This chapter is a continuation of the previous chapter. If you have not read that chapter, please do so before reading this one.
Also, I apologize for the long delay between chapters… I know you guys love this series, but things have been happening in my life recently, and it's been hard for me to write. For better or worse reasons.
I'm hoping to get back into it, starting with this chapter.
As the young girl with black hair pulls Rina and Koharu away from the construction site where they encountered Eiji, Rina begins to question who she, or who that other girl is. Having gotten far enough away from the site, the three of them stop to take a break by a fountain. "Phew, this should be far enough." The girl with black hair says, wiping her forehead, "You two okay?"
"Yes… thank you…" Koharu tells her, trying to catch her breath.
"Okay… now that we're out of there, mind telling me what the heck is going on?!" Rina exclaims, "Who are you, and how do you know Koharu?"
The mystery girl turns to Rina and says, "Well I guess since she decided to just jump out of nowhere, I guess an introduction is in order." She then introduces herself with a cheerful, yet unnerving smile, "Name's Kyoko Hinotaka. It's a pleasure to meet you."
"Okay but… how do you know Koharu?" Rina asks.
"Because Koharu is one of us." Another voice says as the woman with greenish-yellow hair from before comes running from the same direction they just came from.
"Hey Riku." Kyoko greets her, "Dealt with him that fast?"
"No," the woman responds with a sigh, "he had henchmen lined up, so all I could do was flee."
"Aww man… that's a shame." Kyoko says, putting her hands behind her head and acting super chill.
"As for you Koharu, you did very well in your fight." The other mystery woman tells her, but then Rina bursts out in a shout.
"Can someone please explain to me what the heck is going on?!"
Both Kyoko, and the other woman look, at each other, nod, and look back. "I guess since we've revealed ourselves to you, and since you seem you're also against what Eiji does, I'll tell you." The yellow-haired woman says.

Drive 21 – Fairies in the Moonlight
"My name is Riku Momoya. I'm the leader of the Rebellion."
"The… Rebellion?" Rina questions.
"Yes…" Riku nods in confirmations, "We're a group of women who all have a collected hatred of people who use woman as nothing more than objects to satisfy their own twisted desires." Rina just stares at her blankly before Kyoko chimes in.
"That's right," she says with a cheery tone, "it's our job to find these people and make sure they get the justice they deserve!"
"And Koharu here is a member of our rebellion." Riku explains, gesturing toward the stressed woman.
Rina then starts to connect the pieces, "Because of Eiji?" she asks.
Riku nods and says, "Yes. We've actually had Eiji in our sights for quite a while now."
"In fact, Koharu's the one who told us about him, or at least, confirmed our suspicions." Kyoko adds as she trots around before looking back at Rina. "I'm sure you've seen what Eiji does with her on a daily basis. Remember the abandoned warehouse?"
Rina then thinks back…
Flashback (Turn 12)
Koharu looks down as her hair overshadows her eyes as Eiji grabs her from behind, "You lost, and now you must face your punishment…" he whispers into her ear and horror comes over the girl's face. Eiji reaches for her bra clasp, but as Rina watches, she grows more and more frustrated.
End of Flashback
"That's the kind of stuff we despise." Kyoko says.
"And to tell you the truth, Koharu isn't the only one." Riku explains with a heavy expression.
"What do you mean?" Rina asks.
"Koharu isn't his ONLY fiancé." Riku says.
Rina's eyes widen when hearing this. "What…?!" she says.
"He'll say she is, because she's the only one who actually lives with him." Riku explains, "In reality, Eiji has been secretly using Kiba funds to support underground gangs, drug dealers, and sex traffickers, and he's directly involved with all of them, especially that third thing."
"All because he believes in power, and power alone." Kyoko states with a shrug. "As long as you have power, you can do ANYYYYthing!" she says, attempting to mockingly mimicking Eiji's voice.
"And now because Koharu has nowhere left to go, she's forced to bear everything that's been done to her." Riku says.
Rina then remembers something Koharu said to her during their fight.
Flashback (Turn 20)
Koharu clinches her fist in anger and says, "Just because I'm his fiancé doesn't mean I'm his wife! I shouldn't have to bear his children if I don't want to!"
End of Flashback
Her heart then sinks when she finally connects the dots, and after looking at Koharu, her fears were realized… "You mean…?"
Riku slowly nods and says, "Yes… Koharu is pregnant…" Rina then looks at Koharu's expression and sees tears streaming down her face.
"Yep, she's got a little baby inside her tummy," Kyoko says, "Eiji's baby."
"Wait… then how long have you been pregnant?" Rina asks her.
"About five months now…" Koharu says with a weak voice, "and it's starting to hurt." Rina can't believe what she's heard, but at the same time, it explains so much, about Eiji, and about Koharu.
"So, she finally had enough and decided to join our cause." Kyoko says.
"Though she's technically on Eiji's team for this tournament, she's still on our side." Riku then looks at her phone to check the time and says, "But we need to get going. We need to stay on the move. Be careful Koharu."
Koharu nods, as Riku and Kyoko spin on her heels, with the latter saying, "K, seeya later." While tossing a peace sign at them.
"Hey wait!" Rina stops them, "Let me join you!" Riku squints her eyes and Kyoko raises an eyebrow.
"You wanna join us?" she questions.
Rina nods and says, "Yes… I hate Eiji for what he's doing to Koharu, and any other woman he's hurt. I want to join you so I can help you take him down, and give him what he truly deserves!"
"You're asking a tall order, but…" Riku says, then thinks for a moment, leaving Rina in suspense. "I'll tell you what. Get past the first round of the tournament, and then we'll talk. We're in this too."
"Yep, for the same reason you wanna join us." Kyoko states.
"Show us you can be an ally, and that you have the strength to go up against Eiji."
Rina thinks for a moment, then says, "Alright. You've got deal!"
"Alright then. We'll talk once you've cleared the first round." Riku says. After that, Rina exchanges contact info with Riku and Kyoko, before the four of them go their separate ways, for now.
Meanwhile, in another part of the city, Yuto Hajikura is taking a lunch break on a bench while he makes some changes to his deck. "Maybe I'll use this." He says as he looks through his cards, but just then, his phone buzzes in his pocket. He pulls it out and sees that he has a notification from the Fighter's Royal app. He opens it up to see that one of his teammates, Nezumi Kisaragi has lost all her points. "Nezumi's out?!" he exclaims. He then quickly packs up his deck and leaves his lunch behind to get over to her location. He sends her a text telling her to meet him in the park before he heads off in that direction.
After Yuto arrives at the park, he stops for a minute to catch his breath and looks around, but his teammate is nowhere to be found. "Maybe she's farther away." The Park was quiet, with very few people, mainly couples and joggers, walking around and muffled sounds of the city around it is the only thing that can be heard, other than the light breeze blowing through the dense bright green trees. Just as Yuto is taking in the scenery, he notices something not too far from him. He sees a young woman with long flowing pink hair with one single strand colored green and dressed in what appears to be a school uniform of a white dress shirt with a blue tie, black skirt, and black thigh-high socks. Her shoes were off to the side as she sits on a picnic blanket in the grass. All the blanket had on it was a single portable stove with a teapot on top of it.
Yuto walks up to the girl saying, "Excuse me." The girl then turns to face him, "I'm looking for a girl, about this high, brown hair in a pony-tail, and wearing an idol costume. Have you seen anyone like that come through here?"
The woman smiles and says, "No, I'm sorry. I haven't seen anyone like that."
"I see…" Yuto says, discouraged, but just then, a pleasant aroma hits his nose and then notices it's coming from the teapot. "Whoa, that smells good. What is it?"
The woman smiles and says, "It's tea. A special Kiba blend as a matter of fact."
"Kiba?" Yuto's eyes then light up, "Wait! You're part of the Kiba family?!"
"No," the girl says, "I only part-time as a maid in their mansion."
"Oh. I see."
"And part of my job," the woman continues, "is to prepare this special tea for my masters. Would you like to try some?" she offers.
Yuto thinks for a second, then slowly nods and says, "uh, sure." The girl then pours a cup full of the special tea and then hands it to the redhead. After smelling it for a second, he puts the cup to his lips and lets the liquid fall into his mouth. He is then overwhelmed by a pleasant feeling. "WHOA! This is amazing! So this is what the richest people in the world drink huh?"
"Indeed." The girl says, "I consider myself luck that I'm able to drink this almost every day."
"I'll say." Just as Yuto is looking around, his eyes end up on the girl's shoes and it notices a Vanguard deck next to them. "You play Vanguard?"
The girl looks back at her deck, then back at Yuto, and says, "Oh yes of course. Who doesn't play Vanguard in this day and age?"
"Fair enough I guess." Yuto agrees.
"I'm actually a part of Fighter's Royal." She says, and Yuto tenses up a little, "So why don't we have a cardfight?"
"Like… right now?" Yuto questions.
"Well it would be for the tournament, and since your friend hasn't shown up yet, it might be a good way to pass the time." The girl explains.
Yuto thinks for a moment, then nods his head and says, "Sure why not? Let's do it!"
The two of them find a fight table nearby and walk over to it as they set up their decks. "By the way. You never told me your name." Yuto tells her.
"I'm Lily. Lily Haruza." The girl introduces herself.
"Then it's nice to meet you. I'm Yuto Hajikura."
"Well then Yuto, I hope for a good fight." Lily tells him.
"Same." The two of them then place their hands on their starting Vanguards, and declare in unison, "Stand up… VANGUARD!"
Meanwhile, Rina walks down the street, still shaken from what she's learned, but then her phone rings. She pulls it out to see she has a call from Alex. "Hello?"
"Rina! Where were you? Are you okay?!" Alex asks from the other end in a panic.
"Yeah, I'm fine." Rina then thinks about what she wants to say next and says, "I just had to deal with another player."
"Oh okay. Well you gave us a bit of a scare when you just hung up on us like that."
"I'm sorry." Rina says.
"Hey, it's okay." Alex says, "I mean, I'd probably be guilty of doing the same thing."
"Probably." The two girls then let out a laugh together, but once they're done, Rina talks in a more serious tone, "By the way Alex, next time we're together, there's something I need to talk to you about."
"Really?" Alex questions.
"Yes… and it has to do with Koharu…"
Meanwhile, back with Yuto and Lily, their fight is currently underway. It is Lily's 2nd turn, and she currently has 1 damage while Yuto has 0. "Ride! Fairy Princess, Aria (G2/10000)! Using her skill ([X]), I call a Fairy Token." After Lily declares this, the Aria hologram beside her waves her hands around gracefully, as a tiny pixie with purple wings flies from the trees (G0/0).
"A Fairy Token?" Yuto questions.
"Fairy Tokens the tiny little beings that bring life to the forest and all of nature. Their magic is what gives everything a sense of happiness to all those who reside in Neo Nectar."
"But it's got 0 power…" Yuto states.
"For now, but their strength is in numbers. Fairy Tokens gain 5000 power and shield for every Fairy Token on my board (G0/0-5000/0-5000). They also have boost and intercept."
"Seriously?!"
"I call Fairy Mage, Boquete (G2/10000) and Emerald Sylph, Wendy (G1/8000). Since we're play in the forest, a special rule is in play."
"What do you mean?" Yuto asks.
"When cardfighters play on this board, all Zoo units gain 1000 power during their owner's turn."
"Wait really?!" Yuto questions, but Ryuzu did say special effects could apply depending on where you play. Boosted by Wendy, Aria attacks the Vanguard (11000-20000)!"
"No guard."
"Drive check (Front). Front Trigger! 10000 power to the front row (20000-30000) (11000-21000)!"
"Damage check (none)." (Yuto: []).
"Boosted by my Fairy Token, Boquete attacks the Vanguard (21000-26000)!" Boquete swings her wand and fires a stream of petals toward Yuto's dragon. (Yuto: [][]).
"My turn!" Yuto declares, "Ride! Halberd Dragon Knight (G2/10000). Using Halberd's skill. Choose one of your rear-guards and bind it!"
"I choose Wendy." Lily says.
"With the skill of Dragon Dancer Leiya in my back row, when your rear-guard is bound during my turn, one of my rear-guards gains 3000 power! I choose Halberd Dragon (10000-13000). I call Red Voltage Dragon (G2/10000), using his skill ([X][]), bind Boquete! Boosted by Leiya, Halberd Dragon attacks the Vanguard (13000-21000)!"
"No guard."
"Drive Check (Critical). Critical Trigger! I give the power to Red Voltage (10000-20000) and the critical to Halberd (21000/Crit 1-2)!" Halberd Dragon raises its axe high into the sky and slashes it down, striking Aria as she screams (Lily: [X][][]). "Red Voltage Dragon attacks the Vanguard!"
"I guard (15000)!" Yuto then ends his turn as Lily begins hers. She draws a card from her deck and smiles, "Isn't the forest just beautiful?" she asks.
Slightly confused, Yuto looks around the Park and says, "Uh, sure. I guess. It is pretty calm around here, even during a large scale tournament."
"I know." Lily replies, "It's one of the things I love about nature. It's so calm. None of humanity's idiocy or pollution of unnatural machines. If only human lives could be that peaceful, but no. There will always be someone who makes your life miserable." Yuto looks back at Lily who is now hanging her head, to where he can't see her eyes.
"What do you mean?"
Lily raises her head, now with a more serious and determined expression. "Queen of the Sprites, let your magic flow across this cursed land. Return us to peace and harmony! Ride!" Aria disappears, and in her place, another fairy with long flowing, braided white hair, wearing black robes, and sprouting red wings appears, and with her arrival, as red magic energy flows around the area as Lily declares her name, "Life Blossom Mischief, La Fay (G3/12000-13000)!" Yuto is taken aback by the sheer beauty of the fairy in front of him but is also unnerved by its strange ominous presence. "Activating La Fay's skill ([X][X][])! I call another Fairy Token (G0/0). Since there are now two Fairy Tokens on the board, their power is 10000! (G0/10000) (G0/10000)." As Lily chants this, more fairy tokens, than there are actually on the board, fly down from the trees.
"Whoa…" Yuto mutters seeing the purple lights from the fairies gather around Lily, "Amazing…"
"I call Wendy (G1/8000-9000) and with her skill (Soul 2-1), call another Fairy Token (G0/0). Now the power of Fairy Tokens becomes 15000! I move my lone Fairy Token to the front row."

"My lone token attacks Red Voltage Dragon!" the pack of fairies that the token represents fly toward Red Voltage Dragon and begin to dance around it, like a swarm of enraged bees, and before long, the dragon vanishes with the power of their magic.
Yuto is in shock seeing the fairies easily disintegrate his dragon.
"Boosted by Wendy, La Fay attacks the Vanguard (13000-22000)! Activating La Fay's skill, for each Fairy Token on my board, she gains 5000 power (22000-37000)!" La Fay raises her hand and swings it down toward Halberd Dragon, instructing the fairy tokens to swarm it, disorienting the dragon.
"No guard…" Yuto declares.
"Twin Drive (none/Critical). Critical Trigger! I give the power to my front right Fairy Token (15000-25000) and the Critical to La Fay (37000/Crit 1-2)!" La Fay then gathers a ball of red magic energy in her hands and then fires a beam of energy from the ball toward the dragon. The tokens jump out of the way as the beam hits the dragon.
"Damage check (none/Heal). Heal Trigger! Power to Halberd and heal 1 damage (10000-20000) (Yuto: [X][][]).
"My two remaining Fairy Tokens boost and attack (25000-40000)!" (Yuto: [X][][][]). "I end my turn.
"Man, you're strong." Yuto compliments her.
Lily scoffs and says, "Sure… I guess."
"What's with the attitude all of a sudden?" Yuto thinks to himself, "She seemed so calm and collected before." He savors the thought for a moment, then says to himself, "It doesn't matter. Right now, I need to focus on winning this fight! Stand and Draw!" Yuto draws a card from his deck, then chants, "Dragon of Violet Thunder, surge a path toward our perfect future! Ride!" Halberd Dragon disappears, and in his place, a large dragon with crystalline purple wings and charged with electricity descends from the sky, "Dragonic Desire (G3/12000)!" Yuto then holds up a card in his hand and declares, "I discard Dragon Dancer Tanya from my hand to allow Dragonic Desire to activate his Soul Drive right now!"
"What?"
"Now, I can shuffle two cards from your bind zone into your deck to activate Dragon Desire's Soul Drive!" the dragon's wings grow longer and wider, and its claws and horns grow longer as well, "Add 3000 power, 1 grade, and 1 drive (G3-4/12000-15000/drive 2-3)! Next I activate Dragonic Desire's skill ([X][X][][]). Bind one of your rear-guards, and then a card in your drop zone."
"I bind Wendy and this Front trigger in my drop zone." Lily declares.
"With Leiya's skill, since my Vanguard is Driven, add 10000 power to herself since two units were bound (8000-18000)! Next I call, Halberd Dragon Kight (G2/10000), Red Voltage Dragon (G2/10000), and Desire Wyvern (G1/8000)! Red Voltage's skill ([X][X][X][])! Bind a Fairy Token in your front row!"
"Fine, but you do realize because they're tokens, they don't actually go into the bind zone. Right?" Lily explains.
"I'm aware. Now, I pay a Counterblast, and a Soulblast to liberate the Generation Zone ([X][X][X][X])(Soul 2-1)!" Yuto then imagines himself flying through a vortex of lightning toward a bright white light. He raises a fist to the sky and chants, "Surging Lighting! Become the force that protects our future, and become the light that guides our way in the darkness! Generation… SOUL STRIDE!" Yuto is then engulfed by the white light. Back on Earth, Dragonic Desire evolves into a more scaley version of itself as its crystal wings break into full lightning wings, and the storm in the sky grows more violent, "Dragonic Desire… PLASMA STORM (GX/27000)!" Lily is taken aback by the presence of Yuto's dragon. "Activating Dragonic Desire Plasma Storm's skill! Bind the top three cards of your deck, and if you bind any triggers, I can activate those effects on my units!"
"A drive check from the opponent's deck." Lily smiles in interest, "Interesting." (Bind: 2-5). Lily binds each of her cards one at a time but reveals one particular card to Yuto (Front).
"A Front Trigger. Add 10000 power to my entire front row!"

"Also, since you just bound three cards, add 5000 power to Desire Wyvern, Plasma Storm, and Red Voltage (8000-13000) (37000-42000) (20000-25000)!"

"Boosted by Leiya, Dragonic Desire Plasma Storm attacks the Vanguard (42000-60000)!" Leiya cutely hops on top of Plasma Storm and sits on its head like she's riding a horse. "Plasma Storm's skill! Add 3000 power for each card in your bind zone (60000-75000), then, if you have 5 or more cards, he can attack all cards in your front row!"
"What?!" Lily exclaims. Leiya then gestures with her scythe as if she's ordering Plasma Storm to attack, while it gathers lightning energy in its mouth.
"Triple Drive (none/none/Critical)! Critical Trigger! I give the power to Red Voltage, and the critical to Plasma Storm (25000-35000) (75000/Crit 1-2)! GOOOOOOO!" Yuto screams as Plasma Storm firing its lightning beam at Lily's field, disintegrating a few of her fairies, and making La Fay scream in pain. (Lily: [X][X][][][]). "Activating Red Voltage's skill (Soul 1-0)! After my Vanguard attacks, he can Stand, and if my Vanguard's Driven, add 5000 power (35000-40000)!"
"Hmm…" Lily groans.
"Boosted by Desire Wyvern, Red Voltage attacks the Vanguard (40000-53000)!" Red Voltage dive bombs La Fay to go in for the finishing blow, but just then…
"Complete Guard!" Lily declares.
Yuto is stunned by Lily's sudden solid defense. "So you've had that since the beginning of the fight. I guess I under estimated you."
"Thank you," Lily replies, "But flattery will get you nowhere. Stand and draw!" Lily pauses for a second, before holding a card she just drew, close to her chest. "Fairies… they're what sing the songs of life and bring joy to everyone and everything around them." She then looks at Yuto with determined, and slightly enraged eyes, "I will not let anyone disrupt their perfect harmony!"
Meanwhile, on the outskirts of the park, Nezumi finally arrives and spots Yuto from a distance. She smiles and shouts, "HEY YUTO!" and starts to run closer to him, but quickly realizes he's in a fight.
"I discard Maiden of Perfect Harmony from my hand as the entire cost of La Fay's Soul Drive!" Lily declares and Yuto steps back a bit, "Add 2000 power, 1 grade, and 1 drive to La Fay (G3-4/13000-15000/drive 2-3)!" Lay Fay's body is covered in a bright white light, and when it disappears, her black robes have been removed and all that remains is a dark gray tunic with a midriff with matching short shorts, and red particles begin to form around her. Her hair also becomes unbraided and flows like the wind.
"Whoa…" both Yuto, and Nezumi, who is watching from a distance, are stunned by the beauty of Lily's Vanguard.
"Activating La Fay's skill ([X][X][X][][])! I call a Fairy Token and add 10000 power to La Fay (G0/0) (G4/15000-25000), and since there are two of them, their power is now 10000 each (5000-10000) (0-10000)! I call Aria! Aria's skill ([X][X][X][X][])! I call another Fairy Token (G0/0-15000), and if my Vanguard is Driven, I can call a second one (G0/0-20000)!"
"Two at once?!" Yuto screams.
"Finally, over Aria, I call Wendy (G1/8000), and with Wendy's skill (Soul 1-0), I call a Fairy Token over herself (G0/0-25000)!"

Yuto looks up from the board to see thousands of tiny fairies flooding around Lily, with La Fay at the center of them all. "Time to end this!" Lily declares, "My left two tokens attack your Vanguard (25000-50000)!" the fairies swarm Dragonic Desire like a pack of flies (Yuto: [X][X][X][X][]), and while those continue to disorient the dragon, Lily declares her next attack, "With a boost from the token, La Fay attacks the Vanguard (25000-50000)!"
Yuto thinks for a moment, before giving in, and thinking to himself, "Even if I were to guard this, I wouldn't have enough to guard against her third attack…" Yuto just caves in and says, "No guard…"
"Triple Drive (none/none/Critical)! Critical Trigger! All effect to La Fay (50000-60000/Crit 1-2)!" La Fay orders the remainder of the fairies to start swarming Dragonic Desire, causing the dragon to wince in agony as it is overtaken by magical energy. It collapses to the ground before the fairies swarm so closely to it that it can't even be seen through them anymore. Then, with a flash of light, the fairies disperse… and the dragon is gone… (Yuto: [X][X][X][X][][]).
Yuto just hangs his head over the table with lifeless eyes as the sun begins to set. Lily sighs before she gathers her cards and walks off past Yuto. "Thank you for the fight." She says.
After she's gotten a bit of a distance away, Nezumi finally runs up to Yuto. "Hey! Yuto! Yuto! Are you okay?" she asks shaking him a little.
The boy finally regains his senses and looks at her. "Oh, hey Nezumi."
"Are you okay? What did that girl do to you?" she asks, then assumes a fighting stance, "Did she hurt you? I'll give her a piece of my mind!"
Yuto chuckles at her antics and says, "It's okay Nezumi, I'm alright."
"Are you sure?"
"Positive." Yuto replies with a nod. He then remembers something, "Oh right! I need to give you some of my points." The two of them hold their phones together, as Yuto's point counter goes down and Nezumi's goes up from 0. She then sees his total and grows concerned.
"Are you sure you should be giving me points?" she asks, "You don't have very many left after that fight."
"It'll be fine. There's still 2 more days in the first round." He tells her, "We'll make it to the finals yet!" and gives her a head pat.
"Yeah, of course we will!" she says with a fist pump.
Meanwhile, in another part of the city, Alex is wandering the city looking for opponents. "Crap, the day's almost over!" she says, "I gotta find at least one more person for today!" Just as she says this, she turns a corner and bumps into someone she wasn't expecting. She looks up to see a young man wearing a dark gray sweater, brown spiky hair with a headband and wearing earbuds. He notices her and looks down at her on the ground. "It's you…" Alex mutters, "Akiya Kojiro…"

It's nearing the end of the first day of Fighter's Royal. As Alex is looking for some last-minute opponents, she comes across the man she met at Card Capital prior to the tournament, Akiya Kojiro.
