Now one might wonder why she had given up on asking for her sword back and the reason was actually quite simple. After witnessing Zoro wield it, she realized that the sword itself loved him more. It had chosen him as a Master, much in the same way that Shigure had chosen her. So while she'd love to have it back in her possession, she felt it was wrong to take it back. Besides, if she got Wado back, she wouldn't use Shigure and then she'd feel guilty. She used Ittoryu after all.
"Mreh, too much thinking. Brain hurts," she murmured to herself as she relaxed into a chair, enjoying the morning sun. It was nice to get a quiet moment like this, especially with how loud her crew could be. Heck, even the dojo was noisy as heck sometimes. But, as she would quickly learn, silence was not a common thing when it came to being a Straw Hat Pirate.
"Kuina-chan!" came Nami's frantic voice.
"Mhm?" she turned her head to find the navigator running toward her. "What's up?"
"Look at this!" she said as she shoved a newspaper into her hands.
"Huh?"
She unfurled it and read the first article. It detailed her betrayal of the world government and how she was an insult to- blah, blah, blah. Something about honor, whatever. There was a difference between a swordsman's honor and whatever kind of honor they were bitching about. "I fail to see the problem."
"This is the problem!" Nami said as she held up the wanted poster.
Her wanted poster.
"Ah."
"I think this warrants more than an 'Ah'!"
Wanted
Dead or Alive
"Bladedancer" Tashigi
25,000,000
Wait. 25 million?! Oof, she must have really made Smoker mad. But hey! She got a cool Epithet after all!
She took the wanted poster from Nami's hands and rolled it up. "I guess I'm not a pirate virgin anymore."
"Can you please take this seriously? I thought you were one of the sane ones."
"Nami, my friend. I am one of the sane ones. Except when it comes to fighting strong opponents."
The grin on her face was startlingly similar to the one Zoro wore when he got excited.
"And if being wanted brings me more opponents, especially opponents who use swords, who am I to complain?"
"Oh god, there's two of them!"
"Ha!" she exclaimed as she slammed the wanted poster on the table in front of Zoro. "Suck it!"
Zoro for his part looked down at the poster and scowled. "How the hell did you get one before me?"
"Betraying the marines will do that for you."
"You're not going to let me live this down, are you?"
"Not a chance, mosshead."
And with him well and truly bothered for the day, she decided to go back to her breakfast. She had to give it to Sanji. He might be annoying as hell with his endless flirting, but he was a damn good cook. She actually felt stronger now that she was eating some good food. So that's one point in his corner.
Usopp had more points though. Considering the fact that he actually made her some gear! It wasn't anything spectacular, but she now had a back harness to place Shigure in. She didn't know why, but keeping the blade on her back just felt right. Maybe it's because of how damn long it was. It kept getting caught on things as she walked and she just wasn't having that.
But there was one person on this ship that had negative points. And that was her Captain.
"Luffy," she said in a honey sweet voice as she grabbed his wrist. "As a growing girl, I am in need of the nutrients this food provides me. So if you would kindly keep your hands to yourself, I'd appreciate it."
Her tone basically implied that she'd stab him if he tried that shit again.
The Captain wisely decided to retract his hand.
She merely shook her head with a smirk before returning to her meal. Hopefully he wouldn't make a habit of that. But she knew he would.
They were going to head to the Grand Line, that much was certain. But before they traversed up the legendary Reverse Mountain and made their debut, they were going to affirm their dreams.
She idly watched as they each put a single foot on the barrel while proclaiming their dream. She was the only one who hadn't done so yet, and so, with great gusto, she slammed the heel of her foot onto the barrel.
"I'm going to be the World's Greatest Swordsman and if Zoro has a problem with that, he can go cry about it!"
"Oi!"
