"The Witch's Ghost and the Hex Girls"

Sorry for the long wait. A lot of things have been happening lately, but I won't get into it. Anyway, here is the next chapter. Please enjoy and review!

Using her enhanced eye sight, Davey tracked down Scooby and Shaggy through the dark streets of Oak Haven.

The duo had ran very fast and put quite a bit of difference between them and the three "witches" who had spooked them.

When the duo of Miracles found their friends, they were stunned to find them back to their normal skinny selves and were panting very hard at the sprint they had.

"How the heck did they work off all that weight so fast?" Veemon exclaimed in shock.

"I'm starting to think they're not human." Davey muttered.

"Ironic coming from the dragon and the werecat." Veemon grumbled under his breath.

Ignoring her partner, Davey approached Shaggy and Scooby who seemed to have calmed down enough to talk.

"Guys, are you okay?" Davey asked.

"Like, I think so." Shaggy panted.

"Reah." Scooby nodded still looking spooked.

"I thought there was only one ghost witch." Shaggy said.

"There is! Those three girls we saw were just wearing costumes." Veemon stated.

"Rostumes?" Scooby questioned.

"They're the Hex Girls. You know? The band that's performing at the autumn fest? That's who those girls are. They're actually pretty nice." Davey assured.

"Like, really?" Shaggy asked as he seemed to relax a bit more.

"Have I ever lied to you?" Davey placed her hands on her hips and raised an eyebrow at him.

With those words, the cowardly duo gave sighs of relief and smiled.

"I guess we overreacted." Shaggy chuckled making Scooby giggle as well.

"Well, I can't blame you. It is pretty dark and creepy with no one around." Veemon said as he glanced around at the empty streets.

A cool breeze blew by making the four friends shiver.

"Anyway, with all that running, we worked off all that big meal." Shaggy said as he noticed his flat stomach.

No wonder he felt so cold.

He and Scooby worked off all that weight and now they didn't have any fat to keep themselves warm from the chilly night air.

"Oh, please don't tell me you're hungry again." Davey groaned.

Shaggy gave a guilty smile at the werecat who shook her head in disbelief.

"Me, too!" Scooby grinned.

"You guys are ridiculous!" Davey complained making Veemon chuckle.

Just then, the wind picked up, making the branches up in the trees blow back while Davey and Shaggy's hair blew around their heads.

Confused, the group looked up when they suddenly heard a cackling laughter and they found a woman rise up into the sky in front of the full moon.

The woman had pale white skin, long cracked nails, bright red eyes, stringy grey hair and a long hooked nose.

She was wearing a green dress with a matching witch's hat, both pieces of clothing appearing to be quite old due to the faded areas and tears in them.

Shaggy and Scooby screamed in horror at the sight of the witch and they jumped behind the shocked Davey and Veemon, cowering behind them.

"What in the name of Azulongmon is that?!" Veemon gasped as he pointed at the witch.

"This town shall pay for what it did to me!" The witch declared.

She then began to fly right at the friends, throwing fireballs at them much to their shock.

Veemon jumped onto Scooby's back as the dog ran off while Shaggy grabbed Davey's hand, running off with the girl close behind him.

"How is she even flying? Even a Witchmon needs a broom!" Veemon cried.

"Like, who cares?!" Shaggy yelled.

The witch continued to throw fireballs at the group, making them cry out as they were almost hit quite a few times.

Scooby kept trying to push Shaggy behind him while the hippy yanked the dog's tail to shove him out of the way.

"Like, it's every coward for himself, old buddy!" Shaggy said.

Picking up more speed, the group turned around the corner of the building and ended up bumping into the group of people who were walking on the other side.

Ben was staring down at Davey, Shaggy, Veemon, Scooby, Velma, Fred and Daphne at surprise since the cowardly duo and duo of Miracles had crashed into the other three sleuths.

"What's going on, guys?" Velma asked.

"Rhost!" Scooby croaked.

"A roast?" Ben repeated in confusion.

The raven haired man then picked up the large dog, getting him off of Velma to allow her to stand up.

"The ritch's rhost." Scooby said.

"You saw the witch's ghost?" Velma asked once she put together what the Great Dane told them.

"Reah!" Scooby confirmed.

He then pulled on his nose and ears, making them both look very pointed like a witch's hat and nose before he began to cackle and groan, imitating the creature that attacked them.

Making sure her ears and tail were no longer in sight, Davey stood up from the pile up and scooped Veemon up into her arms.

"Can you show us where?" Fred asked as Shaggy stood up, shaking in fear.

"Like, do we have to? She throws fireballs, man!" Shaggy grabbed Fred's jacket and shook him, trying to emphasize his point.

"The crazy witch almost roasted us!" Davey stated.

"And she was flying! Without a broom or wings! How'd she do that?" Veemon questioned.

"Flamedramon seems to fly pretty fine without wings." Davey stated.

"That's not flying, that's hovering. I can only do it when I jump high enough in the air. Gravity does eventually drag me down." Veemon said.

A groan from below caught everyone's attention and they turned to find Fred was sitting on Daphne's back, the redhead looking very annoyed.

"Can we continue this discussion after SOMEONE gets off me?" Daphne huffed.

Fred was quick to scramble off of the redhead while Shaggy backed away.

"Gee, uh, sorry, Daph." Fred said as he helped her stand up.

He gave an apologetic smile as Daphne glared, brushing dirt off of her purple jacket.

Shaggy crept over to the building that he, Davey, Scooby and Veemon had ran around, looking terrified.

"Like, down this street." Shaggy poked his arm around the building, shaking.

One by one, everyone poked their heads around the building, checking for the witch, but she was gone and the street was very quiet, empty and dark.

Where had the witch gone and how did she disappear so fast without anyone noticing her?

"There's no one here now." Daphne stated.

"We thought we'd gotten away from the first three witches when this ghost chased us from down there." Shaggy explained.

"First three witches?" Ben questioned.

"Oh, they weren't really witches. They were actually three Goth girls who scared the guys." Davey explained making Ben nod in understanding.

Spotting something on the ground, Velma bent down and inspected what appeared to be some sort of residue.

"Hmm, you said she threw fireballs, right?" Velma asked.

That question made Veemon freeze as he remembered the Impmon he had met earlier that night.

Impmon's main attack was throwing fireballs and they were nasty tricksters, playing all sorts of pranks, even hurtful ones.

Seeing a familiar t-shirt hanging in a store window, Shaggy turned towards it.

"It was like this, Velma, but a thousand times worst." Shaggy said as he pointed at the shirt.

It was the same shirt of the witch that Mr. McKnight had been handing out earlier that day.

"Is this the street she chased you down?" Fred asked as he stepped down the street.

"Like, don't remind us." Shaggy whined.

Everyone walked down the street, searching for any clues.

There were branches lining the sides of the street which struck them as odd.

Bending down, Fred picked one up and then glanced up at the trees, noticing how that had been broken off.

"Hey, check out these branches. They were all broken from the tops of these trees." Fred said.

"And in a perfectly straight line." Daphne said as she saw the trees with red leaves were all cut straight across.

It was almost like someone had taken a chainsaw and smoothly cut the branches.

"This is getting interesting, Ben." Velma said as he fixed her glasses.

A strange noise caught their attention as they saw turned to look towards the trees and saw colourful lights flashing.

"R-Raggy!" Scooby stuttered fearfully.

"Like, not again!" Shaggy cried as Scooby jumped into his arms.

"What is that?" Daphne asked.

"Let's go see." Velma took out a flashlight and turned it on.

The cowardly duo shared a look and gulped before the group all took off towards the lights and sounds,

They made their way through a park filled with trees and heard the noise getting louder and Davey began to recognize it.

"Hey, this kinda sounds like the noises Matt's band makes when they're hooking up their instruments and getting ready to perform." Davey spoke up.

"Now that you mention it, Davey, it does sound like a guitar is playing." Fred commented.

Arriving at the end of the light show, Scooby and Shaggy shared a look before they moved the tall bushes out of the way, revealing a stage that had colourful smoke drifting around.

Standing on the stage were the three women from earlier that night who each had an instrument, preparing to perform.

"Hit it, sisters!" Thorn called.

She then turned around, a smile on her face, revealing her fangs as she hissed.

Standing behind the band was Impmon who was tossing fireballs into the air, creating a lightshow to enhance the performance.

"Zoinks! It's the witches!" Shaggy cried out as he and Scooby shook in fear.

"Easy guys, it's just the Hex Girls." Fred smiled as he stepped out of the bushes.

The Hex Girls began performing their song "I'm A Hex Girl" and seemed to be ignoring the fact that they now had an audience who were watching them and dancing.

"I'm gonna cast a spell on you" Thorn sang as she pointed out at the crowd.

Scooby pointed at himself in surprise.

"You're gonna do what I want you to

Mix it up here in my little bowl" Thorn sang and moved her guitar around in the smoke, making it look like she was mixing ingredients in a cauldron.

"Say a few words and you'll lose control

I'm a Hex Girl and I gonna put a spell on you" Thorn sang the first line herself, then Dusk and Luna joined in.

"I'm gonna cast a spell on you" Luna and Dusk sang.

"I'm a Hex Girl and I'm gonna put a spell on you

Put a spell on you!"

Dusk performed a small drum solo while Impmon tossed a fireball in the air, making more smoke that swept across the stage.

It was an interesting way for him to use his powers to help his DigiDestined.

"You feel the fog as I cloud your mind

You'll get dizzy when I make a sign

You'll wake up in the dead of night

Missing me when I'm out of sight"

The girls sang the chorus once again as their small audience danced, enjoying the show they had stumbled upon.

Even Shaggy and Scooby had gotten over their fear and were dancing crazy like they were at a party that their town usually threw.

Thorn stopped playing her guitar and held her hand out and wiggled her fingers with her other hand over her palm, making it look like she was sprinkling something into a potion.

She also had a seductive expression on her face as she sang and stared out into the crowd.

It seemed like Fred was being bewitched by the beautiful young woman which Daphne took notice of.

"With this little cob web potion

You'll fall into dark devotion" Thorn sang as she pointed into the crowd and then waved her arms across her face, her dark green eyes being enhanced by the red of her nail polish when her hands moved by her face.

Daphne was not amused by the way how Fred was staring at Thorn and elbowed him into the side.

What no one, except Veemon, seemed to notice was that Thorn's eyes seemed to be drawn to Davey who was sensually dancing to the beat of the music.

It seemed like the raspberry haired werecat had bewitched the lead singer of the Hex Girls.

"If you ever lose affection

I can change your whole direction

I'm a Hex Girl and I'm gonna put a spell on you

I'm gonna put a spell on you

I'm a Hex Girl and I'm gonna put a spell on yoooou

We're gonna put a spell on-on YOU!"

To finish off their performance, the three girls threw down smoke bombs, creating clouds of red, blue and purple that drifted around.

To be continued…
