Chapter seventeen – A big battle against all odds
Link lets go of Miles, Cream and Cheese to go walk up to the one shouting so loud and says, "What is the problem?". Botrick says "Monsters not too far from here are coming and a very large horde of them too! I was sent to warn the village by someone while she keeps them at bay!". Link says "Thank you for the warning. You can go and relax while we handle the problem.". Link pulls out a Red Rupee and gives it to Botrick saying "Go to the inn and get something to eat since you must have used up your energy getting here by foot.". Botrick says "Thank you kind sir! Be careful please!". Link says, "I will since I am not alone on this.' Miles says, "Link's right because he has Cream, Cheese and I to help out!" Miles asks, "How close are they?". Botrick says "The monsters are approaching Kakariko bridge.". Miles says, "Thank you.". Miles than says "Shall we deal with a horde of monsters everyone?". Cream, Cheese, and Link shout while raising their fist in the area 'Yeah! / Chao!' Link says "Everyone! This fight will be a difficult and we must be ready for anything! Gather some weapons so we can head out!' Miles, Cream and Cheese nods in understanding which they gather swords, spears, shields, and bows. The four than head out the village the way Link and Miles entered.
They are now outside Kakariko village on foot to Kakariko bridge and passed Hestu along the way. As they approached, they see on the other side of the bridge a very large swarm of moblins and bokoblins trying to get to the bridge only to be pushed back by someone wearing a purple with parts of it being white coat that has a hood held together by an emblem that had a red stone and underneath wearing a black long sleeve with long black pants while wearing shoes that are mostly white that had some brown. The individual is wielding a staff that had three gemstones on it being green, blue and yellow casting magic spells. Miles, Cream, Cheese and even Link looked in awe how that individual was holding back a large army of monsters. Cream whispers "Miles. Is that who I think it is?". Miles whispers back "I think so, but we won't know for sure unless we help out."
Meanwhile the individual was getting absolutely exhausted casting spell after spell after spell from her wand while thinking (They just keep on coming. It is like whenever I kill one of them another three more take its place. I hope the traveler made it to the village to warn everyone to get ready. I must keep trying even if I face an early grave. Even if it seems hopeless, I do hope for a miracle to happen.). After casting another spell, the individual who held off so many monsters for so long collapsed in absolute exhaustion while thinking and trying to take deep breaths (I am just too tired to keep fighting. I tried my best, but sadly it is not enough. It looks like this is the end for me, but I went out fighting at least.).
Back with Miles and everyone else they see that the individual has collapsed. Miles turns to the others and says "This is bad! We must lend a hand to the one that had fought hard! Are you all ready?". Cream nods in response. Cheese nods next in response. Finally Link nodes in response. Miles says "Charge!" before they start run across the bridge to change at the large swarm. Meanwhile the individual looks over in amazement on who is attacking the monsters thinking (That is Miles 'Tails' Prower, Cream the Rabbit and Cheese the Chao! They came to help me in my hour of need. Who is the other and why does he look so familiar? I need get up and help them!). The individual tries to get up but is struggling with what little strength that is left to do so. The individual is thinking (I must keep trying to get up to help them.). Miles has out a sword and shield out; Cream has out a spear out and Link has a bow out to hit the enemies from behind while switching to a sword and shield for the close enemies. Cheese tackles some of them. They start killing some of them with more just taking their place. They get separated from one another during the fight minutes in. After fighting for a whole long while Miles is thinking to himself (They just keep coming! There is just too many of them. We need to take a whole bunch out and fast otherwise we won't last long at this rate. There had to be a way, but what!). Miles takes a quick look around while dodging and attacking. Miles happens to see some TNT barrels on the ground all over thinking (That's It! The idea will be risky and very dangerous, but it might be the answer we need to thinning out the horde finally.). Miles shouts "Link! Cream! I have an idea on how to take down the horde of monsters at once!" Link while killing some monsters that were approaching him heard what Miles said answers back as loud as possible "What is the idea, Miles?!". Miles than says "Look at the TNT on the ground!". Cream as she is dodging and attacking with a spear shout back "We just need to blow it up! Great thinking Miles since they will serve as a very big explosion killing the monster horde. How do we light them on fire?!". Link answers back loudly while dodging and slashing "With Bombs and fire arrows is how we will do it Cream! Great thinking Miles as always!". Link makes his ways to Cream through a horde of monster and gives her some fire arrows than says "I will place the bombs get ready to make a clear shot at one of the barrels. You can do this Cream. Miles believes in you and so do I.". Cream says with a smile "Thank you for trusting me Link. You can count on me.". Link nods with a smile and makes his way through the horde to place a round bomb from his slate at one area then a square one in another area. Miles and Cheese make there way over to Cream as Link was getting his remote bombs in to place. Cream starts to take aim with a fire arrow waiting for a moment to fire while Miles and Cheese make sure to cover her so she can focus. Link makes his way back and says "When I give the signal launch that arrow at the barrel on the far left while I will set off the bombs blowing up the ones on the right side. If timed just right Miles' idea can be put into motion.". Cream nods understanding and takes aim while waiting for the signal. One big one tries to hit Cream, but Miles deflects the hit. Link than says "Now Cream! Fire!". Cream lets the arrow fly hitting the barrel in the center and after not long after Link has the bombs go off on the other side. A chain reaction of explosions started a domino effect where multiple monsters were dying left and right. The once large horde got cut down to only a hand full of monsters. Miles says in satisfaction "It worked the monster horde is cut to only five left now! Great job everyone!" Link says, 'Let's kill the last of them while we have the chance everyone!' The four charges at the last five monsters. Cheese charges at one and knocks it down allowing Link to finish it off. Miles kills ones with his sword. Cream kills one with her spear. Link kills the fourth one with his bow. All that remains is one that happens to be a Wizzrobe wearing a red cloak with a birdlike apperance that had been summoning monsters the entire time. The monster tries to get away by floating to summon more only to get hit by a magical projectile killing it destroying every bit of the horde.
Miles, Cream, Cheese, and Link turn to the one who made the last shot being none other than the one was collapsed on the ground before saying "I am so glad that is finally over. Thank you very much all of you for coming to help me in my hour of need. I did not think I would have lived to see another day had you all not have come. That was great idea you had taking them out by the way. I must ask did he make it safe to the village.' The individual took off the hood revealing a woman that had short brunette hair with it a few strands curling with green eyes and a smile that show gratitude and relief. Miles and Cream both thought out (It's her! It is really her. She is real!). The individual continues to say "Allow me to introduce myself to all of you. My name is Zoe." As Miles was about to introduce himself, but Zoe beat him to the punch by saying 'You're Miles 'Tails' Prower.' She than looks at Cream saying, 'You're Cream the Rabbit.' She than looks at Cheese saying 'Finally you're Cheese the Chao.' Miles, Cream and Cheese were absolutely floored that Zoe knew who they are. Miles says "I never would ever imagine meeting Zoe the spell casting sage either. How do you know who we are Zoe?". Zoe says with a smile "Well Miles, Where I come from you three are fictional characters from a video game series is how I know all of you. How do you know me?". Miles says with a smile "You too are a fictional character from where we are from. An indie character to be precise. Cream, Cheese, and I have played your two games Zoe.". Cream says "I always hoped to meet you if you were real Zoe, and I am very glad you are real. While very brave trying your hardest to take on the large swarm of monsters, but you should not have done so alone Zoe. What would have happened if we not got to you in time?". Cheese says "Chao! / That is right Zoe!". Zoe responds back with "I understand what you are trying to say Cream. I have been so used to doing a lot myself for a long time that I end up forgetting my limitations at times. Thank you, Cheese.". Link walks up to Zoe and says "My name is Link. Cream and Cheese are right and that no man or woman can do everything by themselves. You shouldn't have to be afraid to ask for help. That is a lesson I learned right away. Miles helped me a lot since we both met up and started traveling together.". Miles says, "Zoe to answer your question if he made it to the village that answer is yes.". Zoe thought to herself (Of Course! Link from the Legend of Zelda. I have not played Breath of the Wild and must have been transported into that version of Hyrule.). Zoe says "You're right Link. I will be sure to make sure that lesson sticks. I am very glad he made it Miles. Is it alright to head over to the village?" Miles says "Sure Zoe. We need to head back anyway since it is getting dark out and it has been a very long day." The sun was almost down after a very long day.
Miles, Cream, Cheese, Link and Zoe started the long track back to the village but made a quick stop at Hestu. Hestu says "Miles, Link and Cheese good to see you again!" Cream asks "Miles. Who is he?". Miles says "Cream. Zoe. Meet Hestu he was the reason I got the storage device as well as my googles got enchanted to not break as well as hidden abilities and why Cheese got the outfit that makes it possible to take a hit.". Miles turns to Hestu and says "Hestu meet Cream the Rabbit who is my girlfriend, and this is our new friend Zoe. I was wondering if you can help them like you have Cheese, Link, and I.". Zoe is shocked that Miles already considers her a friend despite only just met. Hestu says "I will do that for you Miles since I saw the battle all of you just fought.". Hestu does his dance for a bit and had some magic leave his maracas. Zoe got a red gemstone she never seen before as well as a fourth slot on her wand. Zoe also got her cloak upgrade to resist magical and physical attacks. Cream light blue ribbon got enhanced that will not break and hidden abilities waiting to be discovered. Cream was given pouches on her traveler's outfit belt to store items, weapons, and other important stuff. Cream and Zoe took in what they received in awe. They both said, "Thank you Hestu!" Hestu responds with "Happy to help Cream and Zoe! I will stick around for a little bit longer, but I need to head home soon.". Miles says "I understand Hestu. Thank you very much for everything. Be safe ok.". Hestu says "I will and same with all of you.". They all nod in understanding and wave goodbye to Hestu to make their way back to Kakariko Village.
As they were entering the village the villagers cheered for them. Botrick approaches them and says "You did it! I am glad you are all ok especially you Zoe.". Zoe smiles and says "I am glad you made it and managed to get some help. I wanted to thank you because had Miles and the others have not found me, I would have been dead.". Botrick says 'I cannot take all the credit since it was because of you I was able to make it, but you're so very welcome for getting you help Zoe.' Zoe asks, "What will you do now and will you be alright?" Botrick says "I will be since I will stick around for a little bit before moving on.". He waves goodbye before turning around heading inside. Miles says 'Hey Zoe. Want to get something to eat.' Zoe's stomach growling and she says, "That would be a nice Miles since it has been a while since I had something to eat.". The group of five travel off in the direction to get something to eat after the day they had.
How did Zoe end up in Hyrule, Will she join Miles, Cream, Cheese and Link on their quest and finally What awaits our heroes during the journey?

First off Meet Zoe who is the protagonist from Alwa's Awaking and the sequel Alwa's Legacy which are two games made by Indie company known as Elden Pixels. In preparation when Metroid Dread came out on October 2021, I wanted to play these games to get myself ready for that game. After playing both the games back-to-back Zoe became one of my all-time favorite female protagonist characters. I just knew I had to include her in my story and make her the first new one to introduce. I implore you to play the games or at least the second game since she has such awesome character development. When I asked Elden Pixel on their twitter page a few questions regarding Zoe and Mikael Forslind actually got back to me on the question in no time which I really appreciate it. I did also ask if a third game would happen which he responded with maybe someday since they have two other games that they wanted to do first. I have high hopes for Elden Pixel on what they make since they impress me with what they do with the Metroidvaina genre. Can we get an Alwa's Awakening/Alwa's Legacy and a Zoe tag added please at some point? Beside praising the games, I am proud of this chapter and was the last thing I wrote as of December 13th, 2021, on my phone's note section. I did make a few changes since the writing as I transferred it over. I wonder if you caught one thing regarding the horde battle. Zoe will not be the only one I introduce in the story. I hope you have enjoyed this one. The whole point of the battle is Cream to get better with her archery skills. Now I must write new chapters from scratch for the first time in over four months and I did get a lot of new ideas for the story in a span of time. Just as a heads up it will be a while for the next chapter of this story since I will need to write from scratch.
