Star City
In the harbor of Star City, a weapons acquisition was going down. But suddenly an arrow landed right in front of the thugs and it exploded knocking out several criminals. One of the guns fell right in front of the leader Brick, he picked it up and looked for the perpetrator. It only took him a second to find him atop the crane, the one and only Speedy.
"You again! I'm startin' to get insulted Green Arrow's not messing up our operations personally." Brick fired the blaster but Speedy quickly dodged it and the others after it. Speedy pulled out another arrow and fired it straight into the barrel of his blaster. The explosion didn't affect Brick but his suit wasn't as fortunate.
"Do you know what I pay for in a suit my size?" The leader explained then turned to his thugs. "Scorch the earth boys."
Before any of them could do anything two were quickly taken out by Kid Flash. The other two were quickly picked up and thrown into a nearby container by none other than Wonder Boy. Another two were quickly disarmed by batarangs, Aqualad then stepped in and finished the two off by electrocuting them.
Brick reached into the ground pulling a big rock off the ground then throwing it at Speedy which he dodged. Speedy then fired another explosive arrow at Brick which did nothing but make him even angrier than before. Brick angrily threw another rock at Speedy but this time Aqualad stepped in and cut it in half.
"The cave is perfect. It has everything the team will need." Aqualad offered Speedy.
Robin then landed behind them. "For covert missions, you know, spy stuff."
"And the base has got great food, rooms, and views." Wonder Boy added floating above them.
"And wait until you meet Superboy, Supergirl, and Miss Martian, but I saw her first." Kid Flash quickly added.
Just then Brick grabbed another chunk of rock then threw it at them. They all dodged the incoming debris, except for Aqualad who shattered it with a water mace. Speedy then fired three arrows at once into Brick all three exploding on contact.
"Tell Arrow he shouldn't send boys to do a man's job." Brick spat as Speedy drew another arrow, "Go ahead." Brick held his hands out waiting for Speedy's shot.
Loosening his grip, Speedy unleashed his arrow, and when it made contact it stuck and unleashed a sticky foam-like substance trapping Brick for good.
"High-density polyurethane foam. Nice." Kid Flash gave respect to his friend.
Wonder Boy landed in front of Brick and pointed his finger at him. "Just for the record we may be boys but we're tougher than we look!" Wonder Boy yelled.
Speedy attempted to leave but he was surrounded by the four.
"So Speedy, you in?" Robin asked, leaning against a container with his arms crossed.
"Pass." Speedy declined. "I'm done letting Arrow and the League tell me what to do. I don't need a babysitter or a clubhouse to hang out with the other kids. Your Junior Justice League is a joke something to keep you busy and in your place. I don't want any part of it." Speedy was dead set on what he said.
"Well, we're here for you. We're friends after all." Wonder Boy waved.
"We're not friends." Speedy said then vanished into the darkness leaving the four of them alone.
"Recognized. Robin, B-0-1. Kid Flash, B-0-3. Wonder Boy, B-0-5." The Zeta tube computer said as the three entered the base. The three then ran to the middle of the room where Aqualad, Miss Martian, and Supergirl were waiting at the monitor.
"Did you ask him?" Robin asked.
"What did he say?" Kid Flash asked as well.
"He's arriving now." Aqualad answered them both.
"Then why are we standing around?" Wonder Boy flew to the entrance. Robin, Kid Flash and Aqualad followed him. Superboy looked over at Miss Martian and Super Girl and they followed the rest.
Outside everyone looked to see Red Tornado arriving at the entrance.
"Red Tornado!"
Red Tornado landed in front of them young heroes. "Greetings, is there a reason you intercept me outside the cave?"
"We hoped you had a mission for us." Aqualad asked.
"Mission assignments are the Batman's responsibility." Red Tornado stated.
"But it's been over a week, and nothing-" Robin was interrupted by Red Tornado, "You'll be tested soon enough. For the time being, simply enjoy each other's company." Red Tornado suggested as the kids became more irritated.
"This team is not a social club." Aqualad added.
"Yeah, Red Tornado we are heroes and it's our responsibility to help those who can't help themselves and we can't do that by being here all day." Wonder Boy said.
"No, but I am told social interaction is an important team-building exercise, and you may be heroes who can help those who can't help themselves, but can you accomplish that as a team?" Red Tornado questioned.
The team exchanged glances for a few moments until Supergirl walked up next to Wonder Boy and said, "We won't know if we don't get the opportunity to."
"I understand you all are eager to prove yourselves but you must be patient, until then perhaps you can familiarize yourselves with the cave." Red Tornado said then walked into the base.
"Keep busy." Kid Flash smacked Robin's chest.
"Does he think we're falling for this?" Robin replied.
"Oh, I'll find out." Miss Martian focused on Red Tornado to try and read his mind. Unfortunately, she was not successful.
"Recognized. Red Tornado, 1-6." The computer called.
Miss Martian sighed, "I-I-I'm sorry. I forgot he's a machine, inorganic. I cannot read his mind."
"Nice try though." Kid Flash assured then walked closer to Miss Martian. "So, uh, you know what I'm thinking right now?
"We all know what you're thinking now." Robin smacked him in the back of his head.
"But he's kinda right, I've never been part of a team. I've only ever fought beside my mentor Wonder Woman." Wonder Boy admitted.
The rest looked at each other and nodded to admit the same thing. None of them had any experience in fighting as a team. Their victory at Cadmus last week was pure luck.
"Hey c'mon guys, we'll learn to be a team." Supergirl's confidence irradiated among the rest of them, "So as a team, what should we do first?"
"We tour the clubhouse," Aqualad answered.
"Well Superboy and I live here, we can play tour guides." Megan offered.
Robin, Supergirl, Wally, and Trevor looked at Superboy but he said. "Don't look at me."
"We won't." Wally replied then looked at Miss Martian. "A private tour sounds more fun."
Trevor kicked Wally in the back of the knee in annoyance. "Knock it off Wally. Group tour, no if, ands, or buts."
"Agreed. Team building, we'll all go." Aqualad stated.
With that, the team walked into the base to explore their new facilities. Robin shoved Wally away from Miss Martian while Trevor kept him further away. Superboy followed with Supergirl close to his left side.
"So this would be the front door." Miss Martian called.
After exploring the area for a bit they arrived at the back of it, "And this would be the back. The cave is actually the entire mountain."
"How is that possible?" Supergirl asked.
Kid Flash explained as they were returning to the main room, "It was hollowed out and reinforced by Superman and Green Lantern in the early days of the league."
"Then why abandon it for the Hall of Justice?" Superboy asked.
"The cave's secret location was compromised." Aqualad answered.
"So they traded it in for a tourist trap? Yeah that makes sense." Superboy replied.
"If villains know about the cave we must be on constant alert." Miss Martian realized.
"The bad guys know we know they know about the place so they'd never think to look here." Robin explained.
"The best way to hide is in plain sight." Wonder Boy clarified.
"Oh that's what you meant, that's much clearer." Miss Martian realized.
Suddenly Superboy caught a whiff of a burning smell. "I smell smoke."
Miss Martian gasped, "My cookies!"
Miss Martian flew straight for the kitchen to find the oven seeping out dark smoke from something burning. She quickly used her telekinesis to open it up then removed the contents then put them on the cabinet.
"I was trying out Grammy Jones recipe from episode seven-teen of… Huh. Nevermind."
"I bet they'd tasted great. They don't seem to mind."
Wally and Supergirl were having a few bites, "I have a serious metabolism." Wally talked with his mouth full.
"You too? Same." Kara said then shoved a burnt cookie into her mouth.
Trevor took a look at the oven and saw what went wrong. "You know if you ever think about cooking something in an oven at a higher temperature as instructed. Don't do that, it never works, trust me."
Kara gave Trevor a curious look. "How do you know that?"
"Oh…um… I used to bake cookies with my mom when I was eight." Trevor embarrassingly admitted.
"Wait, your mom? Who's she?" Wally asked.
"What? How would you not know that?! It's very obvious." Trevor replied. "My mom is Wonder Woman. Look the point is, baking isn't an easy skill, it takes practice and patience."
"Like how we're learning to be a team?" Kara asked.
Trevor snapped his fingers and pointed at her, "Exactly."
"Wow, Supergirl that's deep." Robin added.
"I'll be sure to make more." Miss Martian's confidence rose.
"It was sweet of you to make any." Aqualad complimented.
"Thanks, Aqualad." Miss Martian was happy to hear that.
"We're off duty. Call me Kaldur'ahm. Actually, my friends call me Kaldur." Aqualad introduced himself.
"I'm Wally. See? I already trust you with my secret I.D. Unlike Mr. Dark Glasses over here. Batman's forbidden boy wonder from telling anyone his real name."
"My full name is Steven Trevor Jr. but I prefer to be called Trevor." Wonder Boy introduced himself to everyone, and nodded at Robin's circumstance.
"I'm Kara Zor-El but call me Kara." Kara introduced.
"Mine's no Secret. It's M'gan Moore. But you can call me Megan. It's an earth name and I'm on earth now."
Megan then looked at Superboy as he walked out. "Don't worry Superboy. We'll find you an earth name too." Megan said telepathically.
However when she did that Superboy turned to her with a furious glare, "Get out of my head."
"What's wrong? I-I don't understand." Everyone started struggling with a headache from Megan's telepathy, "Everyone on Mars communicates telepathically."
"Megan, stop. Things are different on Earth." Aqualad addressed.
"Here your powers are an extreme invasion of privacy."
"And you talking in our heads kinda hurts." Wonder Boy said rubbing his head.
"Besides Cadmus' creepy little psychic genomes left a bad taste in his brain." Kid Flash added.
"I-I didn't mean to-"
"Just stay out." Superboy spat angrily, ending the conversation.
"Hello Megan. I know what we can do." Megan flew out of the kitchen, the rest following her. All but Superboy.
"Superboy please." Megan pleaded.
"Don't talk to me." Superboy refused until another arrived to see him,
"Please Superboy, I wanna spend time with you." Kara begged her cousin.
It took Superboy a moment to look back at the two, and he sighed out his anger and stood to follow.
Taking the elevator to the hangar, Megan took the team to show them something amazing, "It's my Martian bioship."
The ship wasn't really a ship, but some spherical device.
"Cute, not aerodynamic, but cute." Wally praised and critiqued.
"It's at rest silly. I'll wake it." Megan held her hand out and the sphere, morphed into a lean and elegant ship. Turning around the ship opened the back entrance, "Well are you coming?"
The rest of the team followed Megan to the interior of the ship, "Strap in for launch." Megan said as seven seats morphed. Robin was the first to take a seat and the seat belt automatically strapped him to the seat. The others then took their seats as well, as soon as eeyone was strapped in Mean contacted Red Tornado.
"Red Tornado, please open Bay Doors." Megan called to which Red Tornado complied. Two control pads morphed in front of Megan.
A moment later the doors opened and as soon as they did the ship took off quickly and silently.
"Incredible." Robin called turning away from the view.
Wally exhaled. "She sure is." Referring to Megan.
Megan quickly turned to his direction, "I-I mean the ship. Which, like all ships, is a she."
"Fast with his feet, not so fast with his mouth." Robin joked.
"Dude!" Wally shouted.
"He's not wrong, sailors and pirates would name their ships after women. Preferably deities." Wonder Boy remarked on a fun fact. "I can even name a few: The Morrigan, the Queen Anne's revenge, Santa Maria, and so many others."
"Oh a history buff, that's cool!" Kara complimented.
"Eh not really Wonder Woman made me read so many history books." Trevor replied. "Many of them were kinda good though."
As Trevor and Kara talked Kaldur noticed Superboy carrying a guilty expression on his face., "I may not have psychic powers, but I can guess what you're thinking." he whispered to Superboy, "You overreacted and you don't know how to apologize. Just say sorry."
Superboy took Kaldur's words in. He couldn't say anything so he just turned away.
Megan looked at Superboy with a sad impression, "He'll come around."
"He hasn't seem to like me much." Megan spoke with the wrong grammar.
"You guys remember he has super hearing right?" Wally mentioned.
"Uh hello." Kara waved then pointed to herself.
"They have super hearing." Trevor corrected.
"Hey, how 'bout showing us a little Martian shape-shifting shapeshifting?"
Megan stood from her seat and morphed into a female version of Robin. She took a spin and suddenly turned into a female version of Kid Flash.
"Is it wrong that I think I'm hot?" Wally asked.
"Uhh, maybe?" Trevor couldn't answer that right.
Megan heard Trevor's reply and turned into a female version of Wonder Boy, and she made Trevor speechless.
"Wow." Kara was astounded.
Robin clapped his hands. "Impressive, but you know you're not exactly gonna fool anyone with those."
"M-M-Mimicking boys is a lot harder," Megan admitted as she took her seat.
"And your clothes?" Kaldur asked.
"They're organic like the ship." Megan explained. "They respond to my mental commands."
"As long as they're the only ones." Superboy said.
Megan looked down ashamed of what she did to Superboy.
"Can you do that ghosting through walls thing Manhunter does?" Wally asked.
"Density shifting?" Megan asked, "No. It-it-it's a very advanced technique."
"Flash can vibrate his molecules right through a wall." Robin chuckled at what he's about to say next, "When he tries it, bloody nose."
"Dude!" Wally lashed while Trevor laughed at his response he then looked at Kara and asked curiously. "So can you use heat vision like Superman, we know Superboy here can't but can you?"
Superboy looked at Trevor with disgust, but then over at Kara. His anger slowly dissipated, and relieved with an exhale of breath.
"Sorry, buddy." Trevor apologized.
"Uh actually I can't use that either, believe me, I've tried. Guess I'm just too young to use them but I'm not really sure. So that's one thing we have in common, right?" Kara asked Superboy.
Superboy gave a small smile at his cousin.
"Hey, here's something I can do." Megan smiled, while turning her ship invisible, "Camouflage mode."
Suddenly Megan received a radio transmission from Red Tornado, "Red Tornado to Miss Martian. An emergency alert has been triggered at the Happy Harbor power plant. I suggest you investigate covertly. I'm sending coordinates." Red Tornado sent the kids the location.
"Received, adjusting course." Megan called.
"Tornado's keeping us busy again." Robin stated.
"Who cares as long as we get the chance to fight something." Trevor said, eager to start proving himself.
"We can do this, we have two Kryptonians in our team!" Kara cheered with her fists up.
"Uhh, Superboy's-" Wally was about to lay down the truth but Trevor shut his mouth before he could finish that sentence, "Wally! Two Kryptonians, we got this in the bag!"
"We should find out what caused the alert." Megan suggested.
Superboy caught notice of something. "I think I know the cause."
"Oh no." Kara said, taking a look out the window to see a raging tornado.
Megan was about to take off away from the Tornado but they were already caught in the center. The bioship spun around inside the tornado, but Megan managed to pull the bioship out. Megan then landed the ship in the Parking lot and the team deployed. They saw the tornado ravaging the factory as the people ran to escape the twister.
"Robin are tornadoes common in New England?" Kaldur asked turning to him. Which to everyone's surprise, he's gone, again. "Robin?"
"You know that's gonna start getting annoying real soon." Trevor commented on Robin's constant disappearances.
"How did he do that?" Kara asked.
"He's trained by Batman." Trevor stated.
The team caught up with Robin to find him fighting some kind of robot inside the factory. Superboy and Trevor landed next to Robin.
"Who's your new friend?" Superboy asked.
"Didn't catch his name but he plays kinda rough." Robin said as they charged the machine.
"My apologies. you may address me as Mr. Twister." The machine introduced himself and then released two massive wind currents from his hands straight at Superboy and Trevor. The winds were so strong that they sent them both crashing into the wall.
Kara, Megan looked over at the two when they landed, they turned away to see Wally put on his goggles and Robin getting back up. Kaldur looked over at Megan and gave them a nod. With that Wally, Megan, Kaldur, and Kara all charged at Mr. Twister.
Wally attacked with a speeding double kick only for it to do nothing, Twister swatted Wally out of the building. Kara, Kaldur and Megan all charged him at once but he easily blew them all away, knocking them all out. Robin was the only one left standing now.
"I was prepared to be challenged by a superhero, I was not however expecting children." Twister insulted, as Robin reached for some batarangs behind his back
"We're not children!" Robin threw a couple of explosive batarangs. The first one stopped in the wind and the second one pierced his armor but he swatted it off like a bug before it exploded.
"Objectively you are. Have you no adult supervision? I find your presence here quite disturbing." Mr. Twister looked back over at the kids who have all quickly recovered.
"Well we hate to see you disturbed. Let's see if you're more turbed once we kick your can." Robin called.
Megan opened the canister above with her mind and released hot steam above Twister. The chance gave Superboy a window to strike next. The steam however did not give him enough time to attack so Twister blew Superboy into a beam and fell atop Megan.
Robin and Kaldur ran right passed them to get a shot at Twister. They pulled their gear, but Twister fired at the ground and managed to trap them in his tornados to smack them together. Using the distraction Trevor and Kara tried to attack from behind but Twister easily noticed them. "Nice try kids, but not good enough."
Twister blew them away into the walls again.
The fight was over and all the members of the team laid on the ground defeated. "That was quite turbing. Thank you."
Twister then took his leave as all the team got back up.
Outside Wally recovered, he sat up and rubbed the back of his head groaning. He looked to see Twister leaving the factory. Wasting no time Wally got up and sped over to him to confront him.
"What have you done to my team?" Wally demanded to know.
"Embarrassed them, largely." Twister answered then blew Wally over to the factory wall.
"I got you Wally." Wally found himself floating of the ground, thanks to Megan.
"Whoa thanks." Wally praised.
"I would've thought you would have all learned your limits by now." Twister boasted.
"What do you want!" Kaldur yelled.
"Isn't it obvious? I'm waiting for a real hero." Twister spoke the truth.
"Read his mind. Find a weakness."
"I thought I wasn't supposed to do that."
"It's okay with the bad guys!" Robin yelled.
Putting two fingers to her temple, Megan concentrated her mind in Twisters head, but there was no response, "Nothing I'm getting nothing." just like someone she tried to reach today.
"Hello Megan," she smiled, "Mr. Twister is Red Tornado in disguise. He's inorganic, an Android. And how many androids do you know that can generate tornados?"
Trevor stood for a moment and looked back at the parking lot, and all the collateral. If this were a test from the League, it's not a safe one. He's not buying that idea. If this were an actual training exercise all this damage would take place in a safer place like abandoned areas.
"I'm not buying that, Megan, we can't let our guard down." Trevor thought, hoping maybe Megan will hear but his warning was left unheard.
"Red Tornado sent us here." Kaldur saw the connection.
"After saying we'd be tested soon enough. This is his test, something to keep us busy." Robin yelled.
"Speedy called it we're a joke." Wally said.
"Guys I don't think this is a test." Trevor advised, but all of them started approaching Twister.
"This game is over." Wally called out.
Beside Treavor, Kara was about with the rest, but he held her back by gripping her shoulder, "Don't." Trevor and Kara looked at the rest.
"We know who you are and what you want." Robin pointed.
"So let's end this." Kaldur threw his hands down.
"Consider it ended." Twister raised his hands and brought in darker tornados.
"Get back now! Everyone!" Trevor shouted but nobody listened to him.
"An impressive show, but we will not indulge you, we will not engage."
"OH FOR THE SAKE THE OF THE GODS THEMSELVES!" Trevor flew over to his friends and backed them away from Twister.
Shortly after getting everyone away, Twister's dark clouds started emitting lightning till they realized that he created thunderclouds.
"Uh can Red Tornado do that?" Wally asked, nervously.
"No… No he cannot." Kara answered.
"You think I'm Tornado? Ironic." Twister replied to the team.
Twister struck the ground with a heavy bolt of lightning creating a massive explosion sending the entire team to the ground. The Entire team was on the ground except for Superboy and Kara.
Ripping off what's left of his jacket, Superboy and Kara jumped up to defend their friends. Both of them were unable to reach Twister after having them zapped by his two wrist blasters.
Superboy and Kara landed hard into the ground where they left two craters.
With the entire team down Twister floated down to finish them off, but Megan was the first to come up conscious. As Twister was approaching, Megan covered her and the rest of their team with her cloaked bioship.
"Fine, then. I won't deny you children have power." Twister boasted.
Wally groaned but Megan kept him quiet by covering his mouth. "But playing hide and seek with you would not help me achieve my objectives. So stay concealed. If you confront me again, I will show no mercy."
Twister took his leave and floated for the town.
"What happened?" Wally asked.
"I placed the bioship between us." Megan answered, and quickly after Superboy punched a rock in front of him a few times.
"And that's supposed to make it right? You tricked us into thinking Twister was Red Tornado." Superboy walked up.
"Not all of us, speaking of which." Wonder Boy then slapped Wally, Kaldur, and Robin in frustration, "Were you guys even listening to me? If this were a training excersise why would there be so much collateral damage and in the public. Robin, aren't you supposed to be a detective?"
"Ooh, that twelve year old got you good, Robin." Wally called out the burn.
"And Superboy she didn't do it on purpose." Kaldur called back to Superboy.
"It, it was a rookie mistake. We shouldn't have listened." Robin explained.
Wally looked over at Megan, "You are pretty inexperienced." Wally excused, "Hit the showers, we'll take it from here." Wally suggested.
"I'm sorry what?" Kara asked, "We're supposed to be a team here. One of us loses, we all lose, and if we're going to single out the Martian then you can go get him without me too." Kara huffed.
"Fine, then both of you stay out of our way." Superboy glared at them.
That attitude even made Kara shiver for a moment.
"Trevor, what do you think?" Supergirl asked hoping he would back them up.
"Trevor? Twister's not going to stop itself, c'mon." Wally called.
"Alright, I'm coming." Trevor gave one look at Kara and Megan, "Team or no team, we can't just leave Twister wreaking havoc. I'm sorry." Trevor then flew to join the others leaving the two on their own.
"I was just trying to be a part of the Team." Megan said, depressed.
"To be honest, I'm not really sure we even have a team." Said Kaldur, rubbing the back of his head then ran to follow the others."
"Rao give me… Rao give us strength." Kara sat in defeat, seeing that look on his cousin's face scarred her thoughts. Megan put a hand on the little Kryptonians shoulder and gave her a smile.
"Let's go." Megan picked herself up along with Kara.
Twister wreaked havoc in the harbor picking boats out of the water and throwing them into the town. Car alarms rang like a choir as they fell to the ground with the boats. Twisters shot through to the building sending them shattered where they stood. Civilians running away from the calamity.
"Certainly this will get the required attention." Twister called out.
"You got ours, full and undivided!" Wally ran over to him. This time, he landed a solid kick on the machine.
"Immaterial and insufficient! You are a distraction I can no longer tolerate."
From above Trevor flew down and delivered a swift punch to Twister's head. Superboy followed with a drop but Twister was able to dodge this time given his screaming.
Facing all three kids, Twister summoned two twisters.
Megan and Kara were on their way back to the base by Bioship, contacting Red Tornado. "The team really needs your help."
"If I intervened, it would not be to help. Still an odd coincidence that this Twister shares my elemental abilities, and my immunity to telepathy." Red Tornado explained which gave Megan a spark in her head.
"Hello, Megan." She slapped herself in the head, smiled and turned the ship around.
"Do you have an idea?" Kara asked.
"I do, but I'll need you to go assist the team before me." Megan insisted.
"Okay!" Kara smiled with confidence, and she dropped out of the ship and flew straight to the boys.
The boys weren't doing so well against Mr. Twister despite their powers Twister kept pushing them away before they could even touch him.
Robin and Kaldur jumped over a car. They managed to dodge the first wave of tornados but Kaldur wasn't as lucky. Twister threw him with another gust and over into a building's second story.
Wally raced over to him, but Twister managed to catch him and throw him over. He quickly caught himself and raced away from him.
Robin threw more explosives but Twister just blew them away constantly. With the distraction Robin gave, Superboy had a chance to lay a punch on him. Which he quickly dodged and threw Superboy into the same building as Kaldur. Twister held a boat with a cyclone beneath the water, and was going to drop it on the two, but Trevor managed to catch the ship and slam it on top of Twister himself. Which only seemed to make him angrier.
"You are obsolete!" Twister was prepared to fire another laser beam at Trevor, but he was pushed away thanks to Kara.
"What are you doing?" Trevor asked.
"This team needs a girl's touch!" Kara pounded her fists together.
Observing the fight from a distance, Robin and Wally watched as Kaldur threw a boat motor at Twister.
Wally turned around to see Robin pull out his utility belt, and asked "You brought your utility belt?"
"Never leave home without it. First thing Batman taught me." Robin called.
"Yeah, right after never go to the bathroom without it." Wally replied before Megan called to them via telepathy.
'Listen to me. All of you.' Like before Megan's telepathic communication gave them all a serious headache.
"What did we tell you?" Superboy spat.
'I know and I know I messed up but now I'm clear on what we need to do. Please trust me.' Megan said.
Trevor looked at Kara, 'Alright Megan, what's the plan?' Kara asked.
"Get back, everyone clear the area." The local police officer ordered.
A few civilians were about to run for their lives until one of them spited Red Tornado arriving.
Arriving at the scene, Twister noticed the Android he's heard about from the kids, "Hit the showers kids. I was hoping you could handle this. Clearly you cannot."
"But we got a plan now." Robin argued.
"The subject is not up for debate." Red Tornado raised his voice and the kids left the scene in shame.
"I was beginning to believe you'd never show up." Twister called.
"I'm here now." Red Tornado called a tornado to his side and threw it at Twister. Twister dodged the attack and combined his Tornado with one of his own, but that gave Red Tornado the chance to bring a bigger tornado to his side and cancel it out.
"We are evenly matched, Twister." Red Tornado called the wind to throw rocks from behind him.
"No Tornado, we are not." Twister replied and while blocking the rocks with the wind. Pulling out his lasers he shot Red Tornado but missing so he followed him till he blew up a wrecked ship that was on fire. The explosion caught Red Tornado off guard and sent him flying and in sparks.
"Remain still, android." Twister then revealed wires in his fingertips then connected them into Red Tornado's head, "The reprogramming won't take long."
To his surprise, Red Tornado removed the wires from his head and turned to face Twister with a new face, "Longer than you might think." Megan took the form of Red Tornado.
"No." Twister was surprised.
Megan pushed Twister away with a telepathic push to be met with a Tornado made by Wally. He threw him over to Superboy and Kara as they tag teamed their beat down on Twister. Superboy held Twister in an arm lock while Supergirl beat him down and pulled off his arm. Superboy returned the favor by removing his other arm. Trevor finalized the submission with a hard and fast double kick to the chest, and into the water.
While in the water, Kaldur was waiting for him and with an anchor from one of the ships. Charging his eel teeth, he shocked Twister out of the water, back in the air and crashing in the ground.
Megan hauled him up in the air with her mind and shot him a telekinetic blast which shattered his armor while Robin threw what's left of his explosives. Sending the decommissioned Twister to the scrap pile.
All seven heroes walked up to what's left of Twister to find a scrawny little man jumping out of Twister, "Uh foul, I-I call foul."
Megan looked down on him and hauled over a big boulder, "M'gann no!" Kaldur tried to stop Megan, but she already sent the Boulder to crush the pilot of Twister.
All of the team was shocked to Megan's sudden move.
"By the gods, she killed him." Trevor said horrified.
Robin moved in on her with fury on his mind.
"Don't know how things are done on Mars but on earth we don't execute our captives!" Robin called Megan who was enraged.
"You said you trust me." Megan smiled as she moved the boulder to reveal the man to be another android, "That's why I couldn't read his mind."
After seeing that it was clearly an android the team was relieved.
Wally knelt down to pick up the android's incapacitated eyeball, "Cool, souvenir." Wally tossed the eye in the air into his grip.
"We should've had more faith in you." Kaldur walked up to Megan, placing his hand on her shoulder.
"And me." Supergirl stepped in.
"Most of us." Trevor added, placing a hand on Supergirl's shoulder.
"Yeah you rocked this mission. Get it? Rocked." Wally made an awful pun.
"Ignore him were all just turbed you're on this team."
With the fight ended the team collected the remains of the android and took it back to base for analysis.
"It was clearly created to sabotage or destroy you." Kaldur informed Red Tornado.
"Agreed."
"Is that why you wouldn't help us?" Megan asked.
"No this was your battle. I do not believe it is my role to solve your problems for you. Nor should you solve mine for me."
The team all looked at Red Tornado.
"Uh - But if you're in danger-" Megan asked but was stopped by Red Tornado.
"Consider this matter, closed." Red Tornado drew the line and walked away.
"Superman, Batman, Aquaman, Flash and Wonder Woman would've jumped right in and fix everything." Wally spoke the truth.
"True. Though it was nice to figure this out ourselves." Trevor realized.
"Guess if we're gonna have a babysitter a heartless machine is exactly what we need." Robin pointed out.
"Dude! Harsh." Wally argued.
"And inaccurate, I have a heart, carbon-steel alloy. I also have excellent hearing."
Robin chuckled in embarrassment, "Right, sorry I'll strive to be more accurate."
"And more respectful." Aqualad put a hand over Robin's shoulder.
Red Tornado resumed his way down the hall.
"Hey Wally, is it safe to keep that eyeball in the trophy room?" Kara asked.
"Don't worry it'll be fine." Wally assured Kara as he and the others took their leave.
"Speedy was so wrong." Trevor said.
"This team thing-" Robin allowed someone else to finish.
"Might just work out." Kaldur finished as the group left the base.
Superboy was about to join the rest until he noticed Megan still in the room. She stared at him in silence, no telepathy, only one word filled the room, "Sorry." Superboy finally apologized.
Turning his way to the rest he bumped into Kara looking up at him. He smiled and patted her head, "You got a mean punch… Kara."
"Yeah you too, cousin." Kara walked beside his cousin, "Hey you wanna get something to eat?"
"I don't see why not." Superboy accepted the offer.
The Watchtower
Above the worries of the people, high in space, the Justice League watch from their orbiting Watchtower.
Two individuals, in particular, look down on the planet.
"I'm glad Kara is doing okay with the team." Superman said to Batman.
"She seems to be getting along with Superboy." Batman added.
"Good to hear." Superman said nothing more after that.
"You're not going to mention Superboy?" Batman asked.
"He's doing fine where he's at, that's all that matters." Superman flew away from the conversation.
Just after, Wonder Woman arrived to talk with Batman, "Everything okay?" He asked.
"It's become tolerable, the idea my son is with a team he can relate to. Still, how's the rest? Anything from Superman's cousin, and his son?" Wonder Woman asked, crossing her arms.
"Not yet, but Clark avoiding Superboy worries me. For now we keep things as they are." Batman suggested as he took his leave.
Wonder Woman looked down at the earth, and smiled, "My son is going places. Proud of you Trevor Jr." She spoke to herself.
