Like how Kiritsugu had to deal with a lot of Deus Ex machina situations throughout the night, it was only natural that he would have one for himself as El-Melloi mercury monster erupted before them, because some shot an arrow at high speed.
"What the hell" said El Melloi as he turned his head to see a familiar red coat archer standing about 50 yards away, as he began to put away his bow.
"Archer" said Kiritsugu as he felt his bondage from El-Melloi was free as he fell back into a pair of familiar arms.
"Shirou!" exclaimed Kiritsugu, "Hey dad, long time no see" greeted Shirou with a smile.
"Who the hell are you" demanded El-Melloi, "Surely someone you should remember" said Saber as she snuck up behind El-Melloi before smacking him out of the way.
"Saber, Shirou, what's going on" asked Kiritsugu, "We've all been hired here to serve as back up in case you couldn't stop Kotomine in time" said Shirou.
"We" asked Kiritsugu, "Yeah, us and some of the other masters and servants have came together in order to stop Kotomine again" said Shirou as if on cue explosions were heard and sounds of metal could be heard clashing against one another.
"There's a lot I don't understand, but… I'm glad to see you again son" said Kiritsugu as he felt the sharp tip of Saber's blade under his chin.
"Don't get me wrong, I'm willing to set aside my grievances with you for one more night if it means saving the world, but know that you and I aren't ever going to be getting along any time soon" said Saber.
"Saber" exclaimed Shirou as he was appalled she'd confront Kiritsugu about this literally before the fight began.
Before they could have an argument, Saber turned around and with one forward slash, destroyed El-Melloi's mercury monster again as the man began to back away.
"This isn't fair, I have every right to kill this man, and yet here you stand once more fighting by your masters side again, ready to kill me" said El-Melloi as he glared at them.
"I'm not here fighting by my masters side, I'm here fighting by my husbands side" said Saber, "You mean to tell me the King of Knights chose to settle down with this honor less, merciless hitman" spat El-Melloi.
"You're mistaken, I'm married with his son, right here" said Saber as she went and reached for Shirou's hand.
"Damn you Emiya Kiritsugu, I don't know how you managed to revive your servant, or set any of this up, but I shall not die here in shame again" said El-Melloi.
"He didn't set this up, I did" said the voice of the man who had arrange for all of this, as he stood tall and brave wearing a clean and sharp set of black pants and button up shirt as he wore brown blazer over it, and black gloves, a long red scarf he left down and open as he had a familiar sharp chin and long straight black hair.
"Who the hell are you" said El-Melloi, "Really sensei, did you forgot about me now" said Waver as he pulled out a cigar from his blazer and began to light it.
"Lord El-Melloi, what are you doing here sir" asked Saber, "I came here to help like you guys, and maybe talk some sense into an old friend of mine to switch sides and aid us" said Waver as he looked down on his former professor as he let out a long drag of smoke from his mouth.
"Oh how the mighty have fallen, you a man who was the cock of the walk amongst the magus community now stands there defeated, but this time you can bare witness how your former student, the one whom you deemed his beliefs to be nonsense and an utter failure to the world of mage craft, having risen above not only you as a teacher for my practices and beliefs, but also with your name and title till your niece comes of age, and even then I still might be called Lord El-Melloi long after" said Waver with a shit eating smile.
"Waver you little shit, you pathetic little worm, you… bastard, I will not die here today and let some dead last student of mine sully the El-Melloi family name" said EL-Melloi as he was losing his composure more and more by the second.
"Oh, but you see, I've actually done quite the opposite, in fact many would consider me a worthy successor, should I chose to accept your nieces marriage proposal, but even if I didn't my actions and teaching will leave my mark in history, while you'll be forgotten" said Waver.
"Damn you!" shouted El-Melloi as he gathered the mercury around him to attempt to skewer Waver, but stopped at mere inches.
"Is that a sword in your chest, or are you just happy to see me" said Waver as the mercury in front of him fell back on the ground as everyone saw that a girl wearing heavy hooded clothes was the one holding a sword that pierced through El-Melloi's chest.
"And by the way, you sucked as a professor" said Waver, before his assistant pulled the sword out of El-Melloi's chest as he fell to the ground dead once more in a pool of his own blood.
"Well that was quite the reunion. Good job there Gray" said Waver, "Thank you Lord El-Melloi" said Gray as she began to sheath away her sword as her voice was definitely forced to be deep and her face was hidden, and yet even besides all this, Saber felt a very strong connection to the girl.
"Well, let's not stand around here, the world isn't going to save itself now" said Waver, "Lord El-Melloi, why did you set me up with this job, why get my family involved, just… why" asked Kiritsugu as Waver stood there for a minute before turning to address the man.
"Alright, I'll be quick about it, so listen and don't speak" said Waver as he tossed his cigar aside.
"Your son and his friends came to approach me and filled me in on how he had revived not only the previous masters and servants from the last Holy Grail War, but one of the masters were hell bent on getting revenge and desperately sought to revive Kotomine with great success" began Waver.
"After surviving an attack from the man, they, along with some of my own best men had kept tabs on their activities, and it wasn't until I found them both stealing from my personal estate with the only living memento of an old friend of mine did I figured out they were planning to revive the masters and servants from the Holy Grail War you and I had participated in, so I've contacted your son, he suggested that we set up for a counter attack if his plan goes well, but first suggested that I hire you in killing him before we get involved" said Waver.
"Now that' we're all caught up, I've got a friend to save, and I wish you all luck once the smoke clears out. Gray let's go" said Waver, "Yes my lord" said Gray.
"Saber is everything alright" asked Shirou as he notice how Shirou had been staring at Gray since she made herself present, "Yes, I'm fine dear, there's nothing to worry about" said Saber.
"Good, cause something tells me our friends are going to need some help" said Shirou, "No shit Sherlock, question is how do you want us to do this" asked Archer, "I'll go off and aid Heracles, something tells me there's still a lingering chance of hope to aid Lancelot in regaining his senses" said Saber.
"And I'm off to help out Caster and Soichirou take on that blue beard bastard, he seems to be fixated on you Saber" said Archer as he began to head off before saying another word.
"Guess it'll be you and me taking on Kotomine again dad" said Shirou with a smile of confidence as Kiritsugu looked back and smiled back at his son with new found pride.
"Don't count on it" said Shinji as he stood in front of the Emiya males as insects buzzed and crawled around him.
"We've come this far to let you or anyone to stop us from claiming back what's ours Shirou, and I'll be damned before you even think about undoing any of the things we've done so far" said Shinji.
"Shinji, I will ask you once more to stand aside and fight by our side, it's not to late to redeem yourself and realize the errors of your actions and those made by your ancestors, please Shinji, I'm your friend" said Shirou trying to reason with the stark raving mad magus.
"Friends with you, a loser who somehow managed to get revered as the hero amongst the mage association, who had gone and deliberately destroyed my families greatest legacy, like your father over there, fat chance" said Shinji.
"Son, not to slap you awake, but you're friend there has gone way far over the edge, and I think it be unwise to show him any acts of mercy moving further, less you want him to start over and repeat things again like those villains depicted in those American comic books" said Kiritsugu.
"I know dad, I should have learned that a long time ago and listened to you during that job we did together" said Shirou as he had reflected and grown since their last interaction.
"Son…" said Kiritsugu as he was proud how his son managed to finally grow up at long last.
"Which is why I'm choosing to stay here and fight him, he's my responsibility as to why we're here, I'll distract him and you finish off Kotomine" said Shirou as he summoned his pair of short swords.
"Oh, you have no idea how I've dreamed of this day to happened" said Shinji as he allowed Kiritsugu to slip by him as he and Shirou walked around and circled each other for a minute before Shirou ran in for the attack.
Instantly a wall of insects erupted between them as Shinji launched his tendril fingers to pierce Shirou, but Shirou had ducked back and using both hands, had swung and managed to chop off one of his tendril fingers off.
"Ah, you son of a bitch" hissed Shinji as he retracted his fingers back and gripped the bleeding stump as Shirou popped out and started charging towards him again.
Using his insects to start swarming over and attacked him, Shirou swung his blades with speed as he wasn't going to be deterred from killing Shinji once and for all.
Now in a panic, Shinji could only summon his mantis forearm from out his body again to block the killing blow when Shirou lifted his swords to slice him in half, as he managed to lodged them in place.
With one mighty tug, Shinji had sent Shirou rolling without his weapons as he began to remove them from his forearms.
"Let's see what you got now that you've weaponless" said Shinji with a smug smile as unknown to him Shirou had already began to trace himself a new set of short swords.
"You've got to be kidding me" jeered Shinji, "Hey you've got an endless number of insects at your disposal, makes sense I've got an endless source of blades as well" said Shirou smugly.
"You can summon all the swords you want, your power stands nothing against mine, a pure bread and reputable mage" said Shinji as he had another forearm popped on the other side of his neck, before charging in for their fight.
As Shirou clashed and tossed his blades, Shinji would use his forearms to take on the attack of the blades, when not summoning insects or using his tendril fingers to attack him.
Eventually Shinji got the better of Shirou when he managed to time the right moment when Shirou wouldn't have access to any swords, before using his tendril fingers to not only ensnare but also seep it's way around his entire left arm like a sowing needle.
"This is the end game Shirou, you're down one arm and have no means to escape" said Shinji with a villainous laugh as he began to constrict and pull his other arm behind his back as he began to ready to rip his head off with his pincers.
"And once I'm done with you, I'm going after your father, than Saber, and everyone else here who's trying to stop us, and once we're done, I'll make a personal visit in paying your family a visit back home, especially your little sisters, starting with the youngest one" said Shinji as Shirou glared at him with new found fire in his eyes.
"Any last words" asked Shinji mockingly as Shirou now had no more patient or mercy for the man who once called a friend, but now see's he's a little monster and a coward who was a cancer to this world, that only Shirou could see him be killed by his own hands.
"Fuck You!" exclaimed Shirou as the sound of gun shots can be heard behind him, as Shinji began to cry out in pain.
Removing whatever bits of flesh he had left on his tendrils, Shirou pulled out a Desert Eagle he had kept hidden from his back pocket, before shooting and crippling Shinji's mantis forearms.
"What the hell, you don't use guns, you never used guns" shouted Shinji as he now stood at the mercy of his executioner.
"What can I say, I am my old man's son at the end of the day, plus I promised mom back at home to use this only as a means of a very threatening and dangerous situation, and I consider you planning to kill my family a justifiable reason" said Shirou as he pointed his gun at Shinji.
"Goodbye Shinji and on behalf of everyone, go to hell" said Shirou as he began to pull the trigger rapidly as fast as he could, but Shinji had summoned a wall of insects to protect himself, before his set of dragon fly wings popped out from his back.
Taking to the skies, Shirou tried his hardest to shoot him down, but shortly found it to be pointless as Shinji began to turn back as a large pointy and venomous stinger popped from his abdomen.
"Shirou, you won't get to kill me again this time" cried Shinji as he finally gone mad as tears ran down his face as he continued to fly towards his long time rival.
Tossing the handgun aside, Shirou used his free hand in order to summon the one sword that'll ensure his victory as a copy of Excalibur manifested itself in his hands.
It's over Shinji, thought Shirou before he timed himself to side step away from Shinji as he swung his sword down and the deluded young man in half.
Not taking any chances, Shirou had long since planned for this confrontation and aftermath as he pulled a phosphorus grenade from his body and tossing it over Shinji as to not take any chances in case he some how came out of this one alive.
I did it father, I did what you told me to, now the rest is all up to us, thought Shirou as he bent down to pick up and holster away his gun as he began to race to catch up with his father since he knew tonight was the night to not only prove his father right as to what he had tried to teach him, but also ensuring they finally go home to the family that's waiting for them patiently.
And we're going to end things from here, I know it's been a while, but honestly I had to sit down and revise this whole chapter about 3 times in order to get it right, before settling on this, which I hope you guys do enjoy, if not I apologize but I will be moving on from what I just laid within the foundry.
So until next time, please be safe, be good people and please support your local fandom communities.
