Well, as you can all tell, I'm back and will be writing season 2 for the fanfiction. I apologize for the wait, but these last few days have been kinda busy and I needed a bit of a break so I could get my energy back for writing. But now that I'm back, you can expect me to be working again and putting out more content for you all to read and enjoy.

EDIT: Alright, as I was writing this one, I realized that it's not going as fast as I'd like. So I probably won't be able to keep the schedule of every three days. I'll probably have to change it to once a week? I don't know, I'll try to get them out to you guys faster, but that might be when they come out now.

An ankylosaur is seen roaming through the jungle letting out its passive bellows as it wonders the island on its own. Until it finds a flipped-over Jurassic World jeep in a small clearing and uses it to scratch its side.

A group of Compies could be seen playing around inside a broken and muddied gyrosphere that's been discarded into the jungle. Letting out their chitters and screeches as they hop around on the seats.

There's an abandoned monorail platform with a monorail car loosely hanging off the edge. A brachiosaurus lets out a bellow and slowly stomps its way toward it but is stopped by a group of pteranodons who screech at the much larger dino in an attempt to scare it away.

Down in the underground tunnel network, which is now completely pitch black since all the lights are now off, a lone Velociraptor runs along the halls until it stops under the open hatch of this tunnel. The hatch allows the light of day to shine into the darkness. The Velociraptor looks up through the hole before letting out a shriek and a purr before continuing to run through the dark halls.

A group of both sinoceratops and ankylosaurus could be found grazing in and around a broken enclosure while also letting out their respective calls as a way to greet each other. The enclosure is Toro's to be specific, but since the angry carnotaurus is no longer in the area, it is relatively safe for the herbivores to be there.

Two stegosauruses could be seen walking through the destroyed remains of what was once the tree house of Camp Cretaceous. Not doing anything other than presumably passing through.

"Run, run, run!" Darius yelled out to the other campers as he let out a pant of exhaustion and sprinted through the jungle.
"Run!" Brooklynn echoed his word as she, Yasmina, Sammy, Cass, and Kenji all followed after the younger teen. "Is the Parasaurolophus still there?" She asked the two behind her, which just so happen to be Cass and Kenji.
The two eldest among the group turned their heads to look back and they saw the Parasaurolophus following right behind them, but not for long because a T. rex suddenly emerged from their left and tried to take a bite out of the smaller herbivore, but missed. That in turn caused the parasaur to run away with the T. rex chasing after it.
"Uh… well you see…" Cass dragged out as he kept running forward but sped up his pace.
"Aah! Not anymore!" Kenji exclaimed as he too sped up to keep pace with the others in the group.
"Over there! Cover!" Darius yelled out as he pointed to a fallen tree that was roughly 20 feet away from him and the others. And so the campers all took off in the direction of the newly discovered cover and just in time too, because the Parasaurolophus ran toward where the group was previously standing, and with it came the T. rex, and said large carnivore let out a roar as it tried to take another bite out of the much smaller herbivore.
Once they had gotten to the tree, Darius slid and crawled through a small opening at the bottom of the tree. Cass stood behind and helped the others up and over the tree. Starting with Brooklynn, he could quite easily just throw her over it but decided he didn't need to scare the much smaller girl, so he grabbed her by the waist and lifted her onto the tree so she could climb over it herself.
Next was Sammy, and Cass essentially did the same thing with her as he did with Brooklynn, but since Sammy had a bit more weight to her than the other girls, Cass couldn't just easily toss her up, especially in the heat of the moment, so he reached down and wrapped his arms around the girl's thighs and lifted her so that she could get a better grip on the tree and climb over.
The third one up was Yasmina, Cass knew that the athletic girl wouldn't need as much help getting up and over the fallen tree so he interlocked his fingers and made a step with his hands. Yaz saw this and gave him a thankful nod before putting her right foot in his hands and letting him boost her up onto the tree.
And now the last one for him to help was Kenji, and Cass helped him up almost the same as he did Yasmina. With another cup of his hands, the oldest camper helped Kenji up onto the tree. Now it was his turn to get up there, he bent his knees to charge up a jump and sprung forth and grabbed onto the tree, and began to pull himself up. Yasmina and Kenji hadn't gotten off yet as they stayed behind and helped Cass over it while joining the others.
* roar *
* boom *
The six teens all hid behind the giant log as the T. rex let out its roar and presumably slammed its prey into the ground. Everyone was sitting down with their knees drawn to their chest, but with Cass being as big as he was, he had his legs a bit more stretched out than the others. Yasmina and Sammy closed their eyes and held onto Cass's arms as a way of comforting themselves. The oldest of the group had his eyes open but slightly squinted them because the dinosaur's roar was a bit too loud for his liking. Darius had his eyes closed as he tucked his head down. Brooklynn had her eyes closed as well as her ears covered in an attempt to block out what was happening behind them. And Kenji had his eyes wide open as he backed up closer against their cover, because he was scared, even if he wouldn't tell anyone that.
* T. rex crunching *
The younger campers let out whimpers at the tell-tale sign of the T. rex biting down on the parasaur as well as its receding footsteps. Darius and Cass looked over at each other and the older boy gave him a nod as well as a gesture to check out what was happening. Darius gave him a nod in return before standing up and peeking around the fallen tree, and that's when he noticed the large carnivore dragging its prey away from them and deeper into the jungle.
"They're gone." Darius told them as he sat back down onto the jungle floor.
The other five let out sighs of relief as they all relax a bit at the news. With Yasmina and Sammy letting go of Cass's arms but opting to lean against him instead, Brooklynn flopped down onto the ground with Kenji doing the same.
"Why are there so many dinosaurs around?" Kenji complained.
"Well it's either your boyish charm or all the fences on the island are down." Brooklynn sarcastically responded to him.
"No offense, but it's definitely option two." Sammy told Kenji, and Cass could only chuckle at the girl's response.
"I don't even care. Right now, I just want a sandwich." Yasmina complained. "We haven't eaten since we had those awful carob bars that Ben…" She suddenly stopped talking at the mention of Ben's name. "I-I…" Yaz stuttered out but didn't continue.
Everyone just glanced at each other in silence as they all got upset at the thought of the dead boy. With some of them looking down into their laps. Darius took it a bit harder than the others as he wrapped his arms around his legs and closed his eyes.
Yasmina looked at the younger boy and was about to utter an apology, but Cass grabbed her shoulder and just shook his head no.
* distant roar *
The young campers let out their gasps of fear. And they all suddenly let out groans of complaint. Slowly all of the members of the group stood up and stretched, preparing themselves for another long sprint through the dangerous jungle.
"We just need to eat and rest. I can't keep running like this." Sammy stood up and told the others.
"Um… okay, uh… Cass! Is there any sort of shelter or part of the park that's near us?" Darius turned and asked him. Knowing that the older teen usually had an idea of where they were.
"Mhm." The eldest said as he closed his eyes as he popped his back. He let out a sigh of relief as the cracks and pops were let out. "What we're looking for should be that way." Cass told him as he pointed in front of them but a bit to the right before reaching down and shouldering his sledgehammer.
Darius gave the group's walking GPS a nod before walking off in that direction to find out if he could see anything from here, and he could. He could see the top half of a pyramid-like structure that was the Innovation Center.
"Main Street!" Darius called out and alerted the other campers at the find. "There's bound to be a way to call for help there, and food and everything else we might need." He began running forward. "Come on!"
And with that, the others slightly smiled at the youngest teen's enthusiasm before deciding that it'd be best to follow after him as he asked. So they all ran toward Main Street, with Darius leading them and they followed in order of Kenji, Brooklynn, Yasmina, Sammy, then Cass.

MAIN STREET
Actually being on Main Street was a whole other thing than seeing it from far away. Because now that they're here on the ground and on the main road that goes straight down the middle, they can truly see the carnage that the dinosaurs let loose upon being freed here. The outside tables, chairs, and umbrellas were either knocked over or shoved out of the way. Hell, even some of the buildings were half-destroyed with massive chunks being turned into nothing but rubble. Items and décor were strung about all over the streets and structures.
And of course… the blood. Blood and bodies were strung about and splattered across the pavement and in other similar places and fashions. Whether it be a good thing or a bad thing, the campers have somewhat gotten the ability to handle seeing the gruesome scenes of death like these on the island, though… it still made the younger campers feel sick to their stomachs when around them. But it appears that there is currently way more blood than there were bodies.
"What happened here?" Kenji asked as he and the others walked down Main Street and looked at their surroundings.
"My guess? This is where most of the people were when everything went to hell, so I'm gonna assume that they all tried to run away and get to some form of safety, which is probably why everything looks like shit. Though it looks like some weren't so lucky to get on those boats." Cass said nonchalantly as he walked with his hammer over his right shoulder and his left hand in his pocket.
"I was just gonna say "dinosaurs"." Yasmina told them her more simple response as they all arrived at one of the destroyed buildings.
"No, no. It's more than that." Darius says as he looks around at the buildings. "Some kind of fight took place. From the height, it looks like maybe the T. rex and… something bigger?" Darius asked as he tried to rack his brain for dinosaurs bigger than a T. rex.
"The Indominus rex." Brooklynn suddenly spoke up as she stood in the massive opening that led to the Jurassic World Lagoon and looked into it. "I don't think we have to worry about it anymore, or what's left of it."
"Ugh! Or the Mosasaurus being hungry for a while." Darius says as he joins her and looks into the water.
"Guys!" Sammy suddenly shouted out from behind the two which caused them to yelp in fear. "You have to see this!" Sammy says as she grabs Darius's shoulders.
Sammy practically dragged Darius and Brooklynn to where the others were standing and looking at something and once they were all there, they all collectively stared at Brooklynn… well, a cardboard cutout of Brooklynn holding a product that she was helping sell. Suddenly they all burst into laughter at the sight of it.
"Wow, I totally forgot I agreed to that." Brooklynn said through her laughter while Sammy walked closer to it to get a better look.
"Do you only own one outfit?" Darius jokingly asked the group's resident superstar.
"What? It's my signature look!" She responded to him.
Kenji ran forward and grabbed a box before rushing toward the girl and kneeling before her. "Please, autograph my phone charger, O Queen of the Brooklanders!" Kenji out before laughing so hard that he guffaws. Brooklynn, Yasmina, Darius, and Cass could only shake their heads and smirk at his stupidity.
"Well, I think it's cool. When we get rescued, I'm taking it with us." Sammy said as she wrapped an arm around the cardboard cutout's shoulder.
"TBH, this does kind of remind me of home. I haven't posted in days. I bet my followers are worried sick about me." Brooklynn told the group.
Sammy walked back over to them whilst shoving Kenji's head to the side. "And your parents?" She asked Brooklynn.
"Oh, uh, right. Obvi. Them, too." The superstar said.
"Okay, let's start, uh, looking for a way to communicate with the mainland." Darius said to them as he stepped up into the building before them. "There's gotta be a phone or something, right?"
The others followed him into the building with it being Yasmina, Sammy, and Kenji going in after him. Brooklynn walked forward and stopped in front of her cardboard cutout and smiled lightly at it.
"I get that you're pretty and everything but there's no need to be giving yourself a loving stare." Cass said teasingly from behind her as he looked down at the smaller girl with a playfully smirk on his lips.
"I- What- No… You hush." Brooklynn stuttered out a response as she smacked his arm in a joking manner.
Cass just chuckles both to himself and at her reaction. "I'm fucking with you, Bubblegum. Now come help us look for a phone or some shit." He said as he gently ruffled her hair.
"What did you call me?" Brooklynn asked him with a slight hint of mock irritation but all she got was another chuckle from the bigger boy. She huffed out a sigh and took one last fond look at the cardboard cutout before going to help him and the others.
Everyone spread themselves out and began looking through different parts of the store. Looking through shelves and containers, and moving some knocked-over things when need be.
"Ooh, lost-and-found!" Darius let out as he went behind the counter and searched through the large plastic box. "Sunglasses, hat, sunglasses, sunglasses…" He listen off as he pulled stuff out. Darius let out a gasp as he reached into the bottom of the box. "Sunglasses. Really? No one lost their cell phone?" He complained to the others.
"Well, whatever phones are here aren't working." Yasmina said to the younger boy as she hung up a phone that she tried using. "The power's out. There's not even walkie-talkies."
'I already told you all this, but sure, let's keep trying.' Cass thought to himself as he shook his head and moved some boxes.
"Oh, yeah? Then what do you call these bad boys?" Kenji confidently said as he leaned on the counter and presented a children's toy walkie-talkie that looked like a dinosaur to her.
Yasmina clicked the button to test it and it made a very child-friendly roar from its speaker. "Definitely not "bad boys"." She said to him with a shake of her head.
"Hey, at least they work." Kenji snapped back. "They even have a robot mode." He said as he used the walkie-talkie to change his voice into a robot voice as he walked away from her.
"Oh!" Sammy let out a gasp of excitement.
"You found something?" Darius asked as he popped up from behind the counter and looked over at the girl.
"An Insider's Guide to Jurassic World!" Sammy read out the title of the book that she was holding. "It's got all kinds of details about the park." She said as she walked over to the counter that Darius and Yasmina were standing at. "Did you know there are hidden dinos carved into the buildings? Or that aircraft aren't allowed to fly over the island?" Darius and Yasmina gave the girl a questioning look. "Sorry, that last one's a bummer." Sammy said as she walked away with the book in hand.
"Hey!" Brooklynn suddenly shouted out.
"Is it a phone?" Darius asked her.
"It's a camera! And it works!" She says as she turns it on with a beep. "Now I can document all the crazy stuff we've seen! Our rescue will be a Brooklynn Exclusive! That'll get my follower count back up to where it belongs." Brooklynn announced to them.
"And that will help us how exactly?" Yaz asked her with a raised eyebrow.
"Uh, because when we get home, this will also make you famous?" Brooklynn shyly explained as she pointed the camera towards her and the other two that were near the counter.
"Yeah… I'd rather not be famous for… anything if I'm being honest. I like my privacy." Cass said as he leaned against the wall with his arms crossed.
"Hey!" Kenji randomly called out.
"Please tell me you found a phone?" Darius asked him.
"Uh, no, but I could be in the video." Kenji said as he leaned in front of the camera and put on a pair of sunglasses and did finger guns at the camera.
Sammy suddenly let out an excited gasp that caught everyone's attention as they all turned and looked toward her.
"Phone?" Darius tiredly asked as he looked up and over to her.
"Nope. It's better than that. It's an EDB, emergency distress beacon! After the first park went down, Mr. Masrani installed one on Main Street. It's battery-powered and can send an SOS signal 150 miles in all directions! We're saved!" Sammy excitedly informed her fellow campers as they all gathered around to listen to her.
"Does it say where it is?" Yasmina asked the main question.
"Uh… no. The rest of the chapter is just glamour shots of Dr. Wu wearing turtlenecks." Sammy said to her.
"Everybody spread out. There's a way to communicate with the outside world somewhere here on Main Street. We find this thing, and we go home." Darius told the other campers.
"Aye, aye, Captain." Cass said sarcastically with a half-assed salute to the younger boy as he went to fetch his sledgehammer and go off into the park to look for the EDB.
"Affirmative, human." Kenji said with a robot tone as he spoke through the walkie-talkie. "Beep. Boop-Boop. Beep" He made sounds as he robotically walked toward the exit.

"What's up, Brooklanders?" Brooklynn asks the camera while throwing up a peace sign, showing that she was now standing in the middle of Main Street. "You wanted exclusive footage? Well, here it is! And there's nobody better than me to show it to you. Ka-pow!" She exclaimed while striking a pose for the video.
"You do know "Brooklanders" is a weird name, right?" Kenji said to the girl, showing that he was the one holding the camera for her.
Brooklynn stood still for a few seconds before snapping back into reality. "Okay, I was ten when I came up with it, and- Just, shh, start over!" She said as she walked toward him as he shut off the recording.

"Beacon, beacon…" Darius mumbled to himself as he searched around. "If I was a beacon, where would I be?" He asked himself as he walked around and in between some of the buildings.
"Hey, D?" Cass spoke up from behind the younger boy, making him jump in fright.
"Dude! What- How are you so quiet?" Darius asked as he tried to calm his beating heart.
"Uh… practice?" Cass answers questioningly with a raised eyebrow. "Anyway, I was just gonna let you know I was gonna go search further away from the group, you know, on my own." He told the resident leader of the campers.
"Are you sure that's a good idea? I mean, what if something tries to attack you or hell, attack us?" Darius questions his choice of wanting to split up.
"Well, I'm me and I also have a sledgehammer. So I should be fine against most things. As for you and the others? I know you kids can handle yourselves." Cass offered a smirk to him as he adjusts his grip on the hammer.
Darius took a moment to think it over as he weighed the pros and cons. "Alright, just two ground rules. One; don't leave Main Street. And two; check in every hour or so, alright?" Darius said to the young adult.
Cass nodded his head in acceptance at the rules for his little solo search. "Sounds good to me."

Brooklynn now had hold of the camera and began recording the other campers and the first was Yasmina.
"I don't see any beacons in here." Yasmina called out as she looked through a glass door of presumably a cafe.
Brooklynn zoomed the camera out off of the girl and onto a poster of coffee while letting out a hum of want for the caffeinated beverage.
"I can't believe I'm gonna be in your video!" Sammy randomly cut in as she walked in front of the camera, causing Brooklynn to focus on and record her. "Ooh, should I have my own catchphrase?" She asked.
"Just talk about the stuff." Brooklynn told her in a hushed tone.
"Okay, according to the book, things in the park are disguised to keep up the whole natural illusion of Jurassic World." Sammy read out from the book before letting out a small gasp and jogging forward. "This rock is really a trash can." She said while opening and closing the metal flap of the trashcan. "Those vines are electrical cords." Sammy said while gesturing to said vines on the side of a building. "Pretty neat, right, Brooklanders?" She said but paused for a few seconds. "You ever notice "Brooklanders" is weird to say?"
"Ugh!" Brooklynn let out a groan as she cut off the recording.

Darius turns around at the sound of the beep and lets out a sigh as he turns back towards Yasmina as she searched through some rubble. "Find anything?" He asked quite possibly the most helpful person he had on hand at the moment, seeing as how Cass was off searching on his own so he really couldn't hold anything against him, but the other three campers were all goofing around instead of trying to find the EDB beacon.
"Not yet." Yaz said to him as she turned around to look at him. "What about the others?" She asked.
"Well Cass head out on his own to try and expand our search for the EDB, as for the others-" Darius stared but was promptly cut off.
"Found scooter!" Kenji yelled out as he rode past them all.

Brooklynn turned the camera so that she could record herself. "Hey, Brooklanders! Check this out!" She announced as Kenji whipped the scooter into frame. "Now it sounds weird to me, too." She told the boy in reference to the name she gave her subscribers.

"That rock is an electrical outlet." Sammy says and points to her left as she records herself while riding the scooter. "And that rock is a straw dispenser-" She was saying as she pointed to her right but suddenly crashed into something causing herself to fall over and the camera to tumble a few feet away. "I tripped on a rock." Sammy grumbled out.

Cass continued to wander around on his own as he thought up a plan to begin his search. "Okay, so if I were to install an EDB, where would I want to put it?" He asked himself. "Well… I probably wouldn't put it inside a random shop, that kinda limits who would be able to get to it. Hmm…" Cass hummed to himself as he sat down on the stairs leading up to the Innovation Center.
"If it's not gonna be in one of these buildings, then it's either in the Innovation Center, or it's somewhere outside on Main Street." Cass let out a sigh. "I've only been gone for roughly ten minutes. I suppose I'll go look in the Innovation Center while they continue to search out here." He said as he got up and turned around, then he began to walk up the steps.
'Dear Father, Mothers, and Sisters… Let's hope I don't fucking die in here.' Cass thought to himself with a slight chuckle.

"Maybe the beacon got trashed along with everything else?" Yasmina offered up an explanation as to why they haven't found it yet as she leaned up against a pillar of a building.
"It's here somewhere. It has to be." Darius said back to her before he walked off to continue his search.
Yasmina only nodded to him as she sat down on the ground to rest her legs after all the walking and searching she's done.

The T. rex stomps her way forward, but it's not just her that's making all this noise. No, she's dragging a massive log with her as she continues on her way home.
As she kept moving, a sign appeared from behind her, with that sign saying. "MAIN STREET", and it was pointing in the same direction that the Tyrannical Queen herself was heading in.

BACK ON MAIN STREET
* camera beeps *
"And this rock is… just a rock, but I think it's neat. What do you think, camp fam?" Sammy said as she gestured toward the camera.
"Camp fam?" Brooklynn quietly asked as she recorded the girl.
"That's right, it's a new catchphrase. Ka-pow!" Sammy says as she imitates Brooklynn's signature saying and gesture.
Brooklynn could only stare at the girl as she begins to regret finding the camera.

"Ugh, come on!" Darius said as he leaned up against a light pole.
Kenji snuck behind Darius as he recorded him with a camera and held up a dinosaur toy. "Mm, roar! I'm gonna eat you!" Kenji said in a weird voice as he walked up behind him and showed the toy on camera.
Darius turned around to look at him but gained a deadpan look on his face. "That's a stegosaurus, Kenji." He said with no energy in his voice.
Kenji continues to talk in his weird voice. "You look like a plant." He then begins to make chewing and munching noises as if the toy was eating Darius's hair.
Darius on the other hand just looked… done. 'This is one of the people I'm supposed to be surviving with…?' He thought to himself as he stared off into nothing.

"You know… I'm not sure whether it was a good or bad thing that the back door didn't lock when the park shut down…" Cass spoke to himself as he closed the door behind him and walked through the now empty halls of the Innovation Center. "But I'm not exactly gonna complain… yet." He said as he looked around for anything that could give him a hint of where the EDB was.
"As much as I know about the layout of this park, hell, I even know the security patterns and how much voltage they put in the electrical fences. I knew they had an EDB, I just wish I knew where the damn thing was." Cass continued to speak to himself while his voice echoed slightly within the empty building but then suddenly stopped. "Now that I think about it, it's probably best that the EDB location wasn't public knowledge, some dumbass would've tried to activate it for no reason."
"I guess I could try and search these other rooms first, then upstairs is next." Cass said with a sigh as he adjusted his hold on the sledgehammer so he was now carrying it by the neck at his side.
"Hopefully they find something useful out there." He said as he got to the first door and opened it.

All three girls could be heard laughing as they were gathered around one of the outside tables with a built-in umbrella. Yasmina was sitting in one of the chairs while she propped her feet up on the table whilst holding up the camera and recorded Sammy and Brooklynn.
Sammy and Brooklynn were currently posing for the camera and changing poses every few seconds all while laughing at and to themselves.
"Very fly." Yasmina said in between her chuckles.
Suddenly, Kenji's robotic voice caught their attention as he rode in on his scooter. "Anybody order frozen pizza from the world's dopest delivery boy?" And sure enough, he had two bags full of single-slice pizza boxes.
"Food?" Brooklynn asked as she and the others turned to look at him as he came over. "Finally! Yes!" Brooklynn ran over to Kenji.
"I'll get napkins from the rock." Sammy told them as she went to go do what she said.
The five campers sat down in their seats at the two tables that were right beside each other. They each had their own slice of frozen pizza in their hands and they all gave each other worried glances as if questioning whether or not they'd actually be able to eat this stuff.
And the answer is no. Because they all collectively cried and shouted out in pain as they bit onto the frozen slices of pizza only to recoil at how cold and hard they were. Kenji had even knocked his against the table to see how hard it was and it clinked at the contact.

'Okay, so that is literally both floors checked and not a single EDB to be found here.' Cass thought as he let out a sigh and closed the final door behind him. He walked back down the stairs and into the main lobby area. 'You know, this place is surprisingly intact… and safe. Well… as safe as you can be when your neighbor is a T. rex.' Cass thought with a chuckle as he stood in place and looked around the room he was in.
"Alright, so I've been gone for maybe 45 minutes by now? I guess since there's nothing here I should make my way back to the others." Cass spoke out loud as walked back to the rear entrance of the building and left. Now that he was out of the Innovation Center, he began to make his way back down Main Street and toward his fellow campers.
* humming *
"Hmm?" Cass hummed to himself at the noise that he was hearing. He searched for the noise that he was hearing off to his left, and he found out it was coming from a shop, but not just any shop, an ice cream shop, and connected to that shop was a general snack store.
"Lady Luck, I could kiss you right now." Cass said out loud as he went forward and tried to open the door but found it locked. "You see, that'd be a problem for most people but I've got this beauty right here…" He spoke to himself as he adjusted his grip on the sledgehammer and prepared to strike the door. "…so you're gonna open up one way or another!"
* bang *

The campers have been lounging about at the tables as they waited for the pizza to not be frozen. Brooklynn was sitting down while messing with the camera, Darius was standing up next to her as he read through the Jurassic World Guide to kill time, and Yasmina was sitting at the same table she's been at with her feet still propped up on the table but now she just has a bored expression on her face, Kenji was sitting at the second table with a pair of sunglasses that he found as he impatiently waited for the pizza to thaw out, Sammy was at the same table as him as she slouched and laid the top half of her body on the table while she waited.
"Okay, is the pizza thawed now?" Sammy asked Kenji as she was getting hungry.
Kenji let out a sigh as he stood up. "I'll check." He told the girl as he walked over to the pile of pizza boxes that they made, hoping that the summer heat would thaw them out and warm them up.
* shriek *
"Aah!" Kenji shouts out as he retracts his hand from the boxes and falls on his ass as a Compy suddenly appeared before him. There wasn't just one Compy, no, two more showed up beside it as they let out their screeches trying to make the boy back away from the food.
A Compy jumped up on the table that Sammy was resting at, letting out a screech. Sammy jumped back with fright as she let out a scream of her own. Another Compy ran out from beneath Brooklynn's chair causing her to lift her feet and let out a cry of fear. Three more Compies dropped down onto the umbrella and then onto the table that the three were sitting at, letting out their screeches at the campers.
"Throw the pizza! Throw the pizza!" Yasmina shouted out as she tried to swipe one of the Compies off the table.
"Aw, man! All of it?" Sammy questioned but was soon stopped as a Compy jumped up onto her table and let out a shriek, causing her to run over to the boxes of pizza and begin throwing them with Darius soon joining her.
Darius and Sammy began throwing the pizza as far as they could to get the little dinos to leave them alone. Although Kenji was right beside them, he was too busy playing tug-of-war with a Compy and pizza being the rope. And with that, the dozens upon dozens of Compies ran after the thrown food and left the campers alone.
"I'm really starting to dislike them Compies." Sammy said as she placed her hands on her hips.
Brooklynn walked up to the girl and had her arms crossed. "Ugh, they're like the rats of the dino world- they'll eat anything." She said.
"Yeah, but so will Kenji." Yasmina cut in as she tried to relax in her seat once more.
"I object to that." Kenji said to the girl as he quite literally was about to attempt to take a bite out of the frozen pizza that a Compy just had in its mouth.
"Ugh!" Brooklynn grunted in disgust as she slapped the slice of frozen food from his hand and playfully shoved him with made her laugh. Soon Kenji began laughing as well and Sammy decided she wanted to join in as she playfully shoved Kenji and the two began to play fight, all while laughing.
Yasmina just looked over at the three and smirked at them before turning her head to Darius and she immediately lost her smirk when she realized that he was still looking for the EDB instead of chilling out for a second.
After a few more seconds of looking around, Darius finally sat down against the building they were currently hanging around and let out a sigh. He just sat there with his eyes closed as he collected himself. "Come on, D, think. Work the problem." The young leader spoke to himself. "Seriously, what am I missing?" Darius asked as he turned toward where his fellow campers were but immediately noticed that they were no longer there.
Darius stood up and looked around for the others but noticed they weren't there. No sound or anything could point him to their location. Then he saw someone walking out of the corner of his eye, someone wearing a familiar blue shirt.
He furrowed his brow as he tried to make sure his eyes weren't playing tricks on him. 'It…It couldn't be…' Darius thought to himself as walked forward in hopes of finding them.
Darius slowly walked forward as he looked to his left and right as he searched for the familiar form and once again, the person walked just out of his peripherals.
"Ben?" The boy said out loud as he chased after them but soon came to a halt as he could no longer see him. Darius whipped his head in every direction that he could to find the missing boy. He soon heard him sprinting away, so Darius followed suit and ran after him.
"Wait!" Darius called out as he reached out and grabbed the boy's shoulder. The figure turned around showing that it truly was Ben.
"Ben? Ben!" Darius yelled as he wrapped his arms around the boy for a hug. "Oh, I can't believe it! I thought- We thought we'd lost you!" He explained as he slowly pulled back from the embrace.
"Why? Because you let me go?" Ben said with venom in his voice that he never had before.
Darius gained a look of shock on his face. "What? No, I tried-" He started to explain before suddenly being forced onto the ground by an invisible presence. He was no longer on Main Street, no, he was back on the monorail whilst Ben hung onto him.
"Let me go, Darius!" Ben yelled at him with anger.
"No, I won't! I can do this." Darius said as the boy's grip once again started to slip. "I'm going to get us all home. I'm going to save you." He yelled back.
"You promise?" A voice said that was no longer Ben's, but his father's.
Darius let out a gasp of shock. "Dad? Dad!" Suddenly his father was ripped from his grasp and sent down into the darkness below. "No!" He called out as he reached for him, but he couldn't save him.

MAIN STREET / NIGHTTIME
Darius woke up with a start and began panting in order to simultaneously catch his breath and calm his rapidly beating heart. His eyes darted about as he tried to find out where he was.
Yasmina and Cass knelt in front of the currently panicking boy. Yasmina had a hand on his right shoulder and Cass had a hand on his left. As both were trying to comfort him as well as make sure he doesn't jostle himself too much.
"Hey, whoa whoa! Y-You okay? Looked like you were having a bad dream." Yaz worriedly said to him as she slowly removed her hand from him.
"Yeah, I'm fine." Darius told her as he got his breathing under control and rubbed the back of his neck.
"Don't bullshit me, D." Cass told him as he gave his shoulder a light squeeze. "Here, let me get you something." He said as he stood up and looked through a bag that he'd brought back with him.
"When- When did Cass get back?" Darius asked as he fully registered that the oldest of the group was back with them.
"Maybe about 20 minutes after you fell asleep? Something like that." Yasmina answered him as she looked over to said member of their group. "I'm just glad he got back and with some snacks." She said with a sigh.
"Wait, snacks?" Darius asked.
"Mhm. It's probably not the healthiest combination, but you kids need all the food and energy that you can get." Cass spoke up as he walked over to Darius and handed him three items. The first one is a wrapped-up turkey and cheese sandwich, the second is a still cold ice cream bar, and the third is a bottle of water.
"Thank you." Darius gratefully accepted the food and water as he immediately ripped open the sandwich packaging and bit into it. "Where did you even find this stuff?" Darius asked after swallowing the first bite of food he's had in over 24 hours.
"They legit have a snack and ice cream shop right next to each other further up Main Street. Their lights won't turn on for shit but their coolers still run?" Cass chuckled as he still tried to make sense of it but just accepted that it's best if he just didn't ask.
"And everyone got this?" Darius asked as he was already almost done with his sandwich.
"Yeah, our lord and savior Cass over here got everyone their own meal for the night. With some slight variations here and there but it was essentially the same thing that you're having." Yaz told him as she playfully elbowed Cass's arm at the lord and savior part.
"I'll get more tomorrow. I just wanted to make sure everyone had at least something to eat today." Cass told the young leader as he threw a smirk at Yasmina's title for him.
Darius nodded his head as he balled up the packaging for the sandwich and opened up the ice cream wrapper, taking a bite of much-needed colder food for the summer heat that came to the island. "Again, thanks. And sorry that I fell asleep."
"I'm the one who volunteered to take the first shift, remember?" Yasmina reminded Darius. "Plus, Cass was keeping me company this whole time, so it's not like I was under too much pressure."
* snoring *
The three awake campers shared a small chuckle as they all turned to look at the sleeping trio. Brooklynn was sitting with her back against the counter as she slept. Sammy was laying down on the floor with her head in Brooklynn's lap. Kenji somehow was standing up in his sleep as he was slumped over onto the countertop.
Kenji managed to activate the robotic voice on the dinosaur walkie-talkie in his sleep and mumbled into it. "Meh meh meh meh meh…" He got out before slamming his head into his arm as he went back to sleep completely.
"I keep telling myself the batteries gotta run out sometime, right?" Yasmina spoke to the two boys.
"Yeah, good luck with that." Cass mumbled to himself with a roll of his eyes.
Darius on the other hand remained silent as he pulled his knees to his chest. "I have to find that beacon. I just need to try harder. I can find it if I try harder." Darius quietly spoke to himself.
Yasmina and Cass shared a look as they understood what was happening with their young leader. He was working himself rugged, something they both knew very well.
"Push-ups." Yasmina said as she suddenly started doing the exercise.
Cass kinda just raised an eyebrow in questioning as he looked the girl up and down. But he didn't say anything as he just watched what she was doing.
"Okay, that's the last time I eat unthawed pizza, 'cause, boy, is this dream getting weird." Darius said as he had absolutely no clue what was going on right now.
"When I race, I pressure myself. "Go faster, work harder." Sometimes that's good, but sometimes I get so stuck in my head that I can't see what's happening in front of me." Yaz explained to him as she stood up. "So, we loosen up, free our minds. Do push-ups, leg rolls, plank till your arms give out. You know, just have fun." She said as she did a few stretches.
"We have very different definitions of fun." Darius told her as he looked at her as if she was crazy.
"Yeah, no shit you bean sprout." Cass said as he walked over and used Yasmina's head as an armrest. "What she's saying is you just need to chill the fuck out for a second and just… process this stuff. No need to pile things so high that you can no longer see the goal, yeah?"
"Exactly." Yasmina agreed with his assessment. "You just need to take a break, Darius. So what's fun for you?"

JURASSIC WORLD DISCOVERY WALK
"Learning new dinosaur facts! Whoo!" Darius cheered out as he ran a bit ahead of Cass and Yasmina.
"Whoo." The two older teens unenthusiastically replied to him as they followed after the younger boy.
"I've been wanting to see the Jurassic World Discovery Walk since forever! I can't believe this place is practically untouched!" Darius yelled back at them as he went toward the first plaque.
"I can." The older teens said in unison once more before glancing at each other and letting out their respective chuckles.
"Race you to the next plaque!" Darius said as he hurriedly took five steps to his right and stood at the next plaque.
"That did not count as a race." Yasmina told the younger boy.
"Just let the kid have his victories when he can get them. Trust me, it's easier for everyone." Cass told her as he stood next to the girl with his hands in his pockets.
"Familiar situation in the past?" Yaz quietly asked the older teen, specifically in reference to his younger sisters.
Cass immediately knew what she meant. "Mhm. It's best to just let them have their moments when they arrive. You never know when the next one will be." He quietly told her. "Or the last…" Cass mumbled that last part but the girl at his side still heard him.
Yasmina could only watch the older teen's facial expressions change as he thought of his deceased family members before returning to his neutral gaze. She gave him a hum of acceptance as she grabbed onto his arm and gave a reassuring squeeze before they both refocused on the youngest of the three here.
"Check it out. Sauropods can eat up to 12,000 pounds of food per day! Obviously, their necks help them cover both elevated and lower grazing levels, but still, that's insane!" Darius read off the fact to them as he turned around.
"Okay, but what's the ratio of elevated to lower grazing levels that they feed on?" Cass asked the dino-nerd with a smirk.
"Uh… Race you again." Darius didn't answer as he ran another five feet to the next plaque. "Ooh, this one's about camouflage. Some dinosaurs developed color patterns to help them hide from…" He stopped reading as he repeated a word to himself. "Hide…" Darius let out a gasp that caught the others' attention. "I know where the beacon is."

MAIN STREET / THE NEXT DAY
"Look, we already looked here." Kenji said to Darius as the younger boy had them all out in the middle of Main Street as they gathered around each other.
"We looked, but we didn't look." Darius told him.
"Well, that clears that up." Brooklynn says with a hint of sarcasm.
"It's like Sammy was saying, things are disguised as other things. We never saw the beacon because it was camouflaged." Darius explained to the others as he walked over and put a hand on Sammy's shoulder.
"Makes sense." That was the only thing that Cass said in response as he walked off to start searching for the EDB, but this time, looking for hidden or camouflaged spots. The other campers joined in as they all ran off in their own directions.
Darius was looking inside and around trashcans, Sammy began searching through the bushes that were planted around the stores, Kenji was looking at… rocks? Like, not even big ones, just normal-sized handheld rocks. Brooklynn was looking around as she held onto the guidebook. Yasmina and Cass were searching together currently.
"You know…" Cass started to speak which caught Yaz's attention. "I still haven't gotten my hug." He said teasingly as he leaned down at the girl with a smirk.
Yasmina just smirked back at him. "Tell you what, if you're the one to find the EDB, I'll give you a hug." She told him.
"Oh, that'll be easy." Cass said as he walked in front of her.
"Really? How?" Yaz asked seeing as how he was so confident.
"Simple. Trees don't have handles." He said to her. And sure enough, the tree that he stopped next to had an obvious handle sticking out of the side. Cass grabbed onto the handle and pulled it open revealing some supplies inside of it.
"Well it's not an EDB, but it's a start." Cass said out loud as he closed the door.
"Indeed it is." Darius spoke up as he and the others happened to be walking this way. "Search the other trees, guys!" He told them.
And with that, the young campers rushed off to the other trees and opened them, but they were all empty.
"All aboard the fail-boat." Kenji said with a small laugh. "The rest of these are all empty, broseph." Kenji told Darius.
"This one's missing." Darius said in a low tone as he looked at the clearly ripped-off metallic tree. But he noticed a dirt trail and scratches that led away from the tree's original location and through a massive gate. All the other campers joined up with the young leader and looked down that pathway.
"Fuck." Cass said to himself as he knew exactly what was living down that path.
* snarling *
The young campers let out their gasps of fright as they heard the dreaded sound of a carnivore approaching. And sure enough, the Tyrannical Queen herself began marching down Main Street as well as holding the missing tree in her mouth and dragging it alongside her.
The group soon got out of the way seeing as how they didn't want to be spotted by the largest land carnivore on the island. The T. rex kept stomping forward through the long pathway that the campers were just standing at and turned into her enclosure. The large beast swung the tree onto a pile of other trees and large pieces of wood. She let out a soft snarl, almost like she was happy with the work she's done.
* roars *
The six survivors had managed to get themselves up on top of the giant walls that made the pathway and stopped right in front of the doorway that led into the T. rex paddock. They all ducked behind cover as the dinosaur let out her roar.
"A T. rex lair!" Darius whispered. "They found fossilized nests, but the T. rex never did this when the park was open. We're witnessing new behavior. This great!" Darius said as he looked over to his fellow campers but they all turned to look at him with an "are you serious" look.
"This is terrible." Darius corrects himself. "She built her lair right on top of Main Street."
"And it's about to get worse. Look." Brooklynn spoke up as she was recording the entire thing. The others all grouped around her and looked at the screen on the camera as she zoomed in. Showing that the tree that the T. rex just put down onto the nest did have the EDB.
"Well… I did say it was a tree." Cass said as he and the others all returned to their original spots.
* snarls and roars *
"How are you supposed to get to the beacon now?" Kenji asked Darius and Cass, seeing as how he really didn't want to do it.
"Um, don't you mean "we"?" Darius asked him.
"Nope. He meant you and me, D." Cass told him as he leaned back against the concrete.
"No, because I want to live, and living does not involve me walking into a T. rex lair!" Kenji responded to Darius's question.
"So wait, does this mean we can't signal folks and tell them we're still here?" Sammy asked out loud.
"Great. Try to spend a little time being normal teens, and it still ends up biting us in the ass." Kenji scoots a few feet away and covers his face with his hands as he speaks in a dejected manner. "I…" He started but let out a sigh. "I Just wanted 24 hours where we didn't have to think about dinosaurs, or being left behind, or, or… or Ben."
"It was nice while it lasted." Sammy said as she, Yasmina, Brooklynn, and Kenji all drifted their gazes elsewhere as they got upset. The only two who didn't show any sign of being upset were Darius and Cass.
"Hey, we can't give up now. I know it seems hopeless, but there's always an answer. We just have to get out of our own heads to see it." Darius told the group. And the others might have not seen it, but Cass and Yasmina sent the boy small smiles at the words he just spoke.
* distant stomping and roaring *
Darius looked back over their cover and at the EDB before turning back to Kenji. "Kenji, were there any more walkies in the gift shop?"

The T. rex was now leaving her lair in hope of finding more branches for her nest. Darius, Kenji, Brooklynn, and Yasmina were all behind cover as they waited for the Tyrannical Queen to leave her nest, and the dinosaur finally made its way past the exit and onto Main Street.
"Heading your way, guys." Yasmina spoke into her walkie-talkie as she peered over the concrete structure.

The large carnivore stomped her way into Main Street, scaring away the Compies that were searching for food scraps. The small prehistoric rats let out their screeches as they ran away from the much larger dinosaur. The T. rex made her way through and out of Main Street and into the surrounding jungle, letting out its periodic snarls.
"Listen up. She just passed by." Sammy whispered into her walkie-talkie as she and Cass hid up in a tree so they wouldn't be spotted while watching the dino.

"Coast is clear. Go for it!" The other campers heard out of Kenji's walkie-talkie.
Darius gave Kenji a nod as the two of them climbed over their cover and used the pipes below them to make their way to the ground. And once their feet were on solid ground once again, they looked up at the remaining two up on the wall. Yasmina and Brooklynn looked down at the two boys with the older girl giving them a reassuring nod.
The two boys nodded back before rushing over to the enclosure's massive gate.
"I hate this." Kenji flatly stated as he and Darius made their way inside. "Ugh, I hate this."
The two ran forward into the lair and up to the nest as they began to try and scale it. Darius grunted as he climbed up a few feet but let out a shout as he slipped down a bit but caught himself. Kenji grunted as he climbed but let out a shout for a different reason, he almost grabbed onto a bone, whether it was a dinosaur or human, he didn't want to know.
"Next time, Cass can come do this shit and I'll sit in the tree with a girl." Kenji semi-angrily said into his walk-talkie.
"So you wanna be closer to the giant killer dino?" Yasmina asked sarcastically towards Kenji's remark about Cass. And those words quickly shut up the boy as he went back to climbing the nest.
Darius climbed up a few more feet until he saw the EDB just a couple of feet higher. "There!" He pointed up at the beacon. Kenji made his way up to Darius, even after falling on his face a few times. They cleared away the small pieces of wood that lay on top of it and proceeded to try and rip the EDB out of its metal case, both boys grunting and groaning as they used all the force they could.
"The T. rex must have damaged the housing. I can't get it out." Kenji told the boy beside him.
"We don't need to get it out. We just have to activate it." Darius told him.

The T. rex was letting out her snarls as she searched through the small clearing for the appropriate piece of wood for her nest. Sammy soon lost sight as she looked for the dinosaur, so she changed over to a different branch to be on in an attempt to spot the T. rex, but still couldn't spot it. Sammy let out a whimper at not being able to see the large carnivore.
* snarling *
Her issue was immediately resolved but not in the way that she wanted, as the T. rex was right below her branch and looking into the tree. She let out a gasp of fright but was cut short as Cass clamped his hand over her mouth so that she wouldn't make any noise. He looked over at the girl and put a finger to his lips as a sign for her to be quiet, and not being one to argue, Sammy did exactly that once he removed his hand.
The last thing they needed was the T. rex to notice them.

"Help me get this open." Darius tells Kenji as he tries to pry open the hatch on the EDB.
Kenji lets out a whimper and shudder of disgust as he picks up a piece of a dinosaur's jaw bone. He brings it over and presses it against the lip of the hatch so that himself and Darius could pry it open. Both boys grunt and groan as they use all of their available strength to open it up.

* T. rex snarling. *
Cass and Sammy pressed themselves up against the tree as a way to reduce their chances of being seen, especially now that the T. rex was looking in their direction. Sammy started to breathe heavily due to her being scared out of her mind at the proximity of the large dinosaur.
Cass saw this and slowly adjusted himself to get closer to the girl and once he was close enough, he placed an arm around her and held her against the tree to make sure she wouldn't move. "Shh." Cass whispered calmly to the younger girl as he looked her in the eyes.
Sammy looked back into his eyes and saw nothing but his calm and collected stare. She slowly nodded to him as she began to collect her breathing before looking back down at the T. rex below them. Cass gave a nod back and looked down too.
* T. rex growls *
The dinosaur below them suddenly snapped forward and grabbed onto a smaller branch and tore it off. Not being ready for the sudden movement from the predator, Sammy accidentally let out a small squeak of fear before immediately clamping a hand over her mouth.
Though it appears as if the T. rex didn't hear anything as she stomped away with the branch in her mouth.
"Are you kidding?" Sammy said to herself as she leaned forward, not expecting the dino to be returning so soon. But in her move, her hand slipped and caused her to drop the walkie-talkie. Thankfully Cass was there to catch it for her, as well as help her get situated back into the tree.
"Just take some breaths, Sammy." Cass told the younger girl before turning on the walkie-talkie. "The T. rex is heading back to her lair."

"You know what that means. You guys have to get out of there. Now." Cass's voice came through the radios.
Brooklynn and Yasmina shared a look of worry as they heard his words. Brooklynn stood up and looked over the cover and at the two boys inside the lair and saw them still trying to get the EDB open.
"Darius? Kenji?" Cass asked over the radio.
"Why aren't they answering?" Brooklynn asked the girl beside her.
Yasmina stood up and called into her radio. "Guys! She's coming back right now!" But once again, neither of the boys responded to her. "Mayday! Guys!" Still nothing. "Oh, I knew it! Kenji ran down the battery." Yasmina yelled out in frustration. She let out a sigh. "What now?"
"We gotta stall that T. rex." Brooklynn said as if it was the simplest thing in the world.
"How do you stall a T. rex?" Sammy asked incredulously of their radio.
"Simple. You just need to make a loud noise." Cass told them.
Brooklynn let out a gasp as she looked at the camera in her hand and ran off to go set up the distraction.
"What are you doing?" Yasmina asked the girl but got no answer in response.
Brooklynn made it back down into Main Street and ran off in a direction hoping to find what she needs in time.

Both Darius and Kenji were straining themselves as they continued to put everything they had into prying the hatch open.

Cass and Sammy run through the jungle in hopes of getting to the others before the T. rex did. But it wasn't going to be that easy, as the Tyrannical Queen was already back on Main Street.

"Come on! Open already!" Darius grunted out as he and Kenji kept trying to force it open. And with one final effort they opened it but fell down the nest due to the lack of resistance keeping them in place, both boys let out grunts of pain as they onto the hardwood.
Darius let out a small laugh as he looked upon the open EDB.
* distant stomping *
Darius and Kenji let out gasps and whimpers as they heard the stomping of the T. rex. They turned around and looked at the door, expecting it to appear any moment.

Sammy panted as she ran as fast as she could with Cass right behind her. But they finally made it back onto Main Street and close to the archway that led to the enclosure and they saw the T. rex make her way under it and began stomping her way home.
Cass pulled the girl back around the corner of a building they were hiding behind and gave her a reassuring nod. 'They'll make it.' He thought to himself.

The T. rex let out a snarl as she marched her way down the pathway that led to her lair.
"Aah!" Yasmina let out a small scream as she saw the dinosaur and hid behind cover again.
* T. rex growling *
Darius and Kenji hid behind some of the wooden cover that was sticking out of the nest. Both boys began whimpering in fear as the T. rex made its way into her home, and they were preparing themselves to be found.
"What's up, Brooklanders?" Was loudly heard throughout the park and thankfully it caught the dino's attention because the turned around with a growl and went to find the noise.
Brooklynn was standing out in the middle of the road as the T. rex came around the corner and spotted her. The Tyrannical Queen let out a roar as she charged forward, it was so loud that Sammy and Cass had to cover their ears for it. But once she was gone, the two ran back to meet with the others.

Darius hurriedly climbed up the nest once more as he got to the EDB. He flicked the switch on and the screen glowed green with a beep and showed the words "SIGNAL SENT". Darius let out a sigh of relief.

The T. rex kept charging forward toward the form of Brooklynn as it let out a roar, and once the large beast was upon her she raise one of her mighty legs and crushed the girl beneath her foot.
"You wanted exclusive footage?" Brooklynn's voice was heard.
The dinosaur removed her foot and looked down, showing that it was nothing but a cardboard cutout of Brooklynn with the camera playing audio next to it.
"Well, here it is! And there's nobody better than me to show it to you." The recording said.
Meanwhile, the real Brooklynn was off to the side watching all of this as she hid behind one of the umbrellas. She gave herself a nod before running off to meet up with the others.
The T. rex sniffed the cardboard figure of Brooklynn before stomping its foot on the ground again and letting out another monstrous roar at the thought of it being deceived.

"We activated the beacon. The SOS signal was sent out." Darius said to Yasmina as he, Kenji, Sammy, and Cass all stood next to each other.
And with that news, all of them ran off to get the fuck out of Main Street. And soon enough, all six campers were back together as they ran through the jungle with a few bags of supplies and away from the danger that was the T. rex.
The group all hid behind a large fallen tree as the younger ones all gave each other a celebratory group hug while Cass stood off to the side and just chuckled at their antics.
"We're gonna be saved!" Yasmina yelled out excitedly.
"We did it!" Brooklynn said.
"Yeah!" Darius and Kenji shouted at the same time.
"Yeehaw! That's what I'm talking about!" Sammy happily said.
"Sorry, you had to give up your camera." Darius said to Brooklynn.
"Eh, it was old and janky anyhow. My followers deserve way better picture quality than that." Brooklynn told him.
"Where to now, Darius? We obviously can't go back to Main Street." Sammy said to the young leader.
"Now we have to find a place to hole up until help arrives. And rescue will be coming. We just gotta stay alive until they do." Darius said to them all.
"That's the easy part, D." Cass said as he shouldered his sledgehammer and jokingly slapped him in the back making the younger boy stumble a bit. "And I already have a few ideas on where we can set up base." He said with his usual smirk.

The screen to the EDB went blank for a moment just before coming back on. But this time it was no longer green, but blue. And it read a different message than before, it said…
"SIGNAL RECEIVED"

Alrighty, holy shit. That was the longest chapter so far and it took damn near a week to complete. But I'm glad that I returned and got it done for all of you who read this story of mine.
