High protector

Timeline will be shifted forward. Harry will be approaching 11 when Steve is awakened from the ice. Set during Avengers Timeline. Other changes will be made as well. That is all for now.

Steve Rogers found himself walking around London between missions. He really was just out and about exploring the city and countryside. He stumbled upon a man being attacked with a strange weapon that seems to resemble a Hydra weapon. He immediately jumps into action because it is the right thing to do not because he is Captain America. One swift punch to the man's face drops him. It's after this that he helps the man he rescued to his feet.

"Are you alright? Thats a right nasty weapon he was using." Steve asks

Fleamont Potter replies "I am alright thanks to you. It certainly was nasty what he was trying to do. What was your name? I would like to thank my rescuer properly?"

"My name is Steve Rogers. I'm American over here for the war. No thanks are necessary. I was only doing what was right." Steve tries to brush off the thanks, still a bit uncomfortable with the whole thing.

"Well my name is Fleamont Potter and it would be seen as an insult to not offer you thanks for saving my life. As such Steve Rogers I say thank you for saving my life. I have a request for you. It's rather simple and likely nothing will ever come from it."

Steve is a bit taken aback by the name "Your brother is Charlus Potter? We have fought together many a time. He is an honorable man and someone I would stand with against anything. For that I will hear your request."

Fleamont smiles "He is my brother yes and he speaks highly of you as well. That is part of why I would ask this of you. I would like to name you High Protector of my house. You see my family is seen as important both politically and financially and as such we will always have enemies. The position I offer as I said is almost entirely ceremonial but it does come with a few rules."

Steve responds "I would of course need to know these rules and how they would affect me. Even if it is just ceremonial and unlikely to happen, we are in a war and people do die."

"If my family ever finds you and is in need of protection you are to provide it as well as sanctuary. If my family ever finds itself without a head of house of age you are to step in as regent until such a time as the child is able to take their role. If you find yourself as head of House as regent you will be able to access the family vaults and properties." Fleamont explains

Steve not seeing anything wrong with this "I can accept those rules. I would offer them protection and sanctuary even if I wasn't named high protector."

Fleamont is pleased with this. "That is why Charlus likes you so much you have the heart of the old ways. I Fleamont Potter of House Potter do hereby declare Steve Rogers to be High Protector of House Potter from this day forth so I say so mote it be"

After this they go and talk and get to know each other better Steve heads back to camp forgetting all about his new position as the War rages on. His plane goes down in the ice and he finds himself frozen. When he is thawed out he finds himself in a SHIELD medical facility. They made the room like one he would have been in in WWII only the staff was dressed as modern staff.

Nick Fury walks in "I am sure you have questions, Captain Rogers. It is not the year you believe, however we wanted to blend your wake up room with modern and period so as not to overwhelm the senses when you first woke up."

Steve nods in understanding "If it isn't the year I believe then what year is it? Where am I? Who are you?"

"The year is 2008 you are in a secure medical facility being run by SHIELD and my name is Nick Fury. I would love to catch you up on all the events you have been missing, however as I am a busy man I have asked a few people to assist me. When you're ready I can introduce you to them and begin to catch you up on the last 70ish years."

Steve nods "Thank you Nick. Shield? That would be an offshoot of the SSD? I am ready whenever your personnel clear me to leave this room."

Fury nods "My people have cleared you. You're basically right it will be explained in detail later but basically Howard Stark founded it to continue the mission you led during the war."

They leave and Steve is introduced around to various people. Over the next six months he is brought up to speed on everything major that has happened and introduced to Natasha Romanov, Clint Barton and Tony Stark. One day in August his entire world changes and he is reminded of a responsibility he forgot. He gets a letter at his apartment.

Captain Steve Rogers

The rights of High Protector for House Potter a most ancient and noble house. Your presence is required at Gringotts Bank London August 21st. You will receive more information at that time as this is a sensitive matter.

When he shows this letter to Nick Fury hoping he has some answers as to where Gringotts is and how exactly he is to get there. When Fury see's the note his eye goes wide. "Natasha Clint follow me. We are going to London, call Stark and have him meet us there. Steve I will explain everything the air we are leaving now."

Steve is stunned by this but nods and they all get in a quinjet and head towards London. Once they land Stark meets them very confused as to why he is there. Fury begins to explain what the Magical world is, how Steve seems to have been declared a High Protector of an ancient House. As his comrades in arms at least that's what is going to be documented they are allowed to know and assist with his duties.

High Protector

Harry was very confused when he got to the bank the Goblins took him to his vault and gave him money but they also told him and Hagrid in no uncertain terms he was to return to the Bank on the 21st of August for family business whatever that is. This stuck with him all day and even after getting everything for school including his wand and a truly wonderful owl he still couldn't get out of his head why he had return to the bank. When he is returned "home" he asks Hagrid if he will be there to get him on the 21st or if it will be someone else. Hagrid doesn't know and tells Harry as much.

When Hagrid returns to Hogwarts he tells Dumbledore about what the Goblins had said and he is furious how dare the Goblins try and interfere with his plans. He has constructed the perfect scenario for Harry to be led to die when the time was right either to kill Tom or even better yet after when he is declared a Dark Lord himself. He Obliviates Hagrid and goes to Harry's house and does the same to him. Believing he has stopped his plans from coming undone he returns to his office rather happy with himself. Little did he know that the Goblins had placed a tracking Rune on Harry and knew where he was staying.
