Update- Fixed a massive plothole and massive changes to dates.
151 Galactic Standard year- Several Slann mage priests, including Mazdamundi, the oldest of the remaining living Slann in the world populated by the race of Men, received a vision of a great victory against Chaos, one where the vile force is sealed off from the world. In this vision, the undead legions of Nehekhara achieving such a goal and then conquering this world for their own ambitions. This caused them to speak to each other telepathically, to discuss the vision. To see if it was the will of the Old Ones, their creators, for this to occur. For the undead to achieve final victory over the Chaos Gods. For days, they contemplated and pondered the vision, inviting other Slann from all other generations to bring in their thoughts into the conversation until eventually all Slann of all spawnings, baring the First as none were alive, were contemplating the vision, preventing any from participating any other activity.
155 GS- For years, the Slann were pondering the vision, indecisive when it comes to either following it or ignoring the vision. They would have continued to be indecisive had it not been the sudden stirring of Lord Kroak, the first-ever Slann to be created by the Old Ones. The ancient Slann may be dead, but his spirit refused to let that be the end of his service to the Old Ones. Using his mastery of telepathy, Lord Kroak entered the conversation. He then told them all of the validity of the vision and that they must follow it if they wished to remove the taint of Chaos from this world. And with the words of the first spawning Slann, all other Slann, including Mazdamundi, agreed to follow the vision in order to defeat the forces of Chaos. And so, they went to work on making the vision become a reality.
160 GS- After five years of long searching and planning, the Slann put their plan into motion. Finding the exile Nehekharan, Grand Hierophant Khatep, leader of the Mortuary Cult, the Slann, or rather those they went to find the exile, promised him great knowledge, knowledge that may hold the key to the ending of his exile, if he journeyed back to Nehekhara to tell the grand leader of all Tomb Kings, Settra the Imperishable, the plan to rid the world of Chaos and establish Nehekhara as the ruler of all life in the world. It took weeks to convince the Grand Hierophant of their glorious plan, but eventually, he agreed, traveling back to the deserts of Nehekhara to accomplish what would become the greatest victory of Nehekhara.
161 GS- Khatep returns to Khemri, causing Settra to immediately have him brought forth to him, to see if he had the knowledge necessary to uphold the ancient promise of the Mortuary Cult, which was to give true eternal life to all of Nehekhara. When Khatep told him that he hadn't as of yet, Settra was enraged. He demanded to know why the Liche priest returned if he hadn't acquired the knowledge to fulfill the ancient promise and to answer him quickly lest he suffer a painful demise. Thus, Khatep told him the vision of the Slann, the conquering of the world by Settra, and them achieving much more. This intrigued Settra, which stayed his hand. Khatep then told him that, in order to know more, he must converse with the Slann mages themselves. For they held the answers to this future. Both intrigued and ambitious to achieve such a future, Settra ordered a grand ship be built for someone of his stature along with a great fleet as an escort.
162 GS- Settra then set sail for Lustria at the head of a grand fleet of Nehekharan warships. In a span of a week, they've arrived to Lustria, where Settra immediately set forth to Itza, the greatest of the temple-cities of the Lizardmen. It was here that Settra received the wisdom of the Slann. It was here that Settra learned of what will happen when the Tomb Kings emerged victorious. And it was here that Settra learned how to achieve the final victory against Chaos as well as what the Tomb Kings desired above all else. In the end, Settra left Lustria with ships full of ancient Lizardmen artifacts and knowledge that will help accomplish the Tomb Kings most glorious campaign in the history of Nehekhara.
164 GS- Settra, needing a powerful and loyal head for the Mortuary Cult again, allowed Khatep to return to his former position as the Grand Hierophant of the Mortuary Cult. However, in order to attain it, Khatep was forced to swear various oaths of loyalties to Settra along with the Mortuary Cult having less power than it had at the height of it's power. All of this Khatep took in stride and accepted without complaint. He then set to work to decipher the Lizardmen artifacts and knowledge. While he did this, Settra was rising all the Tomb Kings of all dynasties, bringing them and their massive armies to bear when the day comes for their ultimate triumph.
167 GS- Khatep discerned how to use the Lizardmen artifacts to their greatest effects. He then told Settra of where they need to place the artifacts and how to use them to their full effect using rituals created be him and the Slann mage priests. Unfortunately, the placements for the artifacts had them located in the lands of the Empire of Man. While the Tomb Kings had a massive army and Settra was more than eager to fight the inferior Empire of Man, Khatep advised along with a few others that it was better for them to discreetly place the artifacts inside the Empire of Man rather than through force, so that the artifacts won't be damaged by any fighting. He also told them that it would be impossible to both drive Chaos away and keep their magic, the thing they need to bring the Tomb Kings to their glorious ascension as well as the thing that kept them alive. To seal off Chaos would also be dooming them to death and that was unacceptable in the eyes of Settra. Fortunately, Khatep told Settra that he can use the artifacts to only allow slivers of the realm of Chaos to pour through this world. Just enough to sustain them and allow them to use magic if they wished, but without allowing the demons to influence them or their subjects. This was the action that Settra ordered him to do.
In addition to all this, They also advised that they spend their forces on defeating and destroying Arkhan the Black, rather than the Empire. They reasoned that Arkhan will try to resurrect Nagash, his one true master, while most of their attention is diverted to their ultimate victory. Convinced by his advisors as well as his hatred for Nagash, Settra set out emissaries to find one that can accomplish what they need with discretion. One that he knew was capable of doing so.
168 GS- Arriving at the Silver Pinnacle, an emissary of Settra spoke with the first of the Vampires, Neferata, and told her of the great plan that Settra was undertaking, it's rewards. He also told her that, to achieve it they needed the resources of the Silver Pinnacle. In return for her services, Settra was prepared to return her Lahmia, the city of dawn, to her along with a full pardon of all her crimes against Nehekhara. Neferata, for a brief moment, said nothing. Just as swiftly, she willed the emissary leave intact, to tell Settra that he will have his answer when the emissary arrived. And just as she said, by the time the emissary arrived at Kehmri, a vampire of Neferata was there, swearing Neferata's allegiance to Settra. Why the first Vampire would so easily bow to Settra was one of great debate, but rumors abound that Neferata did so because of dark dreams that have been plaguing her as of late. Dreams of Nagash's return.
169 GS- Necrotects of all dynasties began to create constructs of all shapes and forms. Some even constructing new constructs that have never been created before.
170 GS- Lahmian sisterhood agents embedded in the Empire begin to discreetly manipulate Imperial politics and patrols to prevent people from stumbling on the ritual sites needed for Settra's plan.
171 GS- Mortuary cult priests arrive to ritual sites with Lizardmen artifacts, now revealed to be Old One technology.
Late 171 GS- Rituals preparation begin in earnest. However, just as they begin, the thirteenth Everchosen of Chaos, Archaon, launches a Chaos invasion of proportions never seen since the beginning of time. At the same time, Arkhan the Black, has stolen several individuals of great power, including the Everqueen of the High Elves' daughter. Through Neferata's spies, Settra learns that Arkhan is attempting to revive Nagash with the help of a High Elf. Enraged at the attempt of resurrecting the greatest enemy of Nehekhara, Settra orders Apophas, the cursed scarab lord, to find and eliminate both individuals before they can revive Nagash, giving him an army to do so if necessary. He also had the Silver Pinnacle be surrounded by several legions in case Neferata attempts to ally with Nagash.
Early 172 GS- The rituals begin. While these are occurring, Apophas has managed to prevent the resurrection of Nagash. Under the cover of a combined Dwarven, and High Elf attack on Nagashizzar, Apophas captured the Everchild of the High Elves, Aliathra, from Manfred Von Carstein and brought her to Khemri. The prince reasoned to Settra, who was enraged at his choosing of taking the high elf over killing any accomplice of Arkhan, that it was best for them to fight Arkhan in their own territory, where they held the advantages. Settra, still enraged, had Apophas punished through magical means. While the scarab prince was being tortured, Settra prepared his defenses for Arkhan's arrival.
Early 173 GS- The first of the rituals have been completed and already those with inane connection to the realm of Chaos felt their connection wane and weaken. Warriors and agents of Chaos were sent to discern why this was, only to either be led astray or killed by Neferata's agents, allowing more rituals to be complete discreetly, which weakened the forces of Chaos considerably, allowing the Empire to hold against the endless tide of Chaos.
Mid 173 GS- Arkhan arrives with a grand host of undead, eager and desperate to take back the Everchild so that he can use her as a sacrifice to revive Nagash. Meeting the Liche head on, Settra's armies clashed with Arkhans'. As this was occurring Neferata slipped into where Aliathra was held and killed her. She then dried the corpse of it's blood and spun away to see who would win in the fight to either revive Nagash or prevent it. Upon taking in a good look of the battle before her, Neferata realized that it was a stalemate and that some outside force needed to interfere if they wished this battle to end quickly. Thus, Neferata made a decision that sealed her loyalty forever. Traveling to the Silver Pinnacle as fast as she could, Neferata summoned her armies and sent them to Nehekhara to be the deciding force of the battle between Settra and Arkhan. Meanwhile, Khatep grew uneasy as the forces of Chaos began to slowly overwhelm the Empire. Yet, that wasn't what uneased the old Liche priest. No, it was the lack of appearance of the Everchosen himself on the battlefield and the strongest of his warriors. Regardless of that worry, he went to work on the final ritual to weaken Chaos from this world forever.
Mid 173 GS- Neferata's armies arrive and they marched towards the flank of both Arkhan and Settra. At first, both sides wondered which side these new armies will take and Settra wondered if Neferata betrayed him, but then everything was put to rest when the new armies of undead charged into the exposed flank of Arkhan's army, thus allowing Settra an opportunity to press his attack on Arkhan with his constructs. Thus, with the attacks coming from all sides, Arkhan's forces were obliterated and the Liche was captured. With Arkhan captured, Settra ordered Apophas send his soul to Usirian, the Nehekharan god of the underworld, to prevent him from ever attempting to resurrect Nagash again.
Late 173 GS- The final ritual has begun and there was no preventing it. The Empire learns of their rituals too late and what forces they can send are insufficient to stop them for the forces of Chaos are besieging everything near them, destroying everything they set their sights on. They also send forces to deal with the ritual as they finally realize what was happening, but they merely send small hordes for they couldn't send anything larger because of the Empire. By now, the influence of Chaos has begun to seep away from the world, enraging the Chaos Gods. They did everything in their power to stop this, even sending the Daemon Prince Be'lakor to deal with it, but Khatep had anticipated this. Through the usage of ancient Lizardmen knowledge along with his own, Khatep managed to use part of the ritual's energies and banished Be'lakor from the physical realm, though he scorched the land in the process, making it uninhabitable for millennia. With the banishment of Be'lakor, Khatep went on to finish the ritual. With the ritual's completion, Chaos and it's corrupting influence is gone, leaving only small gaps to allow magic to seep through to the world. None, barring perhaps Tzeentch, can use them to manipulate people and even then Settra had planned for this. What followers of Chaos still left, found their strength wane and their boons leaving them. This would have made them easy pickings for the Empire and it's allies had it not been another effect of the ritual.
Khatep, seeing the trouble the Empire of Man will have for the return of Nehekhara empire, modified the last ritual to not only banish Chaos from this world, but also decimate the Empire's lands. Not only would they rid the world of Chaos, but they'll also be eliminating the most dangerous obstruction to a fully restored Nehekhara empire. And with all those Imperials dead, they can take their technology and raise the dead to swell their undead hordes greatly. And so, with a blast of magic, Chaos was banished from the realm and the Empire of Man was no more, obliterated into nothing.
Satisfied at his work, Khatep went back to Nehekhara to tell Settra of the good news.
174 GS- Settra, upon hearing the news of all that Khatep has accomplished, allowed him to live for his failure to uphold the ancient promise of the Mortuary Cult. He then announced the return of the Nehekhara empire and that all the world will become subjects of this grand empire. Armies were raised and the undead marched to claim the world for Settra. Within a month, armies of Nehekhara arrived in the former lands of the Empire while others faced down the Greenskins, Skaven, and Dwarves between Nehekhara and the lands of the Empire. Liche priests raised the dead of the Empire to be converted as soldiers while Necrotects took what they wanted from the remains of Imperial engineering. Though some Necrotects were disgusted with such an act, they were forced to under orders of Settra himself, wanting everything the Empire could give them.
175 GS- The armies of Nehekhara invade the lands of Bretonnia and Athel Loren, both weakened from the invasion of Chaos and the weakening of magic in the world, both were easy pickings for the undead. Despite their weakened capabilities, both the Wood Elves and humans of Bretonnia reaped a heavy toll on the undead. All for naught, however, as the undead were bolstered by the remains of the Empire, the largest concentration of humans in the entire world., allowing them to take far more casualties than necessary to win against the weakened elves and humans of Bretonnia. While all this was occurring, Settra was leading an invasion of Ulthuan with the finest legions of Nehekhara at his side. Upon arriving there, Settra was momentarily stupefied when he saw Ulthuan was under civil war with elves of all types participating it. Once he recovered however, Settra ordered the attack to commence and to only spare the children and a handful of women and men for future usage as slaves.
176 GS- After a year of brutal fighting, the Nehekharans emerged victorious and captured Ulthuan itself, capturing both it and the troves of elven knowledge within. The Liche priests immediately set to work on deciphering it all for a way to fulfill the ancient promise of the Mortuary Cult. Meanwhile, Settra was on his way to conquer the Druchi's territory as well and all other territories in the world.
At the same time, Lizardmen of Lustria were making their ways to the breaches where energies of Chaos were seeping through to both guard the world of potential future Chaos incursion as well as to drain any excess magic in the world so daemons can't be summoned to the world. Though some Slann were displeased with how the Tomb Kings went about banishing Chaos, others were satisfied with it.
186 GS- Neferata, to cement her loyalty to Settra, gave him all the knowledge of Nagash she has and sent out her Lahmian sisterhood to acquire more to do whatever he pleased with it. She also gave him information about faraway lands, like Cathay. Information that will cement the conquering of those regions. As a result, Settra gave her Lahmia for her to do what she sees fit. Pleased, Neferata went to work to restore Lahmia to her grand vision.
190 GS- Though Khatep was unable to find anything that will bring forth the immortality that the Tomb Kings desired, even with all the knowledge of all the elven kinds, he was able to find a way to purify the Great Vitae River, restoring it to it's former glory before Nagash tainted it. When word reach Settra of this, the Imperishable immediately ordered that the purification of the river be done when the world belong to him. Thus, Khatep prepared for the day when such a time will come.
224 GS- Over half a century of fighting and Settra has conquered the world. All, be they human to elves, bow to him. Those who haven't or deemed unworthy of his rule, like the Ogres and the Giants, were exterminated, their remains used to create powerful constructs or undead warriors. When he returned to Khemri, he found Khatep ready to begin the purification of the Great Vitae River. Thus, with but a gesture, Settra ordered the purification of the Vitae River. He watched with satisfaction as the dark and corrupted waters of the Vitae river turned pure once more. With this, however, came a most unexpected event. Ptra, the Nehekharan Sun God, emerged from the Great Vitae River. The Sun god's power, along with the rest of the Nehekharan pantheon, had their power greatly diminished by the rise of Chaos and the coming of Nagash, but with the banishment of Chaos, the Nehekharan pantheon has their strength returned to them. Floating above his awed subjects, Ptra then ordered Settra, the only one to remain standing before the great god, to expand the Nehekharan empire beyond even the confines of the world. He told the great Settra that it was time for the Nehekharan empire to expand to the stars. With that, in a burst of light, the Sun God left them alone. As his servants recovered from seeing their god, Settra knew what he had to do. With that, he ordered the Lizardmen, the one race that bowed willingly to his will, be brought before him. So, they can give them the knowledge to construct ships that can take them to the stars.
225 GS- Attempts to create ships to take the Tomb Kings to the stars begin.
226 GS- The last of Nagash's artifacts, baring the Black Pyramid itself and a few scattered relics, were found and destroyed.
857 GS- The first actual prototype starship were built and tested. Tests ended in disaster that destroyed a whole city. Settra, upon hearing this, ordered the executions of the Necrotects in charge of the construction.
1698 GS- After many failures and deaths, the first successful prototype starship was successfully launched into space. Despite this success, Settra waited until more results came in. It will not do if Settra dies because of the failures of his servants to create a ships worthy of him. A few months later, Settra decreed the ship design a success and ordered it be replicated immediately.
1708 GS- The first batch of starships leave the planet that the Nehekharans dub Azar. The ships soon began colonizing all planets around the Azar.
Mid 1708 GS- It was soon found out that the planets around Azar were not suitable for anything but the dead. This suited the vampires under Neferata fine, but Settra wanted more. More life to conquer and take under his rule. To him, a kingdom is no kingdom if it didn't have subjects worthy for it and Settra wanted more slaves and subjects to rule over. A few more months later, however, a ship found a strange cache of materials in a red planet they call Mars. They bring this forth to the Mortuary cult, who begin attempting to decipher what they are.
1709 GS- After bringing in the Slann to help decipher what the cache was, the Mortuary cult was able to learn of a device capable of traveling to distant locations with the right technology, far faster than what they're ships can attain at the moment. They also learn of the technology required to use the device and a powerful substance that can help them achieve such feats themselves. They immediately set to work with the Necrotects to recreate such technology and to harness this substance called element zero. They eventually found massive amounts of the substance on Mars along with more caches of technology. As a result, the Mortuary cult take Mars for themselves, which Settra allows when he is told of the immense potential of the planet to the cult, and therefore him, if they have complete control over it.
1870 GS- Replication of the technologies have been successful and the location of the device has been found as well. The first ship retrofitted with the new technology found on Mars uses the device. They are then propelled in a blue light towards somewhere. They soon arrive back in Azar's system in a few days, bringing stories of more devices like the one they used. This caused a stir in Settra's court, to which caused the Imperishable to formulate a plan. He soon ordered more ships to use this technology found on Mars and for the Necrotects to set to work on it immediately. He also ordered the construction of more powerful constructs and legions to better protect his worlds.
1878 GS- A series of rebellions in the former lands of the Empire of Man occur. These were swiftly put down, but Neferata soon told Settra that the rebellions occurred because of people learning of the god Sigmar. She told him that, in order to prevent such a rebellion from happening again, they must erase all records and mentions of Sigmar and replace them with more monstrous descriptions of the God. That way, people will not willingly worship the God and no more rebellions will be done in his name. She also claimed they needed someone that can treat their thralls and servants fairly. Just enough to keep them compliant. As a result, she asked Settra for the resources she needed to bring back Vlad Von Carstein, formerly known as Vashanesh, and his wife, Isabella Von Carstein, to life. So they can take care of the servants better than any of them can. Settra, deciding to indulge the Vampire, granted her request.
1890 GS- Several star systems were found via objects called Mass relays and were soon colonized. Though many worlds found were unsuitable for the living, those suitable were immediately prioritized for colonization. So, the living can have more room for breeding and thus have more servants for the Nehekharan Empire. More Mass relays were found and activated, allowing many ships to find other worlds to colonize.
2157 GS- Nehekhara is restored completely to it's former glory. Where there was once nothing but sand, there were fertile pockets of forest and signs of life again. It was because of this that Settra ordered a massive celebration be commenced along with a massive exodus to the desert cities of Nehekhara so they can once again teem with life. Many servants from all over the lands, both unwilling and willing, made the long trek to Nehekhara. Many died in this journey, but enough arrived to satisfy Settra. It was thus, a shame to everyone when Settra learned of an attack on a recently established colony for the living.
