sis come on." jax muttered elbowing Alexi. she looked over at him without any emotion. throughout the night jax would catch Alexi texting.
"can you take me to opie's?" she asked him quietly. "Alexi, c'mon we're celebrating." he replied she scoffed and shook her head. "al, just drink and tomorrow everything will go back to how it was. he'll come around." he said as she leaned against him. he caught the sideways glance she shot his way. "no jax it won't go back. this time is different. we're over. please just take me back." the blonde sighed but nodded.
once at opie's place Alexi unlocked the door and walked back to her room. she grabbed her largest duffle bag and started packing. she didn't know jax had followed her into the house or in her room. "what are you doing?" he asked. she jumped and whirled around. "what the fuck bro?" she snarled. he stood straighter and crossed his arms over his chest. "what are you doing?" he repeated. the green eyed trager rolled her eyes then looked around her. "what does it look like I'm doing jax? I'm packing. I'm leaving. I don't want to be here anymore. I want my mom. I want my brothers and sisters. I want people who won't sympathize with him. i want to cry and forget this ever happened." the blonde biker deflated as the brunette struggled to keep from crying as she spoke. he walked over to her as she covered her face with her hands and started sobbing.
the blonde wrapped her in a tight hug as her knees began to buckle. "cry then we'll take you to moms." he said softly as he rubbed her back. alexi shook her head. "she'll just try to get me to forgive him." jax inclined his head slightly. she had a point but there was a chance his mother would be sympathetic, alexi was her god daughter after all. "sides, she's still at the clubhouse." the pretty brunette muttered. he nodded as his God sister rested her head on his shoulder and blew out a deep breath.
jax sat down on the bed as Alexi packed. he looked around the room remembering her room at her dads. "do you remember the old place your dad's place?" he asked looking over to the brunette. Alexi turned to him with a small smile and nodded. "yeah. I do. how could i forget? but he actually still owns it. hap wanted to buy the house for us. we were there earlier.." she smiled more watching jax process that information. he stared at her dumbfounded with his mouth hanging open slightly. Alexi chuckled and went back to packing. "he what?" she nodded as she folded a shirt. "yeah, I reacted the same way. I guess Gemma kept it up after I went away to school and he moved out. its been updated slightly but my room hasn't been touched." she said looking back over to her god brother. he shook his head and smiled. "sounds like something Gemma would do." alexi chuckled in agreement. as she put the last of the clothes from her dresser in the oversized duffle. she zipped it up then looked back to jax. who was stroking his goatee.
"what?" she asked as she arched an eyebrow at him. he shook his head then smiled. after a few moments passed he said "I bet he was keeping it for you when you got married." alexi snorted and rolled her eyes as she moved to her closet. "he had no way of knowing if I was coming back from Washington." she retorted as she grabbed another big duffle from the top shelf. "nah you were definitely coming back. you missed us too much." she turned to see jax smirking. he was right not that she would let him know that.
once her clothes were packed she grabbed her make up and hair accessories. she cleaned out her bathroom then moved to her shoes. "hey al?" she stopped and looked back at jax who was holding one of the oversized duffles. "yeah jax?" she straightened up as he shifted his weight from one foot to another. "why aren't you losing your mind?" she tilted her head to the side slightly, a little confused about the question.
"I mean I figured you would've torched his bike or tried to fight him like you did back in Tacoma." the gorgeous brunette looked away not wanting the blonde to see the tears welling up in her eyes. she bit her lip and inhaled slowly before speaking. "because I'm letting him go. I'm not going to fight or embarrass myself trying to be to someone who doesn't want to be with me. what he did tonight made it very clear. what's the use fucking any of his shit up?" she spoke softly and looked around every so often so her tears wouldn't leak out.
"why aren't you crying?" he asked. she wiped at her eyes a couple times still holding her shoes to her. "now's not the time." she muttered as she started to cry. "oh shit al, I didn't mean for you to start. I was just curious that's all. I'm not used to this side of you." he spoke frantically as he came over and rubbed her back then hugged her. alexi dropped her shoes and hugged her God brother back sobbing into his shoulder. he rocked her slowly from side to side telling her quietly that she was going to be okay.
happy may have been his brother but Alexi had made a good point. she was closer to anyone in the club than happy could ever imagine to be. they all had watched her grow and struggle. thats why jax, opie and alexi had the bond that they did. they all had to cope with their fathers not being around and the dangerous side effects of club life. happy could never have that. how ever he did understand (as much as he hated it) where happy was coming from with his actions tonight. he felt the same when he met tara but tara wasn't meant for the life like Alexi was. Alexi wasn't born to sit by idly and watch. she was meant to be in the club life and if the rules were different she would've been asked to prospect as soon as she turned 18.
jax hugged his God sister tighter and kissed the side of her head before letting her go. "come on let's finish this up so we can go." he said as he took a couple steps back and picked the oversize duffle back up. alexi huffed out a breath and nodded. "alright." she muttered and bent to pick her shoes back up.
not long after they were finished and Alexi's jeep was packed. she locked up the house then took the key off her ring and handed it to jax. "please don't tell him where I am. not just yet. I need some time to heal and figure myself out." jax nodded and wrapped her in a hug. "I'll be back sometime soon." he rolled his eyes and chuckled. "why are you so dramatic?" he teased. she rolled her eyes in response. "I'm not I'm just saying."
'al, you don't need to. I know you'll be back. I don't like goodbyes al, so, wrap it up." the brunette chuckled and hugged her God brother again. this time, she hugged him as tight as she could. grateful for his friendship.
he walked her to her jeep and helped her get in
as alexi flew down the street she dialed Antonio's number hoping he wasn't away on a run. after the fourth ring he picked up.
"mana what's going on?"she heard what sounded like a party going on in the back ground.
"tonio, I need a place to stay for a while, can I stay with you?"the noise in the background cut out and she thought for a moment that the line had gone dead."what happened?"her brothers voice had an edge to it now.
"can I stay with you or not tonio? its it's late."she hiccuped
"what did he do?!"Antonio interrupted loudly and angrily.
"we broke up. for good. I'm done. I need a place to stay. i have money for rent."she said tiredly and quietly.there was a few moments of silence. well, almost silence. she could just barely make out a distant conversation in the background.
"yeah you can stay but we're talking about this when you get here."
"alright toni, see you soon."
the rest of the ride she cried off and on, losing and regaining her composure. she stopped for gas when she was ten minutes away from her brothers. she needed cigarettes as well.
she pulled up to her brothers place she couldn't help but chuckle. there, waiting on the front porch was tonio. she turned the jeep off and got out. she could feel the tears welling up and her breath hitched in her chest. she turned and covered her face.
"not here mana." tonio muttered she choked back a sob and shook her head. she'd been holding so much back. "shhhhh. its alright your home now." he said in a soothing voice as he wrapped an arm around her shoulders and guided her into the house. she cried freely not caring anymore. she was picked up and carried the rest of the way. "Alexi calma." her brother urged as she cried harder and started to gasp for air.
she sat down still holding on to her brother. "lex I need you to tell me what happened." he requested calmly. " I need you to take some deep breaths." he said and began rubbing her back. she nodded and after a few moments she was calm enough to talk. she told him everything. from the most recent fight, the house, the call from the math professor, the tattoo and his change of heart. Antonio waited til she was done talking to ask questions. after she had answered them he asked her about the tattoo and she showed him. he caught himself nodding. she was right that tattoo was his way of saying he was done.
"alright, get some sleep. e and Jorge will unpack your jeep so you have your stuff for tomorrow." she nodded and laid down suddenly exhausted. and was fast asleep quickly.
"what happened?" esai asked as Antonio sat back down in his chair. he sighed and rubbed his hands over his face. "he wanted out but was too much of a bitch to talk to her about it. so he inked her but didn't put his claim on her. botched it too. it's all fucked up." jorge looked up in surprise at this then squinted at antonio. he wasn't going to say his best friend was mistaken but he saw how the man was with Alexi. saw the love he had for her. "mano quit staring." esai chuckled and hit his shoulder snapping him out of his thoughts. "I saw it. it looks bad, man. you know how she hates birds, man." esai nodded his agreement. it was very well known that Alexi didn't like birds. "so they're done?" Jorge asked looking from one friend to another. "mano give her some time to heal before going to at her. damn." esai chuckled. antonio made a sounds that made very clear he didn't approve or appreciate the comment. "not like that tonto. they've broken up before is it for good this time? you saw how he was last time. rocking up with that other son. think he won't do it again when he sees her shits gone? hombres don't just let go of something like that easily, mano."
Antonio nodded in understanding. she packed all her shit. it seems different.
