A/N: Hello! Thanks for joining! To everyone who has interacted with this here fic, thank you! With much ado, welcome to the forgotten side of Aphrodite's realm.

Drew awoke to her wrist buzzing. A full moon seemed to shine in through the window. Her golden bracelet glowing faintly on her wrist. She sat up but when she tried to rub it, it tugged her to get out of bed. In a daze, Drew felt herself be dragged forward.

Like a sleepwalker, Drew felt herself walk outside. She could feel the rough ground beneath her bare feet, only she felt no pain. No discomfort.

Her wrist pulled her forward. Drew followed her wrists into the woods. She knew she should feel terrified, but all she felt was purpose. A sense of warmth pulsed through her. Somehow Drew knew that no living creature was going to bother her tonight.

Drew followed what felt like a well-worn path. Finally, she seemed to have arrived. She stepped into a large glade surrounded by hundreds of torches. As soon as she stepped over the threshold, whatever magic had been compelling her vanished, leaving her wide awake. Suddenly, Drew felt tense.

What was she doing here? Why had she been brought here?

Just as suddenly Drew had something more to worry about. A heavy mist swirled in surrounding her. Blinding her. Drew blinked and crouched, ready for any sign of movement. She might not have any weapons, might not have any armor, but she was not going down without a fight.

There was movement behind her. Drew reflexively started spinning before reacting to the noise in front of her.

"Child of the Goddess of Doves," a voice called from in front of her. "For what purpose to you transgress here?"

Drew swallowed. The right words seemed to find their way to her tongue.

"I come because I was called."

"She was called." The wind seemed to whisper.

"By what token were you called?"

Drew raised her right hand. Her wrist seemed to glow. In a circle around Drew, other pieces of jewelry started to glow.

"She was invited by virtue of her first kill." The wind picked up a new whisper.

"She was invited to prove her worth. Daughter of war, are you brave enough to prove your worth?"

Drew nodded. As eerie as this scene was, it felt right in the same way her cabin back at camp had the instant she had stepped through.

"Chose one amongst us to fight. Should you manage to get a blow in, you may join our ranks. Should you fail…"

The empty wind filled in the threat.

"Darlings, the task is to fight empty handed?" Drew asked.

"Who do you choose?"

So, she wasn't going to get an answer.

Drew gazed at the circle surrounding her. She guessed there were about seven people surrounding her. At least, based on the number of glowing bracelets.

If this was a test, Drew aimed to succeed. She pointed to the speaker.

"This test continues until you successfully have contact with your opponent."

A woman dressed all in black stepped forward.

They paused, looking at each other, before Drew's opponent charged.

Drew charged as well.

Her opponent reared her leg. Drew, letting autopilot take control, skid under the leg. She scrambled to her feet hoping to surprise her opponent. Only her opponent had neatly spun and was already facing Drew's new direction.

Time for Drew's plan b.

Drew pretended to stumble a bit backward, nearly falling over in the process.

"Arlynne!" she yelped.

Drew didn't wait to see if her opponent hesitated. She leaped forward and did her best to punch the still figure in front of her. Arlynne (Drew had chosen her for a reason. She'd figured out who was speaking by the voice. Surely, that would be enough to get her) didn't even have time to dodge. Drew's hand shot forward until it was suddenly snatched by Arlynne's own. Drew stumbled and felt herself be pulled into an arms lock. She blinked back tears. She would not cry.

"I yield," she sighed.

Loud cheering erupted from the 7 other people around her. It seemed losing did not constitute failure.

"Drew Tanaka," Arlynne interrupted and the whole arena fell into silence again. "You have passed the trial of failure, as all your siblings here have done before. You have earned the right to join Aphrodite's Doves. Her graceful bringers of peace. From now on you will be expected to train until you can kill a monster without ruining a nail. In return, you will be expected to look after your weaker siblings. You will be expected to guard our existence jealously from any who know not of our nighttime dance. Do you wish to join our rank?"

That wasn't even a question.

"I do."

"Then do you take our oaths?"

"I do."

Then, Drew Tanaka, daughter of Aphrodite, do you swear yourself to the Order of the Doves? To protect those, we care about. To guard our secrecy jealously. To do your best to master the art of war so that all others may live in peace."

"I swear."

Drew's arm was released. Instead, Arlynne somehow appeared in front of Drew and offered her a hand up.

"Then rise, sister of War. Welcome to the Order of the Doves. I, as the current commander of the aspects of war, welcome you to our ranks. You have a talent for war, or you would not be here, but by being here you have guaranteed that you will never again go down as easily as you did today. Welcome to our inner circle. The circle that fights."

The mist swirled around Drew and suddenly she was wearing a white shirt and black leather jacket and pants. On the top right of the jacket, there was a sigil of a dove. With the clothing change, the mist vanished and suddenly Drew was surrounded by her siblings. They all wore the same outfits.

"Now, let's get to work!" Arlynne cheered. "Today we master the spear.
