All three teams were ready. The team on the Borg Earth, in the Bajoran wormhole, and here in Devidian territory were in place, as the chaos of battle raged on. "Here we go!" Picard called as he hit the switch.
They were engulfed in white light.
"Do you know how hard it is to save a universe when two groups are trying to kill it at the same time?" an annoyed voice demanded.
"Q!" Picard yelped.
Picard was faintly surprised by how raggedy Q looked. He was dressed in his usual robes, but slumped in his judges throne.
"But... the prime timeline!" Picard started.
"Oh, the Prime Timeline is safe," Q waved it off.
Picard took a steadying breath, "What did you do, Q?"
"Relax, mon Capitain," Q told him. "We the Q, the Meterons, and several other semi-cosmic beings have cut away your 'First splinter' and it's Mirror Universe."
Picard visibly relaxed. "Thank you, Q."
"I should say we couldn't fix everything... but you shouldn't notice much difference," Q added.
Before Picard could say anymore, Q gestured and he was gone.
"I always loved a happy ending," Q noted. He stood up straight, judge robes replaced by a military uniform. "Now, time to go visit the OTHER Picard..."
The End...?
Notes: I sort of liked/disliked CODA. On one hand I was happy they kind of wrapped up the books, but I didn't appreciate the 'Rocks Fall, Everyone Dies' plot. Plus, no Q! So I decided to have him swoop in and fix everything.
Apparently the writers were banned from using Q because he's in Picard season 2.
