Chapter 5: Darklord Cinder-The Holy Resistance
Menagerie is exactly what Cinder remembers, but worse. Every building she can see looks like they have been ravaged by thieves. Windows And doors are broken and feral Faunus run free. Doing whatever they want but their clothes are dirty and ripped and they still look like they don't get enough to eat.
Some approached Cinder and started to growl. She growls back and the feral Faunus backs away in fear. They still have enough senses to tell Cinder is an apex predator. From their point of view, Cinder is a lion wearing black armour.
Cinder resumed walking and used her childhood memory to find that church Hope is in.
Walking the streets that frighten her childhood no longer has any effect on her now. It could be because she's now an adult or she's seen a lot worse.
Cinder had to make a detour because she could hear the city guards abusing their power. With her lion ears can hear their conversation. She turns her lion ears in the direction of the conversation so she can hear them better.
"Please! We don't have enough money! Just give me more time!" a woman said desperately. Cinder can hear a child crying. That was enough for Cinder to summon her keyblade glider and fly in their direction. She kept listening to their conversation.
"We did warn you what will happen if you don't pay in time," a city guard laughs darkly. They and their comrades join in the laughter.
"No! Please!" the woman shouts. She backs away and stands in front of their child.
The city guards stop in their tracks when they hear a lion's roar.
"What the hell is that!" a city guard said in a panicked tone. "A Grimm?!"
They hear the roar again but it sounds closer it sounds right above them. They look up and see Cinder in the air with her Oblivion Keyblade in hand, and fully armoured. She launches herself down to the ground and sends the guards flying back away from the woman and her child.
"Who the hell are you?!" one of the guards demanded. They soon become overwhelmed by fear when they see a person in dark armour pulling a katana out of a dead guard. Well, what's left of them.
Cinder looks over her shoulder and head motions to the women to get to safety. "Thank you, stranger!" the woman said and took her child and ran to the church Cinder was heading to. Cinder pulls Yamato out of the guard and points it to the others. A black mist starts to flow out of her and her eyes glow yellow.
Overcome by fear the guards run away from Cinder but she's too fast for them. Using her speed, Cinder cuts all of them down in the most brutal way possible. "BACK UP! WE NEED BACK-" the guard was interrupted by Cinder.
The scroll the guard was holding falls to the ground, "What's going on!? What's happening!?" a voice came from the scroll and Cinder stepped on it before the guard could ask for anything else. But the message is clear, someone is killing the city guards.
It wasn't difficult for them to find Cinder. They just have to follow the carnage and the black mist. Cinder notices them and slams a guard to the ground and steps on them, "The forces of light and dark have joined together to take your sad excuse of a ruler down," Cinder growls and resumes cutting down the city guards.
She didn't let a single one escape. They begged for mercy but Cinder gave none. Not after everything they did. The excuse, "We're just following orders" doesn't work on Cinder. She's been at the mercy of people just following orders. Never again.
Sensing an attack coming her way, Cinder jumps out of the way. It was a fireball. She turns to who threw that and it was a member of the royal guard who was floating in the sky. She has dark skin, short brown hair and brown eyes, "Amber," Cinder said.
"You heard of me?" Amber asked.
"Yeah, from my mom. Aren't you supposed to work for Ozpin?" Cinder asked.
"That man was a fool! I found one who has a better cause!" Amber said and points her staff at Cinder, "It doesn't matter who I work for! I'll bring you justice and avenge the deaths of my fallen comrades!" Amber shouts and shoots more fireballs at Cinder.
She dodges them and cuts some of them in half. Summoning her Keyblade glider and meets in the sky. The two clash weapons, "Why does someone like you have a Keyblade?!" Amber growled.
"Jealous?" Cinder chuckles.
"Like hell I am!" Amber growls. She shoots a barrage of fireballs at Cinder but she cuts them all in half and gets in closer. Amber tries to keep her away by conjuring a gust of wind. Cinder teleports and appears in front of the Fall Maiden upside down and swings her katana at her. Amber manages to block it with her staff.
Amber tumbles down when Cinder kicks her on the top of the head. She recovers, but has to defend herself because Cinder is upon her again. Amber tries to use her Maiden powers again, but Cinder is too aggressive. She can't focus, which is needed to use her powers. But she was trained in Beacon academy so Amber can block Cinder's attacks.
The way Cinder moved seemed familiar to Amber, though she can't put her finger on it. Amber can't ask Cinder due to being in a heat of combat. Also, she is focusing on seeing openings in Cinder's attacks. She sees none. Cinder is well trained.
With her Aura still intact and being high in the air, Amber can only think of winning this battle, "This criminal is wearing armour so she doesn't have her Aura unlocked," Amber thought. Once Cinder got close, Amber was finally able to use her Maiden powers.
"What?" Cinder gasped when Amber put her hand on her chest. At point-blank range, Amber fires a powerful fireball. Amber gets caught in the explosion but is confident her Aura can shield her from the blast and the fall. It almost knocked her out but Amber remained conscious.
She sees Cinder falling with her and her armour is breaking off. It's not only her armour that is damaged but her Keyblade glider too. Her katana is above her and Amber has a good idea of what will happen once they'll hit the ground.
'Cushioning' their fall with an inn, they broke through the roof and floors and landed on a table. Cinder cries out in pain when Yamato lands on her stomach.
Amber chuckles and forces herself on her feet. Her Aura did protect her but she still felt the pain, "Time to finish you off scum!" Amber smiles. "That's some armour, perfecting you from such a fall,"
"It wasn't just my armour that protected me," Cinder chuckles and despite the pain, she pushes herself onto her feet. Bits of her armour and blood fall from her. She's not attempting to pull Yamato out of her. Her blue Aura is weakly flickering. Cinder slowly walks to Amber, "Come on! Let's finish this!" Cinder growls.
Fear overwhelms Amber's heart and uses all her strength to flee from Cinder, "Some Maiden you are," Cinder smiles.
"Cinder are you all right?!" Hope shouts as he bursts through the door. He's not alone, a dark skin man wearing sunglasses and a gun arm is with him.
"Damn you look like hell!" he said.
"I feel like it too," Cinder laughs. She was about to fall because she was passing out but both men caught her.
"I got her!" the man with the sunglasses said.
"Thank you, Barret! I'll use my healing Semblance on her as we get her to the church!" Hope said and put his hands on Cinder's large wound.
Cinder wakes up to the feeling of Yamato being pulled out of her stomach, "It's alright Cinder, we're going to patch you up," Hope said as he and other priests and nuns tend to Cinder's injuries.
In the meantime, Cinder looks around, "The church looks smaller than I remembered," she said.
Hope smiles, "Well, you were a child the last time you were here,"
"Fair enough," Cinder smiles.
Once Hope and the others patched Cinder up, a nun gives her a nun's outfit, "This way," she said and leads Cinder to a room where she can change and help her put on the outfit. CInder made sure to take the Yamato with her.
As she has the nun outfit on, notices something peculiar about it. It showed off a lot of her legs, hugging both her chest and her hips tightly. She's surprised to see a boob window. She likes the knee-high brown boots though. The nun with her has the same outfit as her, "Is this a bit sexy? I don't mind but I didn't expect Hope to have his nuns wearing such exotic outfits," Cinder said.
"It wasn't father Hope's idea. It was that foul king's idea. He made a law that all churches must have their nun wear revealing outfits," the nun explains, "But on the bright side, these outfits don't hinder our movements during battle," the nun smiles.
Cinder smiles back, "True and they feel lightweight too," she looks at the remains of her armour, "Do you have someone who can fit it?" Cinder asked.
The nun shakes her head, "We do but their busy getting all the weapons and armour ready for our troops for the attack,"
Cinder smiles, "It's fine. I have Aura so I'll be fine. Say, what's your name? I'm Cinder," she said and held out her hand.
The nun smiles and shakes Cinder's hand, "I'm Aerith. Nice to meet you Cinder and welcome to the Holy Resistance,"
