"Time to Split Up"

Everyone was cheering and applauding the performance that they witnessed while the Hex Girls stared down at all of the people that were there.
They were happy to know that these strangers (plus Davey and Veemon) all enjoyed their performance, but they didn't appreciate the fact that they had watched them without their permission.
"Thanks. What are you doing here?" Thorn questioned as Impmon moved to stand at her side.
"The concert is tomorrow." Dusk stated as Thorn set down her guitar.
Luna then took notice of the raven haired man standing with the group.
"Hey, aren't you Ben Ravencroft?" Luna asked making her band mates turn to look at the man.
"Why? You're not going to bite me are you?" Ben joked with a chuckle.
The Hex Girls appeared amazed that a famous author was standing in front of them and had been enjoying their performance.
Thorn was the first one to hop down from the stage and was soon joined by her sisters who gathered around her to stand in front of Ben.
"I've always wanted to meet you. You're a lot like us." Thorn said as she gestured to the girls.
"Yeah, you understand what we're into." Luna grinned.
Scooby and Shaggy were staring at the Hex Girls which caught Dusk's attention.
The blonde turned around to look at the hippy and his dog, recognizing them as the cowardly duo she and her sisters had frightened off earlier that night.
"Hi." Dusk hissed with a smile, showing off her fangs.
"H-Hello!" Shaggy and Scooby greeted fearfully.
Davey and Veemon shared a look before they sighed in disbelief at their friends for getting frightened so easily.
Impmon then walked over to stand by Thorn, catching the attention of Veemon who smiled at his fellow Digimon, but the dragon couldn't help but become suspicious.
Someone was going around pretending to be a witch and throwing fireballs.
That sounded like the type of prank that an Impmon would happily play on someone, but was this Impmon involved?
What about the Hex Girls?
Could the witch tormenting the town have been a publicity stunt for their show or to help gather more tourists for the Autumn Fest?
The Hex Girls and Impmon all seemed so nice and Veemon didn't want to make any accusations without some sort of proof.
"That was quite the performance, Ms…?" Fred trailed off.
"Thorn. This is Dusk and Luna. We're Eco Goths." Thorn explained after she gestured to each of her sisters.
"Eco Goths?" Shaggy and Scooby repeated confused by what that is.
Dusk then stepped forward, a frown on her face and hands on her hips.
"And we don't need your approval." The blonde said making them jump back.
"Hey, isn't that a Digimon?" Daphne pointed out.
"Yeah, this is my partner Impmon." Thorn said and Velma's eyes zeroed in on the Digivice that was strapped onto the garter that the raven haired beauty had around her thigh.
She was only able to see it because Thorn had moved in a way that revealed the Digivice through the slit that the dress had.
"Nice to meet ya!" Impmon greeted with a two figured salute and cheeky grin.
"Davey, it seems like you just can't stay away." Thorn teased.
Daphne, Fred, Velma and Ben all turned to look at the raspberry haired girl who simply smiled at the beautiful woman in black and red.
"We noticed the light show and got curious. Anyway, you've already met Ben, but this here s Fred, Velma and my cousin Daphne. And these guys here are Shaggy and Scooby. You've briefly met before." Davey introduced everyone.
"It's nice to meet you. You three really put on quite an amazing performance." Daphne smiled as she linked arms with Davey.
"Thanks." Luna nodded with a polite smile.
"Gee, all those explosions at the end were pretty mystifying, eh, Velma?" Fred gave the brunette in orange a knowing look.
"Yeah, very mystifying." Velma gave a smile and narrowed her eyes as she looked up at the blond.
It was obvious that the Hex Girls were now on the suspect list.
This fact made Davey frown.
She genuinely liked the Hex Girls.
Besides, Thorn was a DigiDestined.
There was no way she could be capable of doing anything wicked, even if her partner is an Impmon.
"So, where are you girls from?" Ben questioned.
"Oak Haven, but we won't be here for long. We're close to cutting our first CD. Well, it's been killer meeting you." Thorn held her hand out to Ben.
"Same here." Ben accepted her hand and shook it.
"But we gotta get back to our rehearsal." Thorn jabbed her thumb at the stage.
With that said, the Hex Girls and Impmon made their way back over to the stage while Mystery Inc and their friends began to walk off.
"Those Hex Girls seem kind of suspicious." Fred mused.
"I'll say." Velma agreed.
"Why? Why do they seem suspicious? Because of the way they dress? Because Thorn is partnered to a Digimon that comes from a Fallen Angel evolution line?" Davey asked with her hands on her hips and eyes narrowed.
She wasn't going to allow a witch hunt to happen while she was there.
It seemed unfair for the Hex Girls to be judged simply because of the way they chose to dress or because they were different compared to everyone else.
That was how things usually got started.
"Like, take it easy, Davey. Don't get so worked up." Shaggy placed his hands on her shoulders to placate her.
"I think the reason they're suspects is because we don't have any real leads about who could be behind this. Besides, what about those explosions?" Veemon brought up.
"That's right. They could be the same as the ones the witch who attacked you guys used." Daphne added.
Davey had to admit, her partner and cousin had a point, but there were still some missing facts.
"But that's not possible. If they were behind the witch attack, then how did it take them barely any time to get from the road and to here, set up and ready to perform? It took Veemon and I over twenty minutes to find the guys after they ran off screaming because they thought the girls were witches. From the time of the attack and us seeing the light show their stage equipment made, it was only a few minutes." Davey explained.
The werecat's statement made everyone share a look, thinking her words over as they began to ponder what that meant.
"That is a good point. Perhaps we shouldn't start making any accusations about them just yet, but I suppose it wouldn't hurt just to keep an eye on them in case." Ben added.
"I agree." Velma said.
"Daph and I will keep an eye on them." Fred offered.
"Gee, why is it that you always pair off with Daphne, Fred?" Velma asked with an amused look.
Daphne smiled looking quite pleased while Fred was bashful, stuttering over his words while Davey and Veemon rolled their eyes.
"Uh, well, I…" Fred tried to explain, but Velma held up a hand to stop him.
"Never mind, it's a good idea. You two stay here. I want to take another look at where the guys saw that ghost." Velma jabbed her thumb at Scooby and Shaggy whose jaws dropped and they shook in fright.
Davey and Veemon nodded at that, turning to begin walking off in the direction where the witch had first attacked them.
"Come on." Velma said and the group began walking off.
Fred then turned to Daphne, giving her a bashful smile while she appeared amused.
