
"Yes, it is possible. I already got permission from a Maou and the dragon to teach you as he's very interested. But there's a condition which has to be done." Said Sona
"Hmmm, that's fantastic news, but I'm worried about the situation. What is it?" Asked Issei
"Is it possible to meet you and explain it to you in person as hard as on the phone?" Asked Sona
"Hmm, sure, I need to head home as I'm not there at the moment. Give me a couple of hours if that's ok?" Asked Issei
"That's fine, and it gives me time to prepare and talk to the rest of my peerage. I'll see you soon then, Issei-Kun." Said Sona
"Bye, Sona-san, and thank you again." Says Issei
Issei now starts packing his stuff and tells Amaterasu and other Shinto gods that he's heading back home as he got a chance to train his dragon abilities but needs to learn about the condition to be able to meet him. He starts to prepare some battle tactics used from all different eras of the most successful or most remembered on the train. He learns how Leonidas managed to hold out against the Persian army with just 300 of his men. After an hour on the train, he has now arrived home just in time as Sona just appeared through her magic circle and bows when she sees Issei.
"Welcome, Sona-san. I just walked through the door talk about good timing." Said Issei laughing at the timing
As she also laughs, "Thank you, Issei-Kun, so I brought my chessboard with me as I will need it after I explained the conditions to be able to enter the underworld with me, and sorry if it sounds harsh." Says Sona
"No, it's ok. I can understand, as its run is different from up here and just happy that I will probably have a chance to train on my dragon abilities." Said Issei
"Well, you get to train your dragon abilities. Either way, it's just something else is needed." Said Sona
"Ok? So, I have to do something if I win or lose a chess game, I am guessing, even though we pretty much even last time I counted." Said Issei
"There are fun and not serious games, but now I have got to do a serious game to test your abilities and how you would enter the underworld. I will explain the conditions to you now." Said Sona
"First, the Maou needs to know what other sacred gear you have inside you, and don't worry. I won't be telling anyone apart from the Maou. The second is a win or lose condition. If you win, you get a chance to be reincarnated into a High Devil with your evil pieces to build your peerage and share of looking after Kuoh with me, and Rias Gremory also has a chance for something else that be explained afterward. If you lose, you have to be reincarnated into my peerage or Ria's peerage. The decision on that is up to you." Sona said
"Hm, ok, they are fair conditions. Can I tell you about my sacred gear after we have the chess match? But I'm also curious about another chance on something?" Says Issei
"Yes, that is fine, so I will set up the board ready and call Tsubaki to be a judge if that's ok." Said, Sona
"Yeah, that's fine. Would you like a drink while you set up and will even prepare one for Tsubaki when she comes?" Said Issei
"That be lovely, thanks. Have you got any Flavored tea?" Asked Sona
"Have you got a favorite one or want me to surprise you?" Asked Issei
"Hmm, a surprise is pleasant as then it makes it more exciting." Said Sona as she gave off a devious smile
While Sona prepares the chessboard, she contacts Tsubaki and will arrive shortly. Issei decided to choose Tuscan Sun flavor tea which has a lot of good herbs and relaxing properties. The kettle had just finished, and that's when Tsubaki just entered through the magic circle and bowed to Issei and Sona.
"Welcome, Tsubaki-san here. I just made some tea. I hope you like it." Said Issei
"Ah, thank you Issei-kun. I am very thoughtful of you, and I hope you don't mind me judging this chess match." Says Tsubaki
"Not at all. It's a positive thing either way. Here you go, by the way. Sona-san hopes you like the tea." Said Issei as he smiles
"Thank you, Issei-Kun, as she slurps on the tea. Oh, this is an exciting flavor. May I ask what it is?" Asks Sona
"Sure, it's called Tuscan Sun. It has lots of herbs etc. which focus on relaxation and restoration. I love having this after a hard day's training or jogging." Says Issei
"That explains why I feel more relaxed and some of my energy restored, so the board is ready. Are you prepared for a serious match of chess? I'm going to use all my knowledge on this, so good luck." Said Sona
"Yes, I am ready and thank you. This will also test out what I have learned over this summer holiday." Says Issei
"Ok, since both are ready, let's begin." Says Tsubaki
Issei started the match when he moved his pawn piece, and then Sona also started with a pawn to match. The game continued to make an even move between each player, but Sona was surprised at Issei's tactics as she had never encountered this one before. Issei was covering all of the actions his queen and king hadn't even moved, and 2 of Issei's pawns had managed to promote one as a queen and another as a rook. Sona has lost most of the crucial pieces apart from the queen, one knight, and one rook with two pawns blocked in. Sona moved her queen piece to take the pawn that was turned into a rook and made a mistake as it was a trap. Issei started smirking and moved his queen to take hers and checkmate Sona.
"Checkmate Sona-san." Says Issei
"Wait…how did you…." Said a confused Sona
"The pawn promoted to rook was a trap for you to move your queen to it, then moved mine to take yours." Says Issei
"That was a good match. Issei-kun has won this match." Says Tsubaki
"I still can't believe you managed to do that. I was stunned by your tactics of moving the pieces as I had never encountered it, but it was a lesson well learned. Congrats on the win Issei-Kun." Said Sona
"Thanks, Sona-san and Tsubaki-san, So how did I get turned into a high devil?" Asks Issei
"Well, I will connect with Sirzechs to let you know the outcome. Then can you tell us your other sacred gear?" Asked Sona
"I will don't worry. I will wait for this person to arrive and put a privacy barrier up. By the way, what was that other condition which was a mystery?" Asked Issei
"Well, it's embarrassing, but it's to be engaged to me and possibly Rias Gremory." Said Sona while blushing.
"… Engaged as in the possibility of marriage kind of engaged?" Asked Issei
"Yeah, sorry, it's something my parents set up. If anyone manages to beat me in a serious game, then I have a possibility of getting married to that person." Said Sona
"I didn't expect that, but how come I get a chance to marry Rias? I thought you could only get married to one person?" Asks Issei
"You can, but polygamy is also allowed as devil's have a low birth rate." Says Sona
"Ah, I see. Well, that's something new to learn. This is very embarrassing as I know you and Tsubaki-san are cute but wouldn't think anyone would choose me." Said Issei
"Thank you, Issei-Kun, but you're a kind and intelligent person, so who wouldn't like that." Says Sona, instantly blushing.
"Sona is right, Issei-Kun, and thank you for calling me cute." Says Tsubaki as she blushes at his response. Sirzechs is on his way and will be here soon.
"Okay, I'm somewhat nervous about meeting one of the Maou. What is he like?" Asked Issei
"He is friendly and severe but also loves his sister a lot. I think sis-con would apply." Said, Sona
"Wow, well, it's family nothing wrong with that." Says Issei while laughing
As a magic circle appeared, a man in his 20s, having Crimson hair, blue eyes, and what looked like a suit with armor on his shoulders with a cape, and next to him was a lovely lady with grey hair in platted hair going down one side wearing a maids outfit.
*Shin*
"Thank you for calling me, Sona. I heard you lost the match; I never thought I see the day while giggling. You must be Issei. It's a pleasure to meet you. My name is Sirzechs Lucifer, and this woman behind me is my Queen Grayfia Lucifuge." Said Sirzechs
"It's an honor to meet you, Sirzechs-sama and Grayfia-sama. Will it be alright to now have a privacy barrier around the other sacred gear I have? I would like to keep it between us for emergencies." Said Issei
"That's fine. Grayfia, can you please sort that out." Said Sirzechs
"As you wish, Sirzechs. As he activates the barrier. Also, would you like me to sort out some tea while you chat?" Asked Grayfia
"The tea is in the top cupboard, and please help yourself, Grayfia-sama." Said Issei
"Thank you, and I will make you all some tea while you chat." Said Grayfia
"Ok, Issei, I am curious about your other sacred gear, but also never heard of this one that holds another dragon Ryujin as it isn't recorded about his gear?" Asked Sirzechs
"To be honest, Ryujin doesn't know how to become a sacred gear as he was happy in slumber, and I will also now tell you my other sacred gear is the Boosted Gear, which holds Ddraig." Said Issei
"Wow, to keep two dragons, one a heavenly and a dragon king, no wonder you are powerful. I also heard that you had become part dragon due to getting some injuries when fighting a stray devil." Said Sirzechs
"Yeah, I did, so I feel a bit stronger even though my senses have improved and other areas, but I heard Sona mention a chance to become High Devil Class if I won. How would that be possible, if I may ask?" Asks Issei
"Well, from the information Sona gave me from your fight with the stray and becoming half-dragon, I talked to the other Maou's about the possibility of turning you into a High Devil, and they suggested a game of chess. If you can beat Sona, then it's a yes if no, most become a low class with either my Sisters or Sona's peerage." Said Sirzechs
"I am honored and will always help my friends out. It is how my parents raised me before they passed away. Then, my Grandparents helped me make sure I went on the right path." Said Issei
"I see. I have the evil pieces here and a King Piece that you must keep quiet as King Pieces are rare and sensitive cases." Said Sirzechs
"Ok, I will not mention anything about it. Is it possible to modify the Pieces to suit me as I would like to be able to turn my peerage to dragon class as I heard there are dragons in the underworld?" Asked Issei
"Ah, you're talking about Tannin. He is an Ultimate Class Devil as he is trying to look after the remaining dragons, so maybe if you transfer your power and imagine Dragons, I'm sure your pieces will evolve to it. It would be interesting to see a devil-powered dragon class peerage." Said Sirzechs
Issei grabs the King Piece from the box, puts his magic power, and imagens dragons into it, and the other chess pieces start glowing into a crimson and blueish glow. Even some of the pieces began to mutate. Everyone seeing this was shocked as it was using both Ddraigs and Ryujins dragon powers into it and sensing the energy from each sample. The King piece finally merged into Issei, making him the first Dragon/Devil Class king.
"Woah, the power I feel is massive. I better pull this aura in." Says Issei
"Wow, you are even more potent than I thought. I think I should put you into an Ultimate/Super Devil Rank, but I will let you get used to being High Class first and get yourself a peerage as part of the deal. I will also allow Sona to take you to Tannin to train your dragon side, but also, I would like you to help protect Kuoh with Sona & Rias." Said Sirzechs
"Wow, thank you, Sirzechs. If called, I will do my best to preserve this place and others." Said Issei as he bows
"Thank you, Issei. Well, we better get back and report this to the other Maou and hope they can talk to me in the future." Said Sirzechs as he disappeared into the magic circle alongside Grayfia
*Shin*
"Issei… you hold Ddraig as well. I can see why you wanted to keep it quiet, one of Longinus Sacred Gears." Said Sona
"Yeah, sorry, Sona-san, I did want to tell you, but it was a sensitive thing, and I also knew what trouble it could cause if it got out." Said Issei
"No, that's understandable. So let's head to the underworld now and take you to Tannin for your dragon skills." Said Sona
Dragon Mountain (Underworld)
As the magic circle disappears, Sona, Tsubaki, and Issei come through, and the first thing he sees is dragons flying freely. Issei is in such awe seeing this when he sees a giant purple dragon coming this way. As the purple dragon landed, it caused a bit of shockwave and was massive. This is when he looks down at the group and welcomes them.
"Welcome to Dragon Mountain. This must be the Hatchling you mentioned, Sona. I sense a lot of energy from him, which I recognize very well. How have you been, Ddraig?" Asked Tannin
("Ah, Tannin, it's been a while. How are the family doing and also like to introduce my partner and the other Dragon within my host.") Said Ddraig
["Pleasure to meet you, Tannin. This is a lovely sight to see."] Said Ryujin
"Hi Tannin-sama, it's a pleasure to be able to train under you." Said Issei
"Pleasure is all my hatchling, and also, is that you Ryujin?" Asked Tannin
["Yes, Tannin, I wish I would've met you under different circumstances than being in this sacred gear."] Said Ryujin
"Yeah, last I heard, you were resting at your home after helping the humans with their crops." Said Tannin
["Yeah, my host Issei is trying to find out how I got put into here as it's a mystery. But anyways, can you help train Issei in using his dragon abilities as he is more dragon than human now, even more so after gaining evil pieces."] Said Ryujin
"Ah, it is my pleasure. It was the first time I trained someone under two famous dragons, especially Ddraig." Said Tannin
["Non taken, it's pretty lovely talking to Ddraig about his adventures as a Heavenly dragon than with his other hosts."] Said Ryujin
"I see well, Issei. Are you ready to train hard as I will put you through your paces and say your goodbyes to Sona before heading off?" Said Tannin
"Hai, thank you for bringing me here, Sona-san and Tsubaki-san. Will it be ok to meet up with you before going back to Kuoh, as I wouldn't know how to teleport back?" Asked Issei as he rubbed the back of his head.
"Not a problem, Issei-kun. We will be able to discuss more once your training is all done as we will need to discuss your roles as other things." Said Sona
"I look forward to it, and thank you again. I am ready to go when you are Tannin. Is there a way to get my dragon wings out?" Asked Issei
"Yes, focus on your back and feel your dragon wings expand." Said Tannin
As Issei concentrated on his back, 4 Dragon wings came out with Crimson and Blueish Scales and were Western dragon wings. Issei feels the weight and works how to work them and just looks at them in awe. Even Tannin was looking at them and giving off a smirk.
'He's going to be a strong Dragon, I can tell already.' Thought Tannin
