The Watcher smiled as he looked down at Barry and Caitlin, who watched as Peter left and wondered what that was about.

"What was that about?" Caitlin wondered.

"My guess is he thinks something is going on." Barry took a guess.

"Allen!" Captain Singh strode towards him, and Caitlin looked up again in slight amusement. "Where the heck is the review for the Orloff Case?"

"Upstairs." Singh gave him an incredulous look. "It's- it's all finished... I can just run up and bring it down." He glanced at Caitlin, then ran towards the stairs.

"With you that could be three days from now; I'll go with you." He turned and followed Barry with Caitlin hot on his heels. The Captain, not having noticed her before, gave her a look over, wondering why she was there. "Who are you?"

"Dr. Caitlin Snow. Barry's personal physician." There was a certain element of pride to her voice as she said it.

"Seemed more like his girlfriend to me." Singh said as he rolled his eyes, that comment making Caitlin blush.

Once in Barry's lab, the forensic scientist handed the file over to his boss, then exchanged a guilty look with the amused Caitlin. He used his speed to get the job done, so there was a bunch of papers flying around the room and on the floor.

"Clean up your lab. It's a mess." The Captain said rudely, walking out and leaving the two of them alone.

As soon as he was gone Caitlin gave Barry a smirk. "Using your powers for your job now as well, are we?"

He shrugged. "Nobody said it wasn't allowed. But we should get to work."

While they worked, they were quiet. Barry sat at his desk fiddling with a model of DNA while Caitlin looked around.

Finally, Barry spoke to ask a question. "Can I ask you something personal?"

"My least favorite kind of question," Caitlin said dryly. "Shoot."

"Ronnie. What was he like?" Barry looked up at her, wondering if she would respond. She glanced up at him sharply. "You just...seemed to have this kind of relationship with him..."

"Well, he was my fiancé, as you know." Caitlin decided to go into her relationship with Ronnie. She has had ten months to get over him, and she knew she has gotten over him. "We met when we were working on the particle accelerator." She told him how they first met. "He was a struggling engineer. He liked to joke that he was just a very high-priced plumber."

Barry chuckled at that joke but tried to keep it to himself.

"We were very different. You might have noticed I can be a bit...guarded." Caitlin tried to find the right words, and Barry instantly got curious. "Ronnie knew how to make me laugh. He used to say we were like fire and ice. He wasn't even supposed to be there that night. He was just there for me. If he hadn't..."

Then the machine went off, cutting off her story, and she instantly got focused on it.

"This says that there was no residue of gas in the tissue, poisonous or otherwise," Caitlin tells him.

Barry feels that's unlikely and wondered how that could be. "Must've evaporated. We'll need a fresh sample."

"Wait." Caitlin noticed something off and walked it over. "This can't be right. This says that there are two distinct strands of DNA inside the tissue."

"How did someone else's DNA get inside the victim's lungs?" Barry asked, trying to understand how that was possible. He quickly used the system to look into the second DNA but didn't find any match. "There's no DNA match in the database, so that's odd."

"I don't understand. Why would a chemical attack leave behind another person's DNA inside the victim?" Caitlin tried to understand how it worked.

That's when Barry finally came to a conclusion they hadn't considered. "What if he doesn't control gas? What if he becomes it?"

They then hear the police radio in his labs go off. "All available units, we have a report of a toxic gas attack at the Central City Shopping Mall."

Barry immediately got up and move to his locker where he kept a spare suit while Caitlin tried to stop him. "Barry, don't. We don't know enough about what you're facing yet. It's not safe."

"Caitlin." Barry sighed as he faced her. "I have to go."

With that, Caitlin had a small flashback to the exact words Ronnie said before she died as he sped off.

With Peter, he was swinging through the sky and looking for his enemy the Green Goblin. But it was as if after interrupting his date with Mary Jane Watson, he just upped and vanished into thin air.

"Paging, the Green Goblin?" Peter called as he kept swinging. "Man, who would've thought it'd be impossible to track a goblin with teleportation technology." Then he landed on the side of a wall and sighed. "Who am I kidding? Nobody ever thought that sentence would ever be uttered."

"Help police!" Someone cried, immediately getting Peter's attention.

When he looked down at the cry, he saw someone climbing into a car carrier trailer and driving off.

"They stole my cars!"

Peter immediately jumped into action as he swung through the air to keep up with the car. The two robbers inside used the mirrors to look around for the heroes, making sure they weren't coming for them.

"Keep an eye out. That Spider-Freak could be anywhere." The passenger stated in fear as he kept driving.

"Ta-da!" Peter said as he crawled onto the front window. "Speak my name, and I magically appear!"

"Spider-Man!" The two of them cried in fear.

"Don't freak out, I'll shake him!" The driver promises as he started to swirl the car around.

Peter scoffed as he just stuck to the front of the car. "Come on, are we really doing this?"

The passenger then pushed a button to open the back of the car to escape that way. "Screw this, I'm outta here!"

Peter watched as he opened the side doors and made his escape. But before the driver could make the same escape trick, Peter webbed his arms to the wheel. While he's dealing with him, the second guy kicked the brake line and cut it to give himself time.

"Okay, so, while we're stuck here, why don't you show us down?" Peter asked.

"I can't!" The driver stated as he tried to do just that.

Peter wondered why that was when he crawled across the roof and noticed the line was broken. "Okay, that's not fair!"

"We're gonna crash!" The driver cried in fear.

Peter then got an idea as he looked ahead and quickly shot several strands of webbing and connected them, creating a net to stop the truck. Swinging over, he looked at the driver.

"Now be a good boy and wait for the cops to come and arrest you," Peter said as he watched the second guy driving away. "Great."

He took off driving down the street, trying to get away, racing through a red light, where pedestrians were crossing. One guy and woman were stuck in the middle of the street were passing when the car came at him.

Working fast, Peter shot two webs and yanked them upward to get out of the way of the car and left them. Where they were, when the web decays, it would lower them down gently enough. But until then, the two were gonna be stuck together for the next hour.

"You can thank me later, dude!" Peter cried as he left the two of them.

Finally reaching the stolen car, Peter swung in through the passenger door and webbed it open. In the process, he ended up kicking the driver out and shooting a net to catch him. Shooting another net between a light and a building, he caught the car and the driver at once.

"And that's a wrap!" Peter cheered in victory as he swung off.

Meanwhile, Norman Osborn was inside Oscorp talking to Otto Octavius, getting ready for their next experiment. After the failed Molten Man, he wanted his next super-powered agent ready to take care of the Spider-Man after his talk with the Man in Yellow. And after the accident, his arms were fused to his body, and Norman promised him he'd eventually free him of them.

"What about the Spider-Man?" Otto asks as he was working on DNA sequences to create his next monster. "If we keep sending these people after him, it's possible he can trace them back to Oscorp."

"Enough," Norman tells him. "I can't have weak men in my organization." He then grabbed him by the neck and pushed him away. "Now do your experiments like a good Doctor Octopus."

Otto snarled as Norman left him alone with the experiments. Going over the sample of blood that he received from Max Dillon, Electro, he was working on how he was created when an alarm went off.

"What?" Otto asked when the sample of lightning blasted his head.

It then started to mess with him, his mind being altered and the entire facility sparking off. Peter happened to be nearby when he saw the explosion go off.

"What the heck was that?" Peter asked in shock. He then had an idea of who is doing this and reacted. "Goblin!"

Norman and his workers went through the labs and found Otto on the floor and ran over to check on him, seeing he was crushed under rubble.

"Otto!" Norman cried, acting worried.

"I got it," Peter said as he came down and removed the large rubble. "Otto Octavius?" He was shocked to see him here as the last time he saw Otto, it was back in Mercury Labs.

"Otto? Can you hear me?" Norman asked the scientist.

But just then, the doctor woke up and used his arms to slam both Peter and Norman into the wall. "I knew you would track me down, Arachnid!"

"What?" Peter asked in confusion.

"Do not insult my intelligence," Otto warned the hero, who tried to pry himself free from the arm. "You tracked me down and tried to eliminate me!"

"Buddy, why on earth would I want to eliminate you?" Peter was not following this guy's logic. "I haven't even met you."

"Oh, but I know you!" Otto stated as he shoved Peter through the ceiling. "I have been sending these freaks to kill you, with the help of Norman Osborn."

"What?" Peter asked, looking over to the man in question.

"He's obviously gone insane." Norman scoffed at the notion.

Peter knew he should go over this later, but right now, he needs to get free of the arms. "And now I have improved. I have become one with the arms. And I will eliminate you myself!"

"Otto-" Norman tried to get through to him.

"Otto Octavius was weak. Call me...Doctor Octopus!" Otto proclaimed.

Just when Peter came back in, something started to beep on Otto's arms, giving Peter a look of shock. "Uh...you late for a meeting?"

"Till we meet again, spider!" Otto proclaimed as he made his way out, giving Peter a chance to chase him.

Back with Barry, he had just gotten attacked by his poisonous metahuman which allowed him to find a fresh sample. This also meant he was out of commission by the time Octavius went on a rampage. But that also got him close to death, and he woke up to see Caitlin was nowhere to be seen.

The next he saw her; she was sitting in the treadmill room. Sulking and just sitting by herself in silence.

Barry walked in and sat down quietly next to her. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to scare you like that."

Caitlin looked over at him. "It's ok. I get it. You had to go. It's just... that's the last thing Ronnie said to me that night."

Barry sighed and gently took her hand, supporting her all the way. "My mother died 14 years ago. My brother was ripped out of my life for over a decade. I used to think that the further away I got from it, the less it would hurt. But...some days the pain is worse than the day it happened." He looked over and Caitlin nodded, understanding what he was saying to her. "Some things you just can't fight."

"For so long, I've been terrified of going into that hole," Caitlin informed him.

Barry stayed quiet for a moment, then said. "What if I went with you?"

He stood up and extended a hand. She grasped it gently in one of her own, and let him lead her down to the room she had avoided for so long. When they arrived in the Particle Accelerator, Caitlin was overwhelmed by memories. They flooded every sense of her being:

Cisco being down here, giving her the comm, talking to her fiancé for the very last time.

She felt tears prick at her eyes as Barry took her hand. "No one will even know how much of a hero he was that night."

"I will," Barry murmured. He slowly wrapped his arms around her and pulled her to his chest. Every part of him was set tingling, and he shivered a little.

Caitlin leaned her head unto his chest, snuggling herself in his arms and breathing him in with a sigh of contentment. Their moment however was interrupted by Cisco calling them, saying he found something.

Back with Peter, he was following the doctor gone mad scientist, who was breaking into a strange warehouse he's never seen before. When the doctor made his way inside, he ripped open one of the crates and found a dozen small circular orbs glowing blue.

"You left a fight with me to come and steal some glow orbs from Star Wars?" Peter asks, getting the doctor's attention towards him. "Didn't know you were that big of a fan." He then dropped down and landed across from him. "Yet again, I always was more of an originals fan."

"Glib does not equate with clever!" Otto snarled as he sent his arms towards Peter to try and catch him.

"Yeah, well, the ratio of arms to sanity ratio hasn't been established either," Peter commented.

"Do you ever stop talking?!" Otto asked as he tries to use his arms and squash the Spider.

"Nope," Peter admitted as he kicked one of the arms when they got too close. "My fans expect a certain level of quipping during my fights."

Otto was getting irritated as he inserted the orb into the power source of his arms and got ready to take him down. Peter dodged the arms, watching them impale the walls, knowing he should avoid them.

"Come on, doc. You're an anthropoid, I'm a cephalopod, can't we just hug it out?" Peter asked.

Otto watched him as he ran around, seeing he was tiring himself out. "You're tiring yourself out, you insignificant pest! For me on the other hand, my mind never tires!"

"You're right." Peter agreed, shooting a web to hit his chest, ripping off the power source. "But they don't run on solar energy either."

"NO!" Otto cried as his arms started to die and collapse.

"I think you should invest in something greener," Peter commented. "Especially if you're working for a man called Green Goblin."

Then he heard sirens approach and saw that was his cue to leave. Swinging off, leaving the Doctor to the professionals, he realized he accidentally made off with the power source.

"Whoops, should've left this behind," Peter said, but then began to wonder something. "Who exactly made you? I'd think you're some sort of news somewhere. I'll keep you, see if you can unveil any answers for me."

Because if Otto is working for the Goblin, that means he got the information to find this device from the Goblin. Meaning he was after this device for some reason or another. And also means that he's working on something that requires this much energy.

But what?

Looking down at the time, he realized that he needed to get going to make it home. Today, Barry was supposed to be bringing the West's family over to meet May for dinner. Hopefully, May doesn't burn the place down trying to cook for them while he was gone. She is not good at cooking for large groups on her own without burning either something or everything.

Inside the warehouse, the police brought in Otto Octavius through a STRIKE Force truck due to the arms. The said front of the warehouse left a sign that Peter seems to have missed:

STARK INDUSTRIES

After dealing with his gas metahuman, Barry, Joe (just being released from the hospital), and Iris made it to May's house just as Peter sneaked in through the window. Just as he made his way inside, Peter made his way out of his suit and did his best to get changed as fast as he could. As he was making his way down the hall, he heard the doorbell ring.

"I got it, May!" Peter called, knowing it'd be best to keep her in the kitchen right now.

"Thanks, sweetie!" May said from the kitchen.

When he was making his way down the stairs, he looked down and noticed he was still wearing his Spider-Man boots. Acting quickly, he ran to the front door and placed on a pair of shoes. That masked the boots to just look like he was wearing a pair of socks.

Pulling his jeans down to hide the boots the best he could, Peter made his way over and opened the door. "Hey!"

"Hey, Peter." Barry greeted him. "Everything good?"

"Yeah. Just been a while since we've had company." Peter explained the chaos in the house. But then he came to a sad realization. "Actually, you're the only people who've come over that aren't our neighbors."

"Well, that's a little depressing..." Barry muttered to himself. "...that I had the same problem growing up."

"Yep," Iris said as she patted her friend's shoulder. "Great to see you again, Peter."

"Same here, Iris," Peter said as he let them come in.

"Hey, again, Peter." Joe greeted him.

"Hey." Peter greeted them as they all came together.

The Watcher eyed them from the skies as the families started to come together. All of them finally came together for the first time and were getting to know one another.

"This family, with a fifteen-year time gap between them of being apart, is finally making up for the lost time together." The Watcher was happy to say as the family met May and sat down for dinner. Then a darker cloud hung over The Watcher's head. "But...someone is coming."

In a corner of the city, in a regular home, something not so regular was going down.

"...stay tuned, faithful viewers!" Jameson cried on the tv with a photo of Spider-Man vs Doctor Octopus appearing on the screen. "As we follow this webbed masked menace through 24/7 news!"

Scoffing, a figure turned off the news before shooting a strand of a familiar substance. This turned on the lights to show the figure was a woman with short flowing dark brown hair.

The hair only fell down near her shoulders, and she was revealed to be a young girl. She was some time around Peter's age. Walking around the room, she walked over to a sewing machine where there was a shirt being finished up.

The shirt was all dark red and had a giant white spider on the front. Same colored sleeves with the gloves having white tips at the top of them. Her pants were the same color as her shirt, with no real adjustments outside of that. The mask itself was attached to the shirt and has white lenses for her eyes that covered everything but her hair.

"You call him a menace; I call him an inspiration." She commented as she looked over her whole suit.

The Watcher eyed the girl and didn't even understand this. "This is...strange. I see you through the eyes of everyone. And yet your life or destiny is to be determined." He comments as he watched the girl put the whole outfit together. "I guess time will tell who or what you are...Jessica Drew."

The girl then spun around to reveal the girl known as Jessica Drew, with an origin that's currently in flux. She has a dozen origins; each one is different than the last. It's just a matter of time before unveiling her past.

Emilia Clarke as Jessica Drew

(A/N) I already have Jessica's backstory planned out, I just wanna wait to give it away until the time is right.

And if you're wondering, Bobby will be back in the next chapter.
