I am so unbelievably tired as of late, and my sleep schedule is fucked. It is a lot trying to balance this writing stuff and then literally every other part of my life at the moment. But writing this story and publishing it for you guys has brought a sense of confidence and purpose to my work. I love seeing the number of people reading go up and seeing that someone has left a review for me to see.
Though I do have to thank Foley700 for being the only person to leave reviews so far. It's a special kind of encouragement being able to read how much they're enjoying the story and giving me their opinion on some instances.

As you can tell, the alarm continuously blared out throughout the late evening. All the campers got out of their respective spots in the stands and rushed to meet up with each other. An automated message was played over the intercom, no longer a woman's voice, this was a male and had a more serious tone to it.
"Attention. All park-goers must report to the South Ferry Dock for immediate evacuation. Last ferry departs in two hours."
Brooklynn and Sammy stopped running as they arrived at a more central point in the stands for everyone to meet up.
"That's it? No explanations? That's all we get?" Brooklynn asks out loud.
Darius and Kenji were the next ones to meet up as they vaulted over the railing to join the girls.
"We have to move. The only way we're gonna make it is if we run." Darius said to them.
"Um…" Sammy hummed as she looked back at the two who were joining them now, which were Cass and Yasmina, with Cass rolling his shoulders and hissing in pain from the fall he took. "Are we sure that's the best way to get there?" She asks Darius.
"I'll be fine, Sammy. It hurts, but not enough to slow me down. Plus, I've had worse." Cass tells the girl as he and Yaz lean up against the railing.
"You should be way more worried about Ben and Bumpy." Yasmina said as she thumbed in the direction of the two as they finally caught up.
Ben and Bumpy finally came to a stop, with Ben panting as he caught his breath. "What we should all be worried about is catching a boat out of here and, naturally, we have a problem." He says as he pulls out a map from his fanny pack and sets it down on a bench for everyone to see. "We're here." He points to their location at the lagoon. "The docks are on the southern tip of the island." He moved his finger to said location. "Even if we ran at Yaz's full speed, there's no way we'd make the last boat out."
"You don't know that." Sammy tried to argue.
Ben scoffs at her. "Yes, I do. I memorized the evacuation plan on the ferry ride over." He explained which caused everyone to groan out except Cass.
"Good thinking, Ben. As for the rest of you, I'd rather us have fewer options than to waste time on pointless ones." Cass said as he crossed his arms and looked at his group of campers, with Ben giving him a look of appreciation.
Yasmina sighs. "He's right, sorry, Ben." She scratches the back of her head in embarrassment.
"Same here." Sammy says to him. And each of the other campers gave their own form of apology to him.
"Okay, so we need another way. Um..." Darius said as he hopped up on a seat to get everyone's attention just to hop down and go towards the railing. "Can we use those somehow?" He says as he points towards the kayaks still in the lagoon. "Or send someone to tell the ferry people to wait? Or…" Darius tried to pull any idea he could out of his head but was cut off.
"Or make a few jetpacks real quick? Oh! We should befriend a unicorn!" Brooklynn says to him sarcastically. "Face it. It's hopeless."
"3… 2… 1…" Cass counted down to himself.
"We will be arriving at Main Street, your destination for fine dining and shopping at Jurassic World." Spoke the automated voice that the campers were used to.
"Is that…?" Brooklynn let the question hang as she and the others rushed over to a part of the stands to get a better view of what they thought they heard, and they thought correct.
"Followed by stops at the Jurassic World Lagoon and the South Ferry Dock." Said the voice.
"Monorail, what-what!" Kenji cheered as Cass smirked at his ability to time it.
"Mm, nicely played, Universe." Brooklynn said out loud.
"Hurry!" Darius called out to his fellow campers and they all began to sprint towards the exit of the stands.
With Yasmina and Cass being the fastest of the group, they were first followed by Kenji, Brooklynn, Sammy, and Darius then finally we have Ben and Bumpy in last. Cass and Yaz got up the stairs and out through the exit tunnel first, before immediately coming to a halt and running back into the tunnel, stopping the others from going past them. The two made sure the others knew to be quiet as they came up.
"What is it?" Darius whispered to the two.
Cass leaned against the wall and peeked around the corner to make sure he was seeing the correct dinosaur. And what do you know, he hasn't gone senile yet. After coming back around the corner and crouching next to the group, he lets them know.
"It's Toro." Cass says simply. "Also… a lot of dead bodies and blood. But I'm more worried about Toro."
Now they knew where everyone went, and the answer was "Not too far", well, the unlucky ones at least. They figured that they wouldn't be sending out evacuation warnings if everyone else was dead.
Cass looked out past the corner again and looked at the stairs that lead up to the monorail platform, with said monorail was coming to a stop. Toro, on the other hand, looked in the direction of the noise the monorail had made, before deciding that the barrel next to its feet is much more interesting. So the dinosaur grabbed hold of the barrel in its mouth and shook it around while turning the other way.
"So who's going first?" Cass asks as he returns to his crouched position and looks toward the campers. Said campers were kinda just looking at him, expecting him to go first. "I fucking hate you, kids." Cass said with a sigh as he quickly sprinted to the steps and crouched behind them. He turns around and notices that no one had followed him, he gave them a deadpan look of betrayal. At least Yasmina and Sammy were kind enough to mouth an apology toward him.
He waved his hand back and forth as a gesture for them to come to him. The campers just looked at each other as they realized that would have to move regardless. So Brooklynn, Sammy, and Yasmina all attempted to run to Cass, like I said, attempt. Because about halfway there, the girls heard Toro snarl and turn its head, making them scared and causing them to run back.
Toro turned around completely and dropped the barrel from its mouth as it thought it had smelled something, so the carno began making its way towards the tunnel that the campers were hiding in. Cass noticed this and backed up so that the dino wouldn't see him when it came this way, but he found an empty soda can laying next to the stairs.
'Perfect.' He thinks to himself as he grabs the can and throws it off into the distance, but still close enough that it'd grab Toro's attention. And boy, was he lucky, because the dino was mere feet from coming across the other campers.
The beast let out its aggressive snarls and growls as it heard the noise and went to check it out. Stomping its way near Cass's position. Said young adult didn't feel like being caught, so he crouch walked underneath the stairs, and came out the other side. He noticed that Toro was now far enough away and wasn't looking in their direction anymore.
Cass once again gestured for them to come to him and up the stairs, and of course, they figured this would be the best chance they got, so they ran as quietly as they could and got to the stairs. And once they all got there, they got on their hands and knees to climb the stairs so that it'd be harder to see them. Their order up the stairs was Kenji and Brooklynn first, Ben and Bumpy second, Darius and Yasmina third, and finally Sammy and Cass in fourth.
Toro had made its way back towards its original spot, roughly 20 feet from the stairs, and let out a growl. It had turned its head towards the stairs and sniffed the air, almost like it caught the scent of something and began walking forward. Cass noticed the beast coming at them and moved in front of Sammy and grabbed her, holding her against him as he leaned against the wall of the staircase so that the two wouldn't be seen as the carno investigated. Toro stood up straighter and allowed its head to peer over the top of the stairs, but luckily, Cass and Sammy were just out of the carno's field of view.
The dinosaur turned around and walked away, so Cass let go of Sammy and checked to see how far the dino went, satisfied with the distance between them, Cass ducked back down and gives Sammy a nod that they were in the clear, and they keep crawling up the stairs.
With Bumpy being the only quadrupedal of the group, was making her way up the stairs at a much faster rate than the campers, but she accidentally knocked into an empty coffee cup, making it rotate and bounce off the stairs. Brooklynn let out a quiet gasp as she juggled the cup around in an attempt to catch it, but managed to crush it beneath her arms instead. She and the other campers listened to see if Toro had heard the crunching sound, but it appears that they were in the clear.
And with that, the group made their way further up the stairs, with Bumpy, Kenji, and Brooklynn being the first ones up. The monorail had just begun to pull up to the platform when the three got there.
"Mon-!" Kenji was about to shout out but thankfully Brooklynn managed to clasp her hand over his mouth and shush him. Good thing too, because Toro was now standing at the bottom of the stairs but with its head turned.
The monorail finally came to a stop at the platform and the doors opened up. "Welcome to the Jurassic World Lagoon. Next stop, Ferry Landing!" The automated voice of the monorail called out, alerting Toro to the noise as it turned its head and let out a roar as it had spotted the campers.
"Run!" Darius calls out to the others, and they all follow his lead and start running up the stairs.
The carnotaurus began to chase them up the stairs. With Ben being the slowest, he was quickly put at the back, and Toro almost managed to take a bite out of him when he turned to look at the beast, but he manages to fall on his ass at just the right time to dodge it, as well as get up and start running again before the second bite could get him.
Toro once more let out a roar as it tried to climb up the stairs, but because its feet were too big, it started to slide and ultimately fall.
"Go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go!" Brooklynn called out as she and Kenji were already in the monorail, while Bumpy was on the platform waiting for Ben. Cass, Sammy, and Darius were the ones to make it up to the platform next. Sammy run into the monorail car but Darius and Cass stopped halfway as they felt a huge rumble through the concrete platform and heard Ben scream from behind them. The two boys gave each other a nod and turned back around to save the other two campers.
When they got back to the stairs, they saw Toro still chasing Yaz and Ben, with them already being over halfway up the stairs. But once again, the dinosaur fell onto the stairs, causing them to rumble, and making Ben and Yaz fall.
Ben was thankfully further up the stairs when he fell, Yasmina wasn't so lucky, because when she fell, she slid down a few steps and stopped right in front of Toro. She began crawling back up the stairs, letting out whimpers of fear as she turned around and looked at the angry carno before her as it snapped its jaws at her in its attempts to eat her.
"Please stand clear of the closing doors." The automated voice said. But thankfully Kenji put himself in between the closing doors so that they would neither close nor would the monorail take off without the others.
"I've got you, Ben!" Darius called out as he ran to the boy and helped him up. And they saw Cass run down to get Yasmina before they turned away to get up to the monorail.
"Will you just fuck off already!" Cass yelled out as he kicked the carno directly on the nose in order to stun the beast. And thankfully it worked because Toro reared its head back as it let out a roar of pain. With Cass not wanting to waste any time that he was given, he grabbed Yasmina and just pulled her onto and over his shoulder as he ran back up the stairs to get to the monorail.
Toro shook its head in order to clear away the feeling of pain in its nose as it began to climb up the stairs after them once more.
"Please stand- Please stand-" The automated voice kept repeating as it tried to close the doors on Kenji.
"Do not let those doors close!" Sammy called out as she and Brooklynn went over and began pulling on the doors in order to open them.
Darius and Ben made it up the stairs first with Cass and Yasmina arriving right after them. Toro lets out another roar as it tries to chase them once again, but fell, cracking and destroying some of the stairs as it let out a roar. But thankfully the teens wouldn't have to worry about the carno, because the dino fell through the stairs and landed on the ground with a heavy thud.
The three in the monorail finally got the doors to open, and right as Kenji tried to catch his breath, he was knocked to the ground as Darius, Ben, Cass, and Yasmina came rushing into the monorail car.
"Doors closing." The automated voice said as it closed the doors to the monorail and began moving. Toro roared out to the teens as they disappeared off into the distance.
Brooklynn, Kenji, and Sammy were all standing next to the glass as they looked back at the carnotaurus. After a few seconds, Kenji just shakes his head.
"No way. Something bad always happens when we think we're safe. Watch. The doors are gonna open." Kenji said as he gestured to the doors, but nothing happened. Sammy just scoffed at him and walked over to join the others. "Oh! Okay then, the train's gonna stop because that's how this works." He said to Brooklynn.
"I'm pretty sure we're safe now." The pink-haired girl said as she too walked off to join the others.
"Well, we were until you said that." Kenji retorted.

ROXIE AND DAVE
The two camp counselors had just arrived at the lagoon at the same time that the campers had left it. But of course, neither knew that.
"I'll check here, you check the stadium." Dave told Roxie as he left the vehicle with a flashlight in hand. With Roxie doing the same, just in the opposite direction.
"Kids?" Roxie yelled out. "Cass?"
"Darius? Brooklynn?" Dave yelled out as well.
"Anybody here?" Roxie called out.
Dave turned back towards Roxie's position and saw the kayaks in the water. So he rushed over and shined his flashlight onto the kayaks and found them empty. And seeing the Mosasauruses silhouette underneath as the water rippled didn't help him any.
"Oh, no." He said shakily.
"They made it out!" Roxie suddenly said from behind him as she had something in her hand. "These look both posh and tacky enough to be something Kenji would wear."
Dave took the item from her and looked at it, showing it to be the sunglasses that Kenji was wearing earlier in the day. He let out a sigh as some hope came back to him.
"They're okay. I know it." Roxie said to him reassuringly.
"Welcome to the Jurassic World Lagoon." The feminine automated voice said over the intercom. The two counselors looked over towards the monorail that was passing by them and noticed the very people they were looking for were on it.
"The kids? They're alive!" Dave said to himself. "Hey, guys!" He called out as he waved his arms and flashlight about, trying to get their attention.
"Hey!" Roxie yelled out as she did the same.
"Kids! Kids! Damn it." Dave said as he realized they were too far from them.
"Attention. All park-goers must report to the South Ferry Dock for immediate evacuation. Last ferry departs in 90 minutes." The male automated voice stated.
"They're headed to the docks!" Roxie exclaimed to him.
"Then it's time to ship out!" Dave shittily joked as he put on the half-broken sunglasses.
* roar *
Both Roxie and Dave gained scared faces as they turned to their right and saw Toro start walking through the small exit tunnel and into the stands.
"Or let's just go." Dave said quickly and quietly as the two ran away back to the truck.
Toro let out one more roar into the night.

BACK ON THE MONORAIL
"It's over." Darius says to himself as he lets out a sigh and looks over to his fellow campers that are all lounging about in the car. "Guys, we did it. We're going home." He says to the group.
They all look at each other and begin to smile at the thought of going back home. They all exchanged a few glances but otherwise stay silent. Well… except Sammy.
"Whoo-hoo!" Sammy shouted out as she stood up in her seat. Though it did cause Ben and Bumpy some fright, the other campers just smiled at her enthusiasm.
"Yeah! Whoo!" Darius followed her example with a laugh and jumped up into his seat.
Yasmina and Brooklynn jumped and shouted at the same time.
"Yeah!" Ben called out as he stayed seated.
"Finally!" Yasmina said as she walked over to the part of the cart that Cass was laying in.
"Alrighty!" Sammy yelled out as she and Brooklynn followed her.
"It's cool, man. We're good." Darius said as he put his hand on Kenji's shoulder. "We'll be at the main dock soon." He said as Kenji smiled at him.
"This calls for a celebration." Brooklynn called out as she sat in the chair behind Ben.
"I might be able to help with that." Ben said as he reached into his fanny pack and pulled out six food bars. "Stashed a few treats for the road." He said to them.
"Ooh, sweet!" Sammy called out.
"I'm starving!" Brooklynn said.
"Our little Ben is useful." Kenji stated.
Darius, Brooklynn, Sammy, Yasmina, and Kenji all took a bar from Ben, as he had the sixth one.
"You want some, Cass?" Sammy asked the bigger teen.
"Yeah, you've done a lot today." Yasmina added.
"I appreciate the thought, girls. But I think I'm just gonna lay here and rest for a moment." Cass said as he lay across two seats and closed his eyes. But he was too tall to comfortably lay down, so half of his body just kinda hung off.
Not even a few minutes later, the campers could be heard retching and spitting out the food that they were given.
"This is nasty." Sammy just outright admitted.
"Get it off! Get it off!" Kenji over-dramatically yelled out as he dusted his tongue off to try and get rid of the taste.
Darius and Brooklynn kinda just tossed theirs away.
"Ben, someone stole your candy bars and put dirt in 'em." Sammy told the boy.
"They're carob bars." Ben said as he got done feeding Bumpy some. "They pair perfectly with-"
"Carob juice." Darius said as he looked at the juice box that he was given. "Awesome." He said with no real meaning for the word.
"Carob is nature's chocolate. Just as delicious, with none of the sugar or caffeine." Ben said.
"So… not at all like chocolate?" Cass cut in from his seat.
"Pretty much." Yasmina responded to him.
"What's wrong with sugar and caffeine? The first thing I'm gonna do when I get home is hug my espresso machine. And I may never let go." Brooklynn said as she hugged her chair.
"You know…" Kenji clears his throat. "I've often described myself as a tall, hot drink." He said in all confidence.
Everyone else just groaned out at him.
"Hate to break it to ya, Kenji. But Cass already has that down to a T." Sammy said to him as she looked over in Cass's direction.
"Can't argue with you there." Yasmina said as she looked over to said young adult.
"Mhmm." Brooklynn hummed out in agreement as she looked at him from the corner of her eye.
"He is pretty good-looking, huh?" Darius added his two cents as he looked towards his co-captain in their group's adventure.
"His personality matches his looks perfectly too…" Ben mumbled to himself as he took a peek at the resting boy.
Said center of attention just let out a deep chuckle as he sat up and ran a hand through his long, thick hair before stretching. "Get fucked, Kenji." Cass jokingly told the rich teen.
Kenji could only look among the others as he tried to come up with something else to say, but had nothing. "Man, fuck you guys." He said and everyone looked towards him.
"Plus, you could never be coffee." Brooklynn told Kenji.
"I could be coffee." He said quietly with a scoff.
"I cannot wait to get home. First thing I'm doing is going back to training. And I guess finding a new corporate sponsor since mine was Jurassic World. But you know…" Yasmina told the group.
"It's gonna be weird for things to be normal again. Like, are video games gonna seem boring now?" Darius says with a chuckle. "How about you? What's the first thing you'll do when you get home?" He asks Kenji.
"Depends on which wing of our mansion you're talking about. East wing is usually off-limits, but Dad and Candy are away on business, so I guess I'll go downstairs to our bowling alley." Kenji let out a chuckle. "Staff always lets me win." He says somberly. "Life of a VIP."
Sammy looked at him with sadness before removing that look from her face and turning to the resident dino-dad. "So, what have you missed, Ben?"
"Oh. Let me guess, you can't wait to get home to your closet of dork pouches." Kenji joked with him. And it made Brooklynn and Sammy chuckle at it.
"Ha, ha. Very funny." He tried to say seriously but cracked up a bit at the end.
"Seriously, Ben, you've had juice boxes for days! How much stuff can you fit in that thing?" Darius asked him.
"One, lots, and two, obviously the first thing I'm gonna do when I get back is restock it." Ben said as he and the other campers shared a laugh.
Kenji got up and walked over to a supplies hatch and pulled out a flashlight. "Check it out." He said while imitating the sounds of a lightsaber powering up as he turned on the light. He knelt down and shined the light at Sammy, Ben, and Brooklynn before shining it on Yasmina, Darius, and Cass. Temporarily blinding those that were unlucky enough to get it shone in their eyes.
But he took the light off of his fellow campers as he stood up. "I found the first thing at Jurassic World that works!" Kenji exclaimed as he flipped the flashlight into the air and attempted to catch it, but he missed and dropped it to the ground which caused it to turn off. He awkwardly looked at the others as he picked up the flashlight and turned it back on. "Still works." Kenji said with a chuckle.
"I still can't believe how much went wrong." Brooklynn said with a chuckle. "Like that time we almost got eaten?"
"Which time?" Yasmina asked. "How was there more than one time?" She said in between little laughs.
Cass chuckled. "That's a fair question."
Darius reached down and grabbed his carob juice and held it up. "Let's all raise our carob juice. A toast!" He said as everyone who could mimicked him. "To not getting eaten!"
"To not getting eaten!" The other campers say as they all began to take a sip of the drink. With everyone besides Ben groaning and spitting it out. Ben on the other hand lets out a sigh of contentment.
Brooklynn shudders the taste away as she stands up and says her toast. "To no more running away!"
"To no more running away!" The others cheered out as they went in for another sip of carob juice. Ben was the only one to drink any of the second time. With Darius, Brooklynn, Kenji, and Yasmina to just not drink it. Sammy poured hers out in front of Bumpy so that she could drink it instead.
"To the return of a low-level gnawing dread rather than an all-encompassing impending doom!" Ben let out his toast, which may have been a bit long-winded, and used words that some of the campers didn't know.
"Why not!" Darius said as he raised his juice.
"To what Ben said!" Brooklynn said as she did the same.
"Bad doom versus normal doom!" Kenji stated following their movement.
"I've got one." Sammy said to the others.
* explosion *
Sammy let out a gasp at the noise as all the currently standing campers were jolted down into their seats.
"What was that?" Sammy asked in a worried voice.
"It sounded like an explosion." Yasmina said as she looked around waiting for any indication that she was correct.
"Ugh! Not again!" Brooklynn complained as she tried to see what was happening.
"I don't see anything." Kenji stated as he looked out the window.
"I don't think it was near us. We're okay. We're still okay." Darius reassured the other campers as he turned away from the window.
The campers just exchanged glances as they honestly didn't believe that they were okay. Still paranoid and worried that something may go wrong. They all just looked down, becoming upset due to the reality check the explosion gave them.
Sammy looked around and noticed the expressions on her fellow campers and tried to brighten the mood. "I know camp wasn't what we thought it was gonna be. But after everything we went through, at least we're leavin' this place with six new friends!" She said as the others turned to look at her. "To the seven of us being best friends for life!" Sammy announced as she stood up and raised her carob juice.
But all the other campers stayed seated and tried to ignore that last part, whether it be by looking away or distracting themselves with something.
"No added sugars, wow." Darius read to himself as he didn't want to look Sammy in the eyes.
Yasmina just stared at the girl with a blank look on her face, and Cass just closed his eyes and scratched his cheek with one finger.
"Guys?" Sammy called out to them. "Hello? Wait, do you guys not see us as friends?" She asks the others.
"I mean…" Brooklynn started with a sigh. "Doesn't it usually take more than a few days to become friends with someone?"
"We were thrown together at random. We have nothing in common." Yasmina told her.
"She's got a point." Cass said as he let out a sigh. "I mean if we were here for the full two weeks without anything going wrong? Sure, I could all see us being friends. But within just a few days and with everything that happened? We're more like close associates, that going for even me and Yaz." He wrapped up as he looked at said girl, who gave him a nod in agreement.
Kenji and Darius share a glance before they look away from each other.
"That's not true!" Sammy tried to argue with their logic. "We've been through more together than most friends have in a lifetime."
"And now that it's over, what are the odds that we'll ever see each other again?" Ben quietly said as he looked down into his lap.
And with that statement out in the open, everyone else sat down and kinda just kept to themselves. With Sammy still standing up as she looked down to her feet.
"Coming up on the right, you'll see our world-renowned 18-hole, dinosaur-themed golf course. It's one of the many wonders that makes this park so very Jurassic." Said the automated voice of the monorail.
Brooklynn chuckles. "What does that even mean?" She says out loud to herself.
"I thought I knew. My whole life, I had this idea of Jurassic World. My dad used to say this place was, "All-osaurus and a bag of chips". He was so corny." Darius sadly told them as he leaned against the window and watched everything go by.
"Um, was?" Ben asked. "So, your dad is…" He trailed off not wanting to finish that sentence.
The others gave him looks of sadness and sympathy as they noticed that he just got quieter and more visibly upset at the thought of his father.
"I'm sorry, Darius." Sammy said to him. "Ugh! "Sorry". Nice one, Sammy, ya dumbass!" She said to herself but everyone heard her. "Like "sorry" could begin to-"
"It's okay." Darius cut her off. Cass looked over at the younger boy because he knew exactly what it was like to lose someone you love, especially those that you're closer to than anyone.
"Hey, at least your dad never saw what a dumpster fire this place turned out to be, huh?" Kenji said to the younger boy but got punched in the arm by Yasmina. "Ow! What? I meant it's cool that Darius and his dad were so close. I could count on one hand the number of times me and my dad have done… anything." He explained to her.
"Kenji, that's just real sad." Sammy told him.
"Yeah." Kenji admitted in a lighter tone. "Did I mention I have a bowling alley?" He said to the girl who just smiled at him.
"Damn it! Come on, it's gotta be here somewhere. Oh!" Ben let out a scoff as he shook his fanny pack up and down trying to empty out its contents. "Bumpy stepped in something icky and I'm low on sanitizer. It's fine. I can make more." He complained as he poured some into his hand.
"Ben, why are you here?" Kenji asked.
"What he means is- Eh, well, you're scared of dinosaurs, and the outdoors, and sometimes the indoors, and germs." Darius listed off.
"Whipped cream for some reason?" Sammy stated.
"The way it moves." Ben said with a shudder.
"Yeah, that's what I'm talking about. What's the deal?" Kenji asked the younger boy.
"My mom works for Mr. Masrani. She got me into camp. Said it would be a great way for me to "face my fears". It's been a nightmare!" Ben admitted to the group. "I'm sick of being scared all the time. And of running, and of almost getting eaten, and… and of holding everyone back. I just can't do… this." Ben said as he gestured to everything.
Bumpy came up to the boy and rested her head on the boy's legs as she let out a small groan. "But it's not all bad. If I hadn't come, I- I never would have met-"
* crashing *
The teen was cut short as the monorail that they were in was violently shaken. Causing everyone to grab onto something in order to stabilize themselves as they let out gasps.

Darius got up and ran towards the rear end of the monorail, with Cass not bothering to waste time, he immediately followed after him. The two soon arrived at the rear window looking out behind them, and the other campers joined them in the caboose of the monorail.

The younger campers let screams of shock as they were jolted once again. Darius walked forward and pressed his face up against the glass as he looked out into the night sky.
"Guys, we gotta turn off the lights!" Darius yelled at them as he rushed over to Kenji and took his flashlight from him, he then stood up in a chair and began beating the flashlight against the overhead lamp until it went out.
Cass didn't bother grabbing a flashlight as he went over to a second light and began punching it, and after a few strikes it went out. He just wished he brought his rings with him, then again, he didn't expect to find himself in this position either.
And as soon as the second light went out, the others finally saw what the reason for turning off the lights was. It was a swarm of pteranodons, screeching and flapping their way towards the monorail.
"Flying reptiles are basically seabirds." Darius said as he stood up in a different seat and began beating on another light. "They're attracted to shiny, moving objects, and with all these lights on-"
"We're a shiny, moving object!" Sammy yelled out to the group.
One of the dinosaurs slammed into the back window and let out a screech as it cracked the glass, which caused the younger campers to let out screams of fright and run over to grab flashlights in order to help Darius and Cass take them out. Kenji grabbed one, then Sammy, then Yasmina, and finally Brooklynn grabbed the last one. Which left Ben with nothing.
"What should I do?" Ben asked them as he leaned up against the wall next to the door.
"Just keep out of the way!" Brooklynn yells as she and the others start breaking the lights. And after a few seconds, the car that they were in began to get darker and darker as more lights were destroyed.

Three different pteranodons slammed into the roof of the car they were in as the swarm started to catch up to them. The third one flew down to the right side of the car and slammed into the glass a couple of times, cracking the glass right next to Sammy and startling the girl. But the dinosaur wasn't paying attention and slammed into a tree.
After a few more seconds of the group beating on the lights, they were finally all out in their current monorail car, leaving them in the darkness. Ben and Bumpy were in the corner cowering, as the boy let out whimpers.
Darius forcefully slid the door to the next car open. "Brooklynn, you're with Yaz. Sammy, help Ben and Bumpy across! Cass, Kenji, you're with me!" Darius shouted out his orders and no one bothered to argue with him as he slid open the second door and ran in so that he could take out more lights.
Cass, Kenji, Yasmina, and Brooklynn all followed after him. With Sammy staying behind as she practically tossed Ben into the next car and shoved Bumpy in after him. They quickly cleared out this car's lights as they rushed over to the next one. Kenji slid open the doors for the others as they ran past him.
"Smile! You're at Jurassic World. We hope you're having…" The automated message was interrupted as Kenji slammed his flashlight into it. "a Jurassic time." It finished in a distorted tone.
Kenji rushed into the room and saw that Cass, Yasmina, Brooklynn, and Darius were already in their positions to start breaking the overhead lights. Ben rushes into the room but somehow trips and falls, he lets out a yelp as he moves out of the way and into a corner. Sammy pushes Bumpy into the new car but is thrown into the side of the doorway as the monorail is jolted on the tracks.
Sammy lets out a gasp as she points out into the distance. Darius gets down from his seat and looks through the window towards where she's pointing, and noticed a crashed monorail up ahead at a split in the tracks. The crashed monorail wasn't sitting on the tracks properly as it was turned sideways, with a bit of the front hanging over into the left track.
"At least now we know what that boom was earlier." Sammy said as she too was looking through the window.
"I told you-" Kenji started.
"Don't." Was all Brooklynn said as she ran past him.
"If we don't switch tracks or stop this car right now, we're gonna hit that thing, full speed!" Darius told the group.
Cass had just finished taking out the last light inside their current monorail car. "I've had enough violent crashes in my life. So if it's all the same to you guys, I'd figure out a way to avoid that!" Cass yelled out to the group.
"The front car, there are control panels there! VIP Tour, I was eight, they let me drive." Kenji exclaimed quickly to them.
Darius attempted to pull the door open, but it wouldn't budge. "No, no, no!" Soon all the other campers came to help him open the door except Cass and Ben. With Cass standing a few feet away from them and Ben still in the corner whimpering to himself in the fetal position.
Darius was beating on the glass with his flashlight but was stopped by Cass's voice.
"It's no use trying to brute force this door with your strength, nor a flashlight. These monorails are automated. It doesn't need anyone inside to drive the damn thing. So the only way in is with the appropriate key-card or through the emergency hatch." Cass told the group.
"Emergency hatch?" Darius said to himself as he looked inside the front car and found the hatch that Cass was talking about. "I'm gonna get to the control car through there." Darius said as he ran to the rear end of the current card and stood on a chair.
"You're gonna what?" Sammy asked him due to the ludicrous nature of the idea.
"You can't go out there! That's where the flying whatevers are!" Kenji exclaimed as he stuttered over some of his words.
"We don't have a choice!. Me and-" Darius started as he looked over to the cowering form of Ben, who looked back up to him. "I'm the only one who can fit." Darius said as he was about to open the hatch but a pteranodon slammed into the side of the car and shook everything. Darius, Kenji, Brooklynn, Sammy, and Yasmina all fell to the ground due to the sudden shake of the monorail. Cass was jolted back but managed to readjust his footing to catch himself. And Ben was still on the ground, so he wasn't very affected by the shaking all that much.
Bumpy waddled over to Ben and let out one of her signature groans as she rubbed up against his legs. Ben started petting the little ankylosaur as he looked up at the emergency hatch and back down to the dino in his hands. "You're gonna be okay." He said, but whether it was to the dinosaur or himself, no one will ever know.
"Distract the flock while I crawl over the top to the control car. Use the flashlights, keep them away from-" Darius started to explain to the others but was interrupted by the sound of the hatch opening and seeing Ben's legs going up through it.
The younger campers all let out gasps as Darius ran forward and called Ben's name.
"Alright, same plan, but Ben is our runner apparently. Just make sure those pteranodons don't get to him." Cass told them. "Take the flashlights and run to the opposite end of the monorail, get them as far away as you can. I'll be here for when Ben gets into the control car."
"You heard the man, let's go!" Darius yelled out as he and the others turned on their flashlights and began waving them around as they ran through the cars. And it seemed to be working as a large majority of the pteranodons seemed to leave the front car alone and headed towards the car with all the moving lights.
"I can do this! I can do this!" Ben kept shouting to himself as he crawled over to the emergency hatch and got it open before trying to get down, which ultimately ended with him falling on his ass. He got up and looked over all the controls that lay before him and only one thought came to Ben's fear-rattled brain. 'I have no idea what the fuck I'm supposed to be looking for!'
Kenji was backing up towards a window and a pteranodon slammed into the glass behind him, scaring the shit out of him.
Ben began pressing any button he could and turning any nob that was available, yet nothing seemed to happen. They were only 100 feet from the wreck and quickly closing the distance. All the teens in the back looked towards the front in hopes of seeing what would happen.
"Come on, Ben. You've got this." Cass whispered to himself as he looked through the small window in the door and towards the wreck that was rapidly approaching.
A pteranodon slammed into the windshield of the monorail, causing Ben to let out a shriek of fear, just before pulling a lever that was off to the right of the console. Which changed the tracks just in time, because they had just arrived at the split and turned left, making contact with the crashed monorail to their right and began grinding against it. All the passengers inside had to hold onto something or else they be thrown about inside due to the contact.
The crashed monorail on the other hand was pushed off of its track and down into the jungle, when it promptly blew up as it hit the ground. The campers could only look at the blazing ball of flames in shock. But after a few moments, they let out their cheers of celebration as they rushed back towards the front. Ben opened up the door and stood before his fellow campers.
"Ben, Ben, Ben, Ben, Ben, Ben!" The younger campers chanted his name as Cass just gave him a smirk and a nod of approval. Bumpy walked over to him and gave him a hug of sorts while wagging her tail.
"You saved us, Ben. I didn't know you had it in you." Darius told the older boy.
And just as he was about to step towards him…
* glass shatters *
A pteranodon breaks through the side of the monorail and grabs Ben, trying to fly off with him.
"Ben!" Darius calls out to him as he just barely manages to grab onto his arm, stopping him from being taken away. Ben was screaming as he was being tugged about in the air. But Darius strained himself and put more strength into holding onto Ben, finally, the dinosaur figured it wasn't gonna get the boy in this attempt, so it let him go. Which caused Ben to pull Darius down to the floor of the monorail as they held onto each other with one arm.
Cass was ready to help the boys but something caught his attention.

Two more pteranodons landed in the car behind them, thinking that they'd be able to grab themselves some food. Cass had to leave being able to save Ben up to Darius and the others as he went to make sure the other dinosaurs don't get a chance of grabbing anyone else.
"Oh, no!" Darius yelled out as Ben was grunting and screaming.
"Help!" Ben called out to him as he was losing grip on the younger boy's arm.
"Hang on!" Darius shouted out.
"Darius! Darius! Darius! No!" Ben screamed as he swung his free arm forward in an attempt to be able to grab something.
Their grip began to slip until they were hanging onto each other by nothing but their fingers.

Alrighty, that's it for chapter seven. The next chapter will be the last of season one, then after that, we'll move on to the events of season two. For some reason though, this chapter felt a lot longer to write than it was? Probably because of all the damn dialogue.
