Priya, Rajesh's sister and top of her class at Cambridge University, has returned to town. When she was in California, She and Leonard used to play around without anyone noticing. He used to sneak up at night, going to her hotel and having a good time. He remembered asking Priya too many times to take their relationship to the next level, but she always said "No."
He led Priya to the restroom and gave her directions. Priya dragged him for a wild, tempestuous kiss before they parted ways. He usually enjoys the foreplay of not being caught in public, but this time he refused before he could respond to the kiss.
"I-I'm sorry, Priya. I'm dating someone." was all he could say before he left the situation and went to the men's room. While washing his hands in the sink, he remembered the day Amy said yes to him.
"Is this some sort of joke? Are you making fun of me?" Amy looked at him with skepticism.
"No. No. Never will I make fun of you. What I mean is let's try to go on a real date."
"I'm not sure, but I'd like to propose an experiment. Let's try to date, just one time and reevaluate the situation after."
Leonard knew the moment he met Amy that she was, as Sheldon's term, a homo novus. If he is going to risk dating her, they will have to do this her way.
"I'm on board!" He put his hand in for a handshake deal.
"Now before this goes any further, you should know that all forms of physical contact, up to and including coitus, are off the table."
All he could say was, "May I buy another drink?" and thought to himself the excitement.
He then accompanied Amy to her apartment. He made certain she drank just enough alcohol to walk and go about her nightly regimen.
Priya returned with a bad mood. He chose to disregard her emotions, but he felt bad about it. This appears to be the first time he has turned her down.
"I should go," Howard said as he lifted his tray.
"Me as well." Leonard soon followed.
"I'm going to show Priya around our university." Rajesh chuckled and joined Priya.
Sheldon was too preoccupied with his new theory to join them for lunch. He was also informed that the theoretical physicist would take the bus because he needed to stay late to meet his paper's deadline. He has Sheldon's permission to date Amy, but he is still afraid to tell him about their future dalliance.
Amy briefed Leonard that their relationship is on probation, is not exclusive, and must be kept secret at all times until further investigation reveals a romantic connection between them. He checked his phone for her email for the rules and regulations of their first date this coming Wednesday.
Dr. Leonard Hofstadter:
Rules for the probationary date on Wednesday in the month of November, the 4th day of the year 2010.
1. All forms of physical contact are prohibited unless both parties agree.
2. Place: The male must take the female to a nice restaurant with the following variety (the female's favorite foods such as sushi, Italian, pizza)
Note: The female is allergic to avocado and penicillin.
3. The bill must be split in half.
4. If another activity was planned by the male after dinner, he should notify the female 72 hours in advance for her preparations.

Dr. Amy Farrah Fowler
He was amused by the technicalities of this one-of-a-kind girl. They spent the majority of their time in his room, hidden from everyone, talking on Skype. He admitted to appreciating their intellectual exchange. He occasionally taught Amy some Klingon words, which she eagerly learned.
On Wednesday, after work, he drove back to their apartment, showered and wore a suit and tie. He fixed his hair, and when he was sure it was perfect and neat, he walked down the stairs. He'll be at Amy's in 30 minutes.
He knocked at exactly 7 pm to give her satisfaction.
"I've received your response. Your plan is to eat at Pasta Varenna and then watch De vrais mensonges."
He looked up, pleased with himself. He was knowledgeable that Amy enjoyed watching French films. He investigated her using Sheldon's laptop and phone. He uses all of the information he has to plan this date. He hoped it would work for a woman who had never been in a romantic relationship and who had never been treated special.
They discussed their jobs. He brought up Howard's background check with FBI Agent Paige. He skipped the part where he tried to practice the line he'd use on this date with her.You are beautiful. You pop, sparkle and buzz electric. I'm going to pick you up at eight, show you a night you will never forget. Amy would never fall for that, he laughed at himself for his embarrassment. She is unique. Beautifully unique.
She told him about her work with Howard Hughes Medical Institute neurobiologists on the journal Neurogenetics: Advancing the "Next-Generation" of Brain Research. He expressed his admiration for her efforts and read the article while eating a grilled chicken breast sandwich.
Sheldon slept for a long time on the bus. While walking to the closest bus stop, he saw her in a window of an Italian restaurant which he doesn't bother to know the name. His ex-girl-who's-a-friend-but-not-his-girlfriend, with a random homo erectus. He can only saw the back of her date. She's laughing, smiling, and having a pleasant conversation. She appears to be comfortable. She is happy without him. She moved on from him. Amy, the only Homo Novus he encountered, and possibly his only intellectual equal.
Sheldon is unable to describe the sensation in his chest. He should not have ended their relationship for a second time. He no longer has the opportunity to speak with her. According to Amy's terms after they modified their friendship agreement from their first break up, if Sheldon made an impulsive decision, they would terminate the contract permanently.
He kept walking to the bus stop. He sat with a homeless man on the filthy seats. He no longer gives a damn. He just wanted to go home and asked Leonard to explain what was bothering him.
After dinner, they drove to LOOK Dine-In Cinemas Glendale to continue their itinerary. He wasn't obligated to buy her any snacks, but he did buy a large bag of popcorn for her to share during the movie.
In the middle of the film, when Émilie becomes dissatisfied with not receiving love letters from her secret lover, Leonard closes the gap between him and Amy.
"Amy, I know all forms of physical contact are restricted, but we can hold hands on a real date, according to social protocol." He notified her. They were so close that he could smell the H & S shampoo, which was probably menthol.
"All right," agreeing to his proposal.
He took her hands and slowly intertwined them. He offered a sweet smile. This is brand new. He felt like a teen on his first date, with an intelligent girl at the top of their class, and he was the only one who saw just how precious she is.
He drove her back to her apartment and accompanied her to the front door. After saying goodbye, she looked at him as if she is asking for permission. He nodded. She gave him a peck on the cheek. He closed his eyes. He couldn't hide a slight grin on his face.
On his way home, still smiling, he found Sheldon seated in his spot, out of this world.
"What are you up to?"
"Leonard, how did you move on from Penny?" he asked after a few moments, not even close to Leonard's inquiry "I intend to make Amy jealous. I want her to come crawling back to me, begging to be my girl/friend once more. And where are you from this late at night?"
"I was in a meeting with the donor of my grant." Leaving out the first question. Since it's November, he made Sheldon a warm cocoa before going to bed
He got an email from his date while lying in bed.
Leonard Hofstadter, Ph.D.
I will demand your evaluation exactly one week from today (9 p.m.). After we evaluate the date, we can either continue our relationship or end it and return to the status quo.

He had no idea whether the note was positive or negative. Amy, of course, will not reveal her thoughts on him. He fell asleep after turning off his phone.
Sheldon took the rest of the week off from work. On Friday, he went to UCLA, walking down the hall just as Amy was about to eat her lunch. Amy noticed her right away in the hallway. She gave him a polite nod.
Sheldon made an attempt to ignore her but he is unable to. He wants to be her boy/friend once more. Amy was alone in the cafeteria when he noticed her. He sat across from her at the same table.
"What brings you here, Sheldon?"
"I was with Maggie McGeary, a postgraduate student in theoretical physics. We met at Lucky Baldwin's, you know, Pasadena's most popular Irish watering hole,. I'm dating her," he said, smiling slightly. This is a great approach. Amy will undoubtedly be bitter and jealous. She will return to him and beg to be his girl/friend.
"Oh great," she said, smiling. "I thought you said you weren't interested in dating before."
"Well, I'm a man, and guys have needs."
"Good for you, Sheldon; I never thought you had it in you." She stood up and took her tray. "I have to return to my lab. Enjoy the rest of your day with Maggie McGeary."
Amy returned to her lab, she doesn't care if Sheldon has a new girlfriend or is dating a girl. She realized he wasn't just interested in her. He could date a girl from a bar but not her. Maybe because she was so unattractive, so ugly, she reasoned.
Her phone sent her a notification. A text message from her date, two days ago.
Dr. Leonard Hofstadter: Amy, good afternoon. Remember to eat your lunch. I'm missing you.
She felt heat in her chest. She smiled and forgot about her encounter with Sheldon. Leonard, this sweet guy, always messages her to eat, to sleep early, to discuss neuroscience or physics. He listened to her. He paid attention to her. He notices every little detail about her.
"I should begin to analyze our date."
