Chapter Sixteen: Family Always Pulls through

I gritted my teeth together as I wondered how often would I end up having to explain that I am not made out of glass. "Kix... for the last time I do not need you to hand feed me!" I snatched the spoon out of his hand, exasperation flooding me. Ugh, he's worse than Hera that one time a sprained my wrist!

Kix gave me an uncertain look, doubt crossing his features. "Are you sure? We still don't know what exactly it is that your brother went through that caused you to black out..."

"I already told you! Someone was using force lightning on him and he was directing his pain across our bond so as to not feel it as much!" I snapped, annoyance flaring up inside of me.

"Look I have orders to make sure that you recover..."

"And you're being even more stubborn about this than Hera!" I exclaimed, throwing my hands into the air out of exasperation.

"Who's Hera?" Kix wrinkled his nose, even as Mace Windu, truthfully his bald head made me think that Ezra might have called him Baldy before learning his name, walked into the room.

"Hera is another member of the Specter family. Apparently Kanan is their uncle." Master Windu lowered himself into a chair while sounding completely disgusted.

"Um... Kallus and Rex are our uncles. Kanan is our old man." Sabine silently gave herself a pat on the back over the fact that she somehow didn't roll her eyes at them. "Hera's our mom."

"Okay... maybe I should have questioned Ezra on the dynamics a bit more." He arched an eyebrow upwards.

"Ya think?" Seriously? I have to work with these guys to rescue Ezra? I think I can expect Kallus, Kanan, and Rex not to sabotage each other before they get enough brain cells between them to realize the importance of asking questions. No what... they stopped during that after Ezra shot them and Kallus officially joined the family.

~Ezra's POV~

I curled into myself tightly, pain throbbing in my shoulder. Of all the many tricks Sith can do to get information... he went with force lightning!? Seriously!? That was kind of annoying... oh look. Goatee is talking again... gritting my teeth together, I prepared for another blast of lightning...

"Get away from my brother! No Specter left behind!" Sabine's voice cut Goatee off midsentence, snapping my attention away from him.

Sabine appeared to be as strong as ever, fury blazing in her eyes even as she twirled one of her babies in her left hand, ready to shoot anyone that she deemed to be a threat to me. Oh... and she was surrounded by startled clone troopers and three familiar Jedi. Mace looked almost serene as he held his lightsaber, ready for a dual... as was Anakin and Ahsoka. Oh well. They don't matter that much. "Hey 'bine."

"Just so you know Ez, you are in major trouble. What have we told you about getting captured?" Sabine's voice wasn't too serious, a hint of amusement edging it.

I grinned at that, amusement dancing in my eyes as I listed the 'rules of captivity' to her. "Rule number one, never ever assign a demeaning nickname to your captor. Rule number two, don't tell them that my name is Jabba the Hutt. Rule number three, don't tell them that my name is Hondo. Rule number four don't tell them that my name is Lando Calrissian. Rule number five, don't tell them that I'm Palpatine's nephew. Rule number six don't steal their helmets. Rule number seven wait for rescue, don't escape by yourself. Rule number eight, if you decide to break rule number seven please don't blow up wherever it is that I'm being held. Rule Number ten, don't convince them that their ship is haunted. Rule number eleven, if you get captured don't join them into blowing stuff up, smuggling ring,...oh. Or sabotage their ship. Did I miss anything?"

For some reason everyone that wasn't Sabine looked highly concerned for my wellbeing. "Rule number nine. Don't shoot fellow specters that are trying to rescue you. Wait... since when did we have a rule about tricking people into thinking that... WHY do we have a rule about tricking people into thinking that their ship is haunted!?"

"Um... why do you have specific rules about um... yeah... all of that cause I feel like there should be stories behind those rules." Anakin looked rather freaked out for some reason.

"Trust me... there are a ton of stories behind those rules." Sabine crossed her arms, only slightly exasperated over the reasoning behind the odd rules.

"Yeah! Awesome reasons!"

"No Ezra... you pranking people and accidently shooting Kanan and our uncles is not awesome reasons for having very specific rules in place."

"It was just Rex! Kallus wasn't even there!" I pouted at that, crossing my arms across my chest. Of course that was when Goatee noticed that I was no longer tied up.

"Since when did you get your chains removed!?"

I rolled my eyes skyward, suddenly wondering how it was that he has everyone convinced that he was in charge of this mess of a false war. He stormed over to me, clearly with the intention to do something about me breaking out of my chains again...

"Get away from my kids!" A random guy with long brown hair pulled back in a ponytail popped out of nowhere, punching Goatee really hard in the face before disappearing again.

The second it clicked in our minds Sabine and I lunged at where we had seen him earlier. "Kanan wait! Don't forget to take us!" Unfortunately he was already gone.

"That was Kanan!?" Mace blinked rapidly, most likely wishing he knew that earlier so that he could stop him from disappearing.

"Wonder how he got here?" Sabine mused, relief rolling off of her and towards me through her bond.

"Never mind that! We're taking Ezra and leaving... now. Before he realizes that he left you two here." Anakin grabbed me by the arm and promptly began to drag me off.

"I can walk... just so you know."

A/N: Hi! Been awhile! Sorry about that... my brain wanted Kanan to punch Dooku in the face and I couldn't get him to leave. So... I decided to give in and Kanan gets to punch Dooku in the face. Don't worry, he's back in the present now... at least he better be!
