It wasn't the prettiest RV's, it wasn't the cleanest RV's, heck an argument could be made that it didn't qualify as a deathtrap. Let alone an RV!

But to Albert Loud(AKA Hop-Pop), it was a beautiful sight for sore eyes!

"Hello old girl...Daddy's missed you." Said Hop-Pop with a melancholy smile as he drove 'The Rust Bucket' out of the storage facility and out on the open road for the first time in thirty years!

Hop-Pop sighed, 'A shame this couldn't be a more happy occasion...' He thinks to himself as he looks at his depressed Grandson Lincoln Loud in the rear view mirror...

Hop-Pop shook his head sadly, 'Dang it Rita, how could you do that to your own son? I thought I raised you better then that...'

He then becomes resolute, 'Well that's what this whole summer roadtrip is about. Help him have fun...and hopefully help him move on with his life...'

Lincoln slumped in his seat as he sighed, "I can't believe my whole family got thrown in jail(1)..."

"Of course they got thrown in jail! They kicked you out the house and treated you like a dog! They SOLD your stuff for crying out loud!" Shouts his 'friend' Ronnie Anne.

Hop-Pop smiled, 'Well, at least I won't be at this alone...'

Lincoln frowned, "But none of this wouldn't have happened if I hadn't lie-

"Are you kidding me Lame-O?! You-

"Ronnie! Come on, be cool! This a big adjustment for him. I mean I agree with you, but it's his FAMILY were talking about here." Defended Lincoln's other friend Clyde Mcbride.

Ronnie sighs, but realizes he's right...so takes a deep breath and tries again.

"Look, let's just get this out of the way...YES you shouldn't have lied. But you ADMITTED you lied! And they STILL wouldn't let you back into YOUR house! And honestly, can you really be blamed for lying to be away from your family? Your own sister threatened you with a BAT- a BAT! -And still she had to gall to blame you for losing a game she FORCED you to attend!"

Ronnie shakes her head, "I just don't get you Lincoln...after all that they force you to wear a SQUIRREL costume in the BLISTERING sun...yet it feels like that had it not been my mom seeing you outside during her 'visits' and reporting it to the police, you would've just forgiven them for their horrible behavior and let them get way with it!"

"Well...of course I would've!" Exclaimed Lincoln sharply. "Their my family! Shouldn't I love and forgive them no matter what?"

Now it was Hop-Pop's turn to sigh, he began to speak while gazing at Lincoln through the mirror. "Okay Lincoln; TWO things: One, I'm proud to see how much of loving, kind, forgiving person you are..." "Thank you Hop-Pop." Said Lincoln as his two friends just look at him incredulous. "Now that being said...number 2: that is the STUPIDEST thing I've ever heard." Finished Hop-Pop flatly."

"What?" Asked Lincoln surprised and maybe a little hurt...

Hop-Pop gave him a firm look, "Lincoln...family are like people...there all different. There are good ones, okay, one's bad one's and horrible one's...but one thing that's universal is that for any family to work...ALL love NEEDS to go BOTH ways."

Seeing he was still confused...he explained again, "Look Lincoln 'The Rust Bucket' here might have a GREAT front...but without it's backside, it be impossible to drive. My point is...any loyalty or love that goes only ONE way...is about is useful as half an RV...half a bridge...half a skateboard...Half a nutcracker..." He ticks off...

"Yeah, okay. We get it." Interrupts Ronnie, she turns back to Lincoln. "Look Lincoln...it's great you love your family and everything...but what about their love to YOU? Where was the love when they kicked you out? Where was their loyalty when they treated you like a plague just because you 'might' have had bad luck. Where was their forgiveness when you told the truth?"

Lincoln...was starting to cry...the things she were saying hurt SO much!...but that didn't make them any less true...

Lincoln tried to string a sentence together, "But...I mean...they...I..." He turned to his grandfather, "Hop-Pop, come on. Shirly you'd forgive them, their FAMILY."

It was a grave Hop-Pop that shook his sad, weary head... "No, boy...any people that would do that ANY kid- let alone you! -is no family of mine!" He sighed, "I haven't even visited Rita in prison...I can't even look at her right now..." He says in resigned shame...

"Hop-Pop..." Said Lincoln in a tone both surprised, flattered and hurt...but more confused then anything...

...

Eventually they come to their first stop: A campsite. They try to get Lincoln's spirit's up. But Lincoln just wasn't into it...and soon decides to go for a walk through the woods...

Deciding to let him have his space, his two friends stay behind to eat marshmallows and gaze at the star and start to talk...

After what had happened to Lincoln, it had been pretty easy to convince their parents to let them go on this cross-country trip to help their white-haired friend through these dark times...

Of course, he wasn't the only one with issues to work through...

"So...Lori is seriously working at your family's store?" Asked Clyde.

Ronnie sighed, but nodded. "Between my Grandma Rosa pulling some strings and her carrying my nephew, yeah. She's now on work-release for that..."

Ronnie had mixed feelings on that...on the one hand it be great to be an aunt...but on the other hand she wasn't thrilled with Lori being related to them...but on the other, OTHER hand if not for her dumb brother falling to temptation and knocking her up(2)...her mother never would've visited her for a check-up that fateful day they'd kicked Lincoln out...and the Loud's would've gotten away with treating HER Lame-O like crap!

Clyde gave a sad, longing sigh...

Ronnie got mad, "Oh for crying out loud Clyde! Are you still seriously mooning over her after-

"What! No! Come on! Give me some credit here! No way I could ever love someone who could do something that horrible to my best friend!" He snaps angrily...before sighing once more. "It's just...I obsessed over her for so long...made her the center of my universe...not going to lie...I feel kinda lost myself..." He admits somberly.

Ronnie looks at him sympathetically. "Oh...okay...I guess that makes sense." She groans, "I'm sorry for snapping...it's just...I just don't get it! I said it once, I'll say it again: If it weren't for my mom reporting it to the police, Lincoln would've just accepted their crap and let them get away with it!" She grumbles, "why dose he have to be such a loving, forgiving, nice, IDIOT!" She snarls that last bit.

"Well...if he weren't...then he wouldn't be Lincoln, would he?" Pointed out Clyde.

Ronnie was snapped from her anger...and looked thoughtful. "Yeah...I guess your right." She said flatly, the realization that those same quirks that made him such a doormat to his family...was what also made him such a good person...hitting her like a sack of hammers...after all, he forgave HER for being such a bully to him, didn't he?

"This suck..." She moans sadly...

Seeing his (indirect)friend getting depressed, Clyde desperately tried to to find something- ANYTHING -to take their minds off this rather gloomy subject-matter...

And then he saw it...

"Hey look! A shooting Star! Quick! Make a wish Ronnie!"

Ronnie looks up startled, but sure enough. There was a shooting star...

Quickly she closed her eyes and put her hands together as if in prayer...

'Please...just...help us through this...i wish for some way to help my best friend through this dark time...' She thinks to herself as she looks up and see the star gleaming-

BOOM!

-Before it crashed in the woods...

The explosion is so great, it knocks the two kids over...

"What the what!?" Shouts Ronnie shocked.

"Wait, that's where Lincoln went walking!" Shouts Clyde in horrified realization!

Both kids immediately jumped up and ran to find their friend!

"Wait! Kids! Hold on!" Shouts Hop-Pop, but unfortunately, the explosion knocked him into a china hutch and he was stuck and helpless to do anything but watch as the two kids ran deeper toward the impact site...

FWOOM!

Which was now on fire...

GAH!

I'M ON FIRE!

As was a a person?!

Indeed, Ronnie and Clyde quickly threw themselves to the sides, as a 'man' covered in flames ran screaming from the forest!

The two looked at him as he seemed to set fire to everything he got near!

'Wait a minute.' Thought Clyde as he looked closer. The man wasn't ON fire, he was-

""Is that...magma?" He asked out loud...

Ronnie blinked in confusion at his words...but as she also squinted. She realized he was right! Th 'man'...wasn't a man at all! Rather some man-like thing made of magma!

It was at that point, Hop-Pop broke free. Saw the situation as many other campsites were torched and the rest of the campers ran away screaming.

He quickly ran up to the panicking creature and tried to calm him down.

"Stop! Stop! Calm down!"

"Hop-Pop! Help me! I'M ON FIRE!" The person

The two kids an the one elderly man did a double-take... "Lincoln!?" They shouted shocked.

Suddenly, there was this weird noise, a flash of green light. And right where the 'fire man' had been...

"I-I'm me! I'm me again! I'm not on fire! Can you see me!" Shouted the newly restored Lincoln Loud in excited relief.

It was almost comical how everyone's faces changed from terrified confusion- to awkwardness? Well, except Ronnie Anne...she's just giggling.

"Wow...it's even smaller then I thought it be." She teased out loud.

Hearing this, Lincoln FINALLY noticed...he was naked.

Lincoln went bright red and covered himself.

"Right, let's jsut cover you up now." Said Hop-Pop as he quickly gave Lincoln his jacket. He hurried him and the others into the Rust Bucket as the other campers busied themselves panicking and putting out the burnt remains of the campsite.

"Right, I don't know what just happened, but I think it best we cut this camping trip short...at least until we figure out what the blazes is going on." He said looking at his grandson concerned...

Lincoln said nothing..he was too busy looking down at his brand new 'watch'...

…III...

TO BE CONTINUED?

(1): Well, the parents went to jail at least. The teenagers (Lori, Leni, Luna, Luan, and Lynn) all got sent to Juvie...although Lori is currently in a work-release program due to extenuating circumstances and the rest 'might' get out early on good behavior...The younger siblings(Lucy, Lana, Lola, Lisa, and Lily) found themselves in the foster system and were all snapped up by different families and scattered far and wide before Hop-Pop could do anything about it...in short the Loud house is truly and completely broken.

(2):So yes, Lori is currently pregnant with Bobby's kid. And that is the ONLY reason why Bobby is still trying to patch things up withe Lori after what she did to Lincoln...well, that and Lincoln also asked him to forgive her- much to Ronnie's annoyance...
