Emily was quiet on the flight home. She had a lot to think about. She knew she had made a mistake. A big one. In allowing Lily to get away with things she should have been getting away with. She also knew her daughter knew better. She knew the people who had adopted her in the beginning had been good people and had been raising her right and now Emily was undoing all that because of her own guilt.

Derek was sitting across from her and knew something was up. "What's on your mind?" Derek asked

"How to fix a mistake." Emily said

"Work or personal?" Derek asked

"Personal." Emily said

"Something to do with Aaron?" He asked

"With my daughter." Emily said

"Want to talk about it?" Derek asked

Emily explained what had happened and how Rachel, Jack and Lorelai were caught in the fall out.

"Well leave it to Lorelai to speak her mind." Derek said

"And I feel bad for her now. Aaron is not happy with Lorelai. Because of the way she voiced her opinion." Emily said

"Its not the first time she's gotten herself in trouble with her mouth. And likely wont be the last." Derek pointed out

Emily nodded. "But she isn't wrong with what she said. Yeah sure. She could have been abit more respectful with the way she said it but what she said wasn't wrong."

"Well, we both know Aaron is all for people speaking the truth but also about respect. Especially from his kids. And Lorelai is -well aware of that too. Its not on you that she was disrespectful" Derek said

Emily nodded.

"But you do need to fix things with your daughter. And it is not to late." Derek said

Emily nodded.

They landed soon after and all went home.

Spencer got home and found his two girls in the nursery. Lorelai was rocking her. Spencer smiled and kissed Lorelai.

Lorelai kissed him back. "How was the case?"

"Fine." Spencer said. "I heard you had an interesting day yesterday."

Lorelai sighed. "You heard huh?"

"Yup. I was told to tell you he would be here in a couple hours to talk." Spencer said

Lorelai sighed and nodded.

"How were things here otherwise?" Spencer asked

"Good." Lorelai said

Meanwhile at the Hotchner/ Prentiss residence.

Emily and Aaron were sitting down at the table with Lily

Emily started the conversation.

"Lily. The way things have been going. They cant continue like that. We both have a lot of feelings about how the beginning of your life has been. But I know you had good parents who loved you and I saw the way they were with you. You never would have acted like this with them. And you will not act like it here anymore." Emily said

Lily let out a small sigh.

"And I think you were taking advantage of the fact that you know how bad I feel about where you ended up after they passed away and how I didn't know and stop it before it could happen." Emily said

Lily looked down.

"But it will not happen anymore." Emily said. "There are rules, and you will follow them or there will be consequences." She added going over what the rules and those consequences would be. And the rules also applied when someone else was in charge and that they would also be allowed to give the consequences if she and Aaron weren't there.

Lily was not happy about it, but she listened and knew better than to argue.

"The rules and consequences are the same that Jack and Rachel have." Aaron assured her.

She was told that she was grounded for one week for the way she behaved while they were away.

When they were done talking to Lily, Aaron called for Jack to come take Lily's place at the table.

"I'm sorry." Jack said

Aaron nodded. "You knew better. I know Lily didn't make it easy, but you knew to just walk away."

Jack nodded.

He was given the same consequence of being grounded for a week for not walking away from the situation. He was sent back to his room when they were done.

Emily went and got Rachel who sat down at the table with her and Aaron.

"I'm sorry that you got caught in the fallout of this situation. Your dad and I have spoken to Lily, and she will not be acting this way and getting away with it any longer." Emily told her

Rachel nodded.

"And. I don't know if you would feel comfortable with it. And you can say no, and I would never push it. But if she acts out while under your care. You can handle it." Emily said

Rachel shook her head. "I cant. No…"

"That's okay. If there is a problem you let me, or your dad know, and we will handle it when we are home. Or you can always call Lorelai if you need help to handle it." Emily said

Rachel nodded.

"I heard you didn't say anything to me or Emily because you didn't want to case a rift." Aaron said

Rachel looked down

"Rach. I don't ever want you to be afraid to talk to your father. If your dad and I ever break up. It wont be because of you. Or Jack. Or Lily. Or Lorelai. Okay?" Emily said

Rachel nodded.

"And you can always talk to me too. About anything." Emily said

Rachel nodded and smiled abit.

"You're okay?" Aaron asked

"Yes." Rachel said

They finished their conversation and Rachel went off.

Aaron looked at Emily. "I'm going to head to Lorelai's."

"Don't be to hard on her. She wasn't wrong." Emily said

"No. She wasn't. And I'm not upset she said what she said. But she didn't need to be disrespectful about it." Aaron said

Emily let out a breathe.

"I wont be to hard on her." Aaron assured Emily.

Emily nodded. "Okay."

Aaron got up and headed out to Lorelai's place

Spencer had taken over with the baby, so Lorelai went and opened the door when there was a knock.

"Hi." She said stepping out of the way so Aaron could come in.

Aaron came in. Lorelai led him to office so they could talk. Closing the door behind them.

She sat down on one of the chairs in the room.

Aaron sat down on another.

Lorelai just looked down at her hands.

Aaron took a breathe. "I'm not angry with what you said. I don't disagree with what you said. I have been afraid of losing Emily, so I have let things slide. Things I shouldn't have. But the way you spoke to me and Emily. Your slipping back into old habits. You are the daughter and sister in this situation not their parent."

Lorelai nodded. He knew she was right.

"Has something happened that is making you slip back into old habits?" He asked

"No. Nothing, I can think of." Lorelai said

"I'm not saying you couldn't talk to Emily and me about what was going on and even give your opinion. But we both know that the way you went about it was disrespectful." He said

"Yes sir." Lorelai said not looking up.

"Look at me." Aaron said

Lorelai looked up at him.

"Its been along time since we have been having a conversation like this." Aaron said

Lorelai nodded. "I wish we could go longer." She said

Aaron gave her a small smile. "Oh, I'm sure you do. As do I. But I told you to stop and you continued. You knew you were being disrespectful, and you continued."

"Yes sir. And I know nothing I say will change what you are going to do but know that I'm sorry. And it wont happen again." She said her eyes welling up with tears.

"Hey. Come on. I know you don't want to be punished but you don't usually get so upset. What's going on?" Aaron asked

"Its like you said. Its been a while." She said taking a breathe.

Aaron nodded. "Well, the longer we talk about it the harder its going to be." He told her

Lorelai nodded abit.

Aaron helped her over his lap before he delivered a couple dozen hard swats. She was crying softly by the end. He sat her up and held her till she calmed down.

When she was calm she took a breathe and looked up at him.

"Your okay?" He asked

Lorelai nodded. "I'm okay. Just don't like it."

Aaron nodded. "You're not supposed to that's the point."

"I know. And I cant sit here and say that the times you have punished me. Weren't necessary. That they didn't help me grow. That you didn't do everything right. I would not be the person I am. The agent I were. If it wasn't for you."

"Agent you were?" He asked

"Crap…." She said

"Didn't mean to let that slip did you?" He asked

"No Sir." Lorelai said

"Don't think I haven't seen. Haven't see the changes in you since being a mother." Aaron said

"Obviously I've changed." Lorelai said

"Do you no longer wanted to be an agent?" he asked

"That's a question I just cant answer yet. I don't know. Part of me does yes. Part of me wonders who I would be able to trust would protect my child with their life that isn't part of the team. Or doesn't have other plans for their lives." Lorelai said

Aaron nodded. "Its why when Hailey passed away I considered leaving the FBI. But I found people who I trusted. And Jessica was always there for Jack and Rachel and of course you."

Lorelai nodded. "But Jack was a little older."

"Yes. I know there is a difference." Aaron said

"I've also thought of transferring teams and working from the offices here. Putting her in the daycare at the FBI and being home at night for her." Lorelai said

"Also, an option." Aaron said

"But the team is my family." Lorelai said

"And we will -always be your family. Regardless of whether you are working on the team or not." Aaron said

Lorelai nodded

"Does Spencer know any of this?" Aaron asked

"Yes. I've talked to him about all of it. He told me no matter what I decide he supports. He also said we would find someone we can trust for Hailey if that's what I want." Lorelai said

"Good." Aaron said

"I'm sorry I didn't come talk to you about it sooner." Lorelai said

"Its okay. I know its not an easy decision for you. I know you would have come to me and will come to me when you have decided." Aaron said

"Yes." Lorelai said

Aaron opened his arms. Lorelai went over and gave him a tight hug. Aaron hugged her tight.

Afterwards they talked abit more before Aaron headed out. Lorelai went to Spencer and broke down sobbing.

Spencer had put the baby down for sleep at that point and was just reading in the living room. When Lorelai came to him he took her into his lap and held her while she cried into him.

Once she calmed down abit he asked her what was wrong. She told him everything about the conversation she had just with her dad. Spencer just listened. He knew she just needed him to listen. Not to give any advice. Just to listen. When she was done and just laying there. He stood up picking her up with him and taking her to bed with him.
