Andromeda and Narcissa were standing behind Bellatrix who, having joined the Dark Lord shortly after Hogwarts was practicing the killing curse.
As they heard Bellatrix attempting to kill a white rose, they picked a few beans out of a box of Bertie Bott's Every Flavor beans, laughing and commenting.
As one of them giggled and said, "That's so disgusting," Bellatrix suddenly turned towards them, and with anger, she shouted, "SHUT UP!"
Andromeda and Narcissa held their box gingerly and looked at her, taken aback by her reaction to them.
The surroundings changed and now Andromeda, a little older, was standing near the lake at Hogwarts, away from the castle with trees around, with Ted Tonks. She had gone with him for a gig by the weird sisters a few years ago and shortly afterwards, she had fallen in love with him.
She was talking with Ted when they suddenly saw Bellatrix and Narcissa nearby.
Bellatrix smiled evilly and exclaimed, "You really thought you could hide this from me?!"
Ted and Andromeda looked at Bellatrix. Ted spoke, "It's okay. I'll handle this."
"No Ted," Andromeda spoke, holding his wand hand down. Then turning to Bellatrix, she declared, "Bella, this is my choice. I'm doing it my own way. You remember that, right?"
Bellatrix pointed her wand sideways and sneered, "Go this way."
Narcissa strode up to Ted and angrily spoke, "What is this? How long has this been going on for?"
Andromeda replied, "Since the weird sisters' gig."
Bellatrix, still smiling cruelly, said, "You remember, all those years ago, when we saw the Mudblood, right here?!"
Narcissa suddenly pushed Andromeda against a tree and holding her up with her left arm, she demanded, "Explain yourself!"
"Hey!" Ted cried out and pulled out his wand, but suddenly, was struck by a spell from Bellatrix's wand and fell down to the ground with a grunt.
"I tried to tell you!" Andromeda tried to explain, "Did you think I really had a job at Gringotts?"
"You lied?" Narcissa spoke, "All those times you left the house, you were with him? I don't understand."
Andromeda declared, "Because, unlike you two, I don't care! I don't care about power or riches, or blood. We're all magical! Even if he didn't have a single drop of magical blood, it wouldn't matter to me. You all lead a life with no true love!"
Narcissa retorted, pushing her back slightly, "I love you, myself and Lucius. We're purebloods. We love each other. You don't need to prove a point by trying to taint our family."
Andromeda cried out, "How on earth does marrying Ted taint the family? It doesn't! You're both brainwashed!"
Bellatrix, pointing her wand at Ted on the ground, suddenly and cruelly cut her off, "Enough! He's the one who's brainwashed you, teaching you something new, something different!"
She moved towards his head, knelt down, pulled him up into a slightly sitting position, and poking his face with her wand, hissed, "That's exactly what they do!" and casting a spell that caused him to gasp in pain, continued, "Just a moment of weakness for you! Just a moment of weakness for you Andi, that's all."
Even as Narcissa maintained her hold and Bellatrix cast another spell, making Ted groan and gasp in pain, Bellatrix said, "I'll say this once. Let him go. Promise not to see him anymore. They'll forgive you."
Even as she stood up and continued to hold Ted under her wand, Narcissa turned to Andromeda and said, "You should listen to her. Think about what you're doing. Being with him puts us all in danger."
Andromeda responded, "I can't." As Bellatrix stopped torturing Ted and stared at Andromeda, the latter continued, holding out a ring attached to a necklace she was wearing, "I'm engaged."
Narcissa gasped, "No!"
Andromeda firmly spoke, "Let, go."
She cast an Imperius curse to make Narcissa move and pushing Bellatrix aside, walked over to Ted who had stood up and began to walk with him.
Suddenly, Bellatrix cast a deadly curse at her.
Andromeda barely managed to block it and began to run.
She heard Bellatrix declaring, "You'll pay for what you've done. Crucio!"
And then, she heard Ted screaming out in excruciating pain.
She began running towards them and cast a spell crying out, "No!"
Bellatrix released Ted and just blocked the spell even as Andromeda began to run to help Ted.
Ted got up and began to fight Bellatrix, exchanging spells fiercely.
Andromeda stepped into the fray, just saving Ted from a curse from Bellatrix. Ted shot another spell at the evil witch. And then, both turned round and simultaneously cast spells at her that caused her to fall onto the ground on her back.
Bellatrix gasped as she lay down in a somewhat sitting position, her head and chest up, supported by her arms.
Andromeda in anger, cast a cutting curse, causing a long wound to appear on Bellatrix's left arm, the one with the mark of a Death Eater, a black tattoo of a snake emerging from a skull.
Bellatrix laughed evilly just before Andromeda could turn away and then proceeded to lift her arm and lick her own blood.
She spoke in a dark, evil, demonic, seductive manner, "Blood," and then began to cackle like a demoness.
Andromeda shot up instantly in her bed, crying out, "NO!"
She began gasping even as she gripped onto her pillow tightly.
A minute later, she managed to calm down a little.
She couldn't believe what she had just dreamed of.
Would Bellatrix become like that, a cruel, sadistic demoness, a Death Eater?
Would she want to kill her then? Because, as for as Andromeda was concerned, there was no way she was just going to blindly listen to what the family demanded out of her.
And as for Ted, ever since that time when he had sung at the Three Broomsticks, he had become a close friend. Andromeda had often found herself sharing her personal thoughts with him about the Black family and had started to wonder whether she might have a crush on him or not.
And Bellatrix, having been dating a Muggleborn at that time, had accepted her friendship with him.
What would happen now? What if, it happened that Bellatrix decided that she would rather marry Rodolphus than be with a Muggleborn at the risk of being disowned? If that happened, Abhimanyu would probably be killed or sent to Azkaban. The other Blacks (not including Narcissa), the Malfoys, the Lestranges, and the Leverges, particularly Avril's father Hewson would see to it that Abhimanyu was ruined, destroyed.
She could only hope and pray that this terrible nightmare did not become a reality; that Bellatrix would not become a Death Eater and change from a loving sister into a demoness.
Narcissa had married Lucius Malfoy a long time ago, and had given birth to a son at the age of 25.
There had been no Abhimanyu. Bellatrix had joined Lord Voldemort shortly after Hogwarts and had become a fearsome Death Eater, the Dark Lord's trusted lieutenant.
Narcissa and Bellatrix were currently in a small house in a living room, talking to a man with greasy black hair and a hooked nose. Narcissa was 41. Her son was 16 and had been marked as a Death Eater shortly after Lucius had been sent to Azkaban.
Narcissa fearing for her son had come to this man, as he was the son's godfather and a spy.
Bellatrix declared, "If I had sons, I would give them all to the Dark Lord!"
And then, the scene changed. Narcissa, 26 years old, was standing in a dark hallway in Malfoy Manor. Fearing for her child, a baby, she had become a spy for Dumbledore a year ago, and now Bellatrix and the Dark Lord had found out. And the Dark Lord wanted to make her pay by having her child murdered.
Bellatrix glared at Narcissa and ordered, "This is your chance to atone for your sins, give him to the Dark Lord. He demands sacrifice. We are his to command. Give your child to him, do it now!"
Narcissa turned towards Bellatrix and shouted, "HOW CAN YOU DO THIS?! I WILL NEVER SACRIFICE MY CHILD TO THE DARK LORD WHO INTENDS TO PUT HIM INTO THE JAWS OF CRUEL DEATH! I WILL NOT! ANDROMEDA WAS RIGHT ABOUT YOU! THE LOVING SISTER THAT YOU ONCE WERE IS GONE! YOU'RE A DEMONESS! I WILL NEVER GIVE UP MY SON!"
Bellatrix smiled cruelly at her and declared, "THEN I SHALL TAKE HIM FROM YOU!"
Cackling evilly, Bellatrix put on a scary look and looked at the child, who began to cry and buried his face in his mother's shoulder.
The demoness that she was, Bellatrix lunged forward and attempted to wrest the frightened toddler from his mother. Narcissa began to scream in agony, knowing that if she loosened her grip, her child would be ripped from her arms and would be tortured and killed.
Narcissa's eyes shot open and she gasped, clutching tightly onto her pillow and sitting up quickly.
A minute later, she hugged her pillow and wept into it.
What had she just dreamt of?
Was it really possible that Bellatrix would become so fanatic, so cruel, so uncaring, so, demonic?!
"No," Narcissa said softly as tears spilled from her eyes, "Please, let it be false, let it all be wrong! Please, no, don't become like that! Please, help me, hold me, Bella!"
After a few minutes of crying, she whispered, "I thought being with Abhimanyu would put us in danger, but now, I'm so afraid I'll lose you Bella. Please, don't become that monster! Please, Bella, don't leave me! Don't harm me or any children I may have! Please, protect me!"
And then, she continued, "Abhimanyu, you may be a Muggleborn, but you are not like Rodolphus, a Death Eater. I'm sorry for doubting you ever. Please, help us. Don't let this happen. Don't let Bellatrix become a Death Eater. Please, don't."
And with that, she closed her eyes, praying that the worst would not happen.
Abhimanyu found himself in an area where trees and bushes were scattered about.
It was a dark night. And there were sounds of thunder rumbling.
It sounded so, frightening.
He could hear sounds of evil all about, seemingly far away, yet so close.
Sounds of evil laughter, cries of people for help, sounds of curses being cast...
And they seemed to be coming from… somewhere ahead, where a flash of green could be seen.
Abhimanyu rushed forward as fast as his legs could carry him, desperate to save anyone who might be in danger.
He passed through a clump of trees, but found himself in a clearing with grass, reaching up to his ankles.
There were a few bushes and trees scattered about, but there seemed to be no one.
Not even a sound, save for the rumbling of thunder.
And then, he heard a cackle of female evil laughter.
He turned around, but saw no one.
And then, the cackle came again, this time, a little highly pitched.
He turned around again, and still saw no one.
The cackle came again, this time, even more highly pitched, and longer.
Wand at the ready, he turned around, heart beating quickly, and saw no one.
And then, there was a huge rumble of thunder.
And then, there came a fourth cackle of evil laughter, even more highly pitched, and louder.
Abhimanyu turned around, and nearly jumped out of his skin at the sight before him.
There, in front of him, stood a woman, dressed in a black lace dress, holding a wand, with long, curly and rather disheveled black hair, deranged, looking like some kind of demoness, laughing madly.
Even as she continued to laugh, Abhimanyu looked a little closer, and gasped when he saw her face, with an evil look, but familiar all the same.
"Bellatrix," Abhimanyu gasped, "What, are…"
Bellatrix spoke evilly and laughingly, and seductively, "He he he, do you not recognize me? Ooh, what a pity. You've known me since our first year in Hogwarts."
Abhimanyu spoke in shock, "Bella, what did you do? Look, I'm sorry, I…"
"You have no reason to be sorry, foolish, little, Mudblood," Bellatrix spoke, "And by the way, I am no longer just Bellatrix Black."
And with that, she let out a bout of evil laughter.
She then whispered, "Show him."
And then, Abhimanyu saw a man step out of the shadows, laughing cruelly, and then, he gasped as he saw the familiar face and long hair, "Rodolphus Lestrange? What are you doing here?"
Rodolphus smirked at him and standing next to Bellatrix on her left even as she maintained an indifferent haughty look, he spoke haughtily with an evil smile, "Hello, Pandey. Why don't I introduce her, and myself? You already know me, Rodolphus Lestrange, a Death Eater, and a loyal follower of the Dark Lord. And this powerful woman, a fiercely loyal follower of the Dark Lord, a Death Eater, and a wonderful duelist, is my wife, Bellatrix Lestrange."
"No!" Abhimanyu cried out, even as Rodolphus and Bellatrix laughed evilly, "It can't be! Bellatrix never would…"
"Oh Abhimanyu," Bellatrix sneered seductively, "Did you think I would still love you? Oh, I do, but not the way you think. I'm happy that you came, because now, I get to have the pleasure of slowly, painfully, and surely, killing you like a helpless animal."
Even as Rodolphus laughed, Bellatrix glared at Abhimanyu and pointing her wand at him, she cried out, "Crucio!"
Quickly stepping to the side, Abhimanyu was lucky to dodge that curse.
Bellatrix glared at him and whispered, "Actually, I think I shall slay you now. Prepare to fall into the jaws of death. Come, death awaits you."
And then, even as Abhimanyu looked at her in horror, she cried out, "Avada Kedavra!"
And Abhimanyu could see a flash of green light right in front of his face.
"No!" Abhimanyu cried out as he woke up. Gasping in horror, he shot up and clutched his chest with his hands.
After some frightened breathing, Abhimanyu slowly let go and stared ahead.
What had he just dreamed of?!
Was Bellatrix going to really join Voldemort, become a Death Eater, and slaughter innocents?
It couldn't be!
Would she turn on him? Would she want to kill him?!
Would she choose Rodolphus and join the Dark Lord?
Was this all a trap?
No, it couldn't be.
From what he had heard from Andromeda, Bellatrix still loved him.
But what if things suddenly changed at the last minute?
He'd never know if he didn't try to find out.
It was risky, but if she was in trouble, he couldn't just let her be.
He had to help her.
He wouldn't let anything happen to her.
He whispered, "Bella, please, just hang on. The Dark Lord wants you to join him, Rodolphus wants you to marry him, but I won't let that happen. I will die for you if I have to. Just hang on there."
After a pause, he continued, "Bella, I love you."
Bellatrix found herself in a dark, damp cell, staring at Abhimanyu in front of her.
Abhimanyu was on his knees, looking haunted, defeated, chained to the wall.
And next to Bellatrix, there stood Rodolphus.
Rodolphus kicked Abhimanyu's face and snarled, "So you Mudblood, you thought you would be worthy of marrying Bellatrix Black of the most Ancient and Noble House of Black?! You thought you could steal her away from me? You thought you could prevent her from becoming powerful by the side of the Dark Lord? Now, she is my wife and I am going to make sure you pay for what you've done!"
Bellatrix saw the Dark Lord standing right behind Abhimanyu, smiling evilly as he kept his wand trained on the Muggleborn.
The Dark Lord spoke, "Bellatrix, you are so much more than just a simple auror. Join me. Be worthy of power. I shall teach you. Fear and love will bind you."
Bellatrix just stared ahead without saying anything.
And then, she saw Abhimanyu looking up at her, with pleading eyes.
Even as they looked at each other, face to face, Abhimanyu pleaded, his voice weak due to pain, helpless, desperate, "Bella, help me! Help me, please, help me!"
Rodolphus slapped Abhimanyu shouting, "You dare to address my wife! You dare to beg my wife for help to save your skin! You are not fit to address her so intimately you filthy Mudblood!"
And then, he pointed his wand at Abhimanyu and yelled, "Crucio!"
Abhimanyu collapsed onto the floor and screamed in pain.
And the Dark Lord smiled on in savage glee.
And Bellatrix stood there, laughing evilly at him, taunting him, "You are nothing but filth, meant to be our slave, and you dare to think you can woo me? Look at you, pathetic, Mudblood!"
She could hear him screaming, "AAAAAAAH, HELP ME, AAAAAAH, BELLA, HELP ME!"
"ABHIMANYU," Bellatrix cried out as her eyes shot open and she sat right up on her bed.
She remained in that position, her mouth wide open in horror.
"No," she softly cried out, "I would never…"
What was happening to her?
What was she supposed to do?
Would this be her future if she were to marry Rodolphus?
Would she become influenced by him and become a monster?
She had once felt interest in meeting to Dark Lord, but that interest had begun to fade after she had befriended Abhimanyu, a Muggleborn who had always tried to be her friend and had protected her sisters despite having being sneered at for six years by her.
She could not forget how he had saved Andromeda, the day just after the day on which they had discovered that they had the same wand core, a day on which she had been incredibly rude to him.
And any interest in the Dark Lord has completely disappeared in her seventh year, the year in which she had fallen in love with Abhimanyu.
And that bond had been cruelly broken after his disastrous visit to her parents.
"Why did I…" Bellatrix whispered, "What did I…"
A tear rolled down her cheek as she thought about that day on which she had broken up with him.
And yet, he had somehow found out.
From Andromeda and Narcissa somehow; she was sure of that.
And he was coming.
But what was going to happen to her? What if he didn't make it on time? What would she do? Would she be disowned? What was she to do?
If she married Rodolphus, either she would be influenced enough or he and the Dark Lord would break her and force her to follow their ways.
There was only one thing she was sure about.
Somehow or the other, she had to save herself from a horrible fate, the fate of changing into a demoness.
