Ch24: Mega Frenzy
Michael was seen outside of Professor Kukui's house as he watched the area carefully for anyone suspicious that might come by. After what happened with the return of Team Neo Flare, things need to be done more carefully immediately.
With how Team Neo Flare saw their face, they shouldn't go their separate way as Professor Kukui agreed in the situation that the island might be under. Not to mention that Mizuki is still a novice trainer and Michael felt uncomfortable if she end up facing Neo Flare that might possess unknown numbers of Mega Pokemon at their disposal.
Michael stands beside the limousine with Lillie's driver, who Lillie instructed ahead to help Michael after he calls her ahead. The redhaired boy observed the area before Mizuki and RotomDex come out of the house immediately.
"I'm ready, Michael," Mizuki said. Though she is scared at first before feeling better that she'd be staying with friends that she is familiar with.
"We best get going now," Michael said quietly as he opens the door for the young girl.
With that, Mizuki and RotomDex come into the vehicle as Michael sat down after closing the door behind them.
Soon the limousine was seen driving away from where Professor Kukui's house was and onto the mansion.
Professor Kukui is waiting at the chair in the police office room before Officer Jenny returned to the office room with a grimaced expression.
"I'm afraid that you might be right…" Officer Jenny said grimace.
"I won't be lying if it wasn't that this might be dangerous to the entire island itself." Professor Kukui stated, crossing his arms.
"I want to ask… but do you think Tapu Koko might stop the weapon?" Asked Officer Jenny as if everything might fail.
"You should know that Tapu Koko might not show up when people needed, Officer Jenny." Professor Kukui stated. "The ancient weapon that ended Kalos War is very dangerous because it can take away life, but the chance of Tapu Koko last long to destroyed it is very slim." Though it is just a theory since he has never seen a legendary pokemon lose their life before.
"I see. How long do you think we have before they sent that weapon?" Asked Officer Jenny.
"It's hard to say. But I can imagine they'll probably make sure all opposing forces in the way to be removed first so they won't repeat their first mistake." Professor Kukui said.
"I see… I'll get all available officers to be alerted and established patrols around the island soon as possible." Officer Jenny said.
Unknown to the two, there was someone else that was listening in on the conversation that occurs between the two. The figure soon moved away after hearing enough so that they won't be discovered from eavesdropping what's been going on with the professor and officer.
Mizuki is currently seen with Lillie and Michael as the three move up the staircase after coming into the mansion.
"Thank you for letting me stay over, Lillie," Mizuki said, holding her suitcase in her right hand.
"It's not a problem, Mizuki," Lillie reassured, holding Shiron in her arms. When she heard about what happened from Michael, she know that it might be best for Mizuki to take shelter in her place.
"The only thing matter is making sure that you're safe. Though it makes might things unsetting with Team Neo Flare returned to the island again." She added.
"Do you think Floette could be alright, Michael?" Mizuki asked.
"It's hard to say but I say that she might gain some distance from Neo Flare in the meantime. If Professor Kukui managed to conversed authorities, at least it makes Neo Flare unable to move too out openly." Michael replied. Not that he has much faith, but at least, they can do is help gauge how the strength of Neo Flare and identified their Mega Pokemons than charging forward like before.
"They'll also have to deal with the Island Kanhuna and his pokemon too, Bzzt!" RotomDex added.
"True. I hoped this won't turn up bad for the relation between Kalos and Alola." Lillie said, concerning whether or not this will have any effects on both regions.
That depends on whether or not they fired the weapon… Michael thought concerned. The redheaded boy felt that even if this conflict was resolved, the weapon shouldn't remain in anyone's hands. With the research he has done about what happened to the villain teams of this world, something like that can't fall into the wrong hands.
It wasn't long until they made their way to the guest room that Lillie already had arranged for Mizuki.
"Again, I thank you for letting stayed for the time being," Mizuki said, placing her suitcase and backpack on the guest bed.
"It isn't a problem," Lillie said.
"Anyway, I think Lillie could help you more with adjusting here," Michael said. "I'm going to help the security in watching over the mansion."
"Of course, Michael," Lillie replied.
As the redheaded boy left the guest room, Lillie started to help Mizuki by telling her where things are and things in her household.
Outside of Iki Town, we can see the immortal man known as AZ leaving the town after asking around for the sight of Floette. There were some sightings but he knows that his old friend had left the places already after Neo Flare make their moves. Despite knowing that this island is at risk, the immortal man still comes to this region. To be reunited with the one he calls his friend.
His search went on for three thousand years until he find out that the remnant of Team Flare have them. So he went to track down their whereabouts and interrogated a member of the remnant.
He got more than he originally bargained.
(Flashback)
Golurk's large fist gripped tightly around the Flare member as the Automation Pokemon pinned him to the wall.
"Now then…" AZ said, approaching the young agent. "Where is Floette?" he questioned sharply.
"W-What…? What Floette-" But Golruk's grip tightened hard on the agent.
"Don't lie… I know your organization has her…" AZ said darkly bluntly. "A blue Floette with crimson flower."
"I! I will talk! Please let… go!" The agent pleaded.
"Golurk," AZ said, giving his pokemon a silent gesture. The Golurk obey and released the agent as the Flare member caught his breath.
"Where did you take Floette?" AZ questioned sharply.
"A-Alola… Melemele Island…" Flare agent answered.
"What for!?" AZ questioned, grabbing the man's necktie to lift him with surprising strength.
"The weapon… she is the key… to Ultimate Weapon." The Flare agent answered, making the immortal man's eyes widen.
The memories of many Pokemon perished in his mind.
"That can't be…! How!? I thought you guys already used that weapon." AZ uttered in disbelief.
"Master Xerosic have the original to fulfill Master Lysandre's wish… for our world paradise…. That Floette is the only key to activate it. That's all I know…" Flare Agent said. "I never imagine… the destroyer come once aga-"
The older man gritting his teeth before he throws the Flare Agent to the wall and lets him roll down the staircase.
(Present)
It looks like his objective become two. He also needs to atone for his act of creating the Ultimate Weapon that Neo Flare got their hands on. The weapon that associated with the legendary Pokemon of Life and Death.
He left the weapon in the hand of his brother who hid it as a promise that no one would use that weapon. It wasn't a surprise that Team Flare's Lysandre find the very weapon due to his close relationship with his younger brother.
He heard about Lysandre used the power of legend pokemon Zygarde for the weapon before he and his plan were stopped by local trainers who stopped him. AZ didn't weep for the loss of Lysandre as he didn't have any left for the man and was continued on his search.
The immortal man did hear another trainer halt Neo Flare and warned him and his class. He didn't blame them for being doubtful because of who he was in the past. He also hated what he had done and knew that it cost his friendship with his precious friend.
AZ glances up at the sunset. 'This time… I will end that legacy if it means to earn your forgiveness, my old friend.'
For the next few hours, Michael was seen working with the security group that arranged around the mansion to prepare if Neo Flare ever tries to break into the mansion as several plans were discussed what they probably going to do upon encountering them and what likely approachable actions might occur. It wasn't long until dinner is prepared as Michael and Espeon made their way through the hallway.
(At least, we don't have to worry too much about resorting to psychic scanned for identified imposters.) Espeon said.
'This is what I can do for them at the moment. The only thing we can do is wait and see how Neo Flare does from here…' Michael thought and headed out to the backyard.
(And what about helping locate the Floette? If we find her, then we can least be able to prevent them from firing weapons.) Espeon asked, rubbing his paw against his face.
That is true as Floette is the main component of the main destructive weapon. Though Michael initiated worried about Team Neo Flare might not be worth the concerns, he remembered how painful the process of Mega Wave on pokemon was. Not only them, Floette too is likely one who needs help. She has already fled from the scene of the battle and could be anywhere on Melemele Island as they speak. AZ and Neo Flare are focused on searching for her at the very moment.
'We also should consider what happens if that scientist has a backup plan to power that machine.' Michael pointed out as he watched the pokemon playing in the playground. They need to be careful if Neo Flare does have a backup plan, or the chances they might do something worse. Worse than the time when Cipher retaliated on his—
(Michael, calm down.) Espeon said as the redhead's headshake out of shock. (This time, everything is different now. Everyone isn't being distrustful or backstabbed each other here on this island. I'm sure that things might turn out differently.)
"I-I'm sorry about that, Espeon," Michael whispered.
(I know it will take a long time to heal from it. But I am fine as long as we're together.) Espeon said.
While Lillie is helping Mizuki, RotomDex flew through the hallway of the mansion and made its way to the room of a certain redhead trainer.
"So this is what it looks like here, bzzt!" RotomDex commented, looking around the place with careful eyes. Even since arriving at the mansion for the second time, RotomDex has been rather curious about what lies within Michael's room.
Though the room isn't as fancy as Mizuki's, it is also quite organized at the same time. However, sleeping on top of the bed at the moment was none other than Michael's Ninetales.
"I wonder if he hides anything secrets around here…" RotomDex wondered quietly, peeking underneath the bed and seeing nothing out of ordinary. "Nothing here."
The RotomDex then turned toward the closet and made its way toward the closet in hope of finding out any secrets.
But it couldn't get any further.
"H-Huh…? What the…" RotomDex felt like its head started to feel dizzy and collapsed to the ground before falling into unconsciousness. "Bzzt… Bzzt…"
With that RotomDex fell deep into sleep on the ground that it didn't notice that Ninetales approached the pokemon.
'Sorry, Rotom. But this world isn't ready for the secret that we shared with Michael…' The Kantoian Ninetales thought before picking it up with her jaws. It is a good thing that she is resting nearby when RotomDex is too curious for it good to peek into places that it never should touch. Especially the place where the fabled Snag Machine is sealed tight at the moment.
Ninetales made her way out of the door and looked for her Michael. This way, they will have fewer people know about the existence of the Snag Machine, the better that they kept their past hidden from everyone else here.
(Next day)
It was another morning in the mansion, though the main focus that we're currently witnessing was that Lillie, Shiron, Mizuki, and RotomDex were on the television.
"Oh my…" RotomDex gasped.
"We don't know how it is possible, but Officer Jenny and several officers in the office being injury on patrol by unknown attacks." The reporter said.
"You don't think that…" Mizuki whispered, holding her mouth with her right hand at the horrifying sight that they're currently just witnessing.
"Neo Flare did this…" Lillie finished with a similar expression that Mizuki have.
"M-Michael… what do you make of this?" Lillie asked, shaking a bit in shock.
Michael standing with Espeon beside him at the entrance of the living room. The redhead boy stares silently at the screen of the television.
(Looks like they're sent out a message to us, Michael.) Espeon said since they were the ones who ruined their first invasion onto the island itself.
Not that the redhead is that impressed with who they target. If Neo Flare wants to send a message, they would go after Hala instead. Although he won't say that in front of the girls since it will make him look very inhumane.
"A-Are you sure!?" RotomDex exclaimed.
"It looks like they're going to show how serious that they might be with the first attack on the authority," Michael said grimace.
"W-Why would they do something like that?" Asked Lillie confused by what he just says.
"Think of this way, Lillie. If they attack an authority that a region knows, it will affect everyone's morale." Michael explains stoic.
"Do you think that they might go after Hala?" Asked Mizuki.
"Maybe. I will be heading out now." Said Michael before leaving the living room with his pokemon.
"Michael, where are you going?" Asked Mizuki after snapping out of shock.
"Just something that I need to check. Stay here." Replied Michael before heading out of the front door with Espeon.
(In Pokemon Center)
Michael frowns as the redhead Orre Native looks at the running place of the Pokemon Center where Nurse Joy and other doctors are currently busy with taking in the injured officers.
(Can't say that they were like us once…) Espeon remarked.
"The Pokemon Center isn't suitable for many officers…" Michael remarked quietly before shaking his head. He and Espeon soon made their presence known to Nurse Joy who comes out of the back room.
"I'm sorry that you have to see this place being busy, Michael." Nurse Joy said with a tired expression.
"Anyway, is it true that they were attacked?" Asked Michael firmly in his tone.
"Yes," Nurse Joy confirmed. "It happens sometime last night in their headquarter. Though we didn't find anyone responsible for the attack, we know that they were attacked by Pokemons that were brought out by their attackers."
"So they were found like this in the morning. Were there any witnesses of the attacks?" Michael asked.
Nurse Joy shakes her head. "I am afraid none of the officers were able to answer your questions when they are in a state like this." She said solemnly.
"I see. That is unfortunate. Then I will be my way." Michael said before turning around and leaving with his Espeon.
(It looks like she's right. Officer Jenny and her officers didn't know who was responsible for the attack but that the attacks were dealt with them on their blind spot.) Espeon informed.
Michael can't help frown. That is another thing he disliked since that time when Team Snagem pulled the underhanded Sleep Powder on him.
It is still a surprise that the officers are still alive after the ordeal despite what Neo Flare is following their original plan.
Michael is thinking that he might check on the police station. Maybe he could— Michael soon snapped out of his thoughts as a large crack on top of the Pokemon Center was shown.
"What the—!?" Michael and everyone in the Pokemon Center look up at the disturbing purple glowing eyes of what looks like a Steelix glaring down at them.
But what is more different was that the Steelix's face is bulky and armored! Michael can recognize the pokemon as the Mega state of Steelix.
"Why is there a Mega Steelix here!?" Nurse Joy gasped in shock.
The Iron Snake Pokemon soon moved out of the building in anger as it caused debris.
"Make sure that everyone else is safe!" Michael shouts, leaving the building with Espeon.
Soon they were in for a surprise that it wasn't just Steelix under the influence of Mega Wave. There are Scisor, Pidgeot, Lopunny, and Manetric are under the same effect that Steelix is currently in.
"Steelix, please snap out of it!" An older man pleaded to the Mega Steelix who growls at him before charging viciously at him.
'Espeon, keep Steelix busy!' Michael mentally shouts as Espeon leaps forward and summoned a Protect to blocked the headbutt attack and sent Steelix back.
Michael hurry to the shock of the trainer who was still shaking after what happened with his pokemon.
"Why is your pokemon behaving like this!?" Michael questioned sharply. He looks at the man and didn't see the Mega Wave device or Mega Stone on his belongings.
"I-I don't know… I was in a battle before Steelix suddenly behaved differently and he turned into that!" The man said, shaking in fear.
"Can't you return your pokemon to his pokeball?" Michael questioned seriously.
"I TRIED THAT ALREADY! WHY DON'T YOU THINK THAT I HADN'T DONE THAT YET! ALL MY POKEMONS WERE KNOCKED OUT!?" Steelix's trainer exclaimed in frustration at his out-of-control Pokemon.
At least this gives Michael a reason to not doubt the trainer being incompetent for not stopping his pokemon. If something like this ever occurs to him, he will probably have a similar reaction.
'So that explains why he is frantic and didn't do that…' Michael rubs his forehead before turning back to see Espeon trying to hold against Mega Steelix with Iron Tail.
Out of control Mega Pokemon… This is going to be bad, Michael thought darkly.
Elsewhere on Melemele Island, we can see trouble occurs where blue flame were searing through the forest at the very moment.
"Charizard, stop it!" Kiawe's voice shout as the young man was trying to go after his Charizard who is currently on a rampage at the very moment.
He didn't know how it happened since they were on a delivery close to Suiren's neighborhood. That is when Charizard began to acting strange before starting to acting wilder than before as his Ride Pokemon becomes an out of control Mega Pokemon.
"Kiawe, what in the world happened with Charizard!?" Suiren asked as she and Popplio coming to the scene.
"I don't know…! Something to him before he turned into Mega X." Kiawe explained warily.
"This is really bad." Suiren said with concerned. "Can't you return him back to his pokeball?" the blue haired girl asked.
Kiawe shakes his head as he showed her that Charizard didn't have any respond when he pressed the button his pokeball. "Whatever cause Charizard's transform made him become unresponsive to my pokeball…" he said.
Mega Charizard X continued firing more blue flame into the woods until a large rock was thrown against the face.
"That is far enough." Hala said as he entered the scene with Hariyama beside him.
"Hala!" Both Suiren and Kiawe said in union.
The out of control Mega Pokemon growls and went charging at them with glowing wings.
"Hariyama, Fake Out."
Hariyama's hands glow orange as it claps them together. When it claps, a large shockwave of air comes out of them, stopping the out of control Charizard.
"Close Combat!" Hala shouts.
Hariyama repeatedly punches and kicks the Charizard at a fast speed. Process of knocking him across the trees itself.
"Charizard, are you alright?!" Kiawe asked, trying to get close to his Pokemon.
But Hala stops him with his arm reach out and this made Kiawe looks confused.
"Whatever causing Charizard pain isn't out of him yet, Kiawe…" The black Charizard growls with violet colored eyes as he getting up from the ground.
"GRRR…"
"Charizard…" Kiawe said with worried.
"Don't worry, the only way to get him out of the state is defeating him in battle." Hala said calmly. "That will be the only window of opportunity to free him."
"Fine! If that is what it take… then I will help too!" Kiawe said throwing out his pokeball. "Turtonator!"
The Blast Turtle Pokemon soon crash onto the ground and holding back against the black Charizard who tackled into him.
Espeon and Mega Steelix are trading blow with a blow against each other. Due to being smaller than Steelix, Espeon is more mobile than larger pokemon like Steelix. The Mega Wave influenced Pokémon to seem heavily able to hold his ground against Michael's Espeon.
Michael is thinking about what that trainer says about what happened to his Steelix. If he's telling the truth, then it means a lot of pokemon with the ability to Mega Evolved being at risk of turning into one against their own free will. And there is one group Michael knows might be responsible for since they have the technology to accomplish it.
'Damn, I never imagine they were prepared for something like this! It's too dangerous that their trainers aren't able to return them to their pokeballs.' Michael thought glaring at the Mega Pokemons that caused quite a disturbance around the city right now. If he knew this is going to happen, then he could have brought his Snag Machine and—
'No, they aren't Shadow Pokemons for crying out loud!' Michael gritted his teeth at his thoughts back to the Snag Machine. There are no reasons for him to ever need that tool again! The Shadow Pokemons don't exist in this world!
The redhead shakes his head and immediately stares at the back of the battle. He reached for one of his Pokeball on his belt and released the pokemon from within it.
"Milotic, back up with Hydro Pump!" The redhead shouts as Milotic materialized out of the Pokeball and assisted the lavender pokemon.
"Lotic!" The Slender Pokemon fired sheer pressure of water from her mouth at Mega Steelix.
Michael originally have in mind Shelgon but he remembered that Steelix in his Mega form could withstand all temperatures.
Espeon moved out of the way as Mega Steelix let out a painful scream after being shot by the pressure of a Hydro Pump. Although it was knocked down hard, Mega Steelix got back up again and swings his tail to release a sandstorm from his body.
(Not so fast!) Espeon's eyes glow immediately and used his psychic power to send it back against Mega Steelix, who gritted his large teeth from the reversed sandstorm.
"Milotic, again!" Michael shouts as another Hydro Pump was released at Mega Steelix once again.
This hits Steelix hard and knocked it hard to the ground before a brief glow occurs and returned Steelix to his normal state.
"Sent him back to his pokeball now!" Michael ordered the trainer. He has an idea that whatever causes these Digimon to undergo mega-state will still be in effect.
The trainer nodded immediately before returning his Steelix into the pokeball. After that, he placed the pokeball into his pocket.
"Thank you!" The trainer said before heading inside of the Pokemon Center.
Michael soon turns and glares at the other Mega Pokemons who are causing chaos across the city at the moment. The sudden downfall of Mega Steelix caused their attention to be drawn to the redhead trainer and his two pokemon.
'Looks like we might be in a fight for our life since their trainers' aren't around…' Michael thought. Without their trainers, they won't be able to prevent the Pokemons from keep being influenced by whatever caused their Mega state transformation.
(Well. I can try to freeze them for the time being.) Milotic mentally remarked.
(We're on a tropical island, Milotic. They will just break free!) Espeon said.
"Get a grip you two!" Michael's voice snapped them out of their conversation and engaged as the Mega Pokemons came at them.
Mega Lopunny charged ahead to attack with a Jump Kick before getting blasted hard by Espeon's Psychic. This led Mega Manetric to charge forward with Thunderbolt.
"Ice Beam!" Michael shouts as Miltoic fired an icy blast to countered Mega Manetric's Thunderbolt. The two attacks are powerful enough to cause a large explosion for both sides.
Mega Manetric, Mega Pidgeot, and Mega Scizor shake their head from the explosion as they were ready to go back—
Not before they were blasted away by the unexpected Flamethrower of Shelgon, Ice Beam of Milotic, and Hyper Beam from Espeon. The attacks knocked them hard as they were struck to palm trees and buildings at the same time.
Rather than reversed back to their original state, the four Mega got back up from the ground once again like puppets on strings.
"I guess it will be disappointed that if you lots dropped down so easily," Michael remarked.
Mega Manetric let out a roar before releasing a powerful electrified across the area that caused Milotic some pain. Then the three other Mega pokemon come at them immediately.
"Shelgon, Dragon Spin!" Michael shouts.
Shelgon soon charged forward and rolled across the field while using the essence of Dragon Rush to knock both Scisor and Lopunny aside while Mega Pidgeot dodged the move.
"Steel Wings!" Suddenly coming out of the air was none other than a pokemon Michael recognized as a Braviary who soar behind Mega Pidgeot and landed a surprise attack.
But Mega Pidgeot recovered and came at vengeance to Braviary as its wings glow. The two Flying Pokemons clashed with each other as they tried to outpace each other in speed.
"Michael, are you alright!?" Professor Kukui asked as he and a couple of trainers come up to him.
"We're fine," Michael stated. "We need to find the trainers of these pokemon to put them back to their pokeballs. Whatever caused them to be like this will keep them moving regardless of how injured they are."
"So that's what happened…" Professor Kukui said grimace.
"Please, you have to help our pokemon!" One of the trainers pleaded.
"We will do what we can to make sure that they're safe and won't harm anyone." Another trainer said.
"Very well, I will hold you on it," Michael stated calmly before turning toward Mega Manetric who came at them with electricity covering the entire body.
At the same time, Mega Scizor has glowing wings and charges from another direction.
'Espeon turned Scizor on Manetric with Psychic!' Michael shouts.
Espeon's eyes glow before forcing Mega Scizor flight pattern and making him face against Manetric with their attacks collided with each other. The collision of both powers caused Mega Lopunny to fly uncontrollably in the air.
"Shelgon, Dragonbreath! Milotic, Ice Beam!" Michael shouts as both of the attacks struck Mega Lopunny hard and knocked the pokemon to the ground unconscious.
Braviary and Mega Pidgeot are currently still in their sky battle the moment as Mega Pidgeot released a powerful gust of wind at Braviary.
"Dodge and used Rock Slide!" Professor Kukui shouts.
"BRAV!" Braviary moved out of the way as he creates multiple white orbs of energy around himself. The orbs of energy then turn into large gray rocks with white outlines and Braviary flicks one of his wings forward, causing the rocks to be thrown at Mega Pidgeot.
Mega Pidgeot couldn't be any surprise when being hit by the incoming move Rock Slide.
Not far from where the building was seen, standing on top of a building was Essentia, who was scanning the battles that occurs.
"They take out the ones from the city…" Essentia said. "It doesn't matter considered that they won't hold against what Xerosic has for them next." She turned around and leaped down from the building at the moment as a faint buzz noise can soon be heard next.
"Brave Bird!" Professor Kukui shouts as Braviary flew with orange light around his body and rammed Mega Pidgeot hard in the gut.
Mega Pidgeot soon fell to the ground before a reversal back to its original state. But there is a red light coming to recaptured Pidgeot and others as they returned to their original trainers.
"That should be all of them." Professor Kukui said.
"Thank you." One of the trainers said to the stoic redhead. "Now we can get them-"
"Get out of the way!" Michael pushed other trainers out of the way from purple darts coming from the sky.
They didn't land on anyone as everyone looks up as there were shock expression on everyone. They soon saw a large swarm of Beedrill. But there is something completely different about their appearance.
The antennae are shorter and T-shaped. Its eyes become longer and sleeker. It now has three pairs of wings; the uppermost pair is larger with black trim along the top. Its stingers become longer and larger, resembling lances. Additional conical, black-and-yellow stingers with white tips take the place of its legs. Its abdomen becomes larger, grooved, and is attached to its thorax by a black structure. A similar black structure connects its head and thorax. The stinger on its abdomen is now a pale yellow, and it now has black stripes over its entire body.
"Mega Beedrills… a swarm of them here!?" One of the trainers gasped in fear.
The only way for them to get this many Beedrill… is from the wild, Michael thought darkly.
"To think that they get this far in their Mega Wave technology." Professor Kukui said grimace. "Get to the Pokemon Center! Quick!" He instructed to the other trainers who frankly run to the Pokemon Center.
The Mega Beedrills soon fly toward them a moment with their large stingers facing their direction at the moment.
Espeon, Psychic! Milotic, Ice Beam! Shelgon, Flamethrower!' Michael mentally commanded.
"Esp!" Espeon's eyes glow as he mustered every psychic power into the air.
"Lot!" Milotic unleashed icy blast up ahead.
"Grrr!" Shelgon fired flame from his throat and sent it into the air.
"Braviary, Brave Bird again!" Professor Kukui added as his pokemon assisted Michael's pokemon against the Mega swarm.
The four attacks unleashed against the swarm of Mega Beedrills released a powerful explosion in the air. But more Mega Beedrill pressed forward without any reaction to what happened to their comrades who were struck down to the ground by their attack.
"BZZZZZ…!"
'Shelgon, Pattern Attack S! Milotic, Pattern Attack B!' Michael mentally commanded.
Shelgon's armor-like body glows intensely when a Mega Beedrill tries to impaled his hard body with the stingers.
Two Mega Beedrills tried to fire Pin Missile, Miltoic summoned a mirror-like shield to block the attacks. Her tail soon glows with water energy as she swings both Mega Beedrills back from her.
Espeon charged forward with Iron Tail on one Mega Beedrill to make it taste the ground before a powerful gust of winds from Braviary knocked away the remains back.
(Michael, I need the Psychium-Z now!) Espeon shouts serious.
Michael immediately pressed on his Psychium-Z and did the pose for the Z-move immediately. "Give everything you got, Espeon!" The power transferred to his Espeon's whose eyes are glowing at the very moment. "Shattered Psyche!" He shout.
Soon the area turned colorful as Espeon's eyes focused on several Mega Beedrills and tossed them around at the dimension until they fell from the air.
The attack was enough to knock the remaining Mega Beedrills to the ground and reverted to their original state.
Espeon, Milotic, and Shelgon panting and exhausting from the fight itself. Michael immediately got out some MooMoo Milks from his pockets and gave them to his pokemon to helped them with their fatigue.
"Dang... I never imagine how much progress you made with Shattered Psyche. How did you target multiple?" Professor Kukui asked impressively.
"It's an idea," Michael said. "And how many pokeballs do you have on you, Professor?"
"I only have ten on me at the moment. It just slipped my Calm Mind." Professor Kukui said awkwardly.
Suddenly they heard movements as they saw Beedrills getting up from the ground regardless of how much pain they were in. Not to mention the hideous purple glow in their eyes still there.
"B-Bzzzt…"
"I knew this is going to happened," Michael said.
"The more I see, Neo Flare created a very dangerous weapon." Professor Kukui stated calmly at the condition of the pokemons.
Before the mindless Beedrills do anything, they were completed frozen solid in ice.
"That will keep them unconscious for the time being." A familiar voice of Hala said as he approached them. Standing beside Hala was a large white crab pokemon covered in white fur and had two paw-printed boxing-like hands.
'If I recall… that's Crabominable. The Evolved form of Crabrawler…' The redhead noted the appearance of the pokemon with Hala.
"It's been a while, Hala." Michael greeted calmly.
"You've done well for holding out this long," Hala said. "But I am afraid these aren't the only ones that you need to content as there are more spotted."
"Yeah… Neo Flare is showing that they are serious about their goal by making a quick and surprise attack." Professor Kukui said.
"The only thing we know how Mega Wave is that it somehow kind of sound tool." Michael pointed out. "But the question is where exactly?"
"Michael, I would like to ask you something," Hala said.
"What is it?" The redhead boy asked.
"I want you to searched and protected Floette from Neo Flare." The Island Kahuna requested, making Michael blinks a bit in surprise.
"Hala, are you sure about this?" Asked Professor Kukui.
"With how they take polices and other trainers by surprise, I was certain that I will be one of those trainers on standby." Michael pointed out how things turned out this morning.
"As an adult, I know," Hala replied grimace. "But as adults, it's our jobs to make sure that our islanders' and pokemons' safety is our priority. And you have proven that you are capable of taking care of yourself since you stayed on the island, Michael. That is why I ask you not as an adult, but as fellow trainers to help protect Floette. No Pokemon deserved to be suffered to use as doomsday weapon."
"…" Michael noticed that Professor Kukui is giving a concerned expression despite not saying anything at the moment.
(It looks like they both know that they need to stay here to help with the pokemon in need since the remaining adults are only a couple of them due to what happened with Neo Flare.) Espeon said from reading their thoughts.
Michael is a bit surprised that Hala of all people asks him to do the task. Protecting Floette and preventing Neo Flare from activating their doomsday weapon. Though it will burden anyone who barely started as a trainer. But Hala asks him as someone capable of taking care of himself.
'What do you think, Espeon?'
(Do you want to sit back from this?) Espeon asked.
"I guess that I had no choice with lot of pokemon at risk because of them. I will see what I can do. After I let Nurse Joy check my Pokemons' conditions." Michael said before returning both Shelgon and Milotic into their pokeballs. "Professor Kukui."
"Yeah?" Professor Kukui asked.
"I hoped you don't mind not telling others what I am doing," Michael stated. Not that he worried about others, but none of them had had six pokemon making them very unreliable for a task like this.
"Sure, Michael." Professor Kukui said smiled. "In return, you better come back safely." Even though this might be the most dangerous task for a normal boy, as a teacher, he should least have faith in him.
Michael didn't say anything as he and Espeon made their way to the Pokemon Center.
