Authors note: Discussion of abortions in this chapter. This chapter was written before everything that is going on in the states. That being said I would appreciate any reviews to remain free of political views. Thank you.

Happy readings

A few weeks later. Lorelai's Uncle and family were in town. She and Spencer had invited them over for a dinner. She invited her dad and rest of the family as well. They were all friends at this point. Lorelai was still hurting about what she had been told but she knew she needed to put on a happy face and act like nothing was wrong to be able to help Hannah keep her secret.

Lorelai had taken her cousin a few days before to get her abortion and it had seemed to go well. They were making dinner and things were going well. Lorelai noticed Hannah was looking abit white. She asked her for help in the kitchen.

When they were in there Lorelai asked her. "Are you okay?"

Hannah nodded. "Just nauseous."

Lorelai made sure no one else was in ear shot. "No other issues since?"

"No. Just the nauseousness and tired." Hannah said

"Okay. That's perfectly normal. It sucks but is normal." Lorelai said

Hannah nodded. She ran to the bathroom at that moment and threw up.

Lorelai went after her, but her mother came also.

"Hunny are you sick?" Bianca asked her daughter

"Maybe a stomach bug." Hannah said not very convincing

"Stomach bug huh?" Bianca said. She looked up at Lorelai. "You have any other information I should know?"

"What do you think I would know?" Lorelai asked

"Is she pregnant?" Bianca asked

"You should ask her that. Not me." Lorelai said with a hint of attitude.

Bianca looked back at her daughter. "Are you pregnant?"

"No." Hannah said.

"Well, I know your lying about a stomach bug. What's going on?" Bianca asked

"I don't know" Hannah said

Bianca looked up at her niece.

"What do you expect me to know? I'm not a doctor." Lorelai said walking away before she said something she regretted.

Bianca called for her husband.

Matt went and the three of them talked before Matt went to his niece. "Can I speak to you in another room? Please."

Lorelai saw the look on his face. He knew. And knew she knew. Lorelai looked at Spencer.

Spencer shrugged. He didn't know what to do to help his wife.

Aaron raised his eyebrow. He knew something was going on but didn't know what.

Lorelai went with Matt to the office holding back her tears. Closing the door behind them and sitting down looking at her hands.

Matt sat in the other chair.

"You knew she was pregnant?" he asked calmly

"What did she tell you?" Lorelai asked

"Doesn't matter. I want to know what you knew?" he said

"Why? So, you can throw bible verses at me about how wrong it is? And yell at me about how I should never have let her do it. And how I should have told you? I was not going to let my nineteen-year-old cousin get trapped in having a baby she is not ready for. I know your opinions. I know you wouldn't have let me have an abortion when I was younger if I was living with you but I'm not you. I don't believe what you do about abortions, and I was there for my cousin. So, you can hate me and cut off contact with me, but I just wish you would have told me your true opinion to my face about the fact that I had an abortion instead of letting me get attached to you and my cousins." Lorelai spat out not bothering to look up at him.

Matt was shocked by what came out of her mouth and the way she said it. Lorelai had never been downright disrespectful to him before. "Lorelai. What are you talking about?" he asked.

Lorelai looked up at him tears in her eyes. "Hannah told me what you and Bianca said. Behind my back. About how if I was living with you when I was pregnant I would never have been 'allowed' to have an abortion."

"Lorelai. Never. I have never said that. And as far as I know Bianca didn't either. We are pro-choice. 100% he said. For everyone. And we would have supported Hannah if we had known." Matt said

"I don't…" Lorelai said

"We are religious. Yes. And I know a lot of people will call it cherry picking the bible. But the bible was writing along time ago. In different times. Bianca and I don't follow the believes of what the bible says about abortions." Matt said. "You choosing to have an abortion saved your life. We know that. And Hannah's choice for whatever reason was hers to make too."

"Hannah told me…" Lorelai said

"Hannah. Either misunderstood something she overheard when she was younger, or she flat out lied to you to keep you from telling us the truth." Matt said

"She didn't need to tell me that. I would never have told you." Lorelai said

Matt nodded. "Okay. I can accept that. But did you really think we wouldn't support her?

"Hannah knows you far better than I do. I know you're religious. I know a lot of religious people feel that its wrong." Lorelai said

Matt let out a breathe. "Yes. Some don't support it. But Bianca and I do."

Lorelai looked down.

"Lorelai. Bianca and I are not angry with you. Or with Hannah. I'm sorry you believed we didn't support your decision. I just wanted to thank you. For being there for her." Matt said

Lorelai wiped at her eyes.

"Look at me." He said

Lorelai looked up.

"I promise. Bianca and I are just happy she has someone here who will drop everything and be there for her. I wish she had come talked to us. So, we could have been there for her too, but we understand that it can be hard for teens to talk to their parents. That friends, siblings, cousins. Can be much easier to open up too." Matt said.

Lorelai nodded.

"If there is ever a situation where you think I have said something behind your back you can come talk to me." Matt said. "Don't keep it bottled up till you end up reacting the way you just did."

"I'm sorry. I was disrespectful. I was just hurting. And how could I come talked to you about this without reveling to you what Hannah asked me not to?" Lorelai pointed out

Matt nodded. "Okay. I get that. I think Bianca, Hannah you and I need to have a conversation."

Lorelai nodded.

Matt left the room and brought the other two in.

"You okay?" Lorelai asked Hannah

Hannah nodded sipping some water she had.

Matt looked at his wife. "Apparently Hannah told Lorelai we were anti-abortion. Based on a conversation she heard. And made Lorelai think we were not okay with the fact that she had one when she was younger."

Bianca looked at her daughter. "What? No. I have told you before that we are pro-choice."

"So, it was a flat out lie." Lorelai said

Hannah looked down.

"Do you have any idea how much my heart hurt thinking what you said was true?" Lorelai asked

"I just wanted to make sure you didn't tell them." Hannah said

"And I wouldn't have. I would have gone to my grave with that secret. Regardless." Lorelai said

"Hannah. You are old enough to understand the thing you say people will believe and it will have an effect on them." Matt said

Hannah nodded.

"Look at how hurt your cousin is. Someone who has dropped everything on more than one occasion to help you." Matt said

"I'm sorry." Hannah said

Lorelai nodded. "Okay."

"Oh, come on. What more do you want?" Hannah asked

"To not have lost sleep and spent days sobbing thinking the only biological family I have, hated me for my choices." Lorelai said getting up and excusing herself from the conversation and room.

Lorelai went to her room to try and compose herself. But she was so hurt. Shortly after Spencer came into the room. "Matt explained to me what happened. You okay?"

"What do you think?" she spat at him.

"Lorelai. Take a breathe." Spencer said

Lorelai did. "Sorry."

Spencer nodded and sat next to her.

"I'm hurt. Really hurt." Lorelai said

"I get that. You hungry?" He asked, "Food is ready." He said

"I'm not going to penalize the rest of them for Hannah's choices." Lorelai said

"Okay. Good" Spencer said.

The two went out to the dinning room and they all sat and ate. Lorelai put on a smile and pretended like nothing was wrong for the sake of her little cousins and siblings.

Brandon her sixteen-year-old cousin could sense something wasn't right. "Okay Hannah. What did you do this time?" He asked

"Brandon." Bianca scolded

He smirked. "Sorry."

Matt gave his son a look of disapproval and Brandon shoved some food in his mouth.

Jack and Lillian as well as Dustin and Natalie the youngest two of Lorelai's cousins just looked at each other. They all knew something was going on but knew better than to say anything.

After they ate Lorelai started to clear up. Hannah got up to help her. "Lorelai. I'm really sorry."

"I'm sure you are." Lorelai said walking away.

"Please. Just hear me out." Hannah said

"Here out what? That you let me to believe that they spoke about me behind my back, and I didn't have their support? What exactly is your explanation that you think will make that better? You could have told them you were pregnant. And that you wanted an abortion, and they would have came running to support you." Lorelai said quietly so the younger ones wouldn't hear.

"Not without a lecture about unprotected sex." Hannah said

"Hannah. If you are old enough to have sex you are old enough to know to use protection. If you choose not to that's on you. And you should be lectured. Forget about the fact that you got pregnant. Having a one-night stand with a random guy without protection. Is just stupid." Lorelai said

"Oh. I'm stupid?" Hannah asked

"No. Actually you are quite smart which is why I'm confused that you would do something so stupid and have unprotected sex." Lorelai said

"Oh, fuck off. Like you didn't ever." Hannah. said

"No actually I didn't because I used the head on my shoulders and common sense. Something you must be lacking." Lorelai said. The argument getting louder and louder.

"Okay. Both of you enough." Matt said coming into the room

Lorelai took a breathe. "You're right. Sorry." She said walking away

"Oh. To much of a chicken shit to argue because you so scared of my dad." Hannah said

"A least I have the common sense, so I don't end up with an STD." Lorelai said leaving the room.

"Oh, shut up." Hannah called out.

Lorelai looked at Rachel. "What do you say to a disney movie?" She said silently begging her for help.

Rachel nodded. "Come on you four." She said to the younger ones.

"Yay!" the kids said running to the living room.

"Yeah that's not going to work on me." Brandon said with a smirk.

"Oh, I didn't think it would." Lorelai said. "I'm sorry you had to hear that though."

He shrugged. "It's the sound of family."

Lorelai nodded. "You're right."

"Yeah. He knows what it means to have a family he didn't have to come crawling to the only blood he had because we were always there." Hannah said

"Hannah. What the hell is wrong with you?" Brandon asked before looking at Lorelai.

"Don't listen to her. You didn't have to come crawling. We have your back." Brandon told her

"Thank you." Lorelai said

"I'm going to go watch that movie now." He said before he went off

Lorelai turned around and looked at Hannah. "You really thing some nasty words from you is going to hurt me. Ha. I grew up being told much worse things. At least I'm not a slut who sleeps around with people who just leaves the next day. Or kills his family and brainwashes me to keep him hidden."

"Lorelai!" Aaron and Spencer said

Lorelai walked away and went to her room.

"Wait you slept with that guy who killed his family?" Matt asked

Hannah took a breathe.

"You told me you didn't." Bianca said

"Well, I lied." Hannah said

Matt shook his head. "Hannah. I think your mother, you and I need to have a long talk. Because you are -not the girl we raised you to be."

He looked at Spencer and Aaron. "I'm sorry about all this."

"They are family. Close in age. Fights are inevitable." Spencer said "But that person is not Lorelai."

"I can image when someone tells you that you had to come crawling to your own family that it causing them to say things they don't mean." Bianca said looking at her daughter.

"Oh whatever. Dad didn't even bother to do the DNA test. He didn't want to know her." Hannah said

"That is so far from the truth Hannah." Matt said.

"So, you did the DNA test?" Hannah asked

"No. But my reasoning wasn't because I didn't want to know her." Matt said

"Than what was the reason?" Hannah asked

"That is not your concern." Matt said

"When are you going to stop seeing me as a little girl and tell me things?!" Hannah asked

"When you stop acting like an irresponsible teenager." Matt said

"Really? That's what you think?" Hannah said

"Since when is it responsible to drink underage? To sleep with people with out protection? To manipulate someone into not telling your parents something? If you are old enough to do these things you are old enough to deal with the fallout from the decisions." Bianca said

Hannah let tears fall.

"Your mother and I love you. So much Hannah. But you are not the same girl you were when you left home. And yes. You are likely to change as you are experiencing new things. You are growing up. But the kind, respectful, honest girl you were. Who told your mother and I everything. Where did she go? The person who would step in front of a bus for her family. Where is she?" Matt asked calmly going over to her and gently lifting her chin to look at him when he spoke.

Hannah let tears fall. "The world chewed that girl up and spit her out."

Matt sighed and wrapped her in a hug.

Aaron went and checked on the kids and Spencer took the opportunity while they were talking to go talk to his wife. He went into their room and crossed his arms giving her an unimpressed look.

"I know. I said something I shouldn't have said. I was wrong." Lorelai said

"Damn right you did. What were you thinking?" Spencer asked clearly unimpressed with his wife.

"I let her get to me." Lorelai said looking down

"You are the older cousin. You should have just walked away." He said

"I tried Spencer. She just kept following me. Like she wanted to make me snap." Lorelai said

"Okay. Yes maybe. But you let her get under your skin. You have dealt with horrible people saying nasty things to you for years and you never let it get to you." Spencer said

"Those people weren't my family." Lorelai said in tears.

Spencer went and gave her a hug. Lorelai gave him a hug.

"You know you need to fix this. Spencer said

Lorelai nodded. "I know."

The baby started to cry. She had been napping this whole time.

"You go talk to your cousin. I will take care of Hailey." Spencer said

Lorelai nodded and went out to the dining room. "Um. Am I interrupting?"

"No. Have a seat." Matt said

Lorelai sat down across from her uncle and aunt. Next to her cousin. Her father and Emily came into the room and sat down with them as well.

"You both have said things tonight that you knew were not nice. And yes. It is normal for families to fight. But we raised you better than that Hannah." Matt said to his daughter and niece.

"And I am livid Lorelai. You too were raised better." Aaron said

Hannah nodded.

"Yes sir." Lorelai said

"And we are both disappointed in you two." Bianca said

Lorelai nodded.

"Yes mom." Hannah said

"Do you have something to say to each other?" Matt asked

Hannah sighed.

Lorelai turned to her cousin. "Hannah. I shouldn't have said the things I said. They aren't true. Lots of girls your age do what you do. I do think you have more common sense than you have been showing. But maybe there is something going on that you haven't shared with me. And honestly after what I said to you I wouldn't expect you to. But if we can fix things so you feel comfortable confiding in me again I do want to be there for you."

Hannah took a breathe. "I'm sorry. I said what I said. You didn't have to come crawling. I knew you existed, and I wanted to know you. I'm glad we found you or you found us. Which ever way you look at it. And I'm sorry I lied and told you that they wouldn't support my decision. I knew they would, but they would lecture me, and I didn't want to hear it." Hannah said, "I still shouldn't have got into you head that they weren't okay with your choices. I know I kept picking at you. I was trying to make you snap. I accept your apology."

Lorelai nodded. "I hear your apology. I'm going to need time to forgive though."

Hannah nodded.

Lorelai took a breathe and looked up at her dad, Emily, uncle, and aunt.

"I'm sorry I disappointed you all. Yes dad you did raise me better. I have no excuse." Lorelai said

Aaron nodded

A little head peaked around the corner.

Lorelai noticed first. "Hey Lily. What is it?"

"Do you have ice cream?" Lily asked

Lorelai smiled. "Yes. I do believe I have ice cream sandwiches" she said. She got up and got some for all the kids before offering some and coffee to the adults. After making and serving the coffee with Emily's help before they sat back down at the table.

Spencer came down with the baby and joined them as well.

An hour or so later. Matt & Bianca left with their crew.

Emily took their kids home. Leaving Aaron there. Lorelai knew him staying meant she was in for it.
