Steve approaches the door and knocks on the door.
Dan and Emma were enjoying a nice day off from their busy schedule now that Hermione was off in a boarding school they can take on longer hours and work the occasional weekend. They are relaxing on their couch enjoying a nice cup of coffee when they hear a knock at the door. They are not expecting visitors but decide to check the door anyway. Dan gets up and answers the door, finding a strange sight.
Steve when the door opens begins his introduction "Hello Doctors Granger my name is Steve Rogers and my ward is a friend of your daughter at Hogwarts. I was wondering if I might come in and talk to you for a bit about a recent situation at school that has several parents upset."
Dan is thrilled to hear Hermione has friends invite him in and offers him a cup of coffee. Steve accepts and begins his explanation. "I don't know if your daughter has mentioned it but on Halloween a creature called a troll was somehow allowed into the school. The headmaster thought it would be wise to send the children into harm's way before the troll was dealt with. Now this may not sound terrible but as it was explained to me if the Troll had gotten where the children were it would have killed them all in under 5 minutes. Law enforcement was contacted of course in fact one of your daughters friends is the head of law enforcement in the magical world. Because of circumstances involving the headmaster nothing was done and no one got in any trouble. When this was brought to our attention a group of us got together and decided the headmaster can't protect the children. We can't remove him yet he has too much influence in the world so we are planning on pulling them out of Hogwarts and proceeding with education at the house I am living at with my ward. This will be of course both magical and non magical in nature. The staff has been assembled and it is the best money can buy and in some cases better than can be bought. As I said these are Hermione's friends and they don't want to leave her behind. You would of course not be paying for the education for the remainder of the year, we would discuss the cost moving forward but the goal is to be cheaper than Hogwarts. She would be able to return home either nightly or on weekends. We are still working on the logistics of that. Here is a class list as well as the teachers we have decided upon."
The Grangers are stunned by this, their daughter hadn't mentioned anything like that but then given it was a recent development the letter might not have reached them yet. To hear that someone was above the law and seemingly deliberately put their daughter and other children at risk was simply devastating to hear. To hear Hermione was being given another option and one that would allow her access to both worlds when she graduated was simply stunning. They take the class list and while they don't understand all these classes like potions and arithmancy but seeing math and science and literature makes them happy. Then they see the names listed for these classes and upon seeing Bruce Banner and Tony Stark on the teaching list they can't help but be speechless.
After the initial shock wears off Dan looks at Emma who nods before he proceeds "Your saying you have the two brightest minds in the world teaching at your school and cost will be decreasing from Hogwarts and she will be able to return home regularly. How can we say no? Besides, it doesn't sound like this school is all that great, much less safe. Has this been discussed with Hermione we don't want to do anything without her consent. When would this start?"
Steve nods "Bruce and Tony are friends of mine and are doing this as a favor as are a few other staff members. We would start after christmas since that is only a few weeks away. We would be pulling the students immediately and either returning them home or taking them to Potter Manor where school will be held. You will of course be allowed to visit whenever before school starts and after visits can be arranged. Yes a letter was sent to Harry and he approached them while we were putting the staff list together. She said as long as you agreed she was on board but didn't want to stay at Hogwarts if she would be alone regardless."
The Grangers agree and decide to allow Hermione to stay at Potter Manor until what would be the christmas break since they can't change their next two weeks in such a short time. With that out of the way they all head over to Potter Manor to see where their daughter would be staying. Upon arrival the Grangers are shocked by the sheer size of the house before them. At first they were worried when they drove into this dense forest but then they came to a clearing and saw the single largest house they had ever seen in front of them.
Hogwarts
Dumbledore received a most distressing letter this morning 8 of his students were being pulled from school immediately 7 from prominent families including Harry Potter. He can not allow this to stand. He needs Harry here so he can control him and die when the time is right. With Harry dead he would control all 3 Hallows and become immortal. He found out over the years he didn't actually have control over the cloak; it was tied to the bloodline of the Potters. He decides he will simply ignore this letter and after setting it on fire thus destroying the evidence there is no proof he even got the letter.
That next morning he heads down to the great hall for breakfast and as is customary he sits upon his throne overlooking his kingdom. As students begin to file in he is happy to see all those whose name was on that cursed letter are still at Hogwarts. As breakfast begins the doors suddenly open wide and a full contingent of aurors as well as several people Albus doesn't recognize walk in.
"Headmaster, we have come to escort several former students off the grounds. You were notified of this yesterday when you failed to reply. It was assumed you would not be complying and as such we have come to fetch the children." Amelia states matter of factly.
Dumbledore stands up "I never received any such message but surely you don't mean to pull students in the middle of the year. That would prove catastrophic to their education."
"Albus we know you did indeed receive such a letter as the letter was keyed to your magical signature as such only you could have taken and opened it. Considering our owl came back without said letter you must have received it. As far as the former students are concerned, their education is none of your business." Amelia states starting to grow tired of Albus and his word play.
Dumbledore knows he is trapped now "Of course I remember the letter I of course passed it onto Professor Mcgonigal as I receive so many letters I simply can not read them all myself. I must insist on the students staying through the end of term at the very least. This would give them a chance to say their goodbys properly."
Amelia smiles "I am sorry their guardians have made it quite clear they where to leave today with me. We have of course been in contact with them and they are packed and ready to go. When I call your name please stand and follow an Auror to your common room to grab your things. Hermione Granger, Harry Potter, Draco Malfoy, Susan Bones, Hannah Abbott, Vincent Crabbe, Greggory Goyle, Theodore Nott, Neville Longbottom, Tracy Davis, Daphne Greengrass." All those whose names were called stand up and are escorted to their common rooms to grab their things.
Theodore walks with Draco "Any idea why I am included here? I know you are friendly with Potter but this is the first I am hearing of this." Daphne and Tracy nod their heads as well
Draco Replies "Honestly I don't know. I believe as your dad and mine are close it makes sense we are pulled together. Tracy, Dahne I have no idea. I can't say I am upset that you are coming with us but I have no idea why."
Once everyone has all their things gathered, they head to the entrance hall. Once there they portkey to Potter Manor. Steve is there to greet them "My name is Steve Rogers and it is my distinct pleasure to welcome you to Potter Manor. It is here that your education will continue. We have arranged the best tutors money can buy and we will be moving at an accelerated pace. By the time you are 17 you could have as many as 10 masteries. Now if you will all follow me I will introduce our staff."
Everyone is overwhelmed by something here and they all follow him inside. Once in the living room they are all directed to sit and get comfortable as class guides are passed around. Once they have all been seated and the class guides are passed out Steve walks in front of them. "Your parents or guardians all decided after the troll incident that frankly Hogwarts was not the safest place for you to learn. As such myself and Lucius Malfoy worked on an alternative. It combines the best of the Wizarding world with the best of the Muggle education system. We decided to make it accelerated because there are fewer of you and thus we can move faster. Please hold questions until the end. Allow me to introduce your teachers at this time. Science and math will be taught by Tony Stark and Bruce Banner, Literature will be taught by Steven King, Unarmed combat will be taught by myself Natasha Romanov and Clint Barton, Offensive magic will be taught by Remus Lupin, History will taught by Timothy Snyder, Defensive Magic will be taught by Jessica Rabbit, Potions will be taught by Fleamont Potter and checked by our resident healer and potions apprentice Andromeda Tonks, I will also teach an art class for those interested. Once a month Narcissa Malfoy will be coming over and teaching customs and etiquette. This is a mandatory class for the first 2 years after that we will review."
With the staff introduced the children look around and they can immediately pick out the offensive magic teacher as he looks like he has been through hell. Standing 6'2" with a full beard covering most of his face except where a nasty looking scar runs down the side of his face through his left eye, he is wearing a standard issue shield uniform and while he has a smile on his face that smile doesn't always look happy. Jessica Rabbit the defensive magic teacher is a tall blonde lady also in a shield uniform and it hugs her curves in all the right places. (Imagine Bobbi Morse)
Flashback
"Nick, can you put me in contact with someone to teach offensive and defensive magic to a group of kids? You must know someone." Steve asks
"Of course. I am assuming this is for your ward and a few others? I have the perfect guy. He has been running black ops on our magic side for the last 8 years but I am sure he would jump at the chance to teach his best friend's son." Nick comments
Later in a secure conference room aboard the helicarrier Steve and Remus meet. "So Fury says you are the guy to teach these kids. Are you ready to do that? I know you have been running black ops for awhile and I know how that messes with someone. I have to make sure these kids are safe and well taught. Frankly Dumbledore isn't doing it."
Remus gets a look of rage on his face "Of course Dumbledore isn't doing it he killed James and Lily after all or damn near enough." His face softens "I made a promise to James and Lily that I would watch out for Harry when he was born. I couldn't be his godfather damn ministry wouldn't allow it. After 3 years of searching for Harry and coming up empty I decided that I was going to finish something if I couldn't raise Harry I could at least avenge my parents. When SHIELD found me, it turned out we were hunting the same man. They offered me a spot and I have been helping ever since. I have never given up looking for Harry. I can't be the uncle he needs, especially now but I can teach him to be strong and tell him tales of his parents. I can hopefully make sure he doesn't repeat the errors of his parents."
Steve nods "I hear you're a werewolf. This won't be a problem as you are not even close to the most dangerous thing on the grounds. Your teaching partners are in part myself Tony Stark and Bruce Banner. I trust you know enough to know who they are. Tony designed the security himself and the goblins were so impressed they declared it the most secure place on the planet, that was before the wards went live. We are teaching an accelerated version of Newts in 4 years. We don't much care about theory or homework or bridge spells. You will be teaching a combination of Charms Defense and Transfiguration we are calling Offensive Magic. You will have a counterpart who will be teaching Defensive magic. Joint classes will be necessary I would imagine at times especially once you begin live combat scenarios in year 2."
Remus readily agrees and even has a partner he recommends as they have worked together for several years and have even done some of the training in the department.
End Flashback
So yes potions will be taught by a painting said painting just so happens to be a potions master of unparalleled skill supposedly. If you catch all the references to other things in the staff please know they are intentional. As I thought of a literature professor, how do you not at least approach Steven King and given some of his books would it shock anyone to have him at least know of the magical world. There will be more staff added next year. Yes I changed Lupin, as much as the sad werewolf is nice he wouldn't be the best money could buy however a black ops trained Lupin now I have someone with depth he was lacking. Yes Andromeda is the healer that doesn't come into play for a while. I am still not sure if Clint will move his family to the Potter Manor that's why he is teaching the class with everyone else. Besides, he and Natasha will still be active agents.
