"Are you sure you're feeling okay enough to leave Recovery Girl's office?"

Kaminari stood closer than usual as he laced his fingers through mine.

"Of course," I started, "though I'm not going to miss those odd treatments."

He smiled, and my heart skipped a beat.

"I'm glad you're okay. I really missed you."

I blushed as he ran his hand over my cheek.

"I missed you, too."

I laid my hand against the side of his face, and sighed happily as I felt the familiar warmness of electricity through my palm. His golden eyes seemed somehow brighter, and much happier. He laid his hand on top of mine, and a sudden troubled expression crossed his face.

"Hey," I turned my head, "what is it?"

"Miya, I think I-"

He shook his head, and looked at the ground.

"I was just," he sighed, "so worried about you. When you collapsed I thought-"

His voice faded to a whisper. I squeezed his hand, and he looked over at me.

"I'm okay. I'm right here with you, and there's nowhere in the world I'd rather be."

"But what about-"

I laid my hands on the sides of his face.

"There isn't anywhere in the world that I'd want to be without you."

He wrapped his arms around me, and pulled me in close to him. I buried my face into his neck, and concentrated on the sound of his breathing.

"Kaminari?"

"Hmm? What's up, Miya?"

"Why don't you see me as everybody else does?"

He pulled his face away, and turned his head in confusion.

"What do you mean?"

"It's nothing. Just something that's been on my mind. It's not important."

I sighed as I attempted to push the lingering thought out of my head. He tucked a stray strand of hair behind my ear, and ran his fingers down my jaw.

"Anything you have to say is important to me."

My heart flipped in my chest as his fingers lingered on my chin.

"Since I started at U.A. everyone has seen me as a villain because of my Father. I felt so outcast, and alone. Bakugo still wants to kill me because of my very existence."

He chuckled from beside me, and I was taken aback.

"Bakugo can be an asshole. He talks big, but he won't actually kill you."

"What's going to stop him?"

He flashed a smile, and the knot in my stomach pulled itself tight.

"I will. I'll keep you safe. Always."

A red hot blush spread across my cheeks as he rubbed his thumb along the back of my hand.

"Why did you give Jiro up for someone like me?"

The words escaped my mouth before I could stop them. His eyes opened in surprise, and the wind blew slightly around us. His golden hair blew around his face, and I couldn't stop myself from thinking how handsome I found him. He looked at the ground sadly before he spoke.

"It's not that I gave her up. The fighting between us got to be too much. There was no fixing what was already broken."

He sighed deeply, and I took his hand in mine.

"I felt lost without Jiro in the beginning. We were always together. She was always there, and then one day she was just," he paused, "gone."

He looked back at me, and he masked the sadness in his eyes with a smile.

"Then you showed up one day, and you were like the light I needed to escape the darkness. From the second you stepped off of that elevator with Yaoyorozu I found myself thinking about you all of the time. I wondered what you were doing, and if you were thinking of me as much as I was thinking of you."

My heart beat wildly in my chest as he looked out into the distance.

"The more time I spent with you the more I knew I wanted to be with you. You weren't like how everyone was saying you were at all. Villain's daughter or not I knew I was," his hands started shaking, "that I am-"

He shifted where he sat, and then suddenly stood.

"Look, I've been wanting to say something, but I," he looked down at me, "I can't."

"You can't?"

He returned to his spot next to me, and put his head in his hands. My head swirled with confusion as I looked at him.

"If you're not ready to say whatever it is that you need to, then don't say it. When you decide you're ready, I'll be here. I promise."

His eyes lit up against the sun, and he smiled crookedly.

"I'm in love with you, Miya."

My heart skipped several beats in my chest as I attempted to process the words that had just left his lips.

"You," I swallowed, "you love me?"

He nodded, and my vision blurred.

"The first time I kissed you I was sure I had fallen in love with you, but it feels different."

"Different?" I echoed.

"With Jiro it was definitely love, but I never felt the things I feel with you when I was with her."

I turned my head.

"What things do you feel with me?"

He smiled, and then shook his head as if he were attempting to forget a thought.

"I feel happy. I don't care about anything else other than you."

The overwhelming emotion I felt was enough to make me feel faint. I laid my head on my knees, and felt electricity coursing through my hand as he took it in his.

"You didn't feel happiness with Jiro?" I asked, looking in the distance.

He sighed

"I did, and then I didn't."

"Suzume! Kaminari!"

Yaoyorozu emerged from behind where we were sitting. Blood was running down the side of her face, and her normally neat hair was disheveled.

"Yaoyorozu, what the hell happened?" I asked.

"Villains. They're attacking the school. They're followers of your Father, Suzume."

I gasped loudly as I followed her down the twisting and turning hallways of the school building. Kaminari's hand was still wrapped around mine as we ran.

"Is my Father with them?" I asked.

"There's no word. He hasn't been spotted, but that doesn't mean he's not hiding out somewhere. Mr. Aizawa thinks he sent people to come find you, Suzume."

"But I thought my Father was-"

Yaoyorozu turned a corner sharply.

"They think he escaped."

Shit. This was bad. Very, very bad.

"Kaminari," I looked over at him, "I need to tell you-"

"Miya, nothing is as important as keeping you safe. I can't lose you."

I shook my head while we ran.

"No, you need to hear this. You need to know how I feel about you. Just in case something happens."

He looked back at me.

"What do you think is going to happen?"

My stomach twisted in panic as we ran.

"If this is my Father's doing then he's going to any lengths to get me back, but that's not all."

"What else is there, Suzume?"

Yaoyorozu looked over her shoulder.

"My Father has been obsessed with seeking revenge for the death of my Mother. He blames All Might entirely so," I exhaled, "he plans to do the only thing he sees fit which happens to be ending his life."

"What?!" Yaoyorozu shouted.

"Your Father wants to kill All Might?" Kaminari asked.

"Yes, and I don't want him taking me away without you knowing that I love you, too."

His face turned a deep shade of red, and despite the severity of the situation we found ourselves in, he still found it in him to muster up a wide smile.

"You do?"

We turned another corner, and I nodded.

"I do, and I'll keep you just as safe as you're planning on keeping me."

A sinister laugh came from the hall in front of us, and we skidded to a halt. A scorpion like, insectoid creature slithered into our view.

"I do wonder what Daddy dearest would say if he heard his little girl professing her love for some," he slithered over to Kaminari, "puny little boy."

Kaminari gritted his teeth, and kept his eyes on the creature.

"What an intimidating look from such a little boy."

I stepped forward, and the creature's attention was drawn to me. It raised its long, segmented tail over its head, and moved it back and forth.

"What the hell do you want?" I asked.

"Daddy wants you to come home."

He smiled wickedly, and revealed a mouth full of sharp, pointed teeth.

"This is my home now."

Kaminari and Yaoyorozu gasped. The smile stayed plaster on the scorpion man's face.

"Oh, no. No, no, no. That won't do at all."

He flicked his tail, and exposed a large, sharp stinger on the end of it.

"What do we do?"

Yaoyorozu looked at Kaminari and I out of the corner of her eye.

"Go get help. I'll take care of this." I said.

The scorpion man growled in delight.

"Suzume, no."

Yaoyorozu looked back at me.

"I'm not leaving you."

Kaminari stood in front of me protectively.

"Three on one is a little unfair. Didn't they teach you anything at this pathetic, hellhole of a school?"

"No, but they taught me to protect what I love, and stand up for what I believe in."

I extended my wings, and took aim at the scorpion man. He raised his tail over his head, and hissed between his pointed teeth.

He slithered between Kaminari and Yaoyorozu, and towered over me. His breath was hot, and heavy. His wicked, pointed teeth were dripping with saliva.

"Say goodnight, you fucking brat."

He thrust his tail in my direction, and howled with laughter when his stinger connected with my neck.

"Miya!"

Kaminari lunged towards me.

"Get….help." I said breathlessly as I watched him and Yaoyorozu disappear into the darkness.
