Chapter 2

Boulder crept forward slowly, his eyes intent on stalking a fat pidgeo. Stupid pidgeon. Doesn't even know I'm here..

With a quick pounce, he killed the bird. Then, carrying the pidgeon and a shrew that he had caught earlier, he started walking back to the temporary camp.

As he was walking, bright tortoiseshell fur at the edge of his vision caught his eye. He padded closer.

A pretty brown, black and white she-cat stood, gazing thoughtfully around the territory. She glanced at Boulder. "Are you one of those Clan cats?"

"Um.." Boulder replied, "Well, yes, I am."

"Oh." The she-cat paused for a moment, then continued, "I guess I'd better go, if this part is still considered Clan territory."

Boulder wondered why she had said 'Clan territory' so sarcastically.

Finally! Boulder thought as he arrived in the temporary camp. Tigerstar watched approvingly as he set his two catches down on the prey-pile.

"Good." the dark tabby meowed. "If you are hungry, you may take one piece of prey. Go eat in the warriors den, Jaggedtooth will show you where."

Boulder nodded, and grabbed a rabbit from the prey-pile. Then, Jaggedtooth led him to the warriors den. Exhausted from the long journey the TigerClan had taken to arrive, and also tired from his hunting, Boulder finished his prey in a few swift bites, and closed his eyes.

"Tigerstar's calling for a meeting." Tangleburr meowed. "Get up, you lazy cat-"

She prodded Boulder with a paw. "Fine." Boulder grumbled. He and followed Tangleburr out of the warriors den.

Tigerstar stood, head held up proudly. He announced, "Though TigerClan is strong as ever, we have less cats than before.."

He paused with a growl. "Those traitors. They will be punished." The rest of the TigerClan cats cheered loudly, and Boulder joined in.

"Tigerstar has the right idea.." Tangleburr whispered to Boulder. "I'm glad I chose to follow him." She stared at Tigerstar, admiration shining in her eyes.

Boulder nodded. "Yeah. If I hadn't followed him.." He shuddered. "I hate to think what would happen to me. The rest of the Clans are weak. TigerClan is not."

Those traitors WILL be punished. He suppressed a snarl. His SISTER had even stayed with the traitors. I'll prove her wrong. I'll prove to her that she made the wrong choice.

Tigerstar continued with his speech. "So.." Tigerstar meowed loudly and clearly. "We will be accepting rogues into our Clan. As long as they know and accept the rules. About kittypets.. They will be accepted too. But they must first prove that they can hunt and fight."

With that, the mighty tabby warrior leaped down and padded out of camp. "Meeting dismissed." He called over his shoulder. "I'm going hunting. Stumpytail, Boulder, you two bring Darkpaw and go hunting as well."

Boulder and Stumpytail nodded respectfully. Boulder knew Darkpaw would need some training though, before he could hunt well. He's a new apprentice after all...

Boulder brought his prey back to camp. Darkpaw gazed at him and Stumpytail with wide eyes. "I want to do more training tomorrow." She meowed eagerly.

"Sure." Stumpytail replied. "Tomorrow."

After a while, Tigerstar also returned to camp. He set his prey down and went inside the leader's den.
