The last one! I swear!
Sighing as she sat at an open cafe, Noire closed her eyes and waited. In front of her was a steaming cup of coffee.
"There you are!" A familiar voice caught her attention. Noire opened her eyes and a ghost of a smile came to her face as she saw Uni. "Neptune called me and said that you were coming over."
Uni slowed down as she got close to the table and suddenly felt a rush of nervousness while looking at her other dimension sister. Sure, she looked exactly like her Noire, but the red hair, red lolita dress and red eyes were somewhat intimidating. It wasn't that they were cruel or anything like that...
The eyes just seemed empty.
"Well, I wanted to explore Lastation and Neptune wanted to take Chrome around Planeptune some more." Noire shrugged and flicked her red hair behind her. "She told me that she'd get me a guide to show me around." Her lips curled upwards slightly. "I'm glad that she meant you."
Uni felt a bit flustered and sat down when Noire motioned for her to sit down. "I'm sorry," she said when Noire gave her a curious look, "you're kind of..."
"Intimidating?" Noire asked and Uni nodded, sighing as Noire figured it out. "Forgive me, my entire life until I met Neptune and Chrome was nothing but betrayal and pain." The redhead looked away slightly, irritation on her features. "I'm glad that Neptune and Chrome helped Uni while I recovered, but I never had that, so it's just a habit of mine."
Uni had a confused frown on her face. "...What's it like?" Noire turned her head and looked at her other dimension sister in confusion. "The Fearicite I mean. Neptune never tells us anything about it, other than she's glad it's gone."
"Well, technically it's not gone." Noire told her and pointed to her chest. "The last bits of Fearicite are sealed in me. If I die, it'll disappear forever." She sighed softly and leaned forward slightly. "What's the Fearicite like?" Noire asked rhetorically as she closed her eyes. "...When it fully awakens in you, your heart shatters into pieces, leaving nothing but an empty void. From that void is a cold, empty feeling of infinite despair and darkness." She opened her eyes and looked at Uni with her usual empty expression, "a cold hand of pure wrongness engulfs what's left of you, killing you, scarring you, changing your body," she idly played with her red hair, "this used to be black, by the way. The Fearicite causes you to be reborn as a monster."
"...But you don't seem like one."
Noire scoffed at her. "No matter what I look like or how nice I seem, remember that I'm nothing more than a monster in human flesh. Pray you never need to see what I really am." A disgruntled look came to her face. "I apologize, when I think about my life or what I am, I turn into a grump." At least that's what Filyn had told her.
"Well," Uni smiled at her, "I don't think you're a monster. If you were, I don't think you'd be here." She blinked as Noire simply snorted and pointed behind her. Uni turned in confusion and her eyes went white and blank as she saw S-Sha and the Doggoo Man walking away from them. "Ah! Well..."
"Doggoos are monsters too, aren't they?" Noire asked as she lowered her hand and had a slightly amused look on her face as Uni turned back to her, flustered. "Don't worry, I know that monsters can be good too."
Uni was silent as she nodded at the redheaded version of her sister. "So, um, you wanted to see Lastation then?" Noire nodded as Uni got up. "Okay then, let's go explore it then."
Noire nodded as she got up and followed after Uni. 'This place is really peaceful.' She mentally sighed as she looked around as Uni showed her around. 'This is...' Her thoughts trailed off as she saw what looked like someone being assaulted. "Uni, is it common around here to have someone being attacked in bright daylight?" Noire asked as she pointed down the street and towards an alleyway.
"What?" Uni turned around and stared in shock. "What? No! Come on! We need to stop that."
"I figured as much." A flash of black light had Uni gasping and shivering from cold and wrongness that suddenly eminated from Noire. "I'll deal with this." Black Void said, her voice as cold as the air around her as she flew towards she saw the people disappear to.
"Ah crap!" Uni yelped and transformed, flying after Black Void to hopefully avoid some bloodshed.
She did like the outfit and the red tips in Black Void's hair though, it was kind of unique as far as Black Sister was concerned.

Grimacing as she was slammed against the wall, Linda cracked an eye open to look at the guy who was pinning her against the wall. "Listen, I don't have your money."
"It was due today." The guy told the ash-colored girl. "So, either you cough it up, right now, or I'll take it out on your body." He smirked at her as she looked horrified. "So, we can do this the easy way, the hard way or the fun way."
"I have no problem with the hard way." A new voice spoke up and the guy cried out in pain as he was smashed on the side of his head by the flat of a large weapon, causing him to go flying away from Linda, revealing Black Void. "So, what was going on here? A drug deal or something?"
"I, um, owed money to his boss and I couldn't get enough money by today." Linda said, gulping as Black Void narrowed her eyes. "I, um, I'm an ex-con, it's hard to find work when you have a rap sheet the size of Green Heart's tits."
Black Void rolled her eyes. "Re-evaluate your life." She turned and walked towards the guy who was getting back to his feet. "If your decisions led you to this point in your life, you need to do something else so you don't end up like this. Go work at a warehouse as a forklift operator or something. No one questions anyone who works at a warehouse. Just show up on time."
Linda nodded and watched as Black Void stopped above the downed man. "Shit, she's scary."
"As for you." Black Void kicked the man so that he was on his back and narrowed her eyes at him. "You're no one anyone would miss." She raised her sword, pointed downwards as her eyes seemed to glow faintly. "Frankly, I'm doing the world a favor."
"WAIT!" Moments before she thrust her sword down, Black Sister was in-between her and the downed man, her arms spread open wide. "Stop! Please! He's not worth it!"
Black Void narrowed her eyes, but didn't lower her sword. "Leaving humans like him alive will only lead to more misery and suffering in the long run, Uni. Move aside. I have no wish to harm you."
Black Sister shook her head. "If I have to, Noire, I'll fight you. I don't want to, but you aren't going to kill him. Let the courts have their say with him."
Black Void scoffed at that. "He'll probably be out in a day." Closing her eyes, she let out a long, suffering sigh before releasing her transformation back into her human form. "...You're just like my Uni." She told Black Sister before turning and walking off. "Deal with them how you want."
Black Sister sighed in relief and turned to the guy, who was blubbering about being thankful. "Just shut up." She told him and looked at Linda...
...Who was no longer there. "Well, she's still good at escaping." Black Sister muttered before calling for some local police to come to her location to pick up a criminal.

Several minutes later...
Uni walked out of the alleyway after handing the local criminal over to the authorities. She was a bit surprised to see Noire leaning against the building, her red hair fluttering in the wind. "Hey..." Noire turned her head and acknowledged her with a nod. "...You know..." Uni scuffed the toe of her shoe into the ground. "You weren't wrong. About what you really were."
"...Do you hate or fear me?" Noire asked and Uni shook her head. "...I'm surprised."
"You're different than any version of my sister I've met before." Uni told her. "But I don't think you're a bad person, just... Extreme." She gave Noire a stern look. "But no killing people who commit crimes just because it's easier, okay?"
"...I make no promises." Noire said as she pushed off from against the wall. She sighed as she saw Uni's upset look. "But I'll at least try to incapacitate them first, okay?"
Uni nodded to her. "Sure. Um... I can understand why Neptune doesn't like talking about the Fearicite now." Noire blinked in confusion. "Just being near you... When you were transformed... It felt horrible."
Noire nodded and the two walked down the street. 'Be thankful you only have to feel it from the outside, Uni. Becoming a Void is an experience that I never want anyone else to ever suffer through.' She thought to herself as Uni pointed things out in the city.
And, thankfully, due to Histoire and Chrome, no one else would ever have to suffer what she and so many others had to suffer for so long.
Both the CPUs and the humans.
I just felt a REALLY strong urge to write one final What-If for Echoes of the Dark. Besides, Rule of Three.
