Chapter 5
"Busted!" Rajesh shouted behind Leonard and Amy.
They dragged him to his hotel room, locked the door, taped him in a chair, and put a pillow case on his head.
"What are you, lunatics, doing?" He tried to break free.
Ignoring every word he said, they were thinking of a plan for what to do with him and their situation. They know he can hear every word they say.
"Do you want me to kill him? Done. " Amy said, laughing and giving Leonard a small wink.
"No, of course not." rejecting Amy's idea. Leonard understands what Amy is thinking, but Rajesh may not take it as a joke.
"I trained Ricky how to smoke. I can train him to shoot a poison dart. No jury would convict us 'cause people love monkeys. "
"Guys, I promise I'll never tell anyone. Please let me go." The astrophysicist begged for his freedom. "I would be willing to do anything, a pinky swear, a cross my heart gesture, or even a blood pact. Please spare my life. " Amy removed the pillow case covering his head.
"See?" She looked at Leonard. "Problem Solved. He would never tell anyone. "
"Okay. Please don't blab about us being in a relationship. " Raj nodded. "Just let us inform them. You know, Sheldon is on a path to becoming an evil villain."
"Leonard, how can you do this to Sheldon?"
She told him the whole story from the very start; Sheldon cutting all ties with Amy; Leonard helping with her mother's ruse; their experimental date; Sheldon's new girlfriend; her parents meeting Leonard; and the time she agreed to be Leonard's girlfriend.
"Sheldon doesn't have a girlfriend! He's making all that to make you jealous!" Seeing Amy's shocked face, "Oh, no. If you did know, would you still agree to be in a romantic relationship with me?" He sat down, lowered his head, and put his hands on her palms.
"Yes, of course. You're the one I'm with right now. It's not a competition." She went close to Leonard and held his shoulder. "I can assure you that Sheldon and I are just colleagues."
"How about Penny?" Rajesh added.
"Will you shut your damn mouth?" After getting the tape again to cover his mouth, Leonard stood up and shouted.
"Why would Penny be involved in this? She's with Zack." She looked at Rajesh with confusion.
"Bro/Girl codes, you can never be with your friend's exes." Rajesh explained that her situation is not in a good position. "You violated a rule. They are going to trash talk about you for sure. It's a betrayal. "
Leonard saw the blood draining from Amy's face, so he went to Amy. Realizing that all of this dating is his idea, he blamed himself. He fondled his palm around Amy's waist.
"Hey, hey. I'll tell Penny and Sheldon." He lifted her head to look into his. "I will tell them. Don't worry about it. I had it all planned. I promise, you'll never lose your friends. I will never let anybody hurt you."
"Leonard Hofstadter, that's the most romantic I've ever heard." Rajesh cried at Leonard's sweet words.
Two weeks after the symposium, Leonard is still making the plan on how to tell Penny and Sheldon and the good news is Rajesh kept his mouth shut. He knocked on Penny's door to drop the item off. She opened the door and went to the kitchen while he sat on her couch.
"Let me ask you something. If your friend dated someone, but he did not. And, in fact, you're dating her now. Does that make you a bad person?" He found her a little agitated, but he still inquired about recent events. It's now or never. Additionally, he has to inform Penny about his girlfriend's situation and will ask her to not cut her as a friend.
"It depends." She kept looking at the kitchen bar.
"I have to tell you something, but you promise not to tell anybody. Amy and I are dating." He found Penny's face shocked. "Did you hear what I said?"
"I'm pregnant." Lifting the 2 pregnancy tests from the table. "Oh my God. I'm pregnant with Zack."
He doesn't know if that's a relief, but he is grateful for the baby, but maybe, for Penny, it's not great news. He provided all the comfort he could give to Penny. He stayed there until she passed out from crying. He laid her on the bed, covering her with a blanket.
Now, Penny is out of the picture.
Sheldon went very cold towards Amy after their lecture in Big Sur. He still works with her, goes to her laboratory, and writes their paper, but he can't believe he lost this battle. Their paper was published but they have to continue as he is thinking this is his way to get the Nobel Prize. He knew he could make an equation to prove that physics could explain the process of thought in the human brain.
He can't help but notice the flowers and notes in her office, which now looks like a garden. Maybe, the whole boyfriend thing is a ploy to get her under his skin.
"Who's he, Amy? Tell me. " He pulled her hand to stop her from what she was currently doing. "The thought of you, with any other man aside from me, is repellent."
"I'm sorry this causes you discomfort, but based on the currently established parameters of our relationship, I can put myself in any repellent situation I want."
"Amy, I'm serious." He looked into her eyes.
"What's it to you, Sheldon? You have a girlfriend. "
"You can't, I don't…" He could not finish his own sentence. He wanted to show her the Relationship Agreement, a binding covenant that, in its 31 pages, enumerates, iterates, and codifies the rights and responsibilities of Sheldon Lee Cooper, here and after known as the boyfriend, and Amy Farrah Fowler, here and after known as the girlfriend.
"What's your problem with me having somebody look after me? You're in a relationship, you don't hear me bitching about it "
She's right. He didn't tell her the truth. Amy's having a new boyfriend is the cause of his actions for not telling her. It's his fault. Karma is really a bitch, he thought.
While avoiding everyone except Leonard, Rajesh is trying not to spoil their relationship with anyone. Leonard agreed with him to find her a grade 10 beautiful, sexy girl to date. He informed him about his fantasy and poetry about Howard's current girlfriend, and he wanted Leonard to find a girl for him like Bernadette.
That Saturday, the group was invited by Dr. Sieberg to a fund-raising party where they were obligated to attend. Sheldon didn't take it seriously, but he, Leonard, and Howard will definitely attend. This is his opportunity to meet pretty girls, and Leonard promises to be his wingman.
Wearing a gray suit, pink long sleeves, and brown necktie, he looked at himself in the mirror. He will definitely go home tonight with a beautiful girl, make passionate love, and they will live happily ever after, just like all the rom-coms he watched.
Leonard, on the other hand, wore a corduroy suit and a brown striped tie. They were introduced by Dr. Seiberg to Mrs. Latham and her daughter, Emily. He found an opportunity for Rajesh. Emily Latham will be their target. Unfortunately, she is deaf and mute. He asked Wolowitz to use sign language to help them communicate while he talked to Mrs. Latham.
"Mrs. Latham, the first machine I turn on in the morning is the helium-neon laser, because it needs to warm up."
"I no longer care, dear. But don't worry, I really enjoyed meeting you this evening. Tell me about that Indian scientist. Dr. Kooth-whatever it is."
"Oh. He's an astrophysicist. He discovered an interplanetary object outside the Kuiper belt and was once included in People magazine's 30 Under 30 to Watch, granting him some form of celebrity status and a larger office for his work. He's a well-accomplished scientist." He has to sell Rajesh and not mention any negative characteristics.
"I see. My daughter seems to like him. Is he an alcoholic? "
Coming late to the party, Sheldon noticed his friends talking with an old woman well past her prime, seeking to augment her social status by doling out her late husband's ill-gotten gains and a young girl, possibly the old gal's daughter.
The first thing he did was hit the bar. Leonard was there, so someone has his back even if he gets drunk. Usually, he doesn't like the taste of the intoxicating liquid, but he found on the internet that it can help to numb the pain in his heart. Any two drinks will help him forget her. He didn't talk to anyone and stayed in the free bar.
"If she detects that I am suffering, she will undoubtedly take me back."
Rajesh found him and asked him to come with them, but he refused. He doesn't have the will to shake hands, talk or even acknowledge any benefactor. He wanted to see Amy, to tell her every unspoken word he had hidden all this time. He stood up and didn't care what Rajesh was talking about.
"If I get there now, I swear I can alter her mind and turn everything around."
Amy was preparing an orange juice for Penny, who was spending the night in her needs someone to clear her mind about the baby inside her.
"Leonard told me. Don't hide it anymore. " Penny said. "I didn't know why Leonard needed to keep it a secret. I knew it from the start; I'm not the one for him. "
Amy didn't know how to respond to that. "Did you tell Zack? What are your plans for the new fetus? "
"I don't know. You saw the guy. He doesn't even know how to spell fetus and he waves at trucks."
Again, Penny cried on Amy's shoulder. And Amy was there, didn't even know how to comfort a friend in this kind of situation. This is the first time a person has come to her.
"Don't worry about you and Leonard, I approve of it. I have more problems to think about. "
Amy helped her friend lay on the bed. She chose to sleep on the couch due to previous events involving sharing a bed with Penny. Her friend and the baby need a good rest. She and her night terrors would not be the reason for their not having a good night's sleep.
Knock, knock, knock. Amy!
Knock, knock, knock. Amy!
Knock, knock, knock. Amy!
It's 12 m.n, but Sheldon wants to see her, hoping that she's still awake. He heard someone approaching the door and opened it.
"Maggie is not real. I drew it up in order to make you jealous. I struggle to come up with the theory of Quantum Cognition, just to be with you, work with you, keep you arms-reach because I want to give you this, the relationship agreement. "
He pulled out the paperwork and handed it to her, but she didn't move a finger. She said nothing, just stared at his pathetic drunken images.
"From the first moment in that coffee shop, I knew that there was something special between us. And those feelings have only gotten stronger with time. I tried to fight it and hold myself up. I don't know what it was back then, but now, with the help of alcohol, I want to tell you, I want you. I love you, Amy Farrah Fowler". He did not waste any time, he had to tell her.
Sheldon heard nothing. She didn't say a word. The silence between them was deafening, as he could hear his own heartbeat, and could feel every drop of sweat on his forehead.
"Please Amy, choose me, pick me, love me."
